@@BuckinBillyRaySmith Hey Billy Ray Smith. Thank you for being a living inspiration to my life. I am 27 years old from northern New Mexico. You have inspired me to chase what I love and what gets me fired up. I know God does kings for a reason I really feel that I've found you for a good reason. I feel that you are my mentor and life coach. Sometimes your speaking right at me. I am recovering from addiction to prescription painkillers and am trying to find my way to the light. I wont give up this fight, I have three girls ages 9, 17 months and 2 months. I have so much to fight for and to live for. thank you buckin for reminding me what's important in life. Jesus is the King of Kings!
You are a good man. I made the same decision in 1983. Promised God at 3 in the morning if he would let me live I would never drink again. So far we have both kept our word.
Billy Ray, you have NO idea how close our past is parallels each other. It took a fractured pelvis and 2 broken legs and broken back, twice, 78 days in a hospital bed in a cast to slap my brain and wake me up. No alcohol or drugs since 1982...You are a brother from another Mother. Love you brother.
You helped an old man today who's never been able to break away from his poison I got every thing to live for and I'm messing it up... thanks Bill. You are a strong one
Buckin, this is your calling I swear. Your energy, literally changes people's day. Not to mention the wealth of knowledge you spread to people. Just keep doin you bud.
After watching your videos for two years this one just came across to me. Amen buckin.. 6 years ago this January I was a freight train heading down the line myself. I looked at my wife and my only daughter and I realized to keep them safe I needed to step away and so I did. You don’t realize the damage you do to those around you until it’s hindsight. I had nothing and I worked 12 hours a day 7 days a week just to pay the piper. Now here we are all these years later I got back with my family 6 months after stepping away to get help. Today we own our own house and have 4 beautiful children together. The only way I can say it is life is even. No more ups downs highs or lows just even. Thank you for spreading this message it needs to get out there. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and there is a way out. Even if it doesn’t seem like it there is. We are proof of it.
You are a good man Billy.Alot of my buddies got clean and sober one of my logging boxes was the leader of the local AA chapter.I still have a good stiff drink once in awhile but ultimately it ends up a dead end road.Keep it up bro.
I'm 32. Had two duis ( about ten years ago ). Been sober for 3 years now. I'll never go back. No answers lay within the bottom of a bottle. God bless, buck!
Been there Buck'n. At 55 I look back at the wasted years and opportunities, professional and relationships. There is always time to change. Punching out isn't the answer. Accept the things you can't change and attack the things you can. Thanks for sharing this. It hit home. 👍
God Bless BR !!! I was an addict for 30 years and am Blessed to be alive and cuttin and splitting wood and watching BUCKIN BILLY RAY SMITH Thank you Brother !!!!
WOW.....my dad taught me to build a church in my heart and go to it everyday! You my friend are doing that. A church on a hill is just that... a church on a hill.... it is the spirit in your heart that counts! You have a very strong spirit. May GOD and life bless you!
My Name is Mark, I am an Alcoholic. 17 Years of Sobriety and Clarity here. Each day is a Gift. Thank You for Sharing Buckin, Oh... Miracles are in the eyes of the beholder. To many of us, you are one of em
Who knew referencing TH-cam to find an axe to split a bunch of a free wood I came up on could lead me to such a charismatic, humble, and overall rad human being. Hope you know that the positivity that you spread and the life advice you give doesn’t go unnoticed. God bless man
God is Love. I'm a Forester, Arborist and sometimes faller. Our logging industry has so many with drugs and alcohol problems. In part because the "un-hireable" are always needed to do the hard work; no questions asked as long as you show up and work hard. Unfortunately a dozen folks that I need to share this video with I no longer have contact with; fired or moved on. But I still know a few that need to hear your story - and they might listen because you're an axe man. Thanks for sharing. We are made in Gods image and when you express Love you are expressing God.
A painful story but one so full of wisdom and inspiration. About 25 years ago I was working a decent job with a crew. If we weren't working we were drinking. Pretty soon I was the only one who didn't have a DUI. Lost allot of bad women and a few good women. I thought I was so invicable and strong. But in reality I was so weak. I needed a few drinks to be social. One day I woke up hung over as u did every day. I decided I didn't wanna exist like this anymore. I quit liquor/beer cold turkey. My life began a new. I got a new job, new friends, real friends. And life took on new meaning. I decided to dedicate my life to helping others. In any way that he saw fit. Well when you put others above yourself life has a meaning. Your story hit me like no other. I appreciate it more than my mear words can express. Thank you because it shows that we can change our path. We can renew oneself and be happy in our own skin without needing a chemical to get us there.
Bill I'm just an armature homeowner with a crappy little Echo saw and more stupid mistakes than good ideas. I'm a long time subscriber and I've learned 1000 times more about life than chainsaws from your videos. You're a damn good dude.
