Happpy for you that you think the Timber is wonderful. I bought one recently and compared to the FMS Ranger 1800mm the Timber is a piece of junk, and would not recomend it to my worst enemy. Problems you will run into with the Timber Evo overheating ESC, burning out the cheap servos, Landinggear failing, Motor coming lose from the carbon rods, The list of faults on the timber is endless, if you dont believe me look here on YT.
For nearly the same price you can buy the FMS Ranger, Ball link's on all the servos, so no play on control services, half the weight of the Timber, and quiek connectors in the wings,
And up to now no negative experience with the FMS Ranger, highly recomend this plane
Well my assessment is based upon my plane and my flights with the timber Turbo Evo. I have no affiliation with HH or Eflite I pay full price for my Eflite planes like every one else.. But to be fair I dont fly any one of my planes all that much But I fly a lot just a lot of different planes. really. so perhaps my TEVO has not gotten to that point yet. I have as you know encountered the ESC overheating issue. So I dont disagree with you but my Tevo has been awesome ...so far... . I totally agree with you about the FMS Ranger 1800 it totally rocks and for what you get it is a better value. I am hoping that HobbyZone will want me to review one!!! LOL hint hint Hobbyzone in case you read this!!!
mine burnt out the ESC and motor . Had to make some air vents and stuff and now its OK but the motor still gets a little hot if i fly it too much
The best way to prevent it is to leap frog your planes. Take 2 planes or more and then fly one after the other or wait at least 5 minutes between flights to allow the ESC to cool.

I'm at a cross roads I need to upgrade my TX and im torn between radiomaster tx16s with opentx that now has forward programming with spektum or getting a nx10. Also deciding between the new twinber 1.6 or this timber evolution 😂, to many choices
I cannot advise you on the radiomaster. I have only Spektrum products and love them. As far as the TTevo vs the Twin Timber my Twin is on order and I adore the TTevo. So I really cant help their either...sorry.

Dont get the Timber, bad quality, reviewers that have a link to the supplier will always say it a great plane. There is just to much wrong with it still

Are those vents 3D printed? I have only one worry adding those...if you add floats, water getting in there
No they are from a crashed Arrows Rc marlin. And as far as the bottom one, it does not matter to me, I have no planes to fly her on the water.
There is a bulletin out on this model. Regarding the esc getting to hot and going into Thermal Protection mode which reduces power down to 60 percent. It's instructed to move the esc forward. I suspect you are already aware of that hence the air scoops ?

Yeah on my maiden when i opened the battery hatch I could feel the heat coming off the ESC so I just attributed it to hot Florida weather. So I took these steps before they came out with the fix.

Yes its a ten channel transmitter.
where did you get the vents?
They were from a crashed arrows marlin. They were the cheater vents.
