- This guy crashed his car into a Tesla Model X at a police roadblock and 30 other crazy events in this weeks episode. Tesla drivers are put to the test with hit & run drivers, autopilot and bad drivers in Episode 155 of Teslacam Stories.

Teslacam Stories is a series of Tesla owners real experiences told by the Tesla Dashcam and Sentry Mode videos. All incidents are recorded from Tesla vehicles and submitted to this channel by other Tesla enthusiast. Respect to the Ram driver for steering away from the pickup truck in front of him when he got rear ended. Definitely paying attention.
Props to the pickup in front too who noticed the guy behind him get rear-ended. They moved forward pretty fast to get out of the way.
I can't belive I'm saying this, but the drivers of two lifted trucks were actually not bad drivers!

7:40 Good reaction from the driver that got rear ended, he managed to avoid hitting the car in front which is rare enough
The word, “of” doesn’t fit the sentence, try using “to” instead!
He sensibly gave himself an escape route, while most drivers bunch up as much as they can for no good reason.
The driver he missed also reacted and let off the brake and looked like he was about to move if needed. Not sure if he would have moved in time though.

@@Alan_Clark Well have you ever seen a motorcyclist getting hit from behind and managing to save it? Once you're being hit that hard you will unwillingly loose control of your car for a good 1 or 2 second (That's without counting you may have had a fat smoky air bag deploying in your face)
I assume this truck driver regained control of his steering wheel this quickly because his truck was lifted, much heavier than the car hitting them and part of the impact's energy transfered upward instead of forward which reduced the overall feel of the impact at the driver seat. That's my best guest as to why he managed to regain control of his steering in time.

I'm myself no big fan of electric cars as a whole. But i have nothing against tesla or any other brands themself. And not that they are electric, its the way they are advertised and marketed.
Anyhow, a person is a person, a car is a car. I respect all road users, even bike riders (even tho some of them can be extremely disrespectfull or annoying to get by).
If you have a issue with a certain brand and want to put lives at risk just cus you dont like a car or brand, then consider leaving your license in the trash and never drive again.
I drive a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe LT 6.5 Turbo Diesel. And people with big trucks doing disrespectfull shit to tesla drivers or any other electric car user pisses me off. They are like kindergarden kids who acts like "look at me and my big toys jadda jadda jadda". Best to avoid them like most road users do. They also put users of cars like that (like me as an example) in a bad perspective to anyone else. I'm not a big boy roal coal better then everyone else guy. I just generally enjoy the car, and i dont want to be blamed for that cus others with similar cars does stupid shit like the one in 09:30.
I gladly let teslas or anything else pass me, or that i give way to them for smoother and safer traffic flow. Even if my opinions on electric cars as a whole is the same.
Someone that drives a tesla or any e-cars is basically just a user. And if someone want to drive a tesla then thats their decision, and no one should blame them. I've driven a very new model x myself, it was a interesting and fun car to drive.
So from me, no user of any road vehicle gets any disrespectfull behaviour from me. Even if someone ticks me off or does something wrong, its better to just stay calm and keep going with the day, at the end. You cant be a better idiot then the idiot itself.

Also not having an earlier reaction time is the driver's fault--not autopilot's. You can't have autopilot jerking your car left and right every time it sees somebody kind of drift to the right or left of their lane, while still inside their lane. That'd be ridiculous. I'd love to see you propose a better solution.

At 12:57 I live very close to that intersection and let me tell you it's not anything crazy the drivers in Plano and Dallas area are way crazy i mean total disregard for road rules or users.. idk why it's so bad but honestly people acting so entitled but do not actually provide service to the community whatsoever
Sometimes your tesla can somehow mess up and dismount your usb drive through software. This caused us to not have our camera recording when someone rear ended us while protecting chick-fil-a from their dog. Stay safe out there and remember to always format your usb and make sure it is recording.
14:10 - it's not the weight, but the distribution. Not enough tongue weight. Lots of great demo videos with RC cars and trailers on treadmills showing the positive feedback loop that happens when the center of gravity is behind the trailer axles. Load your trailers carefully folks!

Only way to fix sway once it happens is eliminate the speed differential between trailer and vehicle. In reality, generally you need to slow down the trailer.
Trailer emergency brakes are best...
You could maybe try accelerating, but that likely won't be fast enough unless you have a massive engine/pull car and tiny trailer... But then you probably didn't have a sway issue in the first place...
So yeah.. pre-emptive means are really it. Better balancing the load or Trailer brakes..

