    Fantastic instructions. This is the best I have found so far.
    I don't use them often, so this method is great for long term storage.
    Brilliant.

    Forever grateful for this magnificent hack. One variation I like is to wrap the ratchet side hook against the ratchet body, then lay the strap on top and double feed through ratchet. Seems to cinch together better. Still variation on your theme. Thanks for something with GREAT utility!!!! Gary W.

    I changed tha last step just a bit. Instead looping the long strap over the short strap, I pass the long strap through the closed end of the hook and then into the ratchet and tighten. Now you can flip the hook up and hang the straps.

    • @brenwill
      @brenwill  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That’s a great suggestion for the last step in order to hang them by the hook, I’ll have to give that a try! Thanks!

      In the last step are you running the strip through the same holes both times ? Mine seem to get tingled

    The brilliance of this way is that you tighten it at after it’s wrapped, so it just won’t unravel mistakenly. Fantastic. 🇨🇦👍🏼

    This is by far the best, and tightest way to store my straps. Thanks for sharing this info. I also have to agree with one of the other comments, that if you use your straps alot (like every other week, then maybe the webbing method would be better, but this method is great for storing in your vehicle, for the few times I use them. Thanks again.

    • @brenwill
      @brenwill  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bill made a great suggestion in a comment today. In the last step, instead of folding hook in on itself, keep it pointed up and take the remaining short end of the strap and slip it thru the closed end of the hook and into the ratchet. That’ll give a hook to hang’em!

    GREAT ! Elegant simplicity over the other YT solutions.. I’ve had the “piles” problem for years. One suggestion: rather than rolling up the entire length of the strap, first double it over before beginning to roll. Still leave a long enough tail out for completion of the roll. Takes half the time to roll and the result is still the same. Next time I buy some more straps at Horror Freight I’m curious to see how they package them new. I think they may use rubber bands or ties which determinate and get lost. Nice job !

    THIS is worth 3,000 TH-cam views!! I’m not stupid, but I never have figured out a better solution than this! I always tried to keep both pieces together - so they’re ready for use almost immediately - but this solution is so effective I’ll change my ways! Besides, ratchet straps typically spent FAR more time in the trunk than holding down junk!!