Hogan, and your loving wife are who you did this for. I'm a direct product of two alcoholic parents and substance abuse. I keep my engine clean for my wife and future kids. There is always somebody looking up to you. Stand up and Buck ! Lend a hand, its all part of the plan friends!
To all who may read this reply I'd like to thank BBR for his testimony an in knowing that his message will make a positive change in someone's life. Love from TEXAS
The understanding I have of God is bewilderment. For me, spirituality is trusting beyond my ability to see and understand. No answers, just faith, and experience. Abandoning idealism for reality, I am now a kid again, who gets to see what happens next. And it is fantastic!
33 years clean and sober here. I was a pathetic so-and-so. Just plain sad. Every single good thing I've experienced is a direct product of cleaning up. Thanks for what you do, Billy!
I know this will get buried, but Buck, there's a reason I'm not in the trade and subscribed to the channel- I knew there was something about you that said to me, there's a man in recovery. I've been off and on most of my life- on the wagon three years now, and better for it- addiction is complicated relationship we can only work to uncomplicate, not end completely. Thanks for listening Buck.
@Becky Davis and @Dill Gross, thanks so much for the kind and inspiring words- we may strive for a reconciliation of past and future that may never come, but at least we try, and the effort is its own reward. Appreciate you both...
A day at a time Daniel, keep reaching out, keep connected, and work those steps. It's a simple program for we complicated people ;) Keep on keeping on friend! 🙏
Daniel, prayers to you brother! As one addict / alcoholic person to another .. we must learn first never give up on you ! Secondly never say can't ... I had the same issues as many for 38 years and now I'm clean and sober for almost 20 .. I made the same decision to make changes in life. Now I am counseling other men in recovery groups. Went back to school at 45 and earned all my degrees including a Masters degree. Never give up on you, and never say can't ! Stay safe friends ! And be kind !
Thank you! I'm in early recovery - 3 months. I find more peace and enjoyment working with my bees now that i'm taking one day at a time. God bless you and thank you again for sharing.
So proud of you. We are all here for you. Will help each other stand strong. You can always talk to anyone on this channel anytime, we are here to help
Buckin', I gotta tell you man, first off: thank you. For everything you do with your channel and the love you put out into the world. The other week I met a man while I was cutting trees. He mentioned wanting the wood to burn. I had some oak that I was planning on selling but something in my head just told me to give it to him. So I brought him a load of wood and when he asked how much I just asked him to do a favor for someone some time. I drove away feeling happier than I had in long, long time. And I drove away thinking about the message you spread. Thanks brother.
98 weeks sober for myself, took me a long time to accept there was an issue. A lot of hurt caused by drinking, evil stuff fire water.. I wasn’t a happy or merry drunk rather a violent mouthy person. But to some point this Chanel, helped my find myself so massive thank you to you all 🙏 thank you. Jon H in the UK
I wish there was a LOVE button!!!! I spent my day at my day job and all afternoon bucking a tree in my yard and splitting wood, came in a saw this. LOVE LOVE LOVE! I so look forward to my daily dose of kindness, woodsmenship and hard work. Keep it up Buckin' You are changing lives every day. You have changed mine!
In my recovery.. They said you need something to do... Something to believe in... And someone to love. I got 2 out of 3. No body will feel sorry for you. Not nearly as sad as you feel for yourself. True story.
Thumbs up for Mad Season! Such an obscure reference! "Is this the way I spend my days, in recovery of some fatal disease" R.I.P Layne Staley! God Bless You Buckin'!!
as a fiveteen yearold who grew up with addiction in the house, with my parents fighting and drinking there lifes away, my mom would leave me at home, i was about 10-11 at the time for two-three weeks out on horible drinking, snorting benders, and while my dad was trying to provide for us in the oilpatch, witch means he was away for about a month at a time, while i watched my mom cheat on my dad man a man with cokine, who now beats her and abuses her, and then my dad drink away his depression and fail at sobering up, i got my child hood cut short and now i struggle with addiction, not substace but a p0rn addiction, this video makes me want to quite for good because i cant go two days without it, i dont want to end up like either one of my parents. and i dont want my addiction to end up becoming worse/ and or turn into substace abuse. so thank you for sharing this video with the world i hope it can help others.
There you go bucking Billy, you have a wide open invitation to helping multitudes of real hurting people. This is your calling ,you knocked the ball clean out of the ball park with your testimonie ,I'm so glad that you beat drugs & alcohol thank God. Keep talking about your beating drugs and alcohol on all your videos it's a winner.thank you again, you will be hearing from me more and more
My last drink was on September 19th 2015. I haven’t had a drop since. Quitting was the best thing I ever did. In the beginning it wasn’t easy when around old friends, colleagues, and family. None of them could believe I wouldn’t even drink one beer. Each time it got easier and now I never even give it a thought. I haven’t missed it. I’m a much better father, son, brother, and even grandfather now. You too can do it my friend. You can. Here is the simple prayer I said very often. “God please help me” I felt no need to say more, God knows all the details already.
