Evolution Of A Legend
Many RC pilots got their first taste of flying a Short Take Off and Landing (STOL) capable airplane with the original E-flite® Timber® 1.5m model. Its friendly handling, nimble sport performance, and takeoff-and-land-almost-anywhere abilities made it one of the most popular RC aircraft of all time - widely acclaimed and highly recommended as a great "next step" after a trainer, as the perfect first STOL-capable aircraft, and as one of the best all-around, fun-to-fly sport models for a wide range of pilots. Its next evolution, the Turbo Timber® 1.5m, proved even more popular than the original with the addition of metal-geared servos, a 3S and 4S compatible power system, plus a turboprop-styled nose and 3-blade propeller. Now comes the Turbo Timber® Evolution 1.5m, ready to continue the Timber legend with new upgrades that deliver more durability, convenience, and capabilities than ever before - plus a fresh and modern look!

Thank you, Boozer. Another great presentation. You "splain" everything so well.
1st one here. Talk about a perfect time for newcomers to get in the hobby since you’ve got the perfect 1st model right in front of you.
great video , just got a turbo timber evolution
1.5 smart .
Love the dialog and accents. Great review and unboxing. If I wasn't so cheap this would be my next plane. Would like to see a cheaper version without floats or other unnecessary parts.
Old buy slides a: "that's what she said" in there!!!!
I do like this timber, great video guys 👍🏻
Thanks guys, great video! I want this plane!
Oh yeah. Love the TT Evo. I tied up my wiring harnesses for rhe wings to keep inadvertent contact with servos and help aid in assembly of the wings. Highly recommend it. She flies great and is a touch and go machine on smooth asphalt if you have that option where you fly. Wesley, I also recommend the Night Timber X even though the battery is a bottom feeder. You would have fun mixing up some 3D. 👍👍😎
Do as I did, purchase a Night Timber X wingset and some servos and you have two planes by just switching wing.
Like the video as always! One step you guys didn't cover that I think would be useful especially for newer pilots is to mention/show ESC calibration before putting on your prop.
That would be good I will try to remember it next time
You were supposed to use the washers on the screws holding the springs
I like the new colors on the new timber.
Me to much better than the blue on. But the battery hatch 🔥 need this on the timber X now
Yes they are so much better than the Turbo Timber!
Can I use my dxs transmitter that I use for my aeroscout to fly the timber? It’s just the basic transmitter.
Thanks
Is there another upgrade version coming soon? I want this , but also want the latest. I know this is a few years old.
What about adjusting the centre of gravity?
Well done Boozer! I want this or the Night Timber X. Just worried about the lights burning out on that one. Do you think they will ?
No I don’t think that would be an issue. I have several of the old night planes from horizon and haven’t had any issues with them.
@@MerryBoozerRC Alright thanks Wes !
What about trimming the control surfaces?
I'm assuming you would have to loosen the linkage at the servo?
yes there are covers under the wing that allow access to the aileron pushrods if they are incorrect out of the box.
I pre-ordered mine the day after it was announced, finally received it 2 months later...damaged. Here we are almost 4 months since pre-order I still havent received the replacement wing...I love HH birds, I buy all their products, batteries, receivers, transmitters, but this experience is making me look elsewhere for ALL my new planes.
Sorry to hear that 😐 this year has been hard for all RC companies with shipping and parts availability it’s a fun bird if you happen to have the old blue wing it actually fits to get you flying
what do the slats for
Helps the plane make more lift at slow speeds so makes it fly slower
Can you take a picture of your receiver. I want to make sure I have my ports are set up correctly because mine is not binding
Make sure you step back at least 5 feet when you bind or it will not work.
@@MerryBoozerRC I've done that. I realize you probably take a pic so can you tell me what you have in port 5
Can’t send a picture on TH-cam but port 5 is blank. When you power on the airplane and press the Spektrum logo on the receiver is it blinking? Also what transmitter do you have?
@@MerryBoozerRC yes it blinks and I have the dx6e transmitter. Port #5 is blank and so is the port next to port #1. I have a plug that that has wires attached to some servos but I don't know what it plugs into
That is correct when it’s blinking with your DX6e hold the bind button and turn on the transmitter should say binding on the controller
