You all should check this video out from the series “Directors on Directors,” which features Taylor and another director discussing her “All Too Well” short film. It gives great insight into her role as filmmaker. th-cam.com/video/x8zfsf4azLo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=hP2EoZV1xM6vMuLr
Imagine saying she only writes breakup songs as if that makes her simple and annoying…when this is the kind of masterpieces she creates. Her power to connect with people is something I’ve never seen. Also, she writes about SO MANY human experiences, I’m hoping to see you discover those also.
I can totally relate to that line on a personal level. When I was younger I often used the truth like it was a weapon. I'm so glad I grew in that regard. The truth is still very important but now I try to inject it with kindness and that makes all the difference.
This isn't her first time directing. She started in 2019 for her mv "the man" when she couldn't find any free female diectors so she decided to do it herself. Would love to see your reaction to "the man" too
You should do the man, and then the behind the scenes as well. Also, I second it, please give us your producer experience as it pertains to her music videos and shows ❤
Fun fact: the fight scene was almost completely improvised by sadie and dylan based on taylors suggestions from her experience. they truly nailed the type of argument that happens in toxic relationships with gaslighting partners. they killed the scene!!!
Yes. It’s based on a true story. When Taylor was 20 she dated 29 year old Jake Gyllenhaal. The relationship was toxic to say the least.. it’s rumored that he actually contacted Taylor after this short-film was released and apologized and said watching the film was like looking through a foto album. There are many factors to this film. One of them being that the actors are the same age as Taylor and Jake was at the time. Taylor is known for putting small details in her music/music videos as clues to who it’s about or what it’s about
“The Moment I Knew” is the short version of him abandoning her at her 21st birthday. Also Tolerate It. So many songs about Jake Gyllenhaal. This is one reason women love Taylor. She doesn’t just suffer in silence. You are the first people I’ve ever seen who watched all the way through the end credits before they started talking. I was smiling at your professional interest in that.
She said that writing this really helped her recover from the breakup. Remembering something all “too” is painful I’m sure! She repeats the phrase over and over like she’s saying he can’t downplay how it went down. She’s not going crazy…she was there and she remembers it. And so does he, so let’s not pretend it was just a little fling. It was real and the breakup changed who she was. “You kept me like a secret but I kept you like an oath” is a great lyric. It shows how they were ultimately on different pages regarding the relationship.
Taylor isn't afraid to break the rules with the 10-minute song and short film. She is probably the most creative person in the industry right now. I also like that they shot it on 35 mm, I think it gave a warmer feel than digital.
I think this was the song that made me aware of her brilliance as a lyricist. "You kept me like a secret, I kept you like an oath" She creates incredible imagery and emotional tugs. I never had strong feelings about her one way or the other. I just felt like she was a talented young woman living her life. But my respect for her talent and philanthropy grows daily.
It's about Jake Gyllenhaal. "I'll get older but your lovers stay my age." His current girlfriend is 28.... Yeah. The fact that he goes for younger girls and then says "If we had been closer in age maybe it would have been fine.", it's so cruel.
Her live performance of this song on SNL is a masterpiece. My 50 yo hubby who is not a Swifty saw it and he said “ok, now I get it”. It’s just…chefs kiss
The OG version of this storytelling masterpiece is what brought me into the fandom. Two years later, I'm still scratching around in that damn rabbit hole. I'm wondering if I'll ever escape the chokehold she has on me, yet I'm hoping she never lets up.
I also want to point out her use of color as symbolism. When she’s happy, angry or hurt in the video, you’ll see a lot of red hues and when it’s 13 years later, the primary color is blue (coinciding with the lyric “did the twin flame bruise paint you blue”). The use of blue symbolizes that her feelings had cooled and she was frozen to it now. It’s really beautiful.
I’d actually argue that the entire video is coded either blue or red, depending on if it’s a sad/cool or passionate/warm moment. (And the twin flames thing is also a reference to them both being Sagittarius - which has a blue birthstone - and the idea of twin flame connection from astrology, which is just a way of saying really deep connection.)
