The eight Aedra are the gods who sacrificed part of their power to create the universe and they are like the gods. The fifteen Daedra didnt help to create the and are kinda like the gods who dont control everything but they enjoy messing with people. But, there are some good Daedra. I recommend you watch the first season of Elder Scrolls Lore. This is the second one and it makes more sense if you watch the first season before this one.
Nocturnal is my favourite prince after Azura, although I am not too into thieving in the games I do like the idea of dark not being entirely evil. Nocturnal really has a terrible history of being robbed: Cowl, eye and key.
my personal favorite combination is nocturnal and hermaeus mora: having knowlegde but be not known, this is the way to shape the world to your designs (the world still thinks that it was the bastard of uriel septim, who closed the oblivion gates, they still think it was general tullius who defeated the stormcloaks, they still don´t know what is going on in black reach >:D )
DeHerg Actually, the Thalmor kept claiming they were the ones that stopped the gates. And I would say a General has a big part in destroying the enemy to end the civil war.
I wonder if They will do a video about Jyggalag. He is my favorite daedric prince. And when they do sheogorath they need to talk about how he is the player from oblivion.
This is the episode the current voice actor hit his stride. He's been doing well but this episode is when he peaked, and everything sounds perfectly tuned and natural. Phenomenal job.
XD LOL no because of the way he tolled the story and the choice of music and I never heard the story of that young cat thief before. and so what if I like butts
I remember reading Purloined Shadows for the first time. You have to appreciate the time that goes into these stories and lore. A lot of it is more interesting than the actual game's events.
So I've followed this lore series since the first episode of Season 2. I must say that the best music so far is in this episode. That ambient soprano near the end was so Howard Shore it was spot on. You guys are rocking this, keep doing what you're doing.
It pains me that such a great lore series made with such passion shared by many Elder Scrolls fans does not receive the deserved views. Share the love for lore guys! Tis' a great universe we explore is Elder Scrolls series.
I like starting my characters with the Thieve's Guild because it gives my character a nice background story before becoming good & it's always good to have friends in low places
Okay with Nocturnal being the most obscure Daedric Prince ever aside from Mephala this was simply amazing and insightful! I love the story involving the master thief and apprentice it was simply breath taking! Thank you for making this!
Another great episode, can not wait for Meridia! Her Dawn Bringer sword and the Vampire Mace are my first two daedric goals when playing Skyrim, followed by the Star of Azura and either the Ebon Mail of Boethia or the Nightingale Armor. Keep up the great work!
Finally, Meridia will be next! One of the most benevolent of the Daedric Princes, she has a major role in Elder Scrolls Online, both as the anonymous benefactor of the Fighters Guild as well as the Groundskeeper of the Hollow City in Coldharbour and the adversay of Molag Bal.
Mads Krog Riis Just said that I can't wait for them to make a Elder Scrolls Lore about Jyggalag/Sheogorath and Lorkhan... I know that Lorkhan and the Divines created Mundus
The episode in the first series that gave brief descriptions about all the daedric princes pretty much said all there is that we know about Jyggalag at this point.
Funny thing about Lorkhan. You have already seen him. In fact you see him every night when you're outside staring up in the sky. But.... Nah you don't seem like you'd be interested to know what he is right now....
Great episode ShoddyCast. My favorite so far. It was very engaging and I was glued to the video from the first second to the last. I look forward to Meridia's episode. :)
@ Jackson Lomas: isn't it rather the identity behind the cowl that gets forgotten rather than the alter ego? One could say that the cowl is the Grey Fox, and once you don it your identity is devoured by it (well, at least until the Umbranox Grey Fox busted out an Elder Scroll).
Not the only one, but Shoddy Cast has planned what he will do and were still waiting for Lore Episodes about the rest of the Daedric Princes. Once that's done, he can move onto other subjects. Me personally, think he should do one about Uriel Septim of Arena, Morrowind and Oblivion.
brendan mount He's just making a reference to another game that would be relevant here; Meridia is the representation of sunlight in the TES universe. He's not trying to say that the two games take place in the same universe. Which, you're right, they don't.
Cielo Pachirisu i know he is. he is refering to darksouls. what i said is theres no proof that they cant both be in the same world just different parts of it
***** She cast a cure spell on herself. She's fine now. By the way, I've found out that I'm "bigger" and "Longer" than all the Redguards in Skyrim. There's a secret Temple Of Raving where I got to compare myself with the Dibella super stars of Skyrim, and I'm the biggest, fattest, and tightly packed nut sack in the entire Province. Me and Meridia made everyone speechless on the dance floor, and then we just couldn't help ourselves. . . needless to say, we accidentally flooded the entire Rave Temple, nearly causing the patrons and security to drown in our love potions. I now have a 100,000 gold bounty on my head from every Hold for overflowing Skyrim with my happy snow. I have to live in Solstheim now. Oh well. Meridia's a Daedric Prince, she can move in with me if she wants. Best thing, instant free STD cures, and no risk of pregnancy.
