you can really see the difference of this review of long term owner and the reviews when someone just borrows the bike, you look so comfotrable with the bike and totally different experience also your sound is really cool, hope you continue making videos on this.... and myb some raw sound riding would be nice to have on the channel
Fellow MI sfv4 owner. 2023, also from Ducati Detroit, with 2500 miles so far. Only issue I had was that (sub 600 miles) the stock exhaust butterfly actuator/cable was out of adjustment in 2nd gear only. No power above 5k in second which was very odd. Fixed under warranty during the 600mi service. One thing I do like about the 2023 is, despite there still being no fuel gauge, there is an automatic fuel trip odometer that pops up on the display when the low fuel light comes on. However, I've never been able to put more than 3.3 gallons in the tank, even after the light has been on for 10-15 miles. I think the light is a bit preemptive, but thats better than overly optimistic I guess. Not sure if the pre-23 bikes have that, but I hear so many people complaining about the lack of fuel gauge; that auto trip odometer somewhat makes up for it. Thanks for the vid. Maybe we'll run into each other.
Ive been pretty lucky to not have any issues with mine. My 22 does have that F Trip when the light comes but, like you said it seems very preemptive as I also never get above 3.5 gallons or so. Safe riding!
Florida man here I’ve had a zx10,,zx14, mt09 , sv650, I feel like the all got hit especially just being in Fla lol. I’ve been looking at the monster plus, not you got me looking at this ! I stopped riding for a while cause of back aches and got into cars . Looking for something I can sit upright in but still be a sport bike and be somewhat comfortable . 5”7 as well so I’ll have to check out see how this feels
How do your wrists feel after a long haul? I'd really love for the bike to have cruise control. Also the fact that it's lacking a fuel gauge. Hoping they'll add these in 2024.
Never have an issue. maybe a little fatigue but nothing that makes the bike unpleasant to ride. I Personally have more back pain after long rides (hours long)
@@armanterrell7215No joke. Most of the roads in TX are wide and straight. I ended up moving to Nashville TN last year and the roads here are really twisty. Way nicer than in Texas.
Great review, I got mine from Motor City Ducati and same, Service advisor called me and said I had a "nail" in my rear tire when it was at its 2nd oil change so that was 800 bucks. its running flawless otherwise.
Got my sub because i am in the market for a bike and i done tons and tons of research for my next long term bike, i hate to change bikes thats why it is really important to get the almost perfect bike and it is such a headache with all the options we have nowadays, SFV4 is the bike my heart and mind want but there are still some stuff i wanna know and i would really appreciate it if you answered these questions: 1-how hot it gets, you talked about it but is it really bad, i live in hot weather most of the year. 2-how good is it in filtering through cars in traffic, does the wide bars an issue, because i am coming from sportbike clip ons. 3- how is the headlight quality at night ? appreciate the sub! To answer your questions. 1- THE HEAT I personally do not think it is that bad. However I am not riding in stop and go traffic often. If Heat is a huge worry I wouldn't let it stop me from getting it. There are some built in things to help with the heat also like rear cylinder deactivation, and some heat shields next to the legs. All in all not a big deal. 2- THE BARS I think your biggest issue with fitting will be your mind telling you that it wont fit vs it not actually fitting. I had the same concern when switching from clip ons to regular bars and ive never had an issue with it not fitting. 3- THE LIGHT Its decent but could be better. When I picked up the bike brand new and rode it in the dark for the first time the lights were pointed at the sky. Once I adjusted them (Which can be a pain) they work pretty good. They have a nice spread and the high beam is solid. Not the best headlights i've had on a bike but by far not the worst. Plenty more content on the way!

I’m curious about the clutch. I have heard you can do the SP2 dry clutch upgrade on the V4. Does the V4 come with a “standard” dry clutch that can be upgraded to a different material or is it a wet clutch?
@@CerealCityGarage yeah that’s what I thought. I see absolutely no advantage to the dry clutch. 1) it wears faster 2) it’s really expensive. For a street bike I feel like a wet slipper clutch is going to offer the best bang for the buck.
Have you ridden the Diavel v4? I’m torn between the two. Position is great on both BUT cruise control, larger tank, fuel gauge, keyless control, launch start, even more comfortable positioning, WAY better for a pillion…. I think I’ll be going Diavel v4
I have the same bike and exhaust but with a stage 2 Brentune. How’s your idle? Mine is pretty rough and I’ve sent them videos and complained but they tell me there’s nothing they can do and it’s not their tune, ran just fine with stock exhaust.
My Idle is pretty good. Sounds a little rough on cold start but nothing that has made me question the tune. Once the bike is warmed up it idles like stock. No issues at all.

No regrets! I love the bike! Still has been flawless! Personally no I wouldn’t upgrade to the v4s. I only ride on the street and I don’t think I can even get close to being able to tell a difference.
I has a 22 v4s with 10800 kms now and I’ve changed the oil 4 times already I changed oil so many times because I have the clear clutch cover and I like to keep it clean. Yes I agree with you it’s a gas 🐷

1. Ive never been on a V4S but, Ive also never felt like I was lacking anything on the V4. So my opinion is if you are using it as a street bike get the v4. If you are using it as a track bike get the V4S. 2. That is correct there is no fuel gauge. Doesn't bother me as much as I thought because I just reset my trip when I fuel up. After 2 or 3 tanks you learn how many miles you typical get before the fuel light comes on. 3. I personally would NOT recommend to a beginner. Yes it has low power mode but we all know sticking to riding in that mode isn't as easy as it sounds. The V2 is a better beginner option if you must have a ducati streetfighter.

The V4 is actually the better track bike than the S, the soft suspension on the S isn't great for heavier set riders but works great for street damping. The brakes are identical. 2. No fuel gauge is no issue, I typically fill up when the light gets on but have run it 30mi or so with the fuel light on. 3. As a first bike? No. As a second bike? Sure, for someone who knows how to respect the throttle and their life. Electronics will keep slide/lift in check, but it's easy to pick up too much speed for a corner. Disagree with OP on the v2 being a better bike for a beginner, it's still 155hp. Skip the v2 for the V4, it's a comfier and easier to ride bike.
Let me ask you. That orange indicator in your display when you first accelrate in the beginning of video. Meaning what? Cant see it when you accelrate later in video. Asking because I just bought a SFV4 and noticed same thing
I believe you are seeing the RPM Indicator. Its sort of like a shift light built into the RPM counter. You dont see it later on in the video because I am in a higher gear and shifting early before the light comes on. I hope this helps.
There is a low fuel light that comes on. My understanding is you have about 20 miles (32 km) after that comes on to refuel. I use my trip 1 and reset it every time I fill up. I know I am getting low after 75-80 miles (120-130 km) of riding. Its always a guessing game.

It is a wet clutch from factory. I believe you can buy the kit to make it a dry clutch.

I have not had a chance to ride one yet. I think if you are looking for a more comfortable bike that still has awesome performance, get the diavel.

No regrets! I love the bike! Still has been flawless! Personally no I wouldn’t upgrade to the v4s. I only ride on the street and I don’t think I can even get close to being able to tell a difference.

Never had the bike overheat. Even in standstill traffic on a hot day. It gets very hot but the bike is never phased by it.

@@Pheil The only other difference I believe are the wheels which are slightly lighter on the "S" as they are 3 spoke instead of 5 spoke.
