      I noticed you were using "Armoured Targets" ammo belt for the soviet 20mm, is that what youd recommend for those against planes?
      Seems odd to me, but then again, since they nerfed the ammo belt composition of them Ive found those 20mms to be really unrealiable in dealing damage.

    As a noob, my biggest mistake was generalizing planes too much. It wasn't until I finally played enough to where I was familiar with most planes that I started to get better.
    Not all Fw 190's are the same, nor are all Spitfires. In general, Spitfires turn much better than a 190, and 190's are generally much faster. But at certain BR's this is not always true. Assuming because I was in a Fw 190, I could outrun any Spitfire and assuming because I was a Spitfire, I could out turn a 190 were the cause for many a death before I started memorizing stats of planes in more detail.
    Also, Gaijin stat cards don't mean shit. Just because your plane SHOULD be 20kph faster than the plane chasing you, it doesn't mean that it actually is. Not to mention, if your plane is spaded and the enemy isn't, or vice versa, plane stats don't really mean a thing.

    • @billrobert3226
      @billrobert3226 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      insightful! the other day I saw a Japanese plane high altitude, I didn't recognize the planes name. I thought well I won't try to out turn it, but my plane has excellent engine power, I'll try for an energy trap. the trap lasted a few turns, and he was slowly gaining more energy than me! after dying and googling it, the wiki reads "unlike most Japanese planes, this is not a turn fighter, but must use its excellent thrust to weight ratio for energy fights. what a face palm😂😂

    This is probably the best form of instructional guide I have seen for Air. The graphical simplifications backed by real-world examples really made the points much more clear and evident to me. At least for me, this was better than just the typical "1 vs 12 ACE Carry kIlLeR Plane" videos that are more common for the game. Now if only I can break a lot of my bad habits that you pointed out for me. Much appreciated.

    Oh man, i can't thank you enough. Although I'm at over 1400 hours of War Thunder i still feel like i'm in the learning phase. I think my and actually most peoples problem is that "we" play too kill-thirsty. We'd rather dogfight a plane we can't outurn just because of energy loss than play smart and maybe pass on a kill. Extremely helpful, keep it up!

Very good skills on your part, I couldnt do em myself, but as u said takes a lot of time and effort. you just barely touched on it, but i was hoping you would go into detail on how to use horizontal energy retention. it's HUGE for being able to use US planes effectively, and is probably the number one reason why allied teams suffer so much, as it isn't immediately apparent how to use it to your advantage. for anyone who doesn't know, if you are in a heavy plane with a fast top speed like a p51 or a p47 and have an enemy behind you with the energy advantage, you can dive to equalize your energy states and use your superior high speed handling to avoid their shots, and then when you build up an excess of speed you can level out and begin a shallow climb to use your superior energy retention to bleed the enemy's energy, and you will be able to convert your energy into altitude more efficiently than the enemy if they follow your climb. a smart enemy in a plane that climbs well, like a 109, will probably follow you in a steeper climb to convert their excess speed into altitude more efficiently but will still lose more energy than you do. this makes the enemy an easy target for teammates, and any team of US planes who understands how to do this dominates.

      Was this in arcade? Afaik it's very hard to turn full-commit headons into anything more than a 50-50 game of chance, which isn't favourable for scoring well in RB; much better to place the enemy in a position where they can't shoot back.

      I feel like defyn is unqualified on energy states as he is not a 1v1 master duelist he's a fraud!

      @@arbin8928 Yeah, unless you got that "4 vs 4 duelist" title you are not qualified to make videos smh

    Nice video Defyn, I even think your video more understandable than longshot video, but also sad that almost every A7M pilot almost fight like in 16:42 scene v:

    Holy shit. I'm improving! Thank you so much for this series. I'm so happy right now. I'm getting about a kill and an assist per game, which is a lot better than not knowing what the fuck I'm doing and getting clapped instantly.

    man i like your video ! i started playing 13 day ago .. i was wondering why i was 90% of the time top 3 in AB but sucking hard in SB ! now that i can look around while defending learn about energy fight and everything you and another youtuber show .. you explain it so well and now i understand how the good poeple was insane in defensive ! i also learn to read enemy and even started to play a mind game on the defense showing a false trajectory to change it really fast and the .5s-1s they take to react to it .. its already too late we changed stance :) i really love you're video man ! there is only 1 thing it seem to be different now a day's ! on youre video the assistant telling you to retract youre flap and you seem lucky on it that it dosnt break !most of the time i go 10kph faster then the limit and its already gone after 2s :S is there a way to make it stop happenning ? like could i raise the flap and drop it 1s later to maybe reset the breaking chances ?
