Great video! I have a question for you Isaac, is it possible to have pegs on a bike AND a chain tensioner? Is the axel bolt long enough to accommodate both?
@@MonsterDog5150 I’m using Speedline killer buzz hubs and profile elite in the front. They have the bolts that screw into the hub. You can get them in longer lengths to make them work. If your hub has a threaded axle, I’ve not seen one long enough to have both pegs and tensioners. You move the weight further from the center and they bend quickly though. Short answer - it’s possible, but I wouldn’t suggest it.
Hi thanks for the great video. Wondering what's the reason for nuts tightness. Would it not be too loose so it comes off eventually? Thanks in advance!
This may be a silly question but i've just ordered a Big Woody and i'm wondering if your pegs will still fit on if you install these chain spacers or does it have to be one or the other? 🤔😎
I’ve seen it, but it’s rare. Make sure the tensioner is lined up inside the dropout and centered. I’ve had a few not seat right when they’re new. I’d also check that you haven’t twisted your frame if everything else is right.
As long as your axle is long enough. You’ll want to make sure you can see the axle though the bolt inside the peg. It works on my PKRipper 27.5 but not my Big Flyer for example.
It always comes down to how long your axels are. The tensioners take up threads... then pegs take threads... so you want to make sure with both installed, you have enough thread that the axel nut completely covers the axels. I know SE doesn’t suggest it and it might void warranty. Unless you bike came with both, I wouldn’t do it. If you have to choose, go with pegs if you’re doing wheelies and footwork.
