- Elon Musk thinks we are most likely in a simulation, because we exist. If you assume any rate of improvement at all, then games will be indistinguishable from reality, or civilization will end. One of those two things will occur. A computer simulation according to Elon Musk seems to be the best explanation for how we got here without being in a simulation. According to Elon Musk there’s a billion to one chance we’re living in base reality.
There is a very good chance that we are living in a computer simulation. The computer simulation theory holds that all of reality as we know it is an artificial construct created by an advanced civilization. There is evidence that computer games are more complex and realistic every year and so it seems very likely that the future of computer logic will simulate worlds that are indistinguishable from ours.
Could this advancement of computers eventually lead to a simulated reality that is indistinguishable from our own? The answer is that we don’t know what the future of computers will be, but the fact that we are already close to producing photorealistic images in real time indicates that things are moving in that direction.
Complete immersion in a virtual world is no longer a pipe dream - it is very close to being an everyday reality. The next step is that we will place our brains into a computer simulation where we can sense, experience, and interact completely with our world.

Trust me when I tell you I had out of body experience and is amazing, is better than this world. We are not our brains, we actually have an Astral body that is connected to this earthly flesh. You can reach this state with practice too, there are levels to it.
You will know when you are about to Astral project, there is a high pitch sound that will freak you out if you are an amateur which most people will be scared of shitless which is why many cant pass over with full awareness, I think that high pitch sound is for safety reasons just in case the person about to project don't hurt themselves mentally.
But once you are familiar with it, you will pass over to full body shaking sensations to your core, not physical, is another layer of protection to scare you off, but if you stay calm and keep concentrating on detaching you will eventually do, then everything will make sense but at the same thing have deeper questions like what are we doing here?
Anyways, you probably think I am crazy until you try it, I thought the same thing until it happened to me after practicing meditation, I try to meditate 5 minutes a day, reduce your fluoride intake, focus on breathing after a good sleep while laying down. You cant Astral project if you are tired, you will fall asleep. Good luck!

@@CastleKnight7 My astral body is way too intelligent to seek the void(which doesn't exist) if you come with this type of mindset you will end up in a low vibration realm, you really don't wanna go there.
Plus, I want to share this experience I had recently, it is interesting how my astral body always wants to be back to this world, sometimes it just lays on top of my flesh body until it's connected. This is funny to me because when I am awake I want to astral project but when I am astral projecting I want to be back here again, we can't escape it.

If we lived in a simulation, the creators of that simulation would not at all be concerned with realism or it being identical to base reality, because it doesn't have to. Our hypothetical simulated reality could be a really dumbed down version of the base reality, but since this is the ONLY reality we know, we have no way of being sure it's fake until we exit the simulation. It's like how you usually can't recognize that you're dreaming, but after you wake up, it's very obvious that it was a dream because it was extremely unrealistic.

I don't know if its possible. The objective of this illusion is to evolve our consciousness--become better individuals with more empathy, and realization all our earthly wants are part of the illusion.
To stop playing by the rules can bring about consequences. Some of these rules pertain to universal laws both scientific and otherwise. You come to this world through birth, leave through death (onto another). There are "hacks" but many are hidden or there is a lack of knowledge about these (for good reason).
If you think you stop playing the game by the rules all you might be doing is accumulating bad karma. Still if you think there is a safe way to stop playing by the rules let everyone know.

However, would AI reduce or increase many more already modern's man problems; improve all individual to become better oneself, physically, psychological, all meaningful aspects, (of happiness, longevity, and immortality), or merely makes their life a lot more easy, convenient, comfortable, fulfilling personal self-satisfaction, and laziness?
2) Ultimately, if AI could not help improve all individual's health, intelligence, virtue wisdom, morality, and longevity; then why should they put in so much work, hope, expectation, and promises? Altc

The concept that our reality is in a simulation is no different than the random concept of, say, that we live in a world which is the dream of an autistic elephant.
Computers are constructs from our reality. Elephants are also constructs from our reality. Who is to say that we are not being dreamed up by some sort of extremely sophisticated elephant alien from an alternate reality? No one.
I recently read an interesting, more scientific and less childish theory, that our entire universe could possibly be inside of a black hole that resides inside a different universe... Which in turn could reside itself within a black hole in a different universe.
I signed up to be as far-fetched as the simulation idea, but at least it has got some common sense to it.
If we were simulated constructs, that means we would basically be someone else's toys.
When somebody shows me that "someone" and I can see them "playing with us", I will believe we are toys.

