Welcome to Taiwan! Glad to see you both love taiwanese food. Next time you must take a longer trip to visit south Taiwan. It's a totally different atmosphere here. Love you both~~~
Thanks for sharing your trip to Taipei with us! You look amazing without makeup too! That Hello Kitty airplane was so charming. I'm so glad that you were able to have a little getaway with Tatsu and have some fun food adventures.
Another amazing video with you and Tatsu and of course amazing looking food! 😁 👍 Thank you for uploading such amazing videos. I always look forward to them 😊
Ugh! I envy you! You two have a great chemistry together, it always looks like you are having fun, without really pushing yourself to have fun and do interestingt stuff for the views or so. I really like that, just stay like you are, I am so happy to see one of your videos, I was bored the whole day and finally something good came up. ;) The airbnb looks AWESOME. I already followed your instagram story, so I knew how it looks but... Wow, this is like a apartment goal, wish I would live in such a place! :D You got me really hungry for pita! Best wishes to both of you!
Haha, I keep spoiling my content by posting it on Instagram first, but I'm so impulsive and I always want to share everything in the moment! Thanks for watching the video even though you probably already know pretty much everything we did. Haha.
Oh, wow I wanna fly in the Hello Kitty plane😱😱😱😻 Your Airbnb looks so peaceful. I bet it was awesome to wake up to that scenery each day. The food looked great, thanks for all you and Tatsu do.
Ouhhhh I loved it so much !!!!! I want to see more of your journey in Taiwan! I love your work on video and you are such an amazing woman simple; honest and beautiful.
your air b&b choice looks so nice - comfortable and open yet private and peaceful. and the food - mouthwatering appeal! thank you for sharing your adventure - enjoy your time together!
on the way back from a philippines trip, i rode one of the eva air gudetama planes to taipei... cutest plane ever (not to mention the overall service of eva is wonderful). loved the video!!! definitely should have explored taipei before i left!
i love watching you because you're such a sweet person. but most of all, you're like me! you love food. i feel like you are my best friend lol i love traveling around the world but mostly i get excited for the food!
Tatsu can speak, i'm guessing fluent Chinese, too? Also I need to go back to Taiwan... I really miss the food and atmosphere. Glad you can have a nice 3 day trip have fun!
+Allen Jou I'm not sure if he can speak fluent Chinese, since I can't understand it at all. He says he has forgotten most of it, since he only spoke it when he was a child, but still, we would have been lost without his skills.
Hi! I do comment first time. Nice to meet Micaela & Tatsu :) I waited your video! Thanks for sharing this! I have been in Vancouver six months ago from Osaka. My husband and I will visit to Japan this year. We wanna go travel then Taiwan too! I really like you guys. Thank you for uploaded the video ;)
My Bosnian blood got excited when you said you got pita, but it was nothing like a Bosnian pita! It looked delicious though I wish I could try it :) I'm glad you two got this trip together too it looks like you're having fun together, thats great :D
the hello kitty flight holymoly. so. cute. Glad to see you guys enjoyed your stay there. ^^ Your videos never fail to get me hungry no matter the main theme, haha.
Thanks for a lovely vlog again! I really love your travel vlogs, in all the formats that you use, I can't wait to see more of Taipei if you've vlogged more :)
Welcome to Taiwan~~~ Enjoyed this video very much. By the way, there is not Shi-Da Night Market(師大夜市), Shi-Da(National Taiwan Normal University) is far away tho .
you are super beautiful without make up! I was almost disapointed that you put some 😯 It's a cultural thing i guess, i never saw girls without make up in Japan but in my country it is normal. Also pitta are sooo common in Belgium, it is like everyday food so it is funny to see that it is exotic for someone else 😃 Happy birthday!!
OMG all hello kitty so cuuute! XD my sis-in-law love so much hello kitty that she married with a jewellery parure, the outfit and all in the dinner hello kitty related lol. she's crazy about it. btw you're really beautiful without make up!!!
