TS has written over 250 songs and has released over 220 of them. She has 10 studio albums in three different genres: country, pop, and indie folk. Her 11th album is coming out on April 19, She also has her four re recorded albums she did to regain ownership of her masters. She has two left to re record: Reputation and Debut.
@@Noitsbeckyy13 I forgot about that "Sounds of the Season" one. Plus, she did an EP, "Beautiful Eyes", which I think has the best cover (photo/image) of all of them. Unfortunately, this "Beautiful Eyes" CD goes for about US$150! (Warning: There's a recent vinyl bootleg of "Beautiful Eyes", but it was probably ripped from an official CD without doing vinyl remastering, so it probably sounds off.)
Honestly, the entire Lover album is dang good. A few of the songs are super pop (which I love) but the rest are deep deep cuts of soul and jazz. I freaking love it
This guy on my right has the most genuine look of pure love and joy on his face. There’s no mistaking that he’s a SwifTie. I never saw that look on any other man except for seconds after his first baby was born 😂
"Dear John" live from the Speak Now tour is a good example of her concerts from her younger years. Would definitely recommend checking out since you're interested in how much she's grown as a performer
If you guys want to hear something country, I absolutely love the song and music video for "I Bet You Think About Me". This song was written for but didn't make the original Red album, it was added to the recent re-recording as a bonus track. She was transitioning to pop on this album but this song still has a strong country twang that's fun. It's said this one is also about Jake. I think the music video is hilarious and fantastic.
I must confess to not having heard most of Taylors music. So it's fun to experience the music along with you! Congratulations on your TH-cam plaque! Very professional looking.
Scott and Sam, I so enjoy watching your facial reactions as well as commentary to Taylors videos. I keep suggesting My Tears Ricochet but truly, her old songs are classics so you can't go wrong with whatever you choose to react to next. Thanks for the smiles today.
@@HPReact If you react to My Tears Ricochet, the long pond studio session is my favorite. Please go into it knowing the lyrics were written in regards to how deceived she felt after Scooter sold her masters, not long after aquiring them. The song is deep, personal and as always, has great lyrics.
My Tears Ricochet is amazing. To expand on the background not only did she nit get a chance to get her masters her longtime friend and mentor that owned the label sold them to someone that actively tired to destroy her career earlier on. Ties into the Kanye drama because he was Kanye manager the whole time Kanye was messing with her.
Love this reaction! Someone else suggested Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve. If you do that, I suggest making a double feature with Dear John first. You’ll get an older Taylor song (she still consider country at this time) and a newer Taylor song about the same relationship. The second song was written when she was the age he was when he dated her while she was 19. They’re both excellent. You could even watch the Dear John performance during the Speak Now tour.
I always think that watching “Dear John” Live from the Speak Now tour is amazing. She looks so young and you can see the pain of the song was fresh. Then listen to “Would’ve Should’ve Could’ve” which is about the same relationship with John Mayer, but from her adult 30-something perspective. It really gives you a sense of her growth as an artist and a human.
Taylor has 10 studio albums and 4 re record albums. Her brand new album TS11 (called The Tortured Poets Department) will release in April 19. I think may be if you react that brand new album like entire album in release day, you will get a lot of subscriber from Swifties.
Check out the songs from her beginning in country. 'Tim McGraw', 'Love Story',, 'You belong with me' or 'Teardrops on my guitar to name a few. She was a baby! To see her evolution is astounding.
I saw this live at the Reputation tour and was in the pit right in the front. I'll never forget the part when she was writhing on the floor in front of the camera. Incredible concert... second only to the Eras Tour. I cant wait to see more videos! ❤
omg yess! i recommend to you guys to react to the music video of cardigan! i’m sure you will like it. that song is part of a love triangle that she invented for the album of that song, and there are two other songs that talk about the same love triangle: august and betty. all 3 songs talking from a different perspective and person!
You guys hit for me. I always presumed Taylor to be a bit country an bit pop for the younger crowd. Nicklodian. Nothing wrong with that. It just was not for me. I did not hate her like so many, I just did not pay attention. With the Reaction videos I came to see some of her later work and am so impressed. She grew into a true artist. A singer songwriter and entertainer. I am surprised she does not get so much more respect like she deserves. I hope the reaction videos will educate people as they did for me
Congratulations guys on hitting 1,000 and receiving the you tube/Leo award.😉 I was waiting to get your reactions to this performance. It's always interesting to get reactions of this performance from those that have never watched her videos or listened to her music. They're surprised with the range of her voice and how clean it sounds and Taylor takes us to church. ❤ Hopefully you'll get to "King Of My Heart" live on the Reputation Tour. The stage, dancers costumes, the huge drums alone is absolutely amazing to see.❤ Stay safe
Thanks for your reactions! I'm new to the channel and really enjoying the journey! And don't ever shave again - your beard was epic and a bearded duo is always great!
