The app will use your gps/location in the background when it's looking for gas stations. I don't THINK you have to have it on when you actually fill up at the pump. But, I'm not 100% sure - I set my location to be on whenever I opened up the app. I haven't been using it much lately. There's a Costco and Sam's club near our house and it's usually the same price for gas as using the gasbuddy card (or cheaper). So, I usually gas up at one of those. Sorry I can't be of more help!
i am grandfathered into the 50$ a year plan have had it for 3 years now and i been thinking if i will save more with a 3%-5% credit card.
I guess it just depends on how much you buy.
With my BP credit card I get .15 back per gallon.
That's awesome!

You sure it’s not up to 50 gallons on a fill up?
The limit has increased. It's now $100/day instead of $75. Which is good....because I can't fill up for under $75 anymore. 😢
@@BrittanyFlammer so what about the 50 gallons in the description?
I'm not sure what description you mean, but according to the gasbuddy (help.gasbuddy.com) the limit is currently $100/day and $400/week.
How does Gasbuddy make money? There has to be strings attached.
They make money through ads, they do sell an upgraded subscription, and they sell anonymous customer data (their likes/dislikes) to gas stations.
Does your phone gps/location need to be on at the pump in order to receive the discount??
