    Marty, another great video. I'm having a good problem to figure whether I should get this or the SS 950 (I want a riding posture that's more Panigale than a Monster but not quite as much as the Panigale.) Does the SFV2 have a more hunkered down posture despite its straight handlebars?

      Big upgrade from the MT 09! My situation is about the same as yours. I upgraded from a 21' MT 10 to the Streetfighter V4 S and boy it's like going from a Nissan 370 Z to a Porsche or Ferrari. I'm sure the V2 is just as fun and more than enough for the street, the V4 S is a little overkill for just every day commuting.

    I sat on one during Chicago’s ready for red tour and was surprisingly disappointed by the ergonomics of it. The riding position felt way more committed than that of my SF848. Everything else was amazing, though. Part of me still wants to love the SF V2.

    • @jk8897
      @jk8897 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It would be actually dangerous and not enjoyable for the new SFV2 to have too much relaxed riding position because it is still a very powerful machine.

      @justinmckeown9029 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jk8897 true, but it also has the latest set of electronic rider aids to reel it back in. I think I just had certain expectations from riding a SF 848 for years. Still want to test ride one so I know for sure how it is. The last time I was this excited over a new launch was when the MV F3 came out.

    Great videos Marty. This vs a monster, city rider (work from home) so strictly fun and groceries and I don't see myself ever tracking a bike. I know the V2 is "better", I just question if I "need" that much better of a bike. And did I understand correctly, this is more aggressive of a ride than a supersport? The problem in Idaho is a dealer having the bikes around to see, much less a bike that isn't pre-sold so I could demo.

    • @AMSDucatiDallas
      @AMSDucatiDallas  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct the SFV2 is a more aggressive riding position than the SS. We hear you on the demo bike/inventory issue. With the supply chain problems we are still facing coming out of Italy, most dealers do not have much in their showroom to look at. All bikes coming into country at this point are pre-sold. Maybe reach out to your local Ducati Owners Club and ask when they have their next member meet to view different models in person.

    On one hand sfv2 is an interesting proposition because it slots in-between the upper middle weights like 890 duke R, z900se, street triple RS etc and full blown hyper nakeds like 1290 SDR, zh2, sfv4, and what not. So this can be somewhat reasonable without being underpowered or full on mad, more in line with s1000r(bland), gsxs 1000 (that one is loads cheaper), mt-10 sp (hideous and awfully sounding), but most likely with a lot more character and better looks.
    OTOH base tuono v4 is $1000 less with a v4 that has more power, more wind protection, fuel gauge, and cruise control.
    Can't wait to ride one to see if it's just the right balance or not great enough to justify the horrible value (no fuel gauge, no cruise control, no heated grips, too close in price to hyper nakeds), and it's better to save some money with something like 890 R, or spend a bit more on sdr, zh2 (pretty heavy, but the supercharger should be fun), or sfv4.

    • @kevincrockett5155
      @kevincrockett5155 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I understand what you're saying. To me, the SFV2 and V4 look miles better than the Tuono. The Aprilia is a beast, but the V2 isn't chopped liver and the V4 is really something special. I say all this to say, dependending on the test rides, I'd have a V2SF or maybe save a few more duckets and get a V4. I'd rather one of the Ducati twins over the Aprilias, Yamaha, BMW, Suzuki, Kawasaki, KTM, and Honda.

    • @volodymyrshoniia2424
      @volodymyrshoniia2424 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kevincrockett5155 yeah, I am not a fan of Aprilia looks or even sound, but it's definitely a better value and overall package, maybe that engine makes it worth it. It's also not great that the closest Aprilia dealers are 3.5 to 6 hours (there's also MV at the 6 hour point) away from me while Ducati is 15 minutes.
      Sdr is a mad machine with awesome torque, aggressive looks and stance, but it may be a bit too close in experience to my built 690 supermoto. May be a bit of a tractor when it comes to the engine. I guess I could just get rid of the supermoto and get an sdr.
      Sfv2 may be just right with its awesome looks, decent suspension and brakes, rev happy v2, and a bit of money savings over the hypernakeds. Maybe it will cleanse the bad taste that 13 hyperstrada ownership left in my mouth (ecu/throttle/sudden limp mode issues, random unwillingness to start or idle sometimes, loads of vibes, soft and messy suspension). Sfv4 seems a bit too wide, and sounds odd, there is one on twisted road nearby, could try that out of curiosity.
      Japanese options (as well as bmw) outside of the supercharged zh2 (which is more of a heavier cruiser/tourer thing with less sporting intensions) seem to lack character, beautiful design, performance, quality of fit and finish or components, and only sell on being a value proposition. Doubt I'll like any i4 considering even triumph's 675 was too refined and boring in the power delivery department (need more torques and power earlier on). #eurosnob
      890 duke r is supposedly greatly improved over the 790 that I tried and absolutely hated (agricultural engine, soft suspension, weak brakes, so light and small that it didn't feel substantial, kind of like a 390 duke but with more power).

    • @wolfmanradio
      @wolfmanradio ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that a nice used Ducati Monster or Royal Enfield 650 is a great first bike. These Ducati V2 bikes have way too much power for one’s first go on the street. Also, anything with a full fairing, like the Panigale, costs a fortune to insure. Go with the Streetfighter, when the time comes to buy your second bike.

    What kind of bozo can afford a V2 but not a V4 Streetfighter? That's why this bike isn't going to sell well specifically, the price differential isn't large enough to justify picking up a V2 instead of spending another $3000 to pick up a V4. The Multistrada V2 comes in at $15,295 whereas the base Multi V4 is $20,000. That's a much more significant gap and is akin to a larger decision on pricing. Ducati marked up the SF V2 so it wouldn't obliterate its current lineup market, the V2 according to their pricing structure should be in the neighborhood of around $15,500. Even the Panigale V2 is $17,395 compared to the base V4 Panigale at $23,295. The price on the bike makes utterly no sense, it's a real shame too because this would have been my first Ducati at $15,500. But instead, it's going to sit on a showroom floor and not get bought while I ride away on a Streetfighter V4. Don't know who over at Ducati came up with the price but they should be terminated.