My dad wasn’t around. I was smashed up at 14 and. Went from prescription pain killers to injecting everything I could find. Was hooked on pain meds from 14-27 and I’m only now finding light and sharing that with you helps me.
Nate Vance, thanks brother. I'm glad to hear your story! My brother had a similar battle and only made it to 26. There was a good ending to that story but he's not here to tell it. You are here so keep pursuing healing and keep talking about it! #Standup
I am an alcoholic and I got out of my huge rut of drinking myself to death, when I finally found a calling decided to start my own timber falling company llc and it gave me such and inspiration and drive in life to do better, I was tired of living myself drunk daily and at the bottom of a barrel feeling in life, now I race saws my hopped up saw and modded chains, I love saws, axes and logging and the community it's been good and positive. Be Happy 😀 Thanks Buckin Billy hope I get together some day your just so real man I love it and touches many other people so big thank you.
This the video ever young man needs to watch. You my friend are truly an inspiration. The big man upstairs truly was watching out for you and had bigger plans for old Buckin Billy Ray. Bless you brother 🤙🏼 From your Cedar boy, much love
Thank you! I thought you knew the secret handshake! I finally got it 11/21/98. It took me until I was 45. So happy you got it at 27! You are a Winner and I’m happy to finally have learned to sharpen my chainsaw from you. And a bunch of other stuff too. Keep leading the way and lighting the path friend.
There’s a flip that happens, and this has recently happened for me: Given the right mindset and determination, you stop thinking of sobriety as an inconvenience to be endured, but a feeling to be enjoyed. Waking up in the morning feeling clear and enjoying the sunshine coming through the window sure beats being hungover every day.
Definitely , a clearness ! That's how I describe it also , one of the biggest reasons I hunt, to listen to the birds lately I don't care if I see a deer it's about having a moment outside , breath I'm not in a hurry, I'm at peace!
Hello, I got to know you bc the man in my life luvs u. So he showed you to me one day. Today he watched this video. He didn’t know this side of your life. He also “has a problem “ and I too, left him about 3 1/2 years ago bc of his drinking. Well, today he sent me this video. He told me tonight it’s made him want to do something about this white elephant in the room. So I watched your video. He doesn’t know it yet but I’ve been attending Al-anon meeting to cope with and try to understand this issue. You, Billy, are a blessing and a beam of light. You are an inspiration. And I know you are not in the business of “spiritual speech’ that’s just not you. But you have a message. I’m so grateful that you have reached people through your openness and being so honest and transparent about your life your connection with your viewers. And bc of it, you are reaching other people in need. Without even realizing it, you are a vessel through which you can reach someone who is lost to find their way. My man was so moved by your simplicity and openness. I don’t know if tomorrow he will still feel the same way, but he became inspired and touched by you. To the point of mentioning it. And I am in awe and gratitude of your courage and honesty. God Bless you and your family. Truly, you are in my prayers.
SOLEDADE. I COME BACK TO THIS VIDEOS COMMENT SECTION EVERY SO OFTEN ... AND THIS IS THE REASON WHY. THANK SO MUCH FOR YER WORDS . HOW IS THE MAN IN YER LIFE NOW . IM VERY INTERESTED. i AM FREE NOW AND LOVE MY WIFE MORE THAN ANYTHING .. HE LOVES YOU
Hello Billy! What a wonderful surprise to see you actually answered my comment! I didn’t expect you to even bother. My man told me that he had an earnest talk with Jesus and said he was going to do something about the white elephant…that he didn’t need any outside help. Just him and his Maker. I haven’t stopped attending Al-Anon, it’s saved me from insanity. Bc unfortunately he hasn’t stopped and I just can’t do anything about it. Very painful to see someone you love wasting their health away. But if you’re not ready, you’re not ready. He lost his younger brother to drinking and it scares me when I think that this can happen to him also . So sad and devastating. He’s actually written you a few times and he even wanted to go see you and spend some time with you. (He is Monks Saw Mill). That’s how inspiring you are to him. Through your videos and your transparency, you are doing so much good! I ask God take care and keep you in His presence so you can continue to do the good you do! Thank you so much for acknowledging my comments. Very much appreciated. You and your family continue to be in my prayers. ❤ 2:58
@@soledadedebarros5578I am grieved by your story because I was once your husband and it took me a over 10 years to forgive myself for what my wife went through so I don't know what you've been through but I've sure witnessed it. I belong to the Lord now and I am praying for you and your husband. Don't ever give up. We are told to be long-suffering 2 Peter 3:9, Romans 5:3-4. God uses us for his will and has told wives to emulate Christ's obedience for their husband's sake 1 Peter 3:1, that one must also be correctly interpreted, not by itself or for it's face value. (My wife and I have been through counseling at our church and have learned a lot of scriptures on marriage are not as they outwardly appear.) The Lord is your strength through the suffering.
