WARNING BEFORE USING THE DEFYN PROMO CODE:
If you plaster the SKILL ISSUE decals on your planes using all 4 slots u get with premium account/ the distinction thingy, the decal's immense power will react to the enemy's skill issue and make them disintegrate in front of you without you doing anything.
While it was fun the first few times, this hurt my SL and RP gain so much that i had to take it off after my 12th match with it where it happened to two different guys back-to-back.
Tested on the SU25 with 4 plastered over the wings.

One thing I noticed about the F4U-1C when I was flying it in GRB was that its energy just. vanishes. when you start looping continually without much time between loops - especially when you start dipping down in the vicinity of 500m alt, aroundabout where the first and second stage superchargers switch. Definitely an altitude to avoid fighting at for too long.
And this is why I pick the F4U-4 over the -1C for GRB. Because flight performance does still matter.
Lol, that basically happens with all (heavy) US fighters. They are not made for turning.

@@BeerSougion no. Mustang is very lightweight and loses all energy in half a turn while f4u 4b can rate fight some stuff and abuse it's energy retention to do aggressive BnZ passes. P47 can out dogfight 109s at high altitude (where both have good performance) and the f7f feels very snappy but can't do anything, same for the Bearcats.
@@kingghidorah8106 Mustangs have heavy super or turbocharger and heavy guns. The best performing one is the one with 4 guns, the P51-C

I would say that this is probably one of the most helpful videos you've made yet. There were a ton of great examples on how to fly defensively, particularly against planes that compress at a lower speed than you do. I just wanted to say keep up the great content, and I'll keep enjoying them!
This is scary good. Meanwhile I'm sitting 200 meters behind a plane for 2 minutes watching my bullets disappear into the back of plane without a Hit notification. Then my plane drops out of the sky & reappears in an inverted stall 2 meters from the ground. Somebody 6km away gets credited for the kill.

This was a really great tutorial. One thing that goes unsaid, at least for me. Until I could fly almost instinctively, all the tactical advice in the world didn’t really help. I needed to get to the stage where I wasn’t thinking about my radiators, my best speed and all the other little admin-y things I now just ‘do’. I’ll never be a great pilot, I’m too old and my eyesight is too poor but I do regularly have fun and more than balance my deaths with 2 or more kills on average. That’s another point - on average, you should have a 1:1 KD. But thanks to noobs, bomber flyers and non serious players, if you take it seriously you can do better.

Might I suggest F4F-4? It would be somewhat topical, with its engine power (or lack thereof). Or F4F-3, but I won't ask you to inflict 2.3 BR teams on yourself.
Now that I think about it, it might actually be a pretty good plane to practice this sort of play style, since the enemies are a bit more "forgiving".

The F4U-C is one of those planes that have shit performance but for some reason or another just work and can get the job done. It's either the engine, cannons or wing design that carries it from being a trash plane to a decent one.
The Fact that you went with the Corsair instead of the Hunter makes me want to Smash my Skull into the wall… I‘ve been asking waaay longer than him 😂

@@2552legoboy ah came back here and it's a pain to play, they nerfed all high explosive cannons accross the board, j5n's strongest point was it's energy retention and the guns, but they draggy af and barely crit targets. You're going to find yourself in more pickles than you wanted.

the thing about usa birds is the climb by the time you get to altitude either your team is dead and you're the last one or the other team has one left af camping that's the way it goes..
If you've seen the video you'd know that Defyn doesn't climb long enough for that to happen.
In most clips he seems too have engaged his first oponent between 3 and 4 kilometers. An F4U-1 reaches those altitudes in about 4 minutes, normally long before your team has disappeared.
most us fighters are quick enough and good enough in maneuvers, it's not like being in a Tempest and finding a 109 1km above you diving towards your plane.
@@kingghidorah8106 i know i only play usa when im in a squad even then still have people above you just got to remember don't turn fight and keep your speed and bmz even more against japan when i fly zeros i always find dumb ass usa players to turn fight me it's crazy.

F4U-4
I love the 1C. Despite its "slower" speed, it can still outrun almost anything. Yes it climbs slow, but that's it's only real disadvantage. You can just take head on after head on because it's essentially a more maneuverable P-47 as it packs a huge punch. In comparison to the F4U-4B, it compresses even less (probably cuz it just doesn't go as quick 💀), so booming and zooming gets that much more effective. But yeah I generally start side climbing, go make food or something and come back 10 minutes later and check if my team is dead yet or not. If they're alive I keep playing and pop off. If it's like a 10v1 I run back with my tail between my legs and live another day. Yes I'm a noob and a rat but I LOVE IT. Finally, the repair cost-reward multipler on this plane is fairly good. You break even with just one kill and one death

I may have missed it but did they nerf Corsairs? I used to get an easy 6-700kmh in a dive, used to be able to open flaps at higher speeds etc. Something changed in the last couple months since I took my USMC Corsair out last.