@@HPReact oh boy yall are gonna be saying “damn you Taylor Swift” a lot on this journey you are on if you say that every time a song is really emotional 😂😂 she is the queen of tapping into people’s emotions!
I would love to see y’all react to the official music video for “The Man” and also the behind the scenes for it. It’s the first video that she directed. She said it came out of necessity because she wanted a female director but all the ones she wanted to use were unavailable so she decided to try directing it herself.
I loved how the fights and uncomfortable scenes actually felt uncomfortable. And they didn’t flow like a scripted/directed fight or negative scene. I think that’s why it hits so hard. Feels too real. I also appreciate people who listen to the lyrics. I’ve noticed a lot of the older generation don’t so it’s pleasantly surprising when one does. My Mom explained this by saying that music didn’t used to be “deep” or it normally wasn’t. And Taylor is really known for being that so if you’re not paying attention to her use of words, you miss a lot.
Hi, Sam here, I think your mom is right regarding Pop especially. As a music writer, I pay particular attention to lyrics. My taste in music tends toward deep concepts in the bands and artists I grew up on. Check out YES (Owner of a lonely heart, their idea of pop) It's great, but doesn't compare to the older and more complex lyrics. David Bowie, an amazing lyricist. R.I.P., Also Genesis up until 1980, after that they went totally pop. Artists with deep lyrics: Rush Crosby, Stills, and Nash, the Beatles and so on and so forth. Thank you!
@@HPReact thank you! I’ll look into those. For the longest time I would get frustrated at her for not really listening to things. She’s been distracted, doing something else. Drove me nuts. Same for movies. And she says the same about those. That you could follow most of them without giving 100% attention before. But now and particularly with the ones I like, you can’t be sitting there talking or looking at a magazine or… anyway. Thanks!
I’m 66 and the lyrics just get me. Taylor is a musical poet and wordsmith. An extraordinary person in singing, songwriting, directing and character. Since I was 18 pink Floyd was my creative fix but now a dyed in the wool swifty
You guys are great! Really enjoying your Taylor journey. I would recommend the two most recent videos she directed, “Anti-Hero” (she just won a Grammy for that song) and “Lavender Haze”. Going back a few years, you should check out “The Man” video, which is peak Taylor fun. “All Too Well” is a song from a decade ago, which is considered by many to be her magnum opus. This was the re-recorded version she did in the process to own the rights to her music. It’s Taylor’s storytelling best.
I haven't watched it yet. I'm just sorry that you're watching the film before you watched the lyric video. There are things you might miss. I just want to say that yes, Taylor did direct this film. She directs the majority of her videos too. That's why she won the mtv award for the Anti-hero video. 😀
This is my favourite and FYI I am 64 yrs old and I am proud to say a new Swiftie. The more I listen to her music the more I love it, the swifties really do get her and because of them I am proud to say I am one too. I can’t wait to get through more of her music.♥️🌹
It’s not her first time directing her videos. She’s directed many of her videos. This was a personal song that she wrote about her on and off relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal. Cool bit of info about the song is that the original song was normal length, a few mins but she mentioned at a concert once that when she wrote it it was 10 mins long and they had to cut it down. Ever since then her fans have begged her for the 10 min version and so she finally released it as well as this short film/video for the song for Red Taylor’s Version. Another video she produced/directed along with her friend Blake Lively was for the song I Bet You Think About Me. It’s a cute and humourous video, also about Jake G lol!
We had no idea this was about Jake G. We figured it was something that pertained to her personal life, but had no idea it was about him. Helps put it all into context.
Love you guys! Watched all your TS reactions. Love how you recognized her superb talent from 5he very first thing you watched. I knew you would like All Too Well, but didn’t expect you to praise the film so much. My fav interaction: Scott: When’s the last time you kissed someone like that? Sam: This morning. 💕💕💕
It was an amazing film. What can we say? We were not expecting how emotional it would be. We didn't know WHAT we were going to see. So, we were pleasantly surprised. And yes, Sam tells me all the time (truly) how in love he is with his wife and how it gets stronger and stronger every day.