I actually think I prefer the performance of this on the Eras tour, tbh. The light work and stage craft definitely took inspiration from the reactions to this performance, tho!
Congrats on 1000! I’m new here as a Swiftie and I’m excited to see more reactions! She is very intentional and has said she wanted this to feel like a gospel/church song. I’ll let everyone else recommend because I lucked out with this being my fave performance. 😆
Y’all just went to church! Love it! Great reaction! I think you guys would love I Bet You Think of Me featuring Chris Stapleton. It’s off her Red album. Video is fantastic. It’s directed by Blake Lively.
Oh if you want to see old Taylor, I would recommend watching an old MV like You belong with me or Love story and after it (in the same video) react to the live version of the respective song at the Eras Tour! I guarantee you will love it! One of the cool things about the Eras Tour is that she really honours her old music, she’s not embarrassed about the fairytale stuff she wrote when she was a teenager, she celebrates all facets of herself and it really teaches self love and appreciation ❤
Take us to church, Taylor! Literally what we yell at live performances for this song! Sooo glad you are doing this journey, love everything about your reactions (including Leo😂). If you want to do country, try some songs from Speak Now Tour! "Haunted" is badaass/ amazing, and "Dear John" is ICONIC (esp if you want to see her crowd interaction😂). You may also want to start doing reactions to the Eras Tour movie...it would be a great overview of her different sounds/styles. You could react to one era at a time (i.e. it begins with songs from Lover, then goes to Fearless, etc.). Another idea to help you get through more content would be to do a deeper focus on one song at a time, but do more than one take of it (i.e. the mv and then a live performance or behind-the-scenes). We can give you examples that would go well together if you are interested! Tyty again for the reactions❤
She does move around genres a lot, its very evident if you go through her albums. her performance of my tears ricochet (long pond session) will introduce you to her lower range which is incredible imo. you can listen to her interview before that so it'll give you some insight into her thought process while she writes :) great reaction guys!
I am so happy that you guys are doing this! If you have a PO Box, I’d love to send some friendship bracelets to officially anoint you guys as swifties! Can’t wait for more Taylor reactions and really can’t wait for you to react to eras tour movie!! 🫶🏻
You guys crack me up. Thank you so much for doing this one - it's truly one of her best live performances. The thing about Taylor is that she's always pushing herself to grow as an artist. She's constantly changing up her style & genre, so there's almost always something in her discography for everyone. If you're wanting to see some of her older stuff, I'd recommend Haunted or Dear John from the Speak Now Tour. OR - and this is my preference - I have to recommend the Long Pond Studio Sessions (My Tears Ricochet, Peace, The Lakes are standouts for me). Loving this journey for you and I'm happy to be on it with you!
She has written songs for films too but two truly amazing ones are Safe & Sound (there is a video and it is a fan favorite) and Carolina for Where the Crawdads Sing and it was nominated for Golden Globe, Grammy and more. Carolina actually only used instruments made before 1953. She worked with Aaron Dessner again (folklore & evermore co-writer & co-producer). It has been classified as Americana, Appalachian folk song. It’s another song that shows her range. If you want to continue a variety of songs, I recommend those two. She put Safe & Sound on her RED album re-record as a Vault song but neither song was/is on her studio albums.
Here is a song from her 3rd album Speak Now, the song is called Haunted th-cam.com/video/Vm_M4ddzDUI/w-d-xo.html It is my favorite live performance from this album. Even then she showed what she was made of, the whole set is alive and full of action.
Okay Scott and Sam, I am all in with you on this channel. I absolutely adore you both and can’t get enough of you two…. It’s like Siskel and Ebert and a little Statler and Waldorf. I've been here only for TS. Cant wait to experience your journey with you both. You wont be disappointed. Exile and My Tear Ricochet Long Pond sessions are a must. The whole Long Pond is fantastic.
Great review! I'm a new Taylor Swift fan! Heard of her when she was on American Idol, but never followed her, but wow has she come a long way, she is so very talented and versatile! I think she should write a musical! I'm really loving these reviews, your channel is wonderful! New subscriber here. Thank you so much for doing these. Take care have a wonderful day!
she has over 200 songs in her discography, 10 albums (4 re recorded, 1 new one coming out in april) and she’s done many genre shifts throughout her career. from country to pop to gospel etc. she has something for everyone
Yes! It is a whole different experience to see the progression of this amazing artist from her mid-teens Country artist, with her debut album, then the Fearless, Speak Now, and Red eras, to the full-on pop 1989 era, through Reputation, and into the Lover, Folklore, Evermore, and Midnights eras. She has literally grown up as a person AND an artist in front of us and in her music. It's amazing and inspiring. Love your reactions!!
