I considered that and might try it. I just didn’t want them to disappear under the train.I might add some black to it. Or a whole dark grey one with some highlights like the gold. It’s a good test bed to play with. Thanks for the suggestions
Depends how you want to connect them up. I actually leave the Engines without jacob's bogies (like the real TGV trains). Then I do the carriages in pairs - so only 2 jacob's bogies. But, if you wanted to connect up all the carriages you'd need a 3rd to go in the middle. And if you wanted to connect everything including the engines... Then 5. Just bare in mind if you're like me, you'll be wanting to tidy any spaces under the trains :)
Great change! I'm still deciding wether i like this train or not. I salute the inclusion of doors, but i wonder if the traditional ones wouldnt been nicer, even if not quite matches with the kind of train. Fair and honest reference to Robin's great work. Thanks for the tutorial.
I was looking at the doors when I did this and was umming and arring about them. And I always make sure I reference others work. Don’t think he’ll mind me doing this as he knows I’ve a history of this kind of modification. And he’s an amazing TH-camr!
Looks like im doing both yours and Notts lad because I cannot decide which I like the most...they both look great. Plus set 60337 is on sale for 109.99...might get two for that price and stick the motor and battery in the BNSF which will look smart cruising track instead of sitting alone in the sidings. Trains rule ok!
That’s a good price! I’ll have to checkout Notts lad’s version! This one was interesting because of how the chassis is designed on that version. I wanted to make sure there were no gaps and thought having a bigger bogie looked better than a smaller one with filler under the chassis.
Two together look great, im off to get another one as it just looks enormous, I thought the train had about ten carriages before I paused to count. I thinks I will throw in the parts for this at the end of another pick a brick order im doing, I was also inspired by the Notts lad, trains rule ok.
Hey dude. You need to take the kid setting off your channel! Think you’re safe based on others. I keep missing your content because it doesn’t notify me and I miss commenting on your videos!
What?!? That’s not right. It’s all public. So did you see my last message at about the age setting? If not, email me. Email is on my TH-cam about page.
Awesome bogies! I would go with black or dark gray instead of light gray. But the gold looks sweet!

If I buy 2 of the same Lego train sets so I can put the 2 trains together, how many Jacob’s bogies would it take and how many parts to purchase?

I like the Gold color.
It really pops doesn’t it. I considered dark grey for the bogie as a whole but I wanted it to be visible.
Very cool 👍
Thank you 😊