13:50 hopefully they stopped to give the video to the minivan driver. The Porsche was obviously speeding and at fault, but without concrete proof the completely innocent minivan driver could get put at fault instead for pulling out.
With that first crash, that's most likely got frame damage, which means that nothing on that car will run exactly the same way again.
The car didn't move so it did take a big amount of shock on the frame. But I think it's repairable with a good frame mechanic.
Completely untrue. However insurance will automatically total any vehicle (with some expectations to semis) if the frame is damaged
If I had a car that nice and it got into an accident like that, I would rather they total the car and I get a brand new one.
Why are the insurance companies do eager to declare the car totalled, like in first accident it didn't seem major. Its just a curious question as here in India I haven't heard companies declaring cars totalled at this much damage
@@sakshambansal8937 I'm not too sure but I think it's because of repair costs? Insuarance comapnies would much rather choose to put a salvage title on a car like that and sell it off to someone who'll fix it rather than paying to fix it. Some repair centers overprice the repair costs to take more money out of insuarance companies. I think they take a smaller loss by auctioning it off.

His load was weighted too far back. Move the weight closer to front trailer wheels, this probably doesnt happen

@JH Not so fast. The quality of the video isn't great, but the 2 road signs on the right didn't look like German autobahn signs. The truck looked like it came from Sweden, and the plates on the other vehicles that I could see didn't look like German plates. I have driven in Germany for decades and rarely seen anyone with a trailer going more than 100 kmh. Most of the ones I've seen go 80 the way they're supposed to.

The big fault with Tesla is Expensive repairs, AND *NO* Parts, I remember my first collision with my brand new NSU 1200, a Ford was under the tarp awaiting parts (c. 1970) on my second time being hit three months later the Ford was still there, looks like Tesla is much the same, So busy selling and building New cars there are no parts for repairs. @2:01, is that a pistol on the guys belt? @2:46, Not the burglars pants belt below his rump? @5:06, WARNING. ANY impact over 3 mph to a bumper may cause concealed damage to the bumper mounting shocks, they may leak and be ineffective in another hit. Repair/replacement is generally in excess of 500USD.

Another reason to have a firearm in your house. One day the criminals go into cars, the next, into houses. Make sure you have the ability to protect you and your family with the best tool for the job, a firearm. When you need help in seconds, dont wait minutes for the police to arrive with their own firearms.

Easier said than done - They dont have any money to begin with, so there wont be a way to collect on a fine and most either dont have a license or its suspended. Should be charged with insurance fraud to get a jail sentence

@@janeblogs324 from what I can tell, most break checkers are at best middle class. Second, most rich people would have someone else drive them anyways. And they wouldn't have the time to be break checking anyone.
Lastly, no one likes wasting time and money (which is made with time) on tickets that they otherwise shouldn't have gotten if they were acting like normal people.
Where do I get all of this from. Well, I don't see Tesla owners break checking now do I. Nope. But the one time I got break checked in my few months of actually driving, it was a broken down waste of a car. Curious why they do it huh.

@2:05 in SF and other crappy/frequent window-smash areas: put your rear seats down, with NOTHING in trunk, so thieves can just look w/o smashing window (to fold down rear seat) and leave things alone.
Having a drop-lock doesn't help as you want to avoid them smashing the window in the first place... it can protect things in trunk, but not the window
If do have valuables, put in the frunk, or worst-case sub-trunk, and make sure power/bluetooth on anything is OFF.

I live out here in Tucson, AZ where they're famous for having bike lanes and bike trails everywhere(we're surrounded by mountains). And at least here everyone is strapping the bike racks properly so you don't have bikes falling off and littering the roads.*

Oncoming traffic is probably gonna be able to stop in time instead of the idiot that rear ended the truck. Also rather not spend 30k on repairs because it's your fault if you hit the car in front of you!

For the model x at the beginning, I don’t think it would be totaled as it didn’t reach the cab and the damage was in the middle of the vehicle the frame would be good to go since the frames on teslas don’t go all the way back, it has about a foot hanging off of the frame. So I don’t think it would be totalled
I'm sure there was over 50,000 in damage to that Tesla. Even if it's just the back hatch, bumper, and rear quarters, I bet that's almost 50 grand to replace and color match with how much Tesla charges for anything.
