  • I rebuilt this Polaris Sportsman ACE 570 a while back using aftermarket parts, and it has started to consume quite a bit of oil. Today I'm going to tear it down again to see if I can find any causes of this. This particular machine has been nothing but trouble!
Next week will be part 2, where I will show exactly what went wrong and we will put this machine back together!

Monster gap ! Years ago I rebuilt a 570 ranger with OEM cylinder ,piston and rings , that gets used around a campground . It's back smoking bad, Cooked tension out of the second ring , and polished the cylinder walls . Poor metal in the rings ?

Man, I hope it doesn't happen again. So far so good... I was very surprised and disappointed to find that gap in the ring. I'm fairly certain a defect in the replacement cylinder caused my issue, but it is very possible that poor metal quality in the rings allowed it to wear down in the first place. It's also weird because my 2019 has more miles and is perfectly fine still. Both machines are on the same maintenance schedules and get used in the same way (if anything the 2019 is pushed harder). Time will tell... Thanks for watching!

Monstrous, indeed! I found that there was an issue with the cylinder and it was eating my rings. New video drops tomorrow morning showing the damage on the cylinder. Went OEM this time! Thank you for your continued support! I really appreciate it!