Now, please go read the lyrics so you can pick up on all the gems you may have missed because you were so entranced by the film. I think they are the best ones she’s written. 💕
I recommend Out Of The Woods music video. For All Too Well, I recommend watching her live Eras Tour performance or the visual music video version is worth a reaction because the focus is more on the lyrics.
In the beginning his song was very emotional and hard for her to sing but it became a fan favorite at her concerts and took on a whole new meaning for her which she appreciates. The Taylor Swift long pond studio sessions/ with lyrics when she sings this you can see and feel the emotion. Beautiful song.❤
I kinda wish you would've reacted to the lyric video for this one; this song is all about they lyrics. The short film is excellent, but it's so easy to get lost in it. There's a behind the scenes of this (and many) of her MVs that seems like it'd be right up your alley. I'd still love to see you react to Don't Blame Me live from the Reputation Tour simply because it's one of her best performances. After that, I'd recommend anything from the Folklore Long Pond Sessions (standouts for me are Exile, My Tears Ricochet, Peace, and The Lakes). Loving this journey for you so far, thanks for giving us more Taylor. 💜
@@HPReact The behind-the-scenes for all (all!) of her music videos are on her official TH-cam page. They’re well worth watching, even the ones before she started directing her own videos, because you learn SO much!
About the dialog in the middle, first they played it fecking awesome. Second, I would say if catching up with friends doesn't include her, there is already something wrong with the relationship.
Love your take on the short film.. exile from the long pond or soon you’ll get better or my favorite snl false God.. Btw the song is about Jake Gyllenhaal..
Exile is great but seriously.... Folklore Long Pond Sessions are all great. My Tears Ricochet reflects her world after Scooter screwed her over. I personally think that song is one of her bests.
She is a mastermind, a genius in poetry and expressing her feelings and experiences. I'm proud to say this is the song that made me a swiftie and fall in love with her as a person(fan level) and her work.
Love your commentary! Your pausing is done very well. Other reaction channels pause every 30 seconds or so which can be tiring. I’ve been a Taylor fan for her mainstream radios hits over the years, but didn’t really dive in to her discography in depth until last year. She’s truly a songwriting genius and an amazing performer. One of my favorite directed videos of hers is Anti-Hero from her more recent Midnights album. Also add False God the SNL version to your watch list if you haven’t already.
Taylor is a great director, she’s a visual storyteller. Both actors were amazing. Sadie has been mentioned, Dylan is from The Maze Runner films and Teen Wolf among many other things. I think he captured Jake’s “I’m a serious actor & hip cool guy” phase perfectly. She’s very good friends with actor Miles Teller and his wife and they both appear in her I’ll Bet You Think About Me video. It’s from the same album’s vault tracks, Miles is playing a more fictional version of Jake and it’s directed by her very close friend, Blake Lively.
Hey again! So glad you enjoyed this recommendation, it’s really something special. Like you said it hits different as it is just so real, relatable and feels familiar for those of us who have experienced love and heartbreak. It feels that way because she’s so insanely talented and because it is real, something she went through. It’s crazy that she wrote this at such a young age! I’m so glad she decided to revisit it over a decade later with this masterpiece, it was something us swifties so desperately wanted a video for.
Thank you for the great reaction to this beautiful Taylor short film for "All Too Well". She did an amazing job all of the way round,. Sadie and Dylan were perfect as the leads in the film. Jake really did not show up for Taylor's 21st birthday even after promising that he would be there. Taylor wrote another song about that event titled "The Moment I Knew". If you view the lyric video or the audio video, use Taylor's Version.
You guys are doing great! This is arguably her best song. There is a lyric video with her in it that will allow you to take in the lyrics better. It’s a lot to watch the video on a first listen! Y’all did great!