I'd love to see a Warhammer 40k lore series! It's a very rich lore based community and sometimes it could get very confusing at times. The quality of other lores made on this channel is amazing! Just the time and effort into these videos is fantastic! (:
These Lore videos are very well made. The information is extraordinary and the voice that is now being used makes it feel like an actual history documentary. I assume your using some program to change your voice? I mean, I doubt you got your Grandad to do this.
+gasmanoo not really. since Daedric Princes can take any form they want, she could have given herself tits the size of Tamriel. Really, the most impressive thing is how she showed restraint and decided not to do that.
***** Not really. The only undead worth any effort are the Draugr Death Lords with their ebony weapons and Vampires. Now if Dawnbreaker had the equivalent hit point damage of a typical daedric sword I'd be all over it. However, combining Dawnbreaker with Auriel's shield and bow does look awesome.
Can you imagine when The Elder Scrolls 6 is released, how the Lore will filled with new stuff? Maybe Talos comes back or some of the Deadra join forces. Shoddy will you be there for us again?
After all my time influencing the events of Nirn through my little window into Mundus I think the final God will be "player" - the one who inhibits a being of their choosing and rocks the very foundation... or at least delivers the message.
I was hoping she'd reward me with her kiss for retrieving the skeleton key back from the traitor Mercer. The agent is great, but you know, a kiss from nocturnal, a pretty daedric prince(princess) would be the best thing a male nightingale can get. XD
Anyone ever purposefully pledge their soul to as many daedric princes as possible? I'd love to see the result of a dozen godlike beings arguing over whose soul is thiers
I have no idea WHICH Daedric Lord I would worship, 'sides I'm too didtracted by how much like Shogorath I am to choose! Instead, I would probably go with one the Lost Princes!
Damn, I was hoping the next would be Namira. Well, If the next one is Meridia, the one after that is most likely going to be Molag Bal, the creator of vampires. After that, I don't know.
Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset and Clockwork City DLC totally corrupted her character. Throughout the Elder Scrolls series, she's always been neutral, obscure and content to just chill in a dark corner like she's an introverted goth girl. Nothing so simple as good or bad. She's supposed to be a more complicated character capable of both benevolence and malevolence. The Clockwork City and Summerset DLCs made her hostile, violent, manipulative, invasive, selfish and belligerent. This is part of why I consider this deviation of her character in ESO as non-canon.
this narrator is going in the log book of "people that should narrate everything" alongside Morgan Freeman, Barry White, and James Earl Jones
+Dr. Barber It's Haskill. He supposedly killed the other guy.
+Dr. Barber You forgot Attenborough :(
thats what I was thinking what an incredible narration voice for a youtube channel no less.
true
A r i z o n a S a d b o i I would commit suicide after 5 minutes omg

Shoddycast, ESO is out on steam now. Thoughts?
***** thats a video thats already out
Lord of the Rings lore... If done weekly it will take about.. 500 years? Give or take.
The eight Aedra are the gods who sacrificed part of their power to create the universe and they are like the gods. Andrew Northover *9 Aedra

DuskyPredator Why the heck are the high elves so set on taking credit for everything. xD
ZioThainE The Thalmor took credit for that not the general High Elves.
I know about the cowl and key but what eye
Hm. I bet Sheogorath will be the final daedric prince. Gotta save the best for last, after all.
I would say it's either him or Mehrune Dagon. Or Molag Bal if they hadn't already done him.
I wonder if They will do a video about Jyggalag. He is my favorite daedric prince. And when they do sheogorath they need to talk about how he is the player from oblivion.
GrayKyurem probably right after they do sheogorath because of reasons i wont spoil
GrayKyurem Jyggalag is Sheogorath, no? I though the daedric princes feared his power so they made him mad.
Rozano spoilers!
This is the episode the current voice actor hit his stride. He's been doing well but this episode is when he peaked, and everything sounds perfectly tuned and natural. Phenomenal job.
This was the most beautiful episode in my opinion
XD LOL
no because of the way he tolled the story and the choice of music and I never heard the story of that young cat thief before.
and so what if I like butts
Don't worry we've all fapped off to Nocturnal.
I remember reading Purloined Shadows for the first time. You have to appreciate the time that goes into these stories and lore. A lot of it is more interesting than the actual game's events.

What do you call something that Nocturnal gives off?
A Nocturnal emission :P
Made me grin. :)
well played
I tip my iron helmet to you good sir!
Badum tish!
My goodness this is the calmest voice I've ever heard. Amazing narration, great editing. Awesome channel
I love this series. It has been a pleasure to watch it evolve. I hope to see many more episodes on the way.