Great video. I too was a drunken fool in my teens, 20's, and early 30's. I don't miss alcohol at all now. A lot of my friends either died or are in jail now. Two of us made it out and became success stories.
My father went down the road of drugs and alcohol and unfortunately took his own life one year ago May 1st. You have the same mannerisms and ways of speaking that my father had and you say some of things I truly wish I heard him say. Thank you for coming to your realization for your kids because it’s far too common to ignore that. I appreciate you Billy.
This man needs to be speaking at every high school across the nation... Love wins. ❤️ I know the pain of watching your world leave in a Uhaul truck buddy it’s not an easy pill to swallow but it sure wakes you up no matter what fog your in.
So thankful for a man called Buckin! We just removed an old ash that was touching my roof. I would never have attempted this before learning rope and felling from watching Buckin. This experience grew confidence, improved skills, saved money, and impressed my girls.
I’m also in recovery. The freedom I’ve felt since I made that decision is unreal. I love people like you. Going into the rooms was the best decision my wife and I have made. To many times to count that my life was almost over. Had a few visits with my maker myself. I admire your story and victory. It is a miracle that we got clean but I am just like you I’m no miracle myself. I love you Buckin. Thank you for your message. Love will conquer all.
@@Lunewolff THANKS MAN JUST RELIZED THE PEOPLE I THOUGHT WERE MY FRIENDS WERE MORE DRINKING BUDDIES SO I CHOSE A DIFFERENT PATH NOW I CAN SLEEP IN PIECE AT NIGHT LOL
i was a bartender for 15 years and in the end my best guest. by the time i realized it it was almost too late. there are many ways to stop something. the only right thing is to stop it and never start again! people don't get caught, the best live is real life! stay kind and help someone who needs it!
Buckin I can connect so hard with this video, I've struggled with addiction, heroin to be specific not that it matters. But i got the help that I needed and have never looked back, tree work saved my life. Gave me a purpose to wake up and smile. I'm 4 years clean and starting g my own little side thing with my brother. We idolize you in so many ways, stand up and buck! Be kind friends we got one hell of a community here!🌳🌲🌳🌲
Keep it up, Brandon. Remember it's always just one decision away. It is always your choice. Don't ever let some crappy excuse take you out. The excuse is the weak man's way out.
It's funny how we always have the same story. God bless you, I kicked the disease when I was 30, going on 4 years in May. To all the people that might be going through some of the struggles talked about in this topic, if you have a desire to stop drinking or using drugs, maybe just reach out to one of us and we can help get you going in the right direction.
Hey buckin' I had a sneaking suspicion you'd been in an anonymous meeting or 2. Some of your verbiage made me think it. your willingness to help and give. And your gratitude for every moment and breath of air you take is an inspiration. I love your channel and all your content, and especially now that I know that we have the same allergy to alcohol and drugs. Love you man, keep up the good work!
Buckin’, I’m 50 years old I’ve been sober for 17 years. I know exactly what your talking about. The best thing I’ve ever done in my life is quit drinking. I wouldn’t be alive today if I hadn’t. I really appreciate you bringing light to this insidious disease. There’s never anything good at the end of a bottle. Keep bucking...
Great Man, its need courage to talk about the old Demons! I dont drink alcohol since Im 20! I drink to much, drive my car totally drunk, taking drugs. Since I meet my wife. From this day I dont drink any alcohol!
@UCutcB3OjuaQwTaAnrZWla1Q I‘m very sad to hear that. But you made it! You got away from her abuse. Congrats for your change! I like those kind of story’s. Someone came in a bad condition, find his way out of this and now he lives a new live without this old Demons and is stronger after that. You was as strong you can get to defeat that demons!
Buckin', I like stories that have a happy ending. I too had a alcohol problem, I switched to marijuana and was able to quit drinking. It wasn't long before I decided to stop smoking and start living again, and I did. Life's not easy but that's because I'm still working thru issues I have from not having my Dad in my life. I've figured this out, Life's all about the choices we make. My choice counts, my choice influences others. It's easier to build a boy than mend a man. Since watching your channel, I've found a love for axes, chainsaw and firewood that I share with my son. Life can't keep me down or hold me back any longer, I'm going forward because there's people in my life that need to see me succeed as I realize i am a role model, and I want to be a good one. It doesn't matter how you start life but it's how you live it and finish that counts. This too shall pass, one day at a time.
