This was awesome. I was in L.A. when this happened and it was nuts. I’m still in L.A. and nothing like it since. At least U2 kept going. When The Beatles did their concert on the roof, that was their swan song. Great reaction Stan, it was a goosebumps moment.

U2 became superstars at this time - the Joshua Tree album - which this song was on. I went to the Joshua Tree concert in San Diego. Was incredible.
Me too 1987 murrayfield park Edinburgh,the 1st time I saw them,The Zoo tv in 1993 at Celtic Park Glasgow was the best I’ve seen U2 tho the 360% at Hampden Park Glasgow 2009 a close 2nd my favourite band easily an seeing them Live is unbelievable

I’m late to the party, but you REALLY need to check out the U2 song playing on the radio at the beginning of the video: Bullet the Blue Sky. Check out the live version combo “October/Bullet The Blue Sky” for an incredible performance. (Several other reaction channels have also done this version, btw.)
I was downtown that day but didn't know U2 was playing until it was over. I could hear it from Union Station... about a mile and half away, but there was no way to get down there in all the traffic. . At the time 7th & Main was basically skid row and there was a big crack epidemic going on in downtown, but your chances of getting hurt or mugged in broad daylight were slim. This location was about a block from the Greyhound station where people were constantly coming and going (I think it's moved now) and about two blocks north of the wholesalers Garment District where there was also a lot of well off people doing business there. So they are getting into a bit of hyperbole by implying it was dangerous to go there.
