After hearing the announcement for RDNA 3, the rx 7900 XTX, and how it supports DP 2.1. I'm probably just going to wait to see what they release down the line for QD-OLED tech with DP 2.1. It's REALLY tempting to get this monitor, but knowing what's possible with the next Displayport standard, I can see how the AW3423DW can fall off quickly in comparison.
Absolutely bro! Can't wait to see what's next in line. Best thing about this screen is the standard that's been set. Bigger and better cant be too far away now :)
@@def6420 DP 1.4 has a little under 26 Gbps of bandwidth, whereas DP 2.1 has around 3x the bandwidth of DP 1.4, which is a little under 80 Gbps. That would affect refresh rate, color depth (how many bits of color, standard displays are 2^8, or 8 bits,) and the resolution. The AW3423DW defaults to 8 bits of color at 175hz, or you can lower the refresh rate to 144hz, and make it 10 bit. I imagine they would stick with 3440x1440, up the color depth to 10 bit, and maybe raise the refresh rate to something like 300hz (or greater.) You could possibly lower the refresh rate to something like 240hz, 12 bit color depth. This kind of performance for a QD-OLED panel would be groundbreaking, and would be a massive performance jump over my 1080p 60hz monitor. TLDR: DP 2.1 is 3x faster than the current standard, and I think if you have the patience it's most likely going to be worth the wait.
I think you should retest some of the HDR games like Sea of Theives as that video was just 50 sec long some Battlefront 2 in Heroes Vs Villans since you like star wars and in that mode you will be able to see those light sabers glow also might wanna try some apex legends on the new map as its very colorful I'm sure it will look great!
Max Anderson th-cam.com/video/UtAivRxLFAg/w-d-xo.html&feature=share&EKLEiJECCKjOmKnC5IiRIQ Hope this helps. I use a G7 myself. It's splendid. But they say the aliienware is overall a better monitor. 👍
Hey gamer! I would have to choose the AW3423DW for a 3090ti. I took a small FPS hit jumping from 2560x1440 to 3440x1440 on my 3090 (absolutely worth it for that OLED upgrade) Can only imagine an even bigger FPS hit at 3840x2160 and to lose FPS for a VA panel doesn't sit well with me since I've seen it all before. OLED PC gaming hit different especially if you've never used one before. Thanks for watching!
Nah I haven't even tried honestly man, switched through a few of the presets then went back to factory settings since it looked best for me. Not really the tweaking type because I'm lazy like that lol. Have briefly read tho that you can get it too look pretty good in creator mode 🤷♂️
Hey fam, Don't even stress. Its such a good monitor! The only issue I've had with this screen is the packaging it came in. They use a foam protection that leaves marks on the screen that you have to wipe off when setting up. Very annoying! After that tho no issues at all. Best monitor I have ever owned in my life. I can't look at IPS/VA the same after using an OLED. I also don't take that stuff lightly when it comes to monitors and would have sent it back for a refund for even less then flickering. One dead pixel? You can bet I'm sending it back LOL! Lastly, I definitely wouldn't be making a youtube channel with close to a 100 uploads to share my experience if it did. Hope this can clear some of your worries my bro. Don't want you sleeping on that enchanced ultrawide oled PC gaming experience!! All the best on your decision anyways and thanks for watching. Here if u need me :)

For PC Gaming only with a 3090ti 12900k would you recommend this or the Samsung Neo G8 an answer would be appreciated thanks.

why does it say 240fps? i thought it only did 175
Yep your right fam, it is a 175hz display. The reason your seeing that fps is that I dont use vysnc/fps cap in game :)