You should talk about this more often. It shows people there is another life on the other side of addiction. Keep on keeping on Billy. You are definitely an inspiration to many people.
January 17th was my father's birthday buckin , and all my life he told me this same story about how alcohol and drugs was destroying him and when I was born my grandfather had a conversation with him about his drinking and he gave it all up right then and there and for 30 years I had the best dad ever and listening to your story here made me feel a little bit like it was him telling me his story one more time , i can't speak for anyone else here but thanks buckin for this video I have tears in my eyes right now because it almost made me feel like he was on the other side of this camera and also my uncle Odie who was also a tree man for lewis tree service in my same thing 40 years sober at his passing it's because of both of them that I got bit by the power saw bug (my first saw was a jonsered 2172 out of my uncle's collection brand new never been used ) and that I found your channel this is by far the most near and dear video to my heart on all of youtube thank you for sharing your story with us this truly touched my heart in a way I didn't know was possible I never realized how much I missed hearing those stories they kept me from making those mistakes and I'm so sure that this will help many others to not make those mistakes it's absolutely a great video for kids if I hadn't been told these stories when I was a kid I never would have had the knowhow to keep control of myself or put myself in check so as not to make the mistakes . I want you to know buckin you are a magnificent wonderful human being right now I feel like my dad and my uncle are sitting here watching this story with me and I can't thank you enough for giving me that I miss them so much and your story and videos make me feel as if theyre not so far off anymore thank you buckin I needed this . This whole comment was originally going to be January 17th was my fathers birthday and perhaps in a way it is now your birthday as well from now on when I celebrate my dad's birthday I'm gonna add something from you in the words I say to him
It is one thing to have the courage to step up and take personal responsibility for ones own actions , Its another to have the humility and nobility to share the story. To save ones own life and then share the journey in order that someone else may benefit is truely the mark of great character . You my friend are and will continue to inspire people to achieve great things . The world is a better place with you in it. Thank you.
KEEP IT UP! Please :). I, like millions of other people, have been going through some sh*t and your videos have seriously resonated with me. Your videos basically settle my mind at night/whenever I have the chance to watch. Thanks again. EDIT: Also for the folks that want to kick alcohol just be mindful of how much you're drinking currently and don't stop COLD TURKEY if it's "a lot." There should be places where you can go to seek help (medication etc), no one will look down on you just do it if you want to! Be safe.
So Billy thank you fur sharing ur story!! It was very familiar!! My life torn by using. 4 yrs sober and my 4th season doing 🌳 trees!! I just turned 50 and climbed my first tree with my arborist. I am so proud to say I have alot of respect fur you and ur journey! Ur video helped not being a cat in that tree I climbed. I was able to climb down! Thank you fur all ur hard work, information u are full of it! It's awesome to hear other people's story
Like you nothing, love you yes! You have reached me on many levels Billy Ray I for one have a problem with pills and alcohol, its time to say I have a problem! Thanks for giving me the strength to, I will be going and looking for help!
James Walters That's an amazing first step to admit that. We all here support you and chime in to let us know how you're doing! We can help each other and so happy Billys words , telling of his past has struck home with you. Stand up and buck man! You can do it!
I hope you followed through. It's the best decision you can make. I started drinking and using pills when I was younger and over the course of 6-7 years I took more and more pills and eventually I ended up homeless and literally sleeping under a bridge. Things kinda sneak up on you and spiral quickly. I've been clean 14 years and I have kids and a house and a stable job and I'm thankful I took that step. You have to want to do it though, no one else can make that choice for you or it won't work.
Bill is just short of 40 years sober and I am coming up on 21 years clean and sober. I don’t even remember the person I was and am grateful for friends like you who know what it was like and have left it behind. Love you BR!!
I am 3 years no smoking . 15 years of 2 packs a day and one day I woke up and said enough was enough I want to live . Best thing I ever did :-) . So glad you made a decision for the better as well my friend
Hey buckin, i am new to the industry starting my journey as a wood man fairly late. I had twin girls 3 years ago and i have been transitioning into the man i want to be for them slowly, but i had no career that fit the dad life, so i made the decision im going to do what i want to do and enjoy, and become the man i want to be. Watched videos for a couple years before making the leap. Ive been watching your content lately and really enjoy learning the knowledge you so kindly share. But, this video really hit home for me on so many levels. It was inspiring and motivating. I appreciate you sharing. I wish i could work for someone like you for a while to learn the tricks of the trade, but this is the next best thing. Keep them coming and know that you are touching peoples hearts with your positive energy and messages. Thank you doesnt convey enough, my level of gratitude.
You are the real deal Billy. I want you to know that you will never know how much this video has set fire in my chest. Thank you my friend. May God forever bless you in your journey.