As a latecomer to the elder scrolls fan base, this series played a large role in getting me hooked. Keep up the great work guys.
I like starting my characters with the Thieve's Guild because it gives my character a nice background story before becoming good & it's always good to have friends in low places
This is one of my favorite channels on TH-cam. Keep it up Shoddycast!!
Okay with Nocturnal being the most obscure Daedric Prince ever aside from Mephala this was simply amazing and insightful! I love the story involving the master thief and apprentice it was simply breath taking! Thank you for making this!

My reaction when I see there's a new TES lore video: I know I'll love it, so insta-like! :)
By Nocturnal's rack!
diaikllx,💞💖💋💝💖🏦♍💓👣
Yee
BY THE TWO DIVINES!
What a babe... I mean, wow, what an interesting and insightful video.
Thanks again ShoddyCast , you guys are the best on telling the stories :) .
by the way guys , what's the name of the song that plays at the ending?
A lovely addition to The Lore series.
Love this series!! Can't wait for the lore about Jyggalag/sheogorath! And Lorkhan!!
Lorkhan is not a deadra, he took part of creation so even though the elves/mer him is he still technically a aedra
Mads Krog Riis Just said that I can't wait for them to make a Elder Scrolls Lore about Jyggalag/Sheogorath and Lorkhan... I know that Lorkhan and the Divines created Mundus
But next to nothing is known about Jyggalag. (That's what I hear anyway.)
Oh, Shoddy Ones. Once again, you've made my day.
Thank you SO much, and keep up the great work!
I can't wait for Sheogorath. No doubt shoddycast will hold the suspense by doing that one last. Thanks for the great videos!
6:31 Is that snoop dogg?
Gunape McLeroy possibly
Foshizzle
Yes
Your onto something man
These videos are so good! Thanks to everyone that works on these and please keep them coming! :D
kind of sad that there was nothing in this about the grey fox. i mean he was not even mentioned
Jackson Lomas
Mind blown.
Jackson Lomas Lol that's what I was thinking!
What Jackson said, plus that could be considered Oblivion spoilers.
The Gray Fox over came the curse Jackson Lomas.
Excellent work as always. Love the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series. Thank you very much for these.
I like the effort you guys put into this. Respect.
What? A Meridia Lore video? Heck yes, finally!
Unleash the power of the SUN!
Praise the sun!
Praise the Night Mistress!
HellGod67 theres no proof that both games cant exist in the same world
brendan mount He's just making a reference to another game that would be relevant here; Meridia is the representation of sunlight in the TES universe. He's not trying to say that the two games take place in the same universe. Which, you're right, they don't.
Cielo Pachirisu i know he is. he is refering to darksouls. what i said is theres no proof that they cant both be in the same world just different parts of it
I can't wait for Meridia. She's my babe!
Meridia's a b*tch.
Kaden Eichhorn
She's mine. You can't have her! Why did you cheat on me Meridia!!!?
Lol he said meridas a bitch not meridas my bitch
*****
She cast a cure spell on herself. She's fine now. By the way, I've found out that I'm "bigger" and "Longer" than all the Redguards in Skyrim. I'd love to see a Warhammer 40k lore series! It's a very rich lore based community and sometimes it could get very confusing at times. The quality of other lores made on this channel is amazing! Just the time and effort into these videos is fantastic! (:
Nocturnal reminds me so much of my Goddess Nyx.
The khajiit student is so adorable.
You guys totally should start a lore series on Dark Souls lore! Praise the sun!
Isnt it crazy how sheogorath trolled mystery and unkowing itself.
Gotta love ShoddyCast!
One of the best episodes. I loved the ending part!
I like how all the darkness in apocrypha drains your life while all light in the twilight sepulchre does the same interesting contradiction
These Lore videos are very well made. The information is extraordinary and the voice that is now being used makes it feel like an actual history documentary. I assume your using some program to change your voice? I mean, I doubt you got your Grandad to do this.
Nocturnal is by far my favourite Daedra
Nothing really impresive about nocturnal except her fun bags....
+gasmanoo not really. since Daedric Princes can take any form they want, she could have given herself tits the size of Tamriel. Really, the most impressive thing is how she showed restraint and decided not to do that.
+HERESY That's why Molag Bal is best waifu
+Ethan Stansmore too bad s/he's vivec's waifu/husbando
Daniel is she really?
Im honestly curious any references.
Been waiting for this one for a long while now, my favourite yet! I'm always loyal to the Thieves Guild.
I don't particularly see Nocturnal as an evil entity.
Thank you Kyle and Josh
I would love it if you guys did a lore series about the bioshock series
OMG THAT VOICE!! i would have 100% speech with that voice
Keep up the good work, i love this series, i can't wait for another story
one of my favorite books, along with three thieves!! gotta love those plot twists
Nocturnal is my favorite Daedric Prince of The Elder Scrolls series! Daedric Princess, actually.
simply amazing, shoddy cast you never fail to impress, and here I thought I knew everything there is to know about daedric lords..
