    This is just great Jason. even if this topic has been covered, its still great to have a refresher course! and is helpful with new users of the helix :)

    good stuff Jason. Looking forward to the rest of the Global settings tutorials. I think a LOT of Helix product family users/owners get messed up because their settings are incorrect (especially if they bought a used unit and never went in to check it was reset back to factory or to what THEY needed for THEIR applications, or just didnt understand why/how to set each setting correctly). you rock. Do you set your volume knob for unity gain? I recall in one of your earlier videos it had a footnote saying you did but just wanted to see if that is still the case.

    • @sjsphotog
      @sjsphotog 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      he said in one of his videos recently that he has his master volume knob all the way clockwise to max. I set mine to the mid point of 50% as I get patches from the internet and when I test them out many are too loud and I dont want to blow my ears so i set my volume to 25-50 to protect and then slowly add vol as needed. if you set it to 50% then youy always have headroom. and you can always add channel volume on the output block or in your amp block to add more volume for each patch

    Thanks Jason - really useful. Have you done a video talking about using the Helix with a DAW - and the choices of DAW ?

  • @christophergodlewski5181

    Jason, what a Godsend to have stumbled across your channel. Not sure if you take questions - but I'm trying to record into Reaper using the USB (no Audio interface). The Helix signal into the DAW is WAY too hot! Is there some sort of setting to drop the Reaper USB output level??

  • @lchown1813
    @lchown1813 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It would be nice to see how you set up to use Re-amp source USB 7 in Reaper for example....and using the Helix hardware to reamp..with a different preset..not using Native.....

    • @sjsphotog
      @sjsphotog 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      he has an EXTENSIVE video on just the re-amp process. its over my head and i dont use that but its very useful for sure

    Hey Jason, love your stuff, truly great information. I have a ton of your videos pinned to my watch later to learn more about creating my own tones. Could you do a video dialing in a tone like the heavy portion on Black Label Society's new single Set You Free. The minute I heard it the first time, I realized thats the tone I have been chasing for years [without knowing it] but have never been able to get it. In true Zakk Wylde fashion, I can tell he is running through (at least one) 4x12 cab, and it sounds like he uses some chorus on it as well [as is typical of Zakk's tones]. I would love to see you walk through that tone so I could learn how to get to something like it. Thanks, love the content!!!

    Jason I am new to this and I bought your preset packs but I can't hear them thru my powercab 112 plus. I know it's a setting but it is beyond me. I am using the link to connect to the powercab.....

    Great stuff. I haves a ? On AES vs SPDIF to symphony IO. My studio has Ax FX amd two Kemper land one ampete 88s studio running 5 amps Thur OX to max OS w logic helix rack from Sweetwater is just not cutting it , SPDIF out volume at max. Just to get tone close to what head phones sound like and also to get adequate levels on maestro mixer. Cannot get anything from AES. Just working thru differences in out of box connection and user friendly differences. In boxing and out of box plug and play is not there with the helix. Do you have an email please advise. Or do u do any individual e workshops for fee for service Joe

    hi you said you hooked up a focusrite clarett to your hx stomp what do you set the ins outs to in global setting to then, if just going out to left and right speakers ? is it instrument line line ?

    • @JasonSadites
      @JasonSadites  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Stephen, I would set the outputs to Line if going to a powered speaker. Hope that helps :-)

    Hey Jason! Quick question…. When I switch from one preset to another, often the volume is very different, and I need to move the expression pedal each time in order to get the proper volume. Is there a global setting where I can avoid this? (Hope I’m making sense).

    • @jimleedavid
      @jimleedavid 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Go to your global settings and set your volume pedal to global as opposed to per preset. This will solve your issue

      this is especially true if the presets/patches are from all different surces/users that you downloaded from the internet on custom tone or purchased as everyone makes their patches to fit THEIR guitar and settings so you will have to level each patch. Jason has a video where he goes over that in detail. do a YT search for it

    I have figured out the inputs. All I want is two outputs to headphones two headphones. One output I can get from is the phone out. But what about the other? SEND 1/2 or 1/4" is giving signal only to Left ear. I have tried some converters and splitters but it just spoils the quality. Is there a way get another 'phone out' like signal from the 1/4" or send1/2 via a TRS cable? Note: i have helix lt