My father was an alcoholic. He died when I was 9, cirrhosis of the liver. Watching your videos inspired me to start my own business this year. Thank you for taking care of yourself
It takes a strong man to admit his own faults and mistakes. You have a big heart and you set a good example for all of us Buckin.Be well and be happy friends !
Buckin, you are a powerful speaker and highly effective communicator. What you say clearly comes from the heart but few people are capable of reaching so deeply into their souls and describing their thoughts and feelings in such a meaningful and relevant way. I don't think many professional counselors could discuss these matters as convincingly and persuasively as you can. You are a gifted speaker and educator.
I know this is an old video but really enjoyed the truth because the truth will set you free! Free indeed! I am a Spiritual man and just want to say I needed to hear this. I am not an alcoholic or a drug user but am a bit depressed with things in my personal life. I just turned 65 and getting old can suck if you let it! GOD calls his own to his son Jesus Christ because the only way home is through the blood of his son. Pick UP a KJV Bible and start reading new testament! Don't join a church let GOD teach you the truth. Love You brother! Thank You for being open and true! Peace and Grace forever!
Best vid yet, this one touched me personally I've been clean n sober 7 yrs now n I pray I can stay the course like buckin, i feel what we suffer n endure makes us who we are, God bless buckin
Good day, Billy Ray, Hello, my name is Lleyton Verbeeke. Thank you for this video! While I don't have a drug or alcohol problem myself, so many things you say resonate with me. I used to feel alone in thinking that way, but your videos have been incredibly enlightening. Every time I watch, I learn more about how I should be, how I should speak, and how I should work. I truly appreciate that. Please keep sharing your wise words and those beautiful trees, and btw don't forget to restore that pickup-I can learn from that as well. Thanks to you, my friends often wonder, "How does he know all that?" and it's partly because of your influence. If I'm ever in the neighborhood, I hope we can have a good conversation. Kind regards from Belgium, Lleyton Verbeeke
You was put here to be that good person. I recommend ppl watch u quite often n me n my uncle have sat n laughed many times.. keep spreading cheer and being the honest person you are. Started cutting less than 2 yrs ago, and you are my go to videos in the winter....knowledge laughter and training. Thank you for the cheer you have gave me. Ive had a life like you, should have died 3 different times, this last time a face plant into an suv on the highway....someone didnt look our direction....shattered half my face n couldnt dont anything but sleep n watch tv for months....moved to country n fell in love with my stihl, you have taught me alot...And i hope to one day teach my own.
Love ya BR. Sounds like you do know God and it’s obvious Jesus has his hand on you and is looking out for you. Everyone has a purpose and you have found it. Keep teaching people how to fell trees, take care of their equipment, telling people to “Be Kind to Each Other”, which is the story of Jesus. You are here man. That’s why you feel so good in the woods alone. You are in touch. You rock.
I've known a bunch of friends in my life that were talented people that either has died or screwed up their lives with drugs and alcohol. Thank God you came to your senses.
Buddy I cried when I listened to this, I was there also until 26 years old I was going down the same wrong roads, I found out about Jesus and still took me 2 more years to quit it all, I'm 66 now and best thing ever happened to me also, glad for you buddy gotta say I hope yo find out about Jesus and really fullfil you life totally, that is the next step to being totally happy, I know been there done that. Thanks for your story so proud of you taking hold and breaking the chains of drugs and alcohol Bob in Tennessee
Buckin', I've watched quite a few of your video's but this is the first time for this one, and wow, I gotta say it hit me. Love your channel Buckin', and YES - Love does win! Appreciate you Buckin'.
I love it buckin! old alcoholic myself. found a treatment center (outpatient so i could still work and not lose myhouse), but that center, and AA saved my life! I'm a better man than I ever thought I could have been. It's still hard sometimes . I call it " the beer anxiety"..... I still get a case of the beer anxiety sometimes.... i pour some black coffee, and just know that I need to get busy. shop project, out cruising timber, cutting firewood, building fence, something, anything! Need to get busy and not have time to focus on it, or I'll cave. If I stop to think, the anxiety will over come me. I cant give in to its power, and just learned to realize I can feel it coming, and its a sign I'm sitting too idel. Dont give it a chance! The powerlessness Alcohol can cause it unbelieveable! My wife doesnt drink, she never understood it. I been there buddy, glad you came out the other side! totally relate to the "nitro in the viens". thats excactly what its like! Good for you brother! Keep up living, keep on buckin :-) Love ya brother
THANK YOU BUCKIN! Im in this same position in life right now, early 30s with a shoddy support system so its 1 man vs his mind here. But Im so glad you posted this, Ill probably watch this 10 times today. Youre my support system today Buckin!!
