ATTENTION: In the video I referred to the suspension part with the faulty bushing as the "Trailing Arm", that was incorrect. I was replacing the KNUCKLE BUSHING. Thanks for watching!

Where did you purchase those Grade 8 bolts, nuts and washers?
I was searching for something like this last week, had to press in a wheel hub sleeve

Yeah, I was wondering.... that was some odd Vertical "trailing" arm.....but great content and explanation.

There are trailing arms all over the place on rear suspensions. Don't worry, we know what you mean. Good trick. Difficulty is finding fresh bushes that last 3 minutes.

Thank you so much. I am stuck in a downward spiral toward a complete dead end, but this bushing compression tool may save the diy project. I was "simply" intending to change the rear wheel bearing in my GMC Terrain, until I snapped off two of the four bolts holding the WB to the knuckle. That led to a decision to remove the knuckle, and thus the need to remove two control arm bushings. You have given the weekend, wannabe thorough mechanic hope!

I keep a couple different sizes of hardened threaded rod to make my own bushing presses. and when you are putting everything back together make sure that the vehicle is at "ride height" when tightening any bushing thru-bolt (unless specified in the factory service manual) in order to avoid shortening the life of the bushing.

Hello , I,ve been doing this for years on old land - rovers , you are doing very well with this , but can I make a few points please : you have a relatively new vehicle here , on an old vehicle , these bell out hard right into the housing ( hole ) , & I have ripped the thread off of a 9/16 UNF hardened steel bolt trying to get them out this way , cranking with 2 sockets & ratchets , the bigger the bush is , the tighter they are in , a moderate smear of copper grease on both , the inside of the hole , & the outside of the bush , helps a lot to locate these bushes , & helps to prevent corrosion jamming them in hard for the next time you have to change it . It,s not a bad idea to copper - grease the through - bolt as well . Also , ensure you have all burrs carefully removed out of " the hole " without enlarging it before squeezing the new one in . This might sound like nit - picking but it all helps snatch success out of the jaws of failure . Good job from an old - timer ! ( use copper grease , not mineral grease as that will destroy your new rubber component )

Judging by the date I think we were thinking alike , made a similar system but the Bushings were very seized and will not budge, the problem progressed to bent bolts inside the bushings, worse is the trailing arm which is bigger, my Arthritis prevented me from continuing and I am now doing a major overhaul , Timming Belt, Spark Plugs and all Bushings, and thee ignition lock .... BTW is that car a KIA Amanti, its an exact copy of mine 2004, Cheers and good luck in all your endeavors

@@electronicsNmore I know :) I've mostly been following your electronics stuff ( Your Reviews, gadgets, hacks, mods etc etc) from my other account since your induction heater video! Seen most videos multiple times and I usually don't buy anything or start a project till I've checked your opinion of it or a similar video to what I'm planning and/or getting.
