I can’t vouch for the other motorcycles you listed but I have a MT09 and it is great. As you said it punches way above its price point and anyone needing more of anything in the performance department must be a super motto track professional racer. I would suggest the 2021 or newer models as they cured a few issues of earlier models.
It was 2018. I was mesmerized by my 1290 Superduke. I lived 6 miles from work and so I bought it as a company vehicle and joked to everyone who didn't want to hear it that if anyone at my country's IRS knows anything about bikes and learns about me buying this sledgehammer of a motorcycle for a 6 mile commute, they'd be in stitches. Fun-price is exactly the same metric as smile per mile. The Superduke is obviously worth it. Six years later, still plenty worth it. Bang for buck verdict - no brainer.
Can somebody point me to an explanation of why tubed tires might be preferable to tubeless? Certain conditions? What are the pros and cons of tubeless vs.tubeful ?
Spoked rims are stronger and a lot of people think they look better (tubes). Cast rims can have tubeless tires which are easier to fix a flat (use a plug).

Not a bad list, just one question. Wouldn't the cf moto papio be better than a navi since its bang for buck. And if you're going for honda built, would the xr150L be better? Yes, $3k compared to $1.8k, but way more capable
Im surprised with the love the MT-07 gets and the niche it fills from possible beginner bike for those with a little experience to being a bike the experienced crew can enjoy that it didn't make the list.
If you had to add the RS 457 that would have made this list have 4 Indian manufactured motorcycles all in the 400 segment and made for the global market! I didn't even dream of such a scenario from my India back in the late 90's when I started riding. Back then the most exciting motorcycles were the Yamaha RX100, the TVS-Suzuki Shogun, both two strokes btw, and the Hero-Honda CBZ. All below 160cc. Then came the Bajaj Pulsar 180 and the Hero-Honda Karizma 223 and things have just kept climbing since then. So proud of how far motorcycling has come in India!
I agree. Until I make around at least $80k USD a year. I'll never put myself in the financial bottleneck of trying to make payment for a $15k-$20k vehicle a month.
The Harley-Davidson Tri-Glide Ultra with a few accessories to improve ride quality and a ball hitch will cost a pretty penny initially, but the person riding it will enjoy the hell out of it, and that's worth more than the trike's purchase price by a LONG shot. I'm talking 1,000 yards MINIMUM.

I bought a new 2023 Yamaha MT 09 SP for $ 10,600 OTD from a dealer in Oregon. MSRP, alone would have been $ 11,499 plus tax, lic, freight, prep and other garbage fees at most dealers.
I'd be curious to hear what you think about the changes in style for the Svartpilen. I think the 2024 is still good looking but it is starting to look just like other bikes now. They seem to be leaving behind that unique design that everyone loved. Do you agree? Love your channel.
I may have mentioned this in one of your other articles but the Yamaha Tenere 700 is readily available @ less than $9000 currently in the Phoenix area. Transalp's are hard to find so no deals and I don't think they really compete with each other but all things considered I'd consider the Yamaha a better "Bang for the buck" deal (for those looking for a more dirt focused ADV).
I’m honestly shocked I don’t see more Svartpilen 401s on the road, despite seeing dozens of KTM 390s. Seriously, I live in the Chicago suburbs and I’ve been riding for 14 years and while yeah, the svart 401 is a relatively new bike, they’ve still been making them a few years now and I’ve actually never seen one in person (even with us having the largest cyclegear bike nights in the nation that have had 800+ bikes show up to both of our first 2 bike nights this year so far). I’ve probably seen 30-40 KTM RC/Duke 390s, even ridden a few. Personally, I think the Duke 390 is still the most fun “beginner” bike I’ve ridden. Kinda shocked how many people seem to opt for the R3 or Ninja 400 route. I can only imagine that the Svart is a blast and it looks sick too. I wish they had stuff like that when I started riding
Until the 2024 models I don't think the Svart was really comparably equipped to the Duke. I had a 2022 Duke and had looked at the Svart but the instrument layout was terrible and it had a very small capacity fuel tank (both deal breakers for me). Husqvarna fixed those two things + the bike looks more balanced to me now and similarly equipped the Duke is notably more expensive so I'd probably pick the Svart now. I'm on a GSX 8S now and am really enjoying it but have to admit I miss the light weight of the KTM.