Buckin, you could be a fabulous preacher! My faith increased listening to your testimony. Your dark days can now be counted as one of your greatest gifts.... the Man upstairs knows what he is doing. Without your past you would be a fraction of the man you now are. Keep talking, you help us all....I bet that is your future, look forward to the trip! Thanks for the effort you put out!!
Man, your message is changing peoples’ lives. Keep at it. Never stop never give up. That hard grit in the bottom of your stomach, that never quit attitude that keeps us going when we feel like we can’t, the pure and unadulterated relentlessness of it all... doesn’t hold a candle to the power of the light shown from one human to another. Call me a hippy, a freak, whatever.. without each other, we’ll never make it. Love u brother
Buckin your story hits close to home, we have very similar pasts. And I say PAST !!!! Last drink was 2006 . Thanks for sharing . We ❤❤ ya out here Buddy . AK BRAD
It hits home for me as well, in the Army , lost my best friend from childhood, Turned to alcohol and drugs to push the pain, regret and blame away. Woke up one day, cleaned up, Went back in the Army and served another 20 years. To this day no drink, no drugs. It’s a process. And it isn’t easy.
Keep up the good work buckin!! I quit hard drugs 15yrs ago. Alcohol though has been rough. A month sober March 4th 2024. Just keep doing what you're doing. God bless you sir.
Thanks for sharing Buckin. I was a drunker up until about 6 years ago, I too realized I didn't like who I was and am so thankful I was able to stop before it took me out friend. Love you buddy and your past is a learning experience. I knew there was a reason I was drawn to you. Thanks for sharing brother! Sending prayers for a healing of your pain!
I am struggling and hearing ur story really makes me feel more positive thank you buckin’ billy ray for helping me out from under this rock I been hiding under awesome video
Gee! It's 2:30 in the morning and couldn't sleep. Happens to me sometimes, but I don't care. And suddenly I got this video. What a wonderful testimony! I know what you're talking about: my sisters(2) and brother have been victims of drug/alcohol abuse. but they're CLEAN now. And they'll never go back. Buckin, it's a lesson of courage and I'm SOOO glad you came out of it. In the name of all who suffer from that disease, THANKS FOR YOUR HELP. I.m sure you have helped more people than you think. (M.G., Quebec, Canada)
I've been in quite a few Houses of God, but I've never been so inspired. Thanks.

That guy you were not knowing where to put his hands, pocket, table, where. Story of my life.
Takes a real man to talk to his friends like this, and an even bigger one to talk to us complete strangers. You are an inspiration
GLAD YERR HERE
Buckin, this is your calling I swear. Your energy, literally changes people's day. Not to mention the wealth of knowledge you spread to people. Just keep doin you bud.

41 Years clean and sober, My Hat is off to You.
takes a strong person to admit a problem and deal with it hell of a guy
thats true.its not easy
I know personally about the demons of substance abuse nothing about it is positive except maybe when your clean
Everyone, no matter what age, needs to watch this. I'm 11 years sober from weed and booze. Mom and Dad were cops. I'm 37 years old. Thanks Buckin'
Me to 11 yrs last month.
Good on ya mate good work keep it up
Well done 👍. What did your parents think about your drug use?
You are a good man Billy.Alot of my buddies got clean and sober one of my logging boxes was the leader of the local AA chapter.I still have a good stiff drink once in awhile but ultimately it ends up a dead end road.Keep it up bro.
I'm 32. Had two duis ( about ten years ago ). Been sober for 3 years now. I'll never go back. No answers lay within the bottom of a bottle.
God bless, buck!
Congrats on 3 years sober!!!
Congratulations on not having a drink in 3 years. Well done
God love you
Good for you! Its true, no answers there... just a fuzzy reflection that sends you back for another bottle!
Congrats on 3 years!!
Been there Buck'n. At 55 I look back at the wasted years and opportunities, professional and relationships. There is always time to change. Punching out isn't the answer. Accept the things you can't change and attack the things you can.
Thanks for sharing this. It hit home.

hi Johnny Such
The Buckin' Army is glad to have you! Congrats!
WOW.....my dad taught me to build a church in my heart and go to it everyday! You my friend are doing that. A church on a hill is just that... a church on a hill.... it is the spirit in your heart that counts! You have a very strong spirit. May GOD and life bless you!

I was just trying to look at cool axes..
I just cried my eyes out, inspired to reclaim my life!!
Thanks bud!
hope you are still on path to your reclamation!
Who knew referencing TH-cam to find an axe to split a bunch of a free wood I came up on could lead me to such a charismatic, humble, and overall rad human being. Hope you know that the positivity that you spread and the life advice you give doesn’t go unnoticed. God bless man
Amen!!
What god
I needed to find this sooner, but I am not sure I was ready. Sober 3 years now, and its so fantastic! Thanks for sharing yourself with everyone bud!