Im sure you’ve read that she wrote and directed this song. Taylor is brilliant and this is her story which she’s lived and I’m sure you’ve been told what relationship she’s speaking of. This is my top 5 from Taylor. You guys are great, stay the course Taylor is the best. ❤
Fun fact: this was filmed in Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively’s house. There is a Behind the Scenes for this video that is really good and shows Taylor’s directing style. She definitely trusts her actors. Also, it shows how down to earth and goofy she can be.
I strongly recommend you guys watch the behind the scenes! While there was some great improvising done, the points at which Taylor steps in make clear that she had a precise and specific vision (down to the exact lyrics in certain moments) for what she was picturing! It really shows how she flourished in this medium.
One of the things that shocks most newbies about Taylor's writing is how relatable everything is. Her early work was often autobiographical such as this one and then later work has explored characters, but it's all very real. I can definitely see why she outgrew the country music genre because she writes on so many topics and situations that you don't often find in the genre, especially from the female's perspective. And she's also obviously experimented sonically. I cannot wait to learn what kind of sound we get on her new The Tortured Poets Department album in April! Will she stay in the Midnights lane? Will it be like Folklore & Evermore? Or will it be new vibes??? The song titles are giving retro (like early Hollywood & crooners), but we'll see.
Taylor was 20 when this happened to her. She turned 21 right after they broke up. Based on her age, it's when she was dating Jake Gyllenhaal. I believe he was 33 years old. I really hope the rumor is true, that he called after watching this film, actually seeing how much his actions hurt TaIyor. And, I hope he expressed regret considering how much he hurt her, whether he meant to or not. After all, he should've know better!
I see my fellow swifties has given you all the info already. You should totally look at the behind the scenes of making this video. It shows even more her brilliant mind. Also your reactions are fantastic and i love hearing your thoughts
This song right here is why labels should support songs that are any length. People could miss out on a masterpiece. Thank goodness her current went along with what she wanted for Taylors Version
This is my trying and all too well are both some of her best emotionally in tune beautifully written songs where she can just describe a human experience and feeling so well.
While you are on the emotional road with her songs, Ronan has to be next. But I warn you, get some hankies ready for it. I can't listen to Ronan without tearing up. Rock on guys! ....editing this, just for context. Ronan is a song about a young boy named Ronan Thompson who died because of cancer. Taylor stumbled over his mothers blog while she was writing about his fight against cancer. She used some words from the blog in the song and listed Maya Thompson as a co-writer. Also the money that is earned with the song goes to a Foundation Maya founded, for the fight against childhood cancer.
I agree that Ronan should be next as long as you guys are on the emotional road already. Just bawled my eyes out the other day, I was listening to the songs from Red and the Ronan lyric video (with his photos) came up. I cried for two hours. And I almost never cry at movies or songs. That is something else. Also, her life performance is soo good.
@@grettaoltjerMe too, I don't cry over music usually, but this song and when you know the story behind it, if you don't have some tears in your eyes, I don't want to have anything to do with you. Greets from Germany!
The actors are Sadie Sink from Stranger Things and Dylan O’brien from Maze Runner trilogy, Love and Monsters and much more. Both very talented actors. This is about TS and Jake Gyllenhaal. She was 20 and he was 28 or 29 when they dated.
Brilliant actors. We had no idea Jake and TS even dated. Yes, we live under a rock. lol. But now that video has context that we didn't know before and that makes it even more interesting.