glad I am eating an awesome Ratatouille flatbread while watching this 😆 and Oh I loooove pita Falafel. We have a really good Store in Vienna that sells them.
Omg the place you stayed at and the food looks amazing!!!! Even the drink!!! 😍😍😍😍😻💕 I wonder if there is a recipe for the brown sugar mango cookies!! 😮
+Hanayanaa those are both good choices! Depends on what you're looking for--also where you go in Thailand. I would say Thailand is a little more dishonest and dangerous, but more people speak English in the big cities there...
Micaela's Japanese Life yeah... I'm trying to fig that out. for now, looking at the prices for flights and Taiwan is looking more like a possibility for March. I do love food too but I don't eat pork or beef like that. I don't know much of either countries cuisine yet but will look it up. And I like seeing pretty sites. just wanna step out of my comfort zone and do a solo trip outside of Japan. been here almost 6 years and haven't ventured out yet.
+Hanayanaa I did a solo trip to Bangkok a few years ago when I was going through a tough time, and I got around just fine. The weather was nice, the food was cheap and amazing, and sightseeing was a lot of fun... it might be good if you stay at a hostel and hook up with other solo travelers so you can stick together though--- I had one incident on my own where I go in a taxi and the driver shut off the meter and tried to get me to pay his own price... and wouldn't let me out when I refused... and that put me in a bad mood for a day. You have to be really careful, especially because they know tourists have money.
Hanayanaa Just jumping in here but I've just come back from a solo trip to Taiwan and I loved it. I felt safe everywhere I went regardless of the time of day and even with my limited mandarin (literally hello, thank you and sorry) I managed okay. Most people are really helpful and google translate is handy for when you get stuck. I also didn't get stared at in the street, which I find happens in some places. I'd go back to Taiwan in a heartbeat (oh, and there's loads of vegetarian options because the Monks don't eat meat, so there'll be other options to pork/beef) tl:Dr Taiwan 100%
Nice video! I miss Chinese food so much.. All Chinese food in japan tastes sweet( Tatsu's Mandarin is pretty good! Without it it's hard to travel in Mainland China or Taiwan..
+Lanttimatkat Hehe, I've been living in Kyushu for 11 years now! I was an exchange student (in Miyazaki) when I first came over but now I just sorta live there. I graduated from Fukuoka School of Music in 2012, I used to belong to a talent agency and I did TV, events, and I was a morning personality on KBC radio for about 1.5 years, but I quit everything last year because I didn't enjoy it, so I'm not really doing much of anything anymore. Just the occasional gig to cover expenses.
At the start of the airbnb tour, I thought I saw my apartment complex, buuuut I didn't. Everything can look so similar here haha Aa, I've yet to go to that cookie place but my friends really love it. I've gotten Sababa many-a-times though. Good stuff. And milk teas, looove the prices here! I tend to go to a chain because there's a location close to me (Coco's) and I decided to check out their LA location when I went back last year. $1 (35ntd) here, almost $6(usd) there! Ridiculous
+我叫Miki haha, it's like Ichiran Ramen in Fukuoka, I guess. You can get it at the restaurant for $7-8 dollars here but then their overseas branches charge $15-16 a bowl. Haha.
my friend is going to Taipei in February to watch her son skate in a competition and i was wondering if you can recommend anything for her to go see and what you think is a good omiyage?
Traveling around the world and eating all sorts of different types of food. That is my dream job. Question: Do you ever wonder about the safety of street food?
+Goforbad Evilbad That's a good question! One thing I have to worry about is allergies--I don't have a specific food allergy (I'm not sure what it is) but in Korea, and also this time in Taiwan, I ate something that made my face really itchy and I can't pinpoint what it is, but my body is sensitive so it could be anything. Hungry Micaela- neat place to stay! Hello Kitty Airplane, who knew? And, I'm learning to prefer little or no makeup - you don't really need it. I know many women don't feel that way, but I find it more attractive, somehow.