Wow, that master thief was kind of a dick, that said, crafty, admirably so.
Thieves are dicks. Mages are anti-social loners. Warriors are arrogant douches.
I guess I'd be the mage out of the three then, lol
Azraelseraphim Mages for life
Look down look down at Lonesome road before you travel on
This is very well done. Thank you for sharing it with us all.
Awesome man. Thanks for the series!
Meridia might be a touch bossy (LISTEN! HEAR ME AND OBEY!), but you get a completely awesome sword out of the deal.
Its kind of an under powered sword....
This narrator forgot to mention the 2 of her most powerful artifacts ;)
Goliath Probably
I would've thought Nocturnal would be pleased by the girl. But ah whatevs.
Loved the Thief story.
Soddy ive been watching these from the firt ES lore vid u did to the latest and they have all been amqzing keep it up
subbed before the intro ended.
you sir are a classy man.
I know that so far they have only made one Dishonored game but I still think it would make a cool lore series.
Highlight of the week, hands down.
Poor cat burglar girl!
+MUstafa altameme she got probably killed, moral of the story; dont piss off a daedric prince...
Death by the sight of nocturnals titties..
" she was swallowed alive by darkness" according to the book Purloined Shadows found in Skyrim
at least she saw dem tities
Nocturnal has the hottest character model in my opinion. Can't wait for the next one.
This is the best thing on TH-cam
I love that voiceactor D: ShoddyCast How much skooma is in your lore videos? They are so addictive.
Ironically, although she is the Matron of Thieves, her artifacts are always stolen
After you guys complete deadric princes you should cover their notable servants such as manimarco and miraak.
Still my favorite Deadra.
Quick question, isn't Nocturnal the sister of Azura. I think I've read that somewhere
It's a rumor but hasn't been proven. With the whole "Oh I'm Noc-fucking-turnal and can't tell anyone about myself!
***** Hail sithis! Is what I stick to.
***** And I think we all know who to thank for Music haha.
Sista
If you're going to do Meridia, will you also cover the magna-ge?
Can you imagine when The Elder Scrolls 6 is released, how the Lore will filled with new stuff? Maybe Talos comes back or some of the Deadra join forces. Shoddy will you be there for us again?
I'm so so excited for Meridia! She is my favorite daedric Prince!
Nocturnal is my favorite of the bunch :)
Meridia is next
Cool
She's my favorite
When you are all done with the Daedric Prince lore could you make a TES Lore video about Akavir and its inhabitance?
This Kajit Is A Proud Nightingale.
After all my time influencing the events of Nirn through my little window into Mundus I think the final God will be "player" - the one who inhibits a being of their choosing and rocks the very foundation... or at least delivers the message.
the storyteller's voice is the best
Gotta love the VO
Best episode so far!
Awesome episode!
the story of the little girl khatijji was sad
I have always had two mothers, that of Azura, and that of Nocturnal.
No one wants to serve the lovely Nocturnal for all eternity? JUST. LOOK. AT. HER.
Can't wait for Meridia, she's my favorite.
May the shadow of nocturnals twilight guide you fellow nightingales.
That was the best lore videos of all!
Yes! Meridia is my favorite I love the Dawnbreaker sword
I can't wait until you get into the beastary of Tamrial. Slaughterfish in general fascinate me.
I was hoping she'd reward me with her kiss for retrieving the skeleton key back from the traitor Mercer. The agent is great, but you know, a kiss from nocturnal, a pretty daedric prince(princess) would be the best thing a male nightingale can get. XD
If she removed her robe, I'd be happy ;)
Chris Nichols You know daedric princes are depicted as genderless? Stop making up your stupid little fantasies.
+Giancarlo Caballero Most represent themselves with mortal genders.
Id rather have sex
"Evergloam" ITS EVERGLOOM. That kept bugging me the whole time lol. Still, a good video as usual
Anyone ever purposefully pledge their soul to as many daedric princes as possible? I'd love to see the result of a dozen godlike beings arguing over whose soul is thiers
That argument will probably end with Sithis and Hircine barely winning. After all, werewolves go to the Hunting Grounds.
@the metal clad lad In that case, why do they hate each other so much, Hollywood aside?
I have no idea WHICH Daedric Lord I would worship, 'sides I'm too didtracted by how much like Shogorath I am to choose! Instead, I would probably go with one the Lost Princes!
here comes the sun, do do do do...
Damn, I was hoping the next would be Namira. Well, If the next one is Meridia, the one after that is most likely going to be Molag Bal, the creator of vampires. After that, I don't know.

The Clockwork City and Summerset DLCs made her hostile, violent, manipulative, invasive, selfish and belligerent. This is part of why I consider this deviation of her character in ESO as non-canon.
