I’ve deleted the game from my Switch MANY times out of pure frustration towards the solo rank experience. Yet, I always reinstalled it because the core gameplay experience is just that good and fun. My latest rage quit of the game, however, truly feels like the final nail in the coffin. It was different, I felt completely empty after deleting the game, and I still feel that way in regards to the game. I feel no desire to return as I know that the core issues of the game will probably never be addressed. Great video btw, I like the psychological approach to understanding the down fall of unite. 👍
This game has a major problem: ranking system. Gameplay is fun, the majority of Pokemon is well designed and the animations are amazing. But a moba MUST have a meritocratic ranking system where who want to grind should not be forced to play in the highest rank, with or vs
Absolutely, the matches have no quality, because they pair the best players with the worst, not the best with the best and the worst with the worst, like it should be.
@@Berg-yg3ib The current system penalizes good players, who instead of being rewarded for improving, are matched with players who don't even know the basics of the game. Pokemon Unite implicitly encourages the best players to quit the game, it is not meritocratic and there is no reason to grind. They should really rework rankings system as soon as possible, cause right now this game is just toxic.
I think the biggest unite problem now, by FAR, is the matchmaking. The solo Q experience is miserable. The better you are, the worst are your teammates. They should do a proper ranked system like every other competitive game, so bronze players match against each other and diamond players match against each other. Or at least separate the players with 50%+ winrate from 50%- winrate.
Love the in depth analytical take on this. As a regular player struggling to want to keep playing and trying to figure out why this may be, I really appreciate you making this video. Also the kitty was adorable lol
Very interesting and informative video! After playing the game pretty consistently for 2 years I took a huge break from unite back when the Mewtwos were released, as I already was burnt out from the Zacian Comfey meta and did not have the energy to deal with it again when the Mewtwos got added. Recently got back into it again though as I missed playing with my Unite friends, noticing I didn't have much contact with them anymore after I dropped the game. Also Falinks got announced, and I can't ignore my little guys.

i simply want to run around as my little gremlin, cant make me stop. lmaooo. but they need more patches, and perhaps a bit more frequent releases, or at least hype around the ones coming.
They should rework on mic banning. coordination is must in this game and there is no way to coordinate thats wild (i told my teammate to come for ray instead of scoring)
Over priced. Balancing. Paid for events(which were formerly free). Pay to win with newer Mons. Draft being Masters only. Losing the ability to message friends outside of lobbies. Zapdos/Rayquaza being coin flip win cons. BattlePass quality tanking heavily(Six Pokebuki styles and Year of the Dragon Gardevoir). Poor Optimization. I used to stream the game, my highest rank was M-2400. I can't play this game anymore since the devs have shifted into aggressive monetization and less into actual game issues. If I run the game through BlueStacks on PC I get 60 frames with next to no lag or stutter. On console... it's rough. Five back to back All-Rounders to boot with no Supports or Defenders upcoming. I could go on.
You sir, came across as a experienced gamer, who KNOWS their business. @@Fabio-ji9ve Indeed! It's sad reading some of these other comments. Given an inferior product, instead of complaining, they open up their wallets and ask for more.