Have loved these reactions from you both. You’re so thoughtful in your responses and also really let the music speak for itself without a lot of interruptions which is rare in reaction videos. Thank you for the time you take to share this content with us ❤ The Folklore and Evermore albums were some of my favorite of hers. I love a wide range of her music but in terms of storytelling and the emotional bond I feel with her music, those were some of my top ones and came out at a time when we all needed to feel that. Cardigan and Willow are part of the same storyline, so I’d suggest watching those two videos together. ❤️
I was wondering if you guys would be silent for the entire short film. 😂 So glad you weren't, because you could have forgotten some things to comment on. I liked that you included some production-specific comments too. 👍 When Taylor Swift originally presented the "All Too Well" concept, it was 10 minutes long. Fortunately, someone recorded that original presentation and it was safely tucked away. For the album, it was trimmed down to normal song length and I always thought the final version was great. But, it turns out that the trimmed lyrics were the most powerful ones! 🤯 I think this is a songwriting masterpiece. 😍 I hope someday you react to Taylor Swift's official "All Too Well" lyric video so that you can focus on its lyrics -- I prefer it over this short film.
You guys are so enjoyable to hang out with on this journey. Your openmindness and honesty while listening to her is much appreciated after all the hate she gets. I read it's already been commented that she has been directing her videos for a while, but even before that, she was already doing the video treatments since her third album Speak Now (where she's the sole writer to prove a point to people who said she didn't pull her weight in writing sessions). She's also in the room for production, she's the mastemind behind album designs, tour, etc. She can do it all, but helps herself with professionals too. Btw, soon her Eras Tour will be on Disney + and you don't want to miss out on it. As you've seen, given that you've done songs of different albums... 1989: Blank Space Reputation: Ready For It Folklore: This Is Me Trying Red: All Too well ...each has a different vibe and style/genre, etc. Her Eras Tour is divided in segments honoring each with it's own style making it feel like mini concerts all in 1. It's nostalgic for swifties who have been there all along, as well as a gift for new ones who weren't there on the first round. I'd love to see your mind get blown away with the greatness of it. ✌🏼😊
Loved this reaction! Her storytelling is my favorite part of Taylor. For a different vibe than what youve seen before, id suggest the Willow Music Video, Bejeweled Music Video, and the Style Music Video. Also, the Miss Americana documentary is incredible and well worth your time! I know its long, so you could do it in 3-5 parts and have that be part of your biweekly series. All Too Well is usually in the top 10 songs of taylors for every swiftie. ❤❤❤❤
Awesome reaction, guys! Loving this Taylor Swift journey that you're on. It truly is a rabbit hole. 😂 I didn't see anyone give full context to the 10-minute version of ATW in the comments yet, so I'm sorry if I missed a comment, and this is redundant information. "All Too Well" (the standard 5 minute version) is a deep cut from her album "Red," which was released in 2012. As many others have said, the song is widely speculated to be about Jake Gyllenhall. Actually, the majority of "Red" is considered to be about him due to the timeline of its release and their relationship. Fans also agree that this song is about Jake because of a scarf that Taylor was seen wearing while she was out and about with him and his sister. It's also worth noting that the 5th track on each of Taylor's albums is always her most vulnerable. ATW is, of course, a track 5 song. Taylor said in a few interviews that this was one of the hardest songs for her to write, but it was also super healing. She didn't expect it to have much mainstream success due to its vulnerable nature, which is why it was a deep cut. Nevertheless, it was insanely popular among fans. In a late night interview, Taylor made the mistake of mentioning that the song was originally 10 minutes long before it had to be cut down to 5 minutes. Fans went nuts and hounded her for years for the full version of the song, but as time passed, we didn't have much hope of ever getting to hear it... until she released "Red (Taylor's Version)" in 2021. You might already know that Taylor is rerecording her first 6 albums because the masters were sold behind her back. So, any time you see "Taylor's Version" attached to a song or album, she owns the masters to it. So, when she rerecorded "Red," she gave us the 10-minute version of the song in all its glory. And to this day, it's my favorite song of all time. I have a tattoo of the scarf on my forearm, with the lyrics, "It was rare, I was there, I remember it all too well." SUCH relatable lyrics for anyone who has ever been madly in love and then had their heart pounded into the ground. ❤️🩹
Brilliant. Thank you for this. Context means everything. We are not privy to her personal life/timing of her music releases, so we miss a lot of that looking at them for the first time now. So always good to know.
