- A chase suspect was taken into custody Friday morning after driving into oncoming traffic and crashing into several cars on the 405 Freeway in the Brentwood area.

Officers did a horrible job at stopping this van!!
Yeah, imo they could have done more. Since it was clear the driver was a serious threat, and had a weapon that had been used previously. (The van).

They had her when she was on the shoulder facing the wrong way before she took off into that traffic. 2 cars pulled right up to the van. There were others not far away yet they still didn't block her in 🙄 This shite is on them too. Did you see that unit get out of the way before she plowed into those cars? Citizens don't get paid to put their lives on the line however they know when they sign up for this job that's part of it. Don't get me wrong. I don't want to see anyone get hurt but if that's a given in your profession then you need to be the one. Not innocent people who had no chance to go anywhere due to a traffic break, smh...

It took almost a whole minute for anyone to think about checking on the car that got smashed into, despite there being at least 6 officers on scene that we can see.
They have to secure the threat before they can check on the victims. If they don’t, there could be more innocent victims wrapped into it

He knew how fast she was going enough so where he was trying to get out the way. He was a coward He knew when he moved out of her way she was going to hit those cars parked behind him. I am so mad. That cop stopped traffic on the freeway and then jumped their vehicle out of the way allowing the suspect to crash into citizens. They left the citizens as sitting ducks.
They had probable cause to stop after she hit two cops, instead they let it go on and on so citizens could be injured.

This happened 3 weeks ago here in Ontario Canada. High speed chase in the wrong direction on the 401, killing 2 grandparents with their infant grandchild. The grandparents were in Canada meeting their grandchildren for the first time too, from India. Horrible!

Respect to the one officer pit maneuvering even with the almost totaled cruiser still trying but while he was doing everything and had her slowed down and compromised where were the other 15 police cars that could have drove up and assisted and ended it before the crashes. If just one vehicle would have helped him, they could have stopped it right there, but he was left as the only one trying taking action. He was getting more assistance from the semi than his "team". The vehicle spinning during a pit maneuver is a possible outcome the other 15 cars need to be ready and prepared to act on that if it happens

I believe he was getting out of the Way so the vehicles are not sitting ducks and can move out of harms way but she was too fast. Or he was positioning himself to go after her. Instead she ( the crazy person) didn’t drive down the open lanes but plowed right into traffic.

The cop who moved their vehicle out of the way instead of abandoning it as a barrier or trying to block the van, should be charged for whatever injuries the civilian sustained

This type of cases are VERY RARE. Abandoning their car to block the entire road requires team work and communication. It is almost impossible for them to do that. There are 100s of possible outcomes. It is easy to say that AFTER the incident. There are 100s of legal complications they must consider, which limits what they can do. They have to by by the book. Even they have to get permission by radio to do pits. If someone is crazy and do that, then she is the only person responsible. She can stop and the everything will be ok, but she chooses to resist and hence the consequences.

The cops really failed almost in every way just becuase they didnt want to scratch their own cars. Multiple times they easily could’ve done a safe pit. The last cop couldv’e at least done something about it. Innocent civilians are behind you and you choose to let them take the hit.