The amazing thing is Tatsu speak Mandarin so well !
He is Half Chinese, Half Japanese
The fact that the whole flight was hello Kitty makes my heart happy.
Still, I wonder how many pillows are left after a flight :p
Right? haha!
Haha, I have a feeling the salarymen left their pillows behind. ;p
Micaela's Japanese Life well at least someone did. 😂😂😂
Tatsu speaks mandarin really well. Must be handy to travel w him
+Simon Au Yes, I feel left out when he speaks Chinese because it's the only language I can't understand him in :(
The Hello Kitty flight seemed amazing. Haha at Tatsu's magic trick.
+MeaThe Wingsboo I'm even more surprised it's a Taiwanese Airplane and not a Japanese one. Taipei airport even had a Hello Kitty lounge haha.
Fan from Taipei here! Thumbs up for Taiwan! Hope you guys enjoy the trip!
Go Tatsu for being trilingual!!!!
Welcome to Taiwan! Glad to see you both love taiwanese food. Next time you must take a longer trip to visit south Taiwan. It's a totally different atmosphere here. Love you both~~~

Holy crap, Tatsu's Chinese is on point! He's got the tones perfect and everything.
+HappyBivouac Hehe, he was born in China, and although his first language is Japanese, both of his parents speak both languages. :)
The hello kitty bow shaped carrot on the rice was so cute!
Another amazing video with you and Tatsu and of course amazing looking food! 😁 👍 Thank you for uploading such amazing videos. I always look forward to them 😊
We can walk there while playing Pokémon Go. Totally something I would say! :D
Glad you got to relax together for a couple of days!
Walcome to Taiwan!
That flight looked so fun! People love Hello Kitty! :D
Ugh! I envy you! You two have a great chemistry together, it always looks like you are having fun, without really pushing yourself to have fun and do interestingt stuff for the views or so. Yeah... kinda knew everything already ;D But I still enjoy your vlogs/vids so I guess it's a win/win situation for us both! :D
Oh, wow I wanna fly in the Hello Kitty plane😱😱😱😻

Now I have to make my lunch because this video made me so hungry!!
It looks like you had a lot of fun on this trip 😁
Tatsu can speak, i'm guessing fluent Chinese, too? Also I need to go back to Taiwan... I really miss the food and atmosphere. Glad you can have a nice 3 day trip have fun!
+Allen Jou I'm not sure if he can speak fluent Chinese, since I can't understand it at all. He says he has forgotten most of it, since he only spoke it when he was a child, but still, we would have been lost without his skills.

Yessss looking forward to MORE FOOD!!!
My Bosnian blood got excited when you said you got pita, but it was nothing like a Bosnian pita! It looked delicious though I wish I could try it :) I'm glad you two got this trip together too it looks like you're having fun together, thats great :D

Haha, we really really like to eat.
Loved this video! I am going to Taiwan in a few weeks and you just gave me some new ideas for what to snack on in Taipei. That guabao looked amazing!
+Josie Losh I have two more videos and I'm sure there will be things that you'll be interested in in them too. This time everything we did was fun!
Bubble tea always reminds me of Canada😂
Haha, omg, you just made me remember how it used to be cool and cultured to be into bubble tea.
Sharmander Love Bubble tea here in Ontario! I try to have it when I get the chance!! I like to try different flavors each time😊

Absolutely amazing ... yes, you both are ❣
That good looks amazing! I'm so hungry now
oh my god, tatsu eating the bao nearly MURDERED me with adorableness. i like seeing you two be happy :)
+treeofjessie He looked so happy to eat that bao. It was like It was everything he dreamed of during the five minutes it took to walk there. Haha.
Micaela's Japanese Life well I'm glad he got to see his dreams fulfilled then hahaha
you are super beautiful without make up! I was almost disapointed that you put some 😯 It's a cultural thing i guess, i never saw girls without make up in Japan but in my country it is normal. +Noelle Princess I need to find this out too! Those cookies were so so so good.
Micaela's Japanese Life omg you messages me back!! Was not expecting that!! ☺️thanks you made my day!! 💕love all ur videos!
Is Tatsu a Japanese? I'm really impressed that he speaks English and Chinese Mandarin flawlessly & fluently :-P
so glad I'm seeing this now. Was thinking between Thailand or Taiwan for my solo trip in March.
+Hanayanaa those are both good choices! Depends on what you're looking for--also where you go in Thailand. I would say Thailand is a little more dishonest and dangerous, but more people speak English in the big cities there...

Micaela's Japanese Life thanks for this. Ill keep that in mind and do more research online for places to stay. 😸😸

