    I'm still on my 1st plane - UMX TimberX- and I love it. It's basically all Foam2Foam and HD packing tape by now. But it's just so much fun. Can't wait to graduate to one of these bad boys. Great video! Thanks so much. Hopefully I see you guys next time I'm in Hanger18 in Cary 👍

      The Umx tte is such a boring plane for me. Absolutely not capable of any 3d due to the extremely low control authority and super slllooowww roll rate. It seems like the larger version doesn’t suffer the same issue.

      @@johnd9357 Dang, sorry you feel that way. I still love mine and rolls great with 100% rates. But I don't think the main goal of the umx tte is to 3d, I think it's to STOL in a very small package.

    Very good comparison. Being new into the hobby I'm not really sure which one I would pick over the other first. As you demonstrated they both have their pros and cons like anything else. (TTE) The alaron and flap control arms are completely different stock from factory. Also ESC is moved forward and lot of lead from batt to ESC and from ESC to engine and I beleive the landing spings have been improved as others I've seen on vids look like they are stretched compared to mine as in they flex very easy. Looks like there have been more improvements after first release. Got mine 6 months ago.

    I thoroughly enjoy both planes personally and the TTE will always hava a special place in the hangar as I essentially learned to fly with the TTE and the old trusty nx8. Have since upgraded to the ix20 and after unlocking the rx and following Jons max settings video I have pushed that airframe to the limits amd even beyond my abilities (stick mashing) and shes taken it all with a smile. The twin is definitely fun with the stol capabilities and I just had a thought...cant the timber x wing be put on the TTE? I know the connectors inside would need to be disconnected from the rx to properly attach the wing BUT...surely it can be done? Regardless, GREAT job by camera crew, shes the real MVP here 😅

    • @TwoBrosRC

    Is there a 2 blade 11" or even 12" prop that would work as well as the 13x4 for the Evo? I'd like a little more scale look and I'm more worried about prop strikes when using a 13x4 wood prop. I was thinking an 11x4.5 or 12x5 maybe.

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Don't use a wood prop. The 13x4 Timber X propeller is the choice setup: alnk.to/bPdCmB9

      @@TwoBrosRC Thanks, why not use a wood prop? Also, when moving pushrods to inner location (control surface end) for rudder and elevator, will I need to adjust gains or anything else for safe/as3x to work fine? I don't need safe but it's nice to have it as a panic switch.

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Because if you do prop strike (which isn't hard with a 13" prop on a Timber) you're out the cost of a wood prop and need to get another one. Plastic/APC props are better suited to this style of plane. Far less expensive, far more resilient.
      Gains should always be adjusted after changing throw. Join up on Discord via bit.ly/TBRCDiscord and ask in the tech-and-setup channel!

    That’s a very interesting video about these both rc planes. I am kinda interested in the Twin Timber.
    I already have the German Multiplex Funcub and the Easyglider. Both are great planes, but the Funcub has some issues.
    Because the landing gear on the Funcub is just a wire and bends easily when landing rougher. And if you crash in a corn field you could break off the rear of the plane which happened to mine. Because the Funcub has two servos installed in the rear which weakens the structure there.
    But it flys awesome and can do artistic moves as well.
    Do you fly the Twin Timber with the forewings? I read in a German Rc magazine, that it has forewings.

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Slats (the fore-wing you're referring to) are covered here: th-cam.com/video/bBV80gJREac/w-d-xo.html
      The FunCub is neat if you're looking for something that's light. There's more to model aviation than how light an airframe is, though.

    This is a great comparison video Jon!! So many highlights to touch on. The main one, I know that you wouldn't hit her, but between you telling your wife not to worry and her reaction was funny. Is there a difference in the gear of TTE and the NTX?? I thought they improved TTE gear. Anyway, what I was thinking about doing is purchasing The TTE fuselage+ and making a NTTX. My NTX is new in box 1yr old. I just want a top loader. MW n ELE are easy swap. Your thoughts would be welcome. AirHammer out!!

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      The TTE and TX both have the same gear springs, but the TTE uses wider gear struts and a better gear mount in the fuselage that spreads the impact forces out much more. You could make the Timber Evo fuselage into a Timber X, just change out the wings and rearrange some wiring.

    I'm not biting on the Twimber. Seems top heavy and difficult to land smoothly...that gear better be tough! The TT Evo is such a well balanced plane. My only complaint was the gear springs, but that was improved once I removed the coil restrictors woven inside the active coils. Since then I haven't damaged any springs.