Thanks man. Great advice, I will keep that in mind. I think I was playing too passive because I thought I needed to set up energy traps more carefully, but yeah that has hurt me in the long run. The American 20 mils I thought I always had to go for though, seem to be more like shotguns, but maybe that has to do with you eliting your crews first and already having 5/5 Weapon Maintenance? I have tons of tier 4 stuff to spade, it is so expensive as well.
Will be looking forward to the Jets one too, I have most jets through about 8.0 for US and Ger and stock seems especially hard, and before I know it I need to go credit grind and don't tough the plane for a year. lol

How accurate a gun is is entirely dependent on the gun. AN/Ms are shotguns before you get them upgraded.
@@rainsilent Ah ok,just checked, that only affects spread of bombs and rockets, and overheating of guns, not spread.
I thought so, it has been a while but everything from my f8f1-b to my Ad-2, to my F7F-1 have been hard to grind considering the spread you get. I just don't understand why Defyn says that they are fine stock and you didn't need to hurry up and get the new guns, considering hitting the target get the xp
@@chris_hisss Because they spray a fair bit even when upgraded. Granted it is worse when stock but when stock the spread is so bad that it truly doesn't matter how good, or bad, your aim is. There is no greater a meme gun in regards to accuracy than stock AN/Ms. Perfect aim? Doesn't matter. Your shots can miss. Bad aim? Doesn't matter. Your shots can hit. I've downed aircraft I wasn't even aiming at before with stock AN/Ms. Both friendlies and enemies and both while hitting and missing the target I was aiming at.

The F4U-1C was one of my most horrendous stock grinds. That thing just doesn't climb lol.
Just low altitudes is were it struggles in climbs. Irl the Corsair could out climb zeros in higher altitudes. The actual flight models of planes is wack. The zero at 216mph is was a brick compared to the Corsair. The Corsair isn’t as maneuverable as it is in real life

@@rainsilent It is not because almost all players turnfight in them. For that strategy the BR is fair, o ly when you use them for BnZ they are undertiered.
@@BeerSougion When you consider performance they are under BRed. That is a fact that can't be argued against logically. Just because bad players don't do well in them because they try to turn fight with them when they shouldn't doesn't mean that they should stay at a lower BR.
@@rainsilent It does, because Gaijin sees that actual performance is not that great. That is why meta vehicles have a BR close to their best performance and non-meta's like US high altitude boom n zoomers do not have a BR close to their best possible performance.
@@BeerSougion No, it doesn't because it leads to under BRed aircraft that become practically untouchable to aircraft that should be at that BR and absolutely club when flown properly. That is very bad for balance and game play overall.

The F4U-1C is the best evidence of how much .50 cals underperform.
F4U-1C and F4U-1D are the exact same plane, the only difference is that the F4U-1C has 20mms while the F4U-1D has .50 cals.
F4U-1C: 4.7
F4U-1D: 3.3
They definitely do not underperform, the F4U-1C is just overtiered, now shut.

50 cals honestly suck in these situations
if you replaced this video with 50 cals many of the shots he takes would not have killed them instantly which would force him into a prolonged dog fight which as defyn explained is bad for a stock plane
if you cant end the fight quickly then you die in this video he said that many times, 50 cals not killing are the same as having bad aim, you can get the first 5 shots in a worse plane but if they do not die or are heavily crit then you will die thats why i hate 50 cals
@@skull1161 yes, point is the F4U-1C has shit performance for it's BR, but the 1As, 1D and -4s have some kickass performance for their BRs. .50s are good you just need to learn them. So you get to pick, shit performance good guns, or good performance, decent guns. .50s are really good if you can aim them. Period.
@@v3es473 50 cals are not good, the fact that you need 3 straight seconds of hits on them to do some real damage is stupid. I have mastered them I have hundreds of battles with 50 cal US planes. I still say they suck. High deflection shots are basically impossible with 50 cals unless you get the pilot. I would rather have hispanos, shvaks, mg151, really almost any 20mm over them since i wont have to spend so many turns on a plane when i got 2 crits on them in the first 2 turns.
now if your on someones 6 and they are .8 km away, yes they aren't that bad, but the instant killing potential of 20mm is just a lot better imo

Back in the day this was my go to US plane. I racked up 100 kills faster than any other, but I can't imaging doing consistently good with the current matchmaker. Might as well just play the F4U4
Totally agree with playing aggressive when stock until you spade the plane. I like to take off and stay low and make a bee line to the enemy spawn then use that speed to head on 1 or 2 enemys and then die and repeat. They tend to all dive on me anyway and I'll get atleast 1 kill and the enemy team all go lemming trying to dive on you
I play Corsairs regularly and love them. But for stock planes I actually tend to side climb and get a much more serious altitude advantage that way you have that speed and height to leverage and make up for the lack of mods and guns. Being able to dive and choose your targets is huge for stock planes.

How does a radiator work on an air cooled engine? The only thing close to a radiator on an F4u are the intercooler and oil coolers.
It opens up the flaps around the engine to let the hot air out and provide more airflow

Man they have made the F4U-1c bad, that was one of the best climbing and fastest aircraft of WWII and out-performed zeros that weighted a lot less than it did, and to see it struggle this much makes me sad
the 1c is not. The f4u-4 and 5 variants were the best piston fighters of all time, so good that they scored MiG15 kills by using the power and speed that the planes provided. Late spitfires were turned into interceptors, heavy, quick and resilient to damage, but not agile at all.

Gist: Use your airspawn to climb a bit, but stay quick. Your M3 .50 cals will do most of the work, and make sure to prioritise Su-11's.