The reality is much more dark and much more confusing and hard to accept: it takes a grown mind and an adult emotionally to accept that our existence has no real purpose that we can understand or fathom.

As a kid, I use to look up into the sky and ask myself, is this real? Am I real? Is that person over there thinking the same as I am? I’d stare off into space, like a deep stare, get lost almost and then boom, felt like I got jolted back down into the “reality” I was in. Idk what that meant or means but has anyone else ever felt or done that. Like someone had to convince me that yes this is real

I find these types of questions fascinating and even more so, the theories that very smart people come up with. As a lay-person, I have no clue as to whether we’re in a simulation or not but the argument that we are is definitely plausible.

When games become photoreal in 10 years it will be impossible to deny the possibility of simulation. This is only the beginning. I predict that the fear of living in a simulation will reach mainstream consciousness when people look at games and reality side by side and see no difference.
When we reach the point where reality becomes an inconvenience or a distraction, we'll know we've arrived.

MBTI personality testing has its issues, but I wonder if you are the same type as I am. You’re definitely an N type, and I have found that it’s the S types that especially don’t seem to question much of anything about our reality or who can just kind of take it all at face value. At times, I really envy that. I’m never in the present moment it seems.

A long time ago I had an idea. The idea was that in a distant future when Earth no longer exists people from the future will go to museums or children in classrooms would learn about what the Earth was like in the past by using virtual reality. I wondered if that was what I was experiencing. When the program ends we die and wake up to the reality that we're actually in a museum or a classroom where we've been experiencing a virtual reality about what the Earth was like millions of years ago.
The video made me think about how our dreams are microsimulations designed by our own brains and when we're dreaming, we don't notice that at the moment it is happening. I had a clinical death a few times, but one time I experienced meeting 3 people. I didn’t recognise them, yet they seemed very close to me. Anyway we sat on what I can only describe as a lounge made of beams of colour and we watched my entire life on a fast spinning sphere. We laughed at the worst bits like it was a joke. We laughed at my reactions to traumas. Everything seemed like I was just watching a character I was disassociated from yet it was me. Next thing I was back surrounded by panicked nurses. So I don’t know if I went somewhere or if my brain was just starved of oxygen and I had a lucid dream. 🤕

As real as the experience seemed I easily brushed it off as a lucid dream probably brought on by either shock, lack of oxygen to my brain or some medication they injected me with. When I came too I was connected to an electric vital sign monitor and had an IV drip. I was extremely lethargic and dazed.

The difference between a simulation and reality is the ability to create reality. If the universe is a simulation and we exist in the universe then we are also simulated. Simulations can not conceive the creation of an object then bring that object into existence by transforming one substance into another.
I had a extremely real (felt more real this being awake) “lucid dream” where I went from a normal dream flew into a sitting position trying to breathe and there were these other individuals pushing me back down and then I went back into my previous dream. I remember there was all this equipment around me and due to it happening so fast I never saw the other’s faces. It reminded me of exactly years ago when I woke up from anesthesia after surgery when I was younger waking up and the hospital staff had to give me a shot of tranquilizer to make me fall back asleep. However this “lucid dream” has haunted me since and I still wonder if I was waking up from the simulation.
It’s very possible you’ve actually woken up from the simulation, even if for a very short while, and then was put back to “sleep” again.
It is more likely a dream, since no one has proven a simulation to exist.

