Zoo tv tour possibly the greatest and most influential stadium tour of all time . First tour to ever have a cat walk/ b stage going out into the stadium floor.
The multimedia used on this tour , the video screens were the first of its kind .
Unbelievable tour and this was a tour that happened in 92-93 . Still stands up even now

There is a recording of Bono taking a girl out of the audience then laying her down on the stage and he lays next to her and sings “ with or without you “ she can hardly breathe. 😮❤️

I was at this gig also, quite possibly the greatest concert I have been to! One of my friends was the tallest woman there, with the whitest hair the 90's ever did see, every time I see her bouncing white locks I know exactly where we were 😁💖💖. A bit further back than Dei 😁🎶🎵

I think that this was my first stadium concert, and we were gutted when we saw our seats, but bad turned to good and it was one of the best nights ever! The whole concert, from start to end, was just glorious. I bought the DVD of concert and still watch it every so often. Good memories. I still have a few Zoo Dollars tucked away in a photo album somewhere. I think they shot them out of cannons during Daddy's Gonna Buy You a Brand New Car. They only fell on the stage and into the first few rows of the crowd. They are freaking hilarious. Bono in a fur jacket smoking a cigar and giving a Churchill peace sign. :)
MY LETTER TO U2-1987
I saw you guys on the Joshua Tree tour in 1987 at MTSU-Middle Tennessee State University Saturday November 28th 1987. The Bodeans opened up for you. I remember at the time Larry had a crush on Wynonna Judd and she came out and sang a duo with Bono!
I didn't have tickets to the show. A friend of mine drove us 3 hours from East Tennessee to see the show. We bought tickets at the box office for $18.50. We ended up 8th row center stage!
I remember back then the band held back tickets for fans who were willing to make the drive and couldn't get tickets via phone or record store locations.
Thanks again to Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr for making a special album and tour! I was 18 and had just graduated High School that year!

I got moved to a kick ass seat
I was at that concert November 1993 I had just immigrated to Sydney Australia in March of that Year I had a friend at the time working as personnel Secretary for a CEO of a company that had a corporate box and I was invited to attend

This tour changed all rock tours from then on. Mick Jagger was with them backstage in London and called them assholes because they would have to live up to that show. The stage was so high that the FAA in the US made them put red lights on top of the towers so that low flying planes wouldn’t hit them. They invented the Long runway to a “B-Stage” that extends out into the crowd that now pretty much every large band has copied. The ‘cranes’ that you mention are actually German cars from the 1980’s that are hoisted above the stage and used as spotlights. This tour and the album that it is supporting will never be matched in rock history.

I've seen U2 on two occasions in Sydney. A brilliant live band . My favourite live song is Bullet the blue sky. I saw them in 97 at the old Sydney football stadium where they paid tribute to Michael Hutchence who sadly passed. The other time was in early 2000's at Olympic stadium.
Where you there when Bono said "where are Michael" and they sky flashed!

Read somewhere that the stage was as high as an 11-story building. I saw U2 at Dodger's Stadium in 1992.

The 1987 live version in the Sun Devil Stadium , Tempe Arizona beat that performance by miles.
Saw this concert in Melbourne probs only a few days after Sydney.

My top 1 and 2 U2 songs are Until the End of the World and Love is Blindness. Both are insane on this tour, but Edge’s solo on Love is Blindness will bring tears to your eyes.
That solo really does come from a different world... and same goes for The Edge lol

The old Omni Atlanta Ga Joshua's Tree tour 12-9-87 12th row center standing in my chair the entire concert because rows 1-11 were doing it. Before they had these huge stages I liked it better than the Zoo tour more personal it seemed.