I currently own a 390 adventure. It's an amazing motorcycle! I will replace it next year when I get my A license but for now it's doing its job perfectly fine! I love the bassy sound of the exhaust and the torque is pretty good for an A2 bike!
I liked the GSX-S1000 when I rode it but... i find the MT09 a better motorcycle. And yes, even if the k5 engine in the Suzuki is exciting the sound of the CP4 in the MT10 is worth $3.000 more
Aprilia RS660 has to be the best bang for buck parallel twin sport bike. All the tech and looks of a superkbike along with a level of performance you just wont get from an R7, CBR650 or GSX-8R

Had a Ninja 400, decided to try out the cfmoto 450ss and in almost every single way i love it far more than the 400, just kind of limited on aftermarket parts but they are trickling them in this year so far. 10/10 450ss so worth the try
I can’t vouch for the other motorcycles you listed but I have a MT09 and it is great. As you said it punches way above its price point and anyone needing more of anything in the performance department must be a super motto track professional racer. I would suggest the 2021 or newer models as they cured a few issues of earlier models.
Honda CFR300l 5400$ msrp great single track bike or commuter. Works great on the highway with a good setup.
I love my Transalp it’s a really good daily with a top box for storage
Watching all the way from South Africa
Honestly I think the 500 ninja is probably a better bang for the buck right now than several mentioned in the video.
Agree, and i am buying one very soon!
What yammie missed is the after sales and parts cost which is expensive if you own a Kawasaki.
I agree with your Tuono and GSX-S 1000 picks.
Some great selections I think and like you are saying, good bang for your buck. 🏍️
Great list, Yammie!
CF moto 800 Nk Advanced, no one is talking about this amazing motorcycle
The new twin cylinder MT450 from CF Moto ticks ALOT of boxes and good value,,,,
What about the Royal Enfield Super Meteor or the Shotgun?
2 weeks ago a buy kove 510x and for me realy good fiirst adv bike ( europa , more dealers more parts for it) Engine honda cb 500 ,kayaba on front and rear full adjust , nissin 2x2 front 1x2 rear. 20l ,you can off abs on rear or front and rear , 2 maps , 48km 45nm ,ground clearance 220 , 205 kg fully fueled and ready to go +3 cheasts New 7400$
I almost bought a Transalp. It is a great bike with a nice engine and riding position. I thought it was a blast to ride. I can’t wait to see the Himalayan up close. If it is as good as I am hearing, I will buy one. If not, I am going to buy a Transalp.
went to my local bike dealer and they had duke 200s on sale for 2,850$, they then proceeded to stack on fee after fee which led to 5,600. yammie, PLS let audiences know especially new riders that bike dealers will try to be just as scummy as car dealerships
With the Husky Svartpilen and Vitpilen 401 a really good UP n DOWN quick shifter is included in the price.
In Jacksonville there are new 2023 mt-09 that are cheaper than a mt-07......yeah....
@@ellwoodwolfI agree the bike is great but it’s more expensive then it’s worth
Proud owner of triumph speed 400 … best bang for buck
Love My 23 Royal Enfield Hunter 350 in Rebel Blue ❤
imo the best value new motorcycles are Honda Navi, the new Ninja 500, the Triumph Trident 660, MT09, and the GSXS1000.
4th gen mt09 is gorgeous
In Norway the new 2024 MT-09 is over 16.000 $. The prices are crazy. Couldn’t justify that
I agree. Until I make around at least $80k USD a year. I'll never put myself in the financial bottleneck of trying to make payment for a $15k-$20k vehicle a month.
The KLR will always be cool 😎
7:10 and they(Speed 400 and this one) are both made by Bajaj❤
The Harley-Davidson Tri-Glide Ultra with a few accessories to improve ride quality and a ball hitch will cost a pretty penny initially, but the person riding it will enjoy the hell out of it, and that's worth more than the trike's purchase price by a LONG shot. I'm talking 1,000 yards MINIMUM.
You forgot the DRZ400SM. Great bike, totally reliable, fully customizable and pretty cheap. Got to fulfill all those bikers needs 😏
Bang for buck, the Bajaj NS400Z streetfighter, recently launched in India at at 2,28,000 Rupees on-road, equivalent to about $2730.