The central issue here is epistemological. The "ghost in the machine" epistemological principle has been around since Descartes and despite all of our progress and growth, we are still bumbling around in that reference frame. Our first known experience of the simulation was the development of abstract thinking from which the formulation of "self" as differentiated from "other", is possible. It is what distinguishes us from animals. An animal encounters a problem (eg how to get the food out of the container), and through trial and error will attempt different ways to solve the problem until it is either solved or the animal gives up. A sentient being encounters a problem and it internally simulates (imagines) multiple possible solutions until the one that seems like it will work is tried. That takes a fraction of the time of trial and error. The scary part is that the formulation "self" IS the simulation. That such a thing exists only because we have thought, have intended, it into existence. But then you get to how to define reality. Do we make it or is it something we are subject to absolutely? Is there any good reason that both are not true? Again: self= ghost, machine = reality. Science cannot go beyond the range determined by epistemology because epistemology is where the terms are defined and the principles which orient the reference frame are forged. Husserl is the way out. We must "go back" and then transcend his epistemology to go much further than we already have, scientifically.

Brings back a memory, I was aware when coming in to this life, and remember when becoming conscious. When I started to enter life, everything was dark I couldn't see, in the middle of the darkness a small white dot appeared. I heard a lady in the darkest saying my name over and over and saying come here. At the time I didn't realize it was my name she was saying.
As she continues that white dot got bigger slowly to the point it over came the darkness that surrounded me, and was a unexplainable flash of light that happen. I appeared to be outside on a dead tree, the lady was my mother telling me to get off it.
Then I seen kids poking something with a stick, I went to them, was a dead crow being eaten by maggots, I was Introduced to life and death right away.
I'm starting to believe that we are a simulation used by a far more advanced society as part of their daily lives to aid with decision making. We ourselves are now almost at the point where we could use advanced A.I to calculate the odd's of success in our ventures and in general daily decision making, If we were a simulation then a computer would not even need to create a scenario to calculate odds, it could extrapolate data from us in real-time from scenarios happening all over the world at the same time.

This is very compelling. And I don’t know what answer I believe more to be true- very interesting. I do have a question though, and am open to hearing people’s opinions- If we were just a simulation, and we are just characters coded to believe that we have free will etc- then why are we coded to feel pain and psychological torment and all the other unpleasant things that accompany the human experience; like I understand the thought of just being a person invented with code and made to believe I have free will- but I know that all the pain and suffering I have experienced in my lifetime, or watching others experience, seems too real to be simply coded by a parent civilization/ or intelligent being. @@amartinezsilberstein Because if we consider what's outside our reality to be the "true" reality, or the computer which simulates reality, then integrating with a computer would be the one and only way to ever understand what reality really is. Elon hints at this in his interviews and is developing neuralink to achieve that goal. The outcome is dire and I think it's quite weird that Elon puts himself forward as the only one who is willing to contain artificial intelligence, when in reality he is developing the means for AI to directly access your mind. No, Mr. Musk, reality is not a simulation.
When sword art online got the point of the VR experience where he links in and loses all his outside knowledge until he's back from the VR world. They tell the tale of this evolution in a spot on eerie way. I feel like that was just the ones in the know showing us what's in store. It's fantastic.
If we play a video game, when we are injured we feel no pain, physically. If reality is a simulation, how come we feel pain?
You didn't take this very far did you.... You can blow off someones leg in a computer game - why couldn't the game character feel pain? It could be programmed like everything else. Nobody is saying that you are a physical person connected to some simulation with vr glasses.. they are saying the entire universe we live in, and all of us are merely a bunch of programs, and every aspect of a program can be controlled. In fact, maybe if there are real humans outside the simulation, they have 20 or 30 senses but we as a simulation only got a few senses to simplify the code, so we are stuck with vision, hearing, touch, smell, taste.
I'm attracted to the Simulation Hypothesis because I've never been satisfied with Quantum Theory or the Planck Length. Those concepts represent a digital existence, and I cannot shake the feeling that "true" reality can only be analog and infinite.

If I remember correctly, Nick Bostrom talked about ancestor simulations. He said one of the three is true:
1. We are in a base reality, where humans did not yet develop the technology of creating an ancestor simulation.
2. Humans developed the technology of ancestor simulation, but decided not to create ones from ethical perspective.
3. There are a very large number of ancestor simulations (meaning we are in a such)
And then he messed up big times about statistics in my opinion. ;)

We have been programmed to be conscious. When other systems send information to the conscious screen in your mind it appears like a coincidence. Study internal modelling and you will see it. I don't know where to start as I did it for years but maybe the Jose Silva method or TM or Vipassana or something I don't know as they all have positives and negatives.