Sam is so close. 10 originals, 4 re-records, and a new one in April makes 15. However, there are so many songs, especially on the re-records, there are even more songs! It's not like the old days. Taylor gives people their money's worth. Hey guys, thank you so much for reacting to this one. It's one of my favorites! ❤
If you want to react to her older, country music, I'd recommend "You Belong With Me (Taylor's Version)," "Love Story (Taylor's Version)," and "Our Song." 😁😁😁
She has over 200 original songs, on 10 albums with her 11th album out in May. But she has also re-record exact replicas of all but two albums; her very first which is self titled, Taylor Swift, and reputation. Both of those rereleases are expected sometime this year after she releases TS11: The Tortured Poets Department. Which I expect to be my all time favorite because it’s seems to be so rooted in romance era poetry.
@@HPReact good! You will be of great use to us dissecting the new lyrics once they come out 💪🏼. Her use of literary devices in songwriting is next level. Check out The Great War on Midnigjts 3 am edition. The flowers used are all associated with war, battlefields, remembrance, crimson clover is used in agriculture to leech filth from the depths in land and recycle it into a crop of nutrients. Just like the emotions she’s singing about. But even cooler is that these and poppies both come up over battlefields after many people have died and bleed into the land. According to my research into flower usage in literary device. Poppy flowers are the British remembrance flower they all wear, violets are for grief and remembrance of glory… it’s a deep song that gets overlooked Ps, her bf at the time of writing this song was British. Six years worth of her writing is influenced by British culture and poetry.
For examples of some of Taylor's earlier “country” content, here are a few suggestions: “Mean” performance at the Grammy Awards (not sure of the year, somewhere around 2012, I think), “Dear John” performed live during the “Speak Now” tour, “Long Live” official lyric video, which shows Taylor performing it live, or any live performance of “Fearless.” Also, you could compare the original music video for “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” with Taylor's rock version from the 1989 tour.
If you're going back to her country roots, Love Story is probably her most iconic, but I love Our Song and Mary's Song (Oh, My, my, my) is my absolute favorite. The first two are very cute and catchy, totally that teenage vibe going on, but with good solid modern country. Mary's Song is more of a ballad and tells a longer term story and it is a little more mature.
Congratulations on 1,000 subscribers and the official 😄 plaque! Trust me, they get better looking at higher subscriber tiers, but this first one will always be special. Best of luck!
Oi! That sounds wonderful! We’ll see if we can get it on the very long list! We’re shocked at the amount of comments sending us good vibes. We really appreciate everyone! And it’s a little scary 😱 Thanks, 🙏🏼 S&S🙏🏼
You’re close, Scott. She writes with the performance aspect in mind, but in behind the scenes clips at various points in her career, she explains that all songs get composed for acoustic guitar or piano so that the song will always sound great stripped down. The tour performances are a whole other animal. For me they are like the biggest Broadway extravaganza. She explains that in the Miss America documentary that is still up on Netflix. In that you can see her working through lyrics in real time for her Lover album. I just watched that again last night and pick of on things each time I’ve seen it.
@@HPReact Miss Americana it gives great insight to her as a person and her work ethic. She’s a typical woman of her age group and then she gets on stage and transforms into whatever she needs to be for that song or performance. She’s very aware of her fame and how abnormal it is. And it was filmed nearly 5 years ago when she wasn’t yet 30, so it’s before we had Folklore and Evermore and Midnights, which is when I got into her music. I’m sure you also heard that The Long Pond Sessions are MUST watch. With that you get pandemic era Taylor when she was working on those last 3 albums. They’re camping out at that studio in upstate New York and it’s a much more mature and introspective Taylor and her whole sound shifted. She was also in a longtime relationship with Joe Alwyn. They split a few months before her Eras Tour started.
You commented about her song This Is Me Trying and wanted to know if her relationship to addiction was from someone she knows or if it was abstract. To Taylor, her drug is Love. And if the relationship ends getting over the person is like trying to quit a drug. Another song you will love is Clean, ft Imogene Heap, Taylor again relates getting over a person to being clean from a drug.
Congrats on 1,000...though now you're almost at 3K! Love the channel and excited to see more! This was an amazing live performace, always love seeing people react to it.