@@HPReact Do you want a quick rundown of who songs are (believed to be*) about, so you have the context going in to them? (*It’s worth noting she never really confirms or denies, but in the case of All to Well, Jake’s sister confirmed it. Some also take the Spider-Man kiss in the film to be confirmation, as well as the fact that the actor playing Him, later on, is named Jake.)
After the release of TTPD she said she thought her next chapter would be directing. I think she pictures these scenes/her videos/her performances as she’s writing. She’s already been 10 steps ahead.
There are so many great versions of this song. The lyric video is worth watching, the SNL live performance is worth watching, but my favourite is the Grammy live version on the piano, even it that is only the 5 minutes version! 😍 But going from here, the long pond studio session of Exile would probably make sense. And afterwards or before have Don't Blame Me (which you had in the recent poll already), which is a completely different vibe again. 😉
This song is about Jake Gyllenhaal. She did record a 3 min song on the album Red, but she always said that she cut a lot of things from de original version. The fans asked so many times for the original Now she is recording all the albuns again because of Scooter Braun ahd she released the 10 min versions, the original. It's amazing!! (sorry my english, i'm brazilian)
Maybe it was obvious to you, but Some people miss one of the concepts of this film. All the scenes like for example "the first crack in the glass" are chapters in the book called "All too Well" that she has written and is signing and reading from in the end scene to the girls crying. So in the film she is an author instead of a singer/songwriter, but still moving people and making us feel things with her words. Btw Taylor has her own movie with a self written script coming out in the next years with Searchlight studios.
Wow! That's amazing. Can't wait for that project. And yes we love the choices, metaphors, lighting and story she created. Certainly a film you need to see more than once to catch everything, but it was not lost on us. That's what makes this such a great piece.
I was 18 when this one came out originally in 2012 and was going through my first heartbreak and would sing and cry to this in the car everyday for a long time lol!! The lyrics are so dang good. Edit: still crying to this song and video lol Sadie and Dylan are incredible.
this one is about Jake Gyllenhaal, who was older than her as other coments said. But about the actors, they had at the time of filming the same age as Taylor and Jake at the time they dated Just adding: i believe Taylor gave them a general about the kichen scene and they improved it while filming
I think you will love her folklore & evermore albums (her pandemic albums) but due to pandemic she only did 1 video each for them to launch the album but really did not much marketing for them (both were surprise drops). She let a lot of other influences (movies, books, other people’s issues, etc) be her muse for most of the songs. There are 3 personal songs on folklore: Greatest American Dynasty, My Tears Riccochet (about her masters being sold by her label to the one person her label knew had put her in tears several times), and Invisible String. But the rest are motivated differently (there are 3 songs that make up a love triangle with each song told from the viewpoint of each of the 3 people- really clever).
Thank you all for the wonderful comments, info and recommendations. Again, we ♥ you all. This one hit us in the feels for sure. We were not prepared to walk down emotion boulevard road on this day. She repeats the phrase over and over like she’s saying he can’t downplay how it went down. She’s not going crazy…she was there and she remembers it. Powerful lines, real moments. Amazing.
My favorite line from the song.
So casually cruel in the name of being honest is my favorite line. So many to choose from though.
Yeah he was 34ish and she was 18.
Her live performance of this song on SNL is a masterpiece. My 50 yo hubby who is not a Swifty saw it and he said “ok, now I get it”. It’s just…chefs kiss
We can relate 👍🏻
Chiefs kiss
That performance gave me chills. So great
It will be remembered as one of the best live TV performances of all time. Absolute perfection!
The OG version of this storytelling masterpiece is what brought me into the fandom. Two years later, I'm still scratching around in that damn rabbit hole. I'm wondering if I'll ever escape the chokehold she has on me, yet I'm hoping she never lets up.
We don't think she has any plans of letting up any time soon.
Aaah, that's poetic!
