I finally bought one. Have to say I'm impressed. Very responsive. It feels alive. My Katanas never did. And yeh, it will get loud! Thanks for this demo.
Man, love this Orange Crush 35st. I had come across the Blackstar id core 40 V4, and was pretty bent on it. Then I saw a video comparing this amp against a Boss Katan MII, and still thought the Orange Crush 35rt sound a lot better.. And now I'm leaning more for this amp than the Blackstar id core 40 V4.. You're inspiring me to try and play some of the mellow stuff you're doing here on my Blackstar Silverline Special 50W on clean/crunch channels using all the way up gain, and this amp is actually very good too. But there's something about that Orange Crush 35rt I really love. Great video!
I have an orange 35rt too and i can't believe that something could sounds that good, i have some time that i buyed it and still don't believe it, there's nothing better than orange
Thank you for posting this. Your orderly, no-nonsense approach makes for an extremely useful video. I was already seriously considering the Crush 35RT, and your informative video has finalized my decision. My next amp shall be an Orange.
Another awesome video! Thanks for helping me choose this Amp! Also 2 years in and still thanking you for helping me choose my Martin SCE13E acoustic/electric.
I was looking for a good demo of this amp and found this video. For once a demo that actually shows me how the amp sounds in a context that actually helps. Awesome Demo and playing. Thank you so much.
Excellent demo! You showed all the tones in a perfect order, well presented. The clean tones were a kind of beauty and the dirty sounds were very good. Great playing indeed. I have in mind this amp for the kind of tones you demoed here. Thanks for that!
One of the best demos of this amp. Nice playing! I can't decide to get this one or the Katana Boss 50w, I mostly use pedals. Which you think it would be better for me?
I personally never used the Katana before, so I can't common on that. The Orange's clean channel is totally clean without any break up. Crunch channel is pretty good too! From low gain vintage tone to super high gain modern tone, all been covered! Also, it's a perfect bedroom amp!
@@daghetto101 Why do you prefer the 35RT? There are so many reviews heavily praising the Katanas, hence the question. The 35RT has an effects loop and it looks better, but the Katana has lots of on board effects. Actually, in this demo the 35RT sounds lovely, though I'd have to play at bedroom levels.
@@chrishyde1216 I prefer the 35RT mainly because of the sound I get to it. I like the tone of the amp pretty much. I have the Katana 100. But it doesn't mean The 35rt is way better than it. I just prefer it by a hair and it's because most of the time I played at home. I only gig once/twice a month, sometimes once every 2 months. I don't know. It sounds well bodied and a lil bit thicker than the Katana.
I bought this amp as a practice amp and im dissapointed in a sense.... This amp is stupidly loud LMAO. Tho it sounds good. One of the best amps out there for the budget. It can do rehearsals/gig and can play with a drummer. The effects loop is pretty good and properly working, i always put my time and modulations pedal in there. It also takes pedal well in front of an amp and pairing it with your pedals/pedalboard in general. But not a good one for practice amp. You're gonna annoy your neighbors with this.
That I also struggle.... Wish I can turn it louder to get better tones. But I find the headphone output pare with some post EQ, can get me some great tones! Very happy with that!
@chrishyde1216 From reviews I've seen an orange mini Amp and 8 inch speaker is the recommended option for practice in small space. Guess the 35 watts and speaker size are the issue.
Before anything else, you did awesome job sir. Answer pretty much everything in this video. Helps me a lot. Thank you so much! I'm looking for a solid state amp for kinda dark overdriven lead sound with my les paul. I love high gain lead sound. Do you think its a good choice? Do ı need any drive pedal for boost? Thinkin about the Marshall MG series but didn't like the speaker.
@@erhanakbulutsyou've already heard it in this video. I turned up the gain, and it still sounds tight. Maybe not djent kind of tightness, but definitely not fuzz out.
I don't think anybody makes a true Solidstate guitar amp anymore. They're all digital using a ice module for power instead of output transistor and heat sinks to keep them cool. Is this a true solid-state amplifier minus the verb? I like using my own overdrive and time based effects. effect loop? BTW tasteful playing
The headphone output jack has a cab sim built-in, but it doesn't sound very good on it's own. You need another EQ pedal to shape the tone. Besides, when you plug in the headphone output jack, you will loose the speaker sound. I think it is not design for live use. More studio friendly I guess.
Someone on another video said its possible to connect it to a P.A.if you run a cable from the “Send” input on the effects loop to the mixer. Not sure if it works since Ive never tried it myself but, something to consider.
I'm interested to know how you recorded this demo as it sounds really good!? Is it a room microphone , your mobile phone or the speaker emulated direct out from the actual amplifier as I can't see a mike on the speaker?
Is there a way to try and compensate for the lack of touch responsive distortion on these type of solid state amps? I'm thinking of downsizing from my fender mustang 150 watt modelling amp but want to try and be aware of the drawbacks... Judging from this demo it looks like certain settings can allow you to emulate this?
@@rajikula8085 Yes! I own both amps, and like a tube/valve amp, it is very touch responsive. It also cleans up nicely with the guitar's volume. This amp is all analog. The only digital component is the added reverb. The mustang is all digital modeling, so It's an emulation of the intended amp. This isn't a platform for sound, it is the sound, and it's a very versatile one. Hope that helps?
Great demo! I tested this amp today and I really liked the clean, it's simply great. On the dirty channel, with the gain set to high, I found the tone too fuzzy. I know this is the authentic Orange tone, but it's too much for me, especially on the lead parts (to be honest, the rhythm sounded great). In your demo, the hi-gain tone sounds good for me. How did you attenuate the fuzziness? Thanks in advance.
@@jimmyrocks43 Thanks a lot! I got to test this setting 👍 I know this amp is great to use with pedals, but I like its overdrive, as well (except the extra fuzz). Thanks again.
I can't play as well as you can. AT. ALL. 😂 But, I don't care. I deserve an amp that's going to give 💯. If this isn't that amp, it does a good enough impression for me!
I love my 35rt , bass at 7 , mids 3, treble 4 , full gain and half reverb with P90s its HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I find it very bass heavy in my place, that's why I turned it off. But besides that, everything is pretty good!
Maybe if you have it at the floor. I got an amp stand n it sounds perfect

Hi, ggreat video. One question: do you think volume at 5-6 is enough for rock and roll band rehersals or not?
I think the dirty channel will be loud enough for that, but I'm not sure if the clean channel couple with some pedals will cut though...
Should be fine. I normally max at 7 when rehearsal with my band . But of course you can control from your vol/wah pedal too. Cheers!!
I think the clean is good enough to almost forget that it has no tubes.

What do you think this amp + nux mg30? Sounds great? Via return amp?
I never used the MG-30 into a real amp, to be honest. I always use full digital or pure analog.
great amp..is it loud enought for band practice?
I think the drive channel is. Not sure if the clean channel can keep up.
I use it with a full band playing metal pretty loud . But i use a digitech rp250 pedal great sound
I got a question (srry 4 bad english) this amp is good for concerts? I mean if its amplified good and are the 35 wtts enought?

can you get good dirty sounds with it with low volume?