Tatsu CAN speak Chinese! いいですね〜
Isn't he a Taiwanese living in Japan? He speaks like a local Taiwanese.
+eightbighillman Hahaha he's half Chinese, but Japanese is his first language and he has Japanese nationality. He was born in Beijing though.
I was born in Beijing too. All Taiwan is China anyway
+Hero Hour Taiwan is a part of China that has never been ruined by PRC. We'll do everything we can to let it stay that way.
hiroanz, awesome. It doesn't matter how and what you feel. What matters is historically and politically, it's a part of China.
What a great trip!! This made me miss Chinese food and language so much😅
Hope you had a good rest💕
P.s. You look amazing without make-up ⌓̈
Tatsu about lamb: "it's kinda stinky and tastes kinda weird" 😂😂 I'm crying and trying hard not to wake up my family 😂
+Ostekagerne8D Haha in Japanese they have a word to describe meats with strong tastes/flavors "kusami", I think he was trying to say that in English.
Nice video! I miss Chinese food so much.. All Chinese food in japan tastes sweet(
Tatsu's Mandarin is pretty good! Without it it's hard to travel in Mainland China or Taiwan..
Love your videos! Can you upload the background audio you used in this video, as well as the ones from the vlogmas videos??
Welcome to Taiwan~~~
All foods look so yummy 🐙🐙
Michaela you still look amazing without make up ;)
I do love your video:) I enjoy a lot every time ! someday i wanna try a guest house in overseas too
great vid!
Okay, who decided FUK would be an acceptable airport code for Fukuoka airport?
PapaQ 😂😂😂
I've been there 8 times. I miss Taiwan. He seems speaking Mandarin, not Taiwanese. Didn't you try Xiaolongbao?
Omg, I love Eva Air.
Oh wow, that is so cool! I love Kyushu. That explains why your Japanese sounds so natural. :-)
At the start of the airbnb tour, I thought I saw my apartment complex, buuuut I didn't. Everything can look so similar here haha
Aa, I've yet to go to that cookie place but my friends really love it.
Haha.
Michaela and Tatsu .... sigh. Wish I can replace one of them, Tatsu (of course)! Enjoy!! 😉
my friend is going to Taipei in February to watch her son skate in a competition and i was wondering if you can recommend anything for her to go see and what you think is a good omiyage?
Traveling around the world and eating all sorts of different types of food. That is my dream job.
Question: Do you ever wonder about the safety of street food?
+Goforbad Evilbad That's a good question! One thing I have to worry about is allergies--I don't have a specific food allergy (I'm not sure what it is) but in Korea, and also this time in Taiwan, I ate something that made my face really itchy and I can't pinpoint what it is, but my body is sensitive so it could be anything. It doesn't stop me from trying everything anyway. If someone had a bad allergy to anything food related I wouldn't recommend it since cross contamination is very common in an open space like that.
For most people though, I think you can usually trust food stalls that are popular or seem to have long lineups. They're the ones that have established seniority and some sort of reputation for what they're selling. We always judged a restaurant or food stall by it's crowd, and if it looked like something everyone else was getting--we'd try it too!
I love that you credit Tatsu as a dancer in the description (^o^)
Haha, you noticed! ;p
So... did you stock up on any pineapple goodies as snacks? and also Lunar New Year goodies as well?
Welcome to New Taipei city ^^
Never watch a vid from micaela when you are hungry hahahaha :)
Hungry Micaela- neat place to stay! Hello Kitty Airplane, who knew? And, I'm learning to prefer little or no makeup - you don't really need it. I know many women don't feel that way, but I find it more attractive, somehow.
Ohh street food is making me hungry 😋
Tatsu's mandarin is very good~
Hi~
This is not the "Shi-Da" night market, but the "Gong-Guan" night market.
The Shi-Da night market is about 1km away from there.
(The place is familiar for I work in the University across the road lol)
Well, to be exact, the night market should be called "Tai-Da" night market. The bubble tea drink you had is called "陳三鼎黑糖粉圓鮮奶" which is the best around the area.
給我那個割包! Give me that guabao! It looks so good!!!
Mr. Google says yes. But I think there are just a few places that offer it.
lol at Tatsu's impromptu magic trick xD
Hey Micaela! You two make the cutest couple!!! Would it be possible to write or tell us the price of things you buy? Like that Bao food looks yummy.
+Odgin its in the description....
Oh sorry. Most people don't read those as you can see!
i honestly would steal all those hello kitty plane items. if not that take billions of photos!
Thanks for causing me to drool....that pork burger thing looked orgasmic.
Wow your boyfriend speaks Mandarin? Very talented!
8:12 It's not Bubble tea(珍珠奶茶) ,it's 青蛙撞奶made by (brown sugar) tapioca & Milk.^_^
今は流行ってる
黑糖珍珠鮮奶 bubble brown sugar milk
黑糖珍珠拿鐵 bubble brown sugar latte
鮮奶、拿鐵 means 牛乳.
I like Tatsu said we can walk and play Pokémon Go