Great insight. We'll have to go back and really pay attention to that :)
@@khills Yes i agree!! Also with her lyric "twin fire signs four blue eyes" from State Of Grace furthermore solidifies that i believe
You guys are so genuine. I loved seeing you guys show your emotions. Love you both ❤
Thank you. We were taken aback. We had no idea this was an emotional song/film. Damn you Taylor Swift! :)
@@HPReact oh boy yall are gonna be saying “damn you Taylor Swift” a lot on this journey you are on if you say that every time a song is really emotional 😂😂 she is the queen of tapping into people’s emotions!
Exactly. Keep tissues handy!
The Short Film documentary for The Making of this video / Behind the Scenes of this is essential viewing!
I would love to see y’all react to the official music video for “The Man” and also the behind the scenes for it. It’s the first video that she directed. She said it came out of necessity because she wanted a female director but all the ones she wanted to use were unavailable so she decided to try directing it herself.
❤ The Man ❤ Video of the 'Things You Missed' are VERY helpful
I loved how the fights and uncomfortable scenes actually felt uncomfortable. And they didn’t flow like a scripted/directed fight or negative scene. I think that’s why it hits so hard. Feels too real.
I also appreciate people who listen to the lyrics. I’ve noticed a lot of the older generation don’t so it’s pleasantly surprising when one does. My Mom explained this by saying that music didn’t used to be “deep” or it normally wasn’t. And Taylor is really known for being that so if you’re not paying attention to her use of words, you miss a lot.
Hi, Sam here,
I think your mom is right regarding Pop especially.
Also Genesis up until 1980, after that they went totally pop.
Artists with deep lyrics:
Rush
Crosby, Stills, and Nash, the Beatles and so on and so forth.
You might know Sadie, the actress, from Stranger Things!
Yes! :)
@@HPReact Shawn Levy is the primary producer of Stranger Things, …and plays Her dad in this short film. 😉
It was pretty amazing
I haven't watched it yet. I'm just sorry that you're watching the film before you watched the lyric video. There are things you might miss. I just want to say that yes, Taylor did direct this film. She directs the majority of her videos too. That's why she won the mtv award for the Anti-hero video. 😀
Ps, love you guys. ❤
We'll get to it for sure. We usually end up learning as we go. lol. Thank you for the info :)
This is my favourite and FYI I am 64 yrs old and I am proud to say a new Swiftie. The more I listen to her music the more I love it, the swifties really do get her and because of them I am proud to say I am one too. I can’t wait to get through more of her music.♥️🌹
A generational talent.
Absolutely!
The actors that played Taylor (Sadie Sink) and Jake (Dylan O’Brien) are the actual ages in the short film that Taylor and Jake were when they dated.
@@Swiftiemom75 And they nailed it!
Love you guys! Watched all your TS reactions. Love how you recognized her superb talent from 5he very first thing you watched. I knew you would like All Too Well, but didn’t expect you to praise the film so much. My fav interaction:
Scott: When’s the last time you kissed someone like that?
Sam: This morning.

Yeah we haven't even touched the Era's Tour stuff. That's the tour she's doing now right?

Thank you guys so much! This was about her and she is amazing!
Would love to see the behind the scenes footage of this. We would absolutely love them.

Welcome to the Taylor Swift rabbit hole. You are in for a journey. She is quite possibly the greatest lyricist working today....
great reaction! this was about jake gyllenhaal who dated 20 year old taylor and he was 30
The red lipstick she put it to look older since she was a kid he was a 32 year old . A lot of details in there !! . This video is a masterpiece !
We agree! Thank you for your support!
There’s a video of her directing this! 🎥 it’s very impressive!
About the dialog in the middle, first they played it fecking awesome. Second, I would say if catching up with friends doesn't include her, there is already something wrong with the relationship.
100%. Both actors were amazing, and it felt improvised and spontaneous. Brilliant acting, AND directing!
I highly recommend you listen to the lyric video version of this. It shows her singing, and has the lyrics too. This song is a masterpiece.
Love you guys. I just wanted to say you should check out The Manuscript off of her newest album TTPD. I feel it sort of book ends this story.