When you dig deeper and deeper into your own psyche you'll eventually dig deep enough to find nothing, which is everything. You are the universe experiencing it's self. If we are in a simulation, then the same can be said about what is "outside" of the simulation - therefor everything is a simulation, and when everything is a simulation there essentially is no simulation. If we can find no difference between reality and simulation, then neither exist as both are the same.
The end result is we are living in reality, only perhaps we have understood what it is a bit more.

Very good video, food for thought. If a mathematician could find a string of numbers in any natural formula that translates to "Push for tech support" it might indicate we live in a Simulation. Until then, it is just a concept that is very hard to believe.

This is one of my favorite speculative contemplations. My thoughts lately go with the idea the there is no Free Will. Paths seem laid out. It’s almost as if I’m testing realities for a higher self version of me.
A movie named Jason and the Argonauts shows what I mean as the Greek Gods create clay sculpture that they bring to life under a cloudy dome set on a pedestal.
I’m playing with the idea of using the Law of Attraction to change my level of play as if multiple successively better realities lay upstream, so to speak.
This is an interesting dilemma. Determinism vs. free will is always on my mind. I'd say it was my first existential crisis. When it really hit me, I sat on the couch and looked out the window and pretty much did nothing for an entire week. I just kept thinking about how my "choices" are not my own, but rather an illusion of a causally deterministic universe.
Verdict is still out on that one. I'm not sure if anything I think or do is mine at all. Maybe I'm not a "master of my own destiny." I like to imagine that I'm at least living in a probabilistically deterministic universe, because at least that gives me some wiggle room, but who knows?
What I REALLY like here is your concept of successively better realities upstream (upstream is an excellent choice of wordage there) and how the "law of attraction" could lead you to those. That's a beautiful idea.

Information can be found on the dark web, but there is too much sick shit there I don't suggest snooping around too much. I do suggest youtubing some 3rd eye guided meditation videos at night with headphones on so you can focus. I have only been able to break out of this reality maybe once or twice and it goes by so fast. I keep trying to find that place again, I want to go back so desperately. My only advice is learn to develop a spirit guide and do not fuck around with other dimensions, it will break your mind. Or maybe I am just crazy or full of self delusion? I don't know, I feel like the world is changing and those of us that awaken will soon leave those that refuse to wake up behind. You will notice people start disapearing from your life. @@GTJW22409 Ya know, I've done a fair amount of acid, and I was always just on the other side of something. Like a very thin veil that I could almost just pass through, but not quite. I could definitely kind of..see the architecture, though. Like I could see "the code" that made up this reality. It was incredible. I was so close, man. Sooo close.

I have a couple of things I would like to add...I am myself a diehard gamer and early adopter of everything. For example we (fiancee and I) have both the Xbox Series X and PS5 in our home as I type this. As a gamer I can say that we are getting very close to photorealism with each subsequent generation. However, I take issue with the notion that it may become hard to distinguish reality from gaming to the point we will lose sight of our history as a result of a technologically advanced games. The reason for this is fairly simple as gaming is a form of escapism. Games that mimic real life without any deviation from a reality setting are seldom seen as entertaining or engaging. Reality has to be bent to a certain extent in order for a game to keep players engaged. Once reality is broken even the most unintelligent among us can distinguish between games and real life. That is only scratching the surface...
In order for games to take on a truly realistic quality one would need far more than stunning visuals to accomplish this. You would need to immerse players in not only sight and sound but touch, temperature, pain, the fear of death, movement (height, falling), centrifugal force, and so much more. The computing power for such a feet does not exist and dare I say not for a very longtime. There have been a few films and TV shows that depict something like this but as I see it...it will forever be made as an escape from reality not become it.
Neil later changed his mind when another guy convinced him that there are actually two possibilities of we are in a simulation, either we would be the very first simulation or the very last simulation but we wouldn't be in one of the ones in between.
