    How do you know which is the off peak switch? Compared the the peak supply switch

    • @EPCWiltshire
      @EPCWiltshire  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If there indicator lights on the switches ( if the light is on in the day ) that's peak. If not turn on the instantanious panel heater on the front and turn the switches on and off to find out which on is peak "if it comes on in the day its peak". How does the insulation on the newer ones work, and what makes it effective?

      It has a greater U value

      @@EPCWiltshire That’s a good thing?
      'Thermal transmittance, also known as U-value, is the rate of transfer of heat through a structure (which can be a single material or a composite), divided by the difference in temperature across that structure. The units of measurement are W/m²K. The better-insulated a structure is, the lower the U-value will be.'

    Isn't the whole concept of storage heaters nonsensical? If something heats up, then it's going to emit heat. Turning the output all the way down makes about a 1% difference. You may as well try to collect and store light.

      Think thermos flask principle the output is like putting the lid on to retain the heat a bit more. These models are 30 years + now and the insulation is not as good and the newer versions

      @@EPCWiltshire The old ones just seem like a blatant conning of the customer. I remember being told: 'they store heat during the night, and put it out during the day'. Nothing could be further from the truth.

      Invented to use up electricity during a lower demand period

      @EPCWiltshire I get that, but the user experience could be do much better.