We will! We're learning so much from you guys. Thank you for helping us put this all into context. :)
Taylor sang this long version live on SNL with the short film on a screen behind her. Beautiful and mesmerizing 😊

You guys are doing great! This is arguably her best song. There is a lyric video with her in it that will allow you to take in the lyrics better. It’s a lot to watch the video on a first listen! Y’all did great!
We appreciate you 🙏. It kind of blind-sided us. We had no idea we would be going on an emotional rollercoaster.
It's so great seeing men relate to her songs. ❤
This is one of our favs!!!
Loved your reaction. I have yet to make it through this song without crying.
She will never be pigeon-holed that's for sure. So talented.
The lyric video probably should have been viewed before this. It’s such a beautifully written song.
It's very beautiful

The honesty of emotion in your reaction was refreshing to see
Taylor was 20 when this happened to her.

That IS criminal. Wonder why?
100%. I had never heard this song and many others until I saw the Eras Tour movie. Then I was blown away.

The Folklore and Evermore albums were some of my favorite of hers. I love a wide range of her music but in terms of storytelling and the emotional bond I feel with her music, those were some of my top ones and came out at a time when we all needed to feel that. Cardigan and Willow are part of the same storyline, so I’d suggest watching those two videos together. ❤️
Thank you thank you thank you. We ♥ you!
I was wondering if you guys would be silent for the entire short film. 😂 So glad you weren't, because you could have forgotten some things to comment on.
I liked that you included some production-specific comments too. 👍
When Taylor Swift originally presented the "All Too Well" concept, it was 10 minutes long. Fortunately, someone recorded that original presentation and it was safely tucked away. For the album, it was trimmed down to normal song length and I always thought the final version was great. But, it turns out that the trimmed lyrics were the most powerful ones! 🤯 I think this is a songwriting masterpiece. 😍
I hope someday you react to Taylor Swift's official "All Too Well" lyric video so that you can focus on its lyrics -- I prefer it over this short film.
SUBSCRIBED. expecting more of her
You guys are so enjoyable to hang out with on this journey.
1989: Blank Space
Reputation: Ready For It
Folklore: This Is Me Trying
Red: All Too well
...each has a different vibe and style/genre, etc. Her Eras Tour is divided in segments honoring each with it's own style making it feel like mini concerts all in 1. It's nostalgic for swifties who have been there all along, as well as a gift for new ones who weren't there on the first round. I'd love to see your mind get blown away with the greatness of it. ✌🏼😊
Thank you for all the info/suggestions. We feel like this is such an eye-opening experience, so we're excited to go down all these different avenues

Awesome reaction, guys! Loving this Taylor Swift journey that you're on. It truly is a rabbit hole. 😂
I didn't see anyone give full context to the 10-minute version of ATW in the comments yet, so I'm sorry if I missed a comment, and this is redundant information.
Any insight is helpful for sure@@khills Thank you! 🙏

But going from here, the long pond studio session of Exile would probably make sense.
And afterwards or before have Don't Blame Me (which you had in the recent poll already), which is a completely different vibe again. 😉

It's amazing!!
(sorry my english, i'm brazilian)
Great reaction.
It is about Taylor and Jake Gyllenhaal. True story
Being producers, you would probably enjoy, Taylor Swift - All Too Well: The Short Film (Behind The Scenes). It's fun to watch her directing the film.
I think "The Man" was the first time she directed and it is great. And she has some videos on the making of these. :)
this one is about Jake Gyllenhaal, who was older than her as other coments said. But about the actors, they had at the time of filming the same age as Taylor and Jake at the time they dated
Just adding: i believe Taylor gave them a general about the kichen scene and they improved it while filming
It was perfect.
Scott is feeling this song
Totally. It hit me in the feels.
@@HPReactlol you are not alone. No matter how much time passes, it brings you right back. Great job. Much success to you both.
Love the Taylor Swift journey ❤😊
