  • Welcome back to 3Day Weekend! Today we continue a 3-part series on how to remove/rebuild/replace a transmission in a Sportsman ACE! The machine I'm showing today is a 570, but the process is the same for the 325. We removed the transmission from the machine last week. This week, I'll split the case and remove all the internals, replace the faulty output shaft, then put everything back together. This turned out to be a pretty big repair!
Here are the links to all 3 parts. I also have them in the "ACE" playlist!

I have a Rzr 1000 trail that is going to have the same problem as what you have just fixed in this video. I replaced the yoke but it's still loose on the output shaft. It's just a matter of time before I am going to do the same thing as you. Did you have any warning that the shaft was getting really bad before you just had to replace it? I just don't want to be caught out on the trail when the out put shaft finally is rounded off that I am stuck out in the middle of nowhere. If there is something that would tell me that it is time to replace it, like a noise before it goes out then I would be ok to keep on driving it until I hear something. It's that time of year when I want to be out riding not having it tore apart in pieces in the garage. You do a Great job with your videos! Thanks for any info you can provide!

Sorry to hear that! The good news is that a complete failure of those parts will not leave you stranded. We kept driving the ACE knowing that the part was going bad. Eventually it started to make grinding noises once the yoke could turn on the shaft. All this meant is that we couldn't use 4wd. It still worked for the remainder of the trip in 2wd, even though it was noisy! If it were my machine, I'd keep sending it until it let loose. Even if it did start making noise, you could pull the prop shaft out, and it will still run and drive in 2wd and get some more use out of the machine until winter! Hope that helps, thank you for your compliments, and thank you very much for watching!