and Bajaj"s famously low after sales, parts and maintenance costs
Huge fan, love your content. Im very inspired and am gonna start a motorcycle channel too
4:32 If the Yamaha MT-10 costs $3,000 more than $11,299 then it's 26.5% more expensive, not 35%.
He does speed. He does no math's :(
He rounded it up 😂😂😂
Waiting for my speed 400, it's my first bike. There are 10 people before me on the waiting list
That will take ages. Why not opt for another brand of bike?
I got a 2019 gsxs1000z a few months ago and think it's crazy I got it for about $7,000. I feel like it wants me to rob banks. How they gonna catch me? Insane value. Shocking power and cornering.
I bought a new 2023 Yamaha MT 09 SP for $ 10,600 OTD from a dealer in Oregon.
MSRP, alone would have been $ 11,499 plus tax, lic, freight, prep and other garbage fees at most dealers.
You forgot to add the Yamaha Star Venture and Kawasaki Vulcan Voyager.
Similar (sometimes better) spec'd than a comparable Harley and half the price.
Way better build quality too.
I'd be curious to hear what you think about the changes in style for the Svartpilen. I think the 2024 is still good looking but it is starting to look just like other bikes now. They seem to be leaving behind that unique design that everyone loved. Do you agree? Love your channel.
Great Video!!! Looking for a second bike and need more of these type of videos!
Honda super cub! That is all!
Cbr1100xx is best. Lots of them, Easy found for under $3000, good for over 100,000 miles, fast and eats up miles.
Which bike would you have, the Himalayan 450 or triumph 400 scrambler x
Just bought a new 2023 V4 Tuono, $14,500 before TTL. There’s a deal fer ya!
The Honda Navi was my first bike now I’m on a z900 🫡 thank you Navi for the intro to the bike life
I’m honestly shocked I don’t see more Svartpilen 401s on the road, despite seeing dozens of KTM 390s.
The Aprilia is not cheap enough. The GSX S1000 is surprisingly good value and regularly discounted here.
im getting a used ktm 390 adventure for my first bike. super cool and comfy. ireland is gonna have a new menace on its roads
I currently own a 390 adventure. It's an amazing motorcycle! I will replace it next year when I get my A license but for now it's doing its job perfectly fine! I love the bassy sound of the exhaust and the torque is pretty good for an A2 bike!
When is the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 releasing in USA?
That speed 400 has nice lines and msrp is slightly more than a cheap Vespa.
For that price you would get a 50cc Vespa.
@@finerbiner yes, I have never even sat on a Vespa. I can't get myself to ever ride one.
I liked the GSX-S1000 when I rode it but... i find the MT09 a better motorcycle. And yes, even if the k5 engine in the Suzuki is exciting the sound of the CP4 in the MT10 is worth $3.000 more
I want a Transalp, but I can't seem to find them anywhere here in Northwest Oregon.
How would you Compar the triumph 400 x to the 450 Himalayan
Aprilia RS660 has to be the best bang for buck parallel twin sport bike. All the tech and looks of a superkbike along with a level of performance you just wont get from an R7, CBR650 or GSX-8R
I am torn between the svartpilen and the triumph for my first motorcycle. Which one is going to be more fun? I've tested them both, but I don't really know what makes a good motorcycle.
Man now i gotta put gsx-s 1000 on my short list.
Ayeee he mentioned 450ss. I like mine thus far
is the rs 457 from aprilia not out for export yet. we in India are loving the bike and no import can compete IN THIS price range. i think it is a very cool looking and a very capable bike for the money
What happens with the Cb 750 hornet? Isn't it sold in the US?
Here in Europe it is a great bang for buck with the electronic aids killing away the mt 07 sells. I got one with a thousand miles on it for 6200 € euros, just a steal from the Honda dealership.
Price of this bikes in India:
Aprilia RSV4- $38k
Trimph Speed 400- $2.7k
Yamaha MT09- $14.5k
GSX S1000- $15k
Husqvarna Svartpilen 301- $3.5k
Kawasaki KLR 650- $9k
CF Moto 450ss - $3k
Honda Navi- $550 (Discontinued)
Royal Enfield Himalayan- $3.4k
Honda Transalp- $13k
It's almost double the price difference for the bikes that are manufactured and not manufactured in India
