@@jk2l it’s not a big deal to me, all the bikes I had when I started riding didn’t have a fuel gauge. I usually just fill up around 100 miles, or when the light comes on.

I just bought a brand new speed triple 1200RS and sold my 2019 Monster 1200s for it. I haven’t ridden the SFV2 but it has very similar specs to my monster 1200, although the monster had an extra 20lbs torque. Im a true ducatista but it was well worth the switch. The speedy is the most flawless bike I’ve ever ridden. So planted and goes exactly where you place it. Power is incredible yet so manageable. The engine and transmission quick shifter are also buttery smooth, way better than the monster. My suspension is perfect, not stiff like past reviewers said, and also I’m not having a hard time finding neutral.
If anyone is considering either of these two, highly consider the speed triple.

OC: If had to choose I'm going with the V2 over the V4. But not having cruise control is a big negative for me, as I commute everyday on the highway. Also wouldn't switch from my MT09 SP to the Streetfighter V2. As I've had a Ducati Panigale 959 before and I'm NOT there for riding a Ducati in the heat of a Georgia summer again.

  • @Einungbrekke

I've never had my Ducatis out of sportsmode. Rain or not, sport all the way. I got a monster 1200 currently. Similar sitting position. The wind never bother me, but then again, I hardly ever go on the highway, I find other ways where I ride just as fast. With my Monster I have no issue having a 500-600 km ride. Have tested the SF V4 and loved it and it felt like I could ride it for almost as long as the Monster. The negative for me on the V4 is price and fuel consumption. Have to stop to fill the tank too often. The V2 is better in that regard, like about 70 km more than the V4. I haven't tested the V2 yet, but hope to do that within the month. Its time to change my Monster and I want this one.

I would love to have a Ducati super bike but I unfortunately cannot afford one and coming from the Ducati 800 scrambler cafe racer I believe the V2 is a more fluid transition…. Have you seen the 2023 SFV2 in green and liquid cooled? It looks awesome which makes my long awaited decision that more complicated between the “white rosso v2”, “Bayliss V2”, and or the upcoming “2023 SFV2 in green” I would be glad if you had any opinions to share Chase?

For most people (you know, like if you're not Valentino Rossi or Jon Rea) the V2 platform is enough bike. Having said that, if you want a V4, by all means, but the sound and performance of the V2 on the different bikes (I tested the Panigale, Streetfighter, and Multistrada V2, and on all of them, it is such a well tuned platform!. Ducati's V4 is great, but the Twins they make are just phenomenal! I'm looking at the Monster or ypermotard as a bike for me, and that engine is similar o the V2, and on the Hypermotard is an insane engine! OC V@ all the way.

@@toomasunt2668 well, it's also cheaper, has cruise control, has a fuel gauge, has wind protection, so it's better on highway and longer rides, base tuono v4 costs less than Sfv2, factory costs less than v4.
Sf is lighter, more agile with better lower speed handling and easier to ride around town, hydraulic clutch instead of high effort cable helps there as well, more relaxed naked bike ergonomics help too compared to aprilia's pure aggressive rsv4 rear ergos with slightly more relaxed front. Tuono is better for high speed stability/comfort and wheelies since it has loads of power on tap and no counter rotating crank (superduke would be even better for that last part).
Aprilia is more raw and exciting for me with loads of sound, power, and torque at any rpm which makes it really strong around town (can be scary for people who ride in low geats without smooth throttle control) and allows you to lazily stay in 6th gear for highway passing. Being more work to ride makes it more involving.
Sfv4 is just so capable that it feels like it rides itself and the rider doesn't matter all that much, kind of sterile until very high speeds.
V2 felt more involving and fun than v4, maybe I'll still get one next year or later. Gotta try 890 duke r (790 was pretty terrible and agricultural) and zh2 and superduke as well.
Really it's all about horses for courses and personal preference unless we also consider the value where Ducati charges a lot more than other manufacturers and skimps out on features as well as higher grade components in certain cases, you do get pretty looks and decent fit and finish though.
Loved sf looks but wasn't a fan of the winglets and how wide v4 was, v2 solves that, and looks amazing in green.

So, bought a V2 in July. My dealer said “motorcycle people don’t buy Ducatis, Ducati people buy Ducatis”. I understood that immediately when I drove away. I personally Couldn’t get rid of my it fast enough. It was just not for me. Was able to get an MT09 SP last week and couldn’t be happier.

I feel that I am in your position right now but the opposite lol. I only owned Ducati then sold my last one. Was in the market for 890 duke R or mt09sp, so I bought a 890 duke R back in July and sold it yesterday to go back to a Ducati. I will be getting the v2 lol!

I don't understand the desire for inaccurate fuel gauges - it's pretty easy to know how far you can go on a tank.....
2 of my three bikes have fuel gauges and they have left me almost stranded, or filling up way sooner than required.
