Yes, they do have the same chain setup. It's not the exact same chain, but same design. The tensioners are known to go bad in a 1000, so I'd start with that first. On my rzr 570 it was locking up and I pulled the motor to find out when the flywheel nut is loosened it will spin free again like brand new but when I try to tighten it. it starts locking up and get worse the more I tighten do you know why?
@@3DayWeekend yes I believe I have found the issue the one way bearing on the flywheel was locking up and the gear would seize right to it causing lock up I got it free and tryed again thinking maybe just dirt worked ok put it back in and tryed to start locked together again should have it running Monday hopefully thank you for the reply
Would this same chain be in a 2016 RZR 1000? Mine is making a rattling noise from the same place.

That's interesting... I'm not sure why exactly. Perhaps a bent crank or a bad bearing? Hopefully you're able to find the issue and get it fixed!