Good for you! Keeping the engine clean when you are surrounded by it as a youngster is quite the challenge... congrats!!
And it is fantastic!
well put
33 years clean and sober here. I was a pathetic so-and-so. Just plain sad. Every single good thing I've experienced is a direct product of cleaning up. Thanks for what you do, Billy!
Thanks for sharing!
Daniel we are all here to lift you up. You have the power. We love you
I love you buddy.. keep that head up.. *hugs Daniel*
It's a simple program for we complicated people ;)
Keep on keeping on friend!
Good job brother. One day at a time, read the big book and get a sponsor.

Becky Davis That means a lot to me thank you
Buckin', I gotta tell you man, first off: thank you.
This is my hope that others will give of them selves and soon we will all let go and loosen our grip of our things; and we will lift every one

In my recovery.. They said you need something to do... Something to believe in... And someone to love. I got 2 out of 3. No body will feel sorry for you. Not nearly as sad as you feel for yourself. True story.
Thank-you Buckin, your story is one shared by many, but spoken by few.

as a fiveteen yearold who grew up with addiction in the house, with my parents fighting and drinking there lifes away, my mom would leave me at home, i was about 10-11 at the time for two-three weeks out on horible drinking, snorting benders, and while my dad was trying to provide for us in the oilpatch, witch means he was away for about a month at a time, while i watched my mom cheat on my dad man a man with cokine, who now beats her and abuses her, and then my dad drink away his depression and fail at sobering up, i got my child hood cut short and now i struggle with addiction, not substace but a p0rn addiction, this video makes me want to quite for good because i cant go two days without it, i dont want to end up like either one of my parents. and i dont want my addiction to end up becoming worse/ and or turn into substace abuse. so thank you for sharing this video with the world i hope it can help others.

Well said. Thankyou

friend.
Very well put, Chris! You put in to words what I could not
Damn right. Good feeling being clear and in control at all times.

Sorry about the tragic loss of your father

Hey buckin'
I had a sneaking suspicion you'd been in an anonymous meeting or 2.
Yes it does!!
@UCutcB3OjuaQwTaAnrZWla1Q
I‘m very sad to hear that.
This whole comment was originally going to be January 17th was my fathers birthday and perhaps in a way it is now your birthday as well from now on when I celebrate my dad's birthday I'm gonna add something from you in the words I say to him
Our Lord God thru His Son Jesus works in ways that we humans do not fully understand. Carry on Mr. Smith.
Love is Lord
"No tree, it is said, can grow to heaven unless its roots reach down to hell.
"
😮😳 powerful stuff right there!
THX PAL
My father was an alcoholic. He died when I was 9, cirrhosis of the liver. Watching your videos inspired me to start my own business this year. Thank you for taking care of yourself
It takes a strong man to admit his own faults and mistakes. You have a big heart and you set a good example for all of us Buckin.Be well and be happy friends !
I didn't think it could, but my respect for you has grown even more today.
28 years clean and sober. I know what you’re saying.
10 years clean from heroin/6 years clean from everything else.
Nice! 6 years for me in May. My sponsor just celebrated 30 years
@@odin7682 I was only alcohol but met plenty of heroin addicts over the last almost 6 years. That stuff is a monster! Glad you’re off of it!
There's a goodness in you that's inspiring. I've come up a notch since being here.
then you will bring everyone up .thx good sir
Me too
Me three.
Good day, Billy Ray,
Hello, my name is Lleyton Verbeeke.
Kind regards from Belgium,
Lleyton Verbeeke

Buddy I cried when I listened to this, I was there also until 26 years old I was going down the same wrong roads,

Buckin', I've watched quite a few of your video's but this is the first time for this one, and wow, I gotta say it hit me. Love your channel Buckin', and YES - Love does win! Appreciate you Buckin'.
Buckin you are an absolute stud. What a powerful message. Thank you for your all your video's. I dig that you laid it all out.
Thanks Buckin'. Once again you spoke with honesty, hope, victory and inspiration. The world needs more people just like you. ❤
THANK YOU BUCKIN! Im in this same position in life right now, early 30s with a shoddy support system so its 1 man vs his mind here. But Im so glad you posted this, Ill probably watch this 10 times today. Youre my support system today Buckin!!
You have big support here friend!! Sending love ur way❣🤜🤛❤
Battlefield is always in the mind! Glad you found Buckin and the army for extra support! Amazing group of folks rallying for each other in here!
Great reference to Mad Season.. Thanks for the honesty BBR!! Been there and have the scars in story.. Much love to you and all the followers..
Buckin your story hits close to home, we have very similar pasts. And I say PAST !!!! Last drink was 2006 . Thanks for sharing . We ❤❤ ya out here Buddy . AK BRAD
Me too. Being honest is so powerful