It’s hard to know where to tell you to go haha. Rep tour reviews are pretty popular , as are the long pond studio sessions. We are never getting back together from the 1989 tour is a rock version you’d probably like . Any performance from Lover Live in Paris and the Grammy museum performances are great too. So much content out there ! As you post more videos and we see what you’re liking , we can TAILOR the suggestions a bit more !
I think you should try Lover soon. And The Man. And Look What you made me do. And anything from the Era’s tour. Whatever you decide, I’ll be watching. Thanks guys!
If you wanna go back I would strongly suggest watching her live performance of Dear John from the Speak Now tour, 8 years earlier than this, when she was 20.
Thanks for doing these! You guys are so cute ✨ looking forward more TS content for sure I noticed you're interested in going back to some early Country Taylor. I highly recommend the live performance of "Dear John" on her Speak Now Tour. Speak Now is Taylor's 3rd album and her only entirely self-written album. Taylor wrote "Dear John" to reflect on her experience dating John Mayer (she was 19 and he was 32 at the time)
Baby Taylor’s tour performance of should’ve said no ❤. And I think Cold as you is probably the “best” song on Debut. But I have a lot of love for that album.

YAY! I am so excited 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
This damn song gets me every time. I love this performance. One of my favorites because her vocals suprise so many on this one. She kills it!
Totally killed it!
If you want to react to her older, country music, I'd recommend "You Belong With Me (Taylor's Version)," "Love Story (Taylor's Version)," and "Our Song." 😁😁😁
Great suggestions ❤
And white horse , tear drops on my guitar
And Mean!!
I studied romance poetry in music school. A good way to learn to express your emotions with greater impact. Thanks for your guidance. S&S
Poppy flowers are the British remembrance flower they all wear, violets are for grief and remembrance of glory… it’s a deep song that gets overlooked
Ps, her bf at the time of writing this song was British. Six years worth of her writing is influenced by British culture and poetry.
You should check out the behind the scenes videos of her song writing process of some of these songs
So excited to watch this - 👏🏼
Love story and teardrops on my guitar are great songs by TS her older songs ❤❤🙂
For examples of some of Taylor's earlier “country” content, here are a few suggestions: “Mean” performance at the Grammy Awards (not sure of the year, somewhere around 2012, I think), “Dear John” performed live during the “Speak Now” tour, “Long Live” official lyric video, which shows Taylor performing it live, or any live performance of “Fearless.” Also, you could compare the original music video for “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” with Taylor's rock version from the 1989 tour.
1 more month till her new album the tortured Poets Department
She is very very intentional with everything.
Out of the Woods. Visuals are stunning.
I am loving all the Taylor Swift reactions!
So glad I found you both! Have been enjoying watching back your videos and I’m so excited to see more 🥳
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Another great reaction! Love your Taylor Swift journey, as well as your honesty and sense of humor!
We appreciate you 🤗
I love your guys' reaction! ❤

And people claim she can't sing? She has also developed into maybe the best stage performer in the world.
Close... I'll take it :) We do hear a lot about the Miss America documentary. May have to check that out soon! thank you for the info
Thank you :):):)
Hey! Sam here! Lots of great info here. We thank you for your advice and as always, we'll check it out. S&S
This video posted 2 hrs ago and you now have 2.53 k subscribers 🥳🥳🥳
Awesome job ❤😊❤
My fave country ones are Mean, White Horse, and Love Story
Lol congrats on the TH-cam plaque!
😄
I died laughing at the plaque bit 😂
Thank you. We still may hang it up. lol
Thanks for doing these! You guys are so cute ✨ looking forward more TS content for sure
I noticed you're interested in going back to some early Country Taylor. I highly recommend the live performance of "Dear John" on her Speak Now Tour.
Speak Now is Taylor's 3rd album and her only entirely self-written album. Taylor wrote "Dear John" to reflect on her experience dating John Mayer (she was 19 and he was 32 at the time)
she has 10 albums + 4 re-recorded albums out! also congrats on 2.5k subs 🫶
Thank you! And Thank you 😁we couldn’t have done it without you guys. We hope you stick around 🙏🏻
One of my favs 😘
Baby Taylor’s tour performance of should’ve said no ❤. And I think Cold as you is probably the “best” song on Debut. But I have a lot of love for that album.
Love you guys. You both are so sweet 🤩
thank you!!!! pls do the long pond exile 😊
have been enjoying these!
You guys are in for such a journey.
I love you guys! You should do Fearless or Long Live ♥
First! You guys are awesome!!
I’ve said before and I’ll say it again Miss Americana!
We'll get there. We promise :)
