- I will show you how to remove a 99-03 RX300 Radio Climate Control Screen. I am not responsible if you break something while removing any parts. This is simply a video showing how I did it.

Hey thank you I really appreciate that video I smashed my 03s radio so I eventually got a 99 full rx300 for parts, so that saved me from getting upset trying to break the clips.

Hi. Thanks for the video. I have an older model RX300 1999-2003. Runs great!! I wanted to change only the shift gear knob. The leather is worn and got a knob with leather and wood grain from an '03 RX300. How do I change only the top part without damaging any wires? I noticed two small wires coming out of the bottom of the knob I purchased. I'm not afraid of attaching the wires with black tape. I just don't know how to remove my original without causing damage. Thanks.

THank you so much for this video. my question is, I have an 02 with navigation and a 00 without. the 02 does not run. would they be interchangeable? like plugs and all?
Happy to help! I honestly cannot say for sure I would check with Lexus parts department and see if they are interchangeable.
I have a 2002 Lexus RX300 like yours and the Center Cluster intergration panel went bad. I have Navigation as well. The part # 8001048040E0 with GPS Navigation. Basically you have to replace the entire front part because it controls the radio, navigation, A/C and heater/ Climate control. FYI different colors of your dash can cost more too. Also the price is more with Navigation. Anyway. Your video is very useful for anybody having the same issue as my car or for many other issues. If your radio, A/C, heater or GPS Navigation either stops working or gets stuck turned on or off. Most likely it's your Center Cluster Intergration panel- which basically is the circuit board behind this part you took off. The Diagnostic code is B1277. I hope if anybody else has this issue my info helps you. It is rare they go out, but they can. Also call around if you can not do it yourself. Because I researched how much the Center Cluster Intergration Panel cost and there were major price differences. The best price I found for a brand new one is $1470.00. And it's under warranty for 1 year. But if you buy a after market or used on eBay they run about $125.00 with GPS Navigation. The entire job should not take more than 1-1/2 to 2 hours. If your mechanic knows what they are doing. Thanks again for your video. I like to see how things are done.

@@TheInteriorAutoMechanic I am not too sure if this will get to you but I noticed your email address about a problem that someone was having with A/C unit in a forum but the up and a down button that increases and decreases the amount of airflow move freely and control nothing.
I am looking at purchasing a 2004 RX 330 and went to check it out today; the A/C was on but when I tried to adjust both sides, the buttons moved freely and did nothing. It is set at 75, but I would like to adjust the amount of airflow. The buttons did not seem in contact with the system. I asked the owner how I would put the heat on and he said just turn off A/C which made no sense; I live in Florida, and two months out of the year it gets chilly and would like heat.
Another issue was the Navigation system would not come on and we couldn't get it to even see a map. He said I just need to buy a disc to have it upgraded, but I would think you would at least be able to switch to any map. The date and time button looked like it needed to be set or I hit a button by accident
The reverse screen is dark and faded, making it hard to read words or see while going backwards. To make it worse, the driver side mirror was all clouded in a brown film, making it unusable to see clearly.
I also noticed when searching for a local radio station it would not come in very clear, maybe for 30 seconds, and then sounded out of range.
Its a 2004 RX with 114k miles and I have the Carfax which looks good. He wants 6400 for the car and it is in good shape, but I thought the rearview camera and navigation was working. It also does not have a Bluetooth interface which I thought was standard.
Do you think the complete unit needs to be replaced, what's the average cost and your opinion?
I really appreciate any direction or feedback, plus I am looking through the carfax and don't see the timing belt or water pump being replaced unless it's under a service that is standard that I couldn't find. 114k I heard it's important, expensive, and necessary.

I forgot I went to lower the passenger side window from the driver's seat and it didn't move, I tried lowering it from the passenger side and it made a buzzing noise.

Hi @@stevenm2526, Hopefully I can help you a little bit. To me everything that you were describing sounds like it probably needs a complete radio unit/gps/climate control. These can be had relatively cheap however you can start to kind of open a can of worms if that doesn't fix your issue it could be other underlying issues as well. It's hard to say without looking at it as to what the issue(s) could be. That's my best guess from your description. As far as the window goes. If it rolls down on the passenger side via the passenger side window switch but does not roll down via the driver's side master switch then chances are that means the driver side window switch is bad. Those can get pretty pricey because they are known to have issues. If it were me I would maybe look for another one even with a little bit higher miles on it if it has been serviced especially Lexus serviced its whole life it should make you a really good vehicle. I have a 2000 rx300, just got it in June. Is it possible to separate the radio and cassette controls from the climate controls? I was looking at a flip out aftermarket display and thought it would be better up there than below the current cluster. Thoughts?
After looking on eBay at the radio kits that are available for aftermarket radios it looks like you can separate the climate control screen from the radio/cassette deck. I know on a lot of other cars that have the climate control integrated with the radio you cannot do this however on this vehicle it looks like you can put an aftermarket radio in and keep your stock climate control. However please do your homework and research before doing anything. Thanks!

I am not sure if this is a relevant topic, but I think my air vents started to malfunction. Everything was working prior to yesterday, and now only the side vents work and the two inner ones do not. The side vents barely blow hot or cold air. Do you know what problem might be occurring?
Sounds like the blower motor could be going bad if you do not feel air coming out of your vents. Could also be the blend door.
@@TheInteriorAutoMechanic what is a blower motor? Is it that little black box looking thing? What is the blend door?
Alexander Kalendarev the blower motor is what causes the air to come out at different speeds its typically on the passengers side under the dash. The blend door controls yours temp and directions of where the air is blowing, example being defrost, feet and face, face, etc.
My issue is that i want to install android or an iPad infront of this screen for music and navigation plus other stuff in which the ipad can be flipped in order to see the climate control screen, how can this be done if u have an idea ?!
hamzeh alkhufash Hi there, I'm sure there is a way to utilize the brackets from the screen to mount a tablet. However, you will be losing all function of your heater controls and possibly the radio as it runs through the screen. I would recommend 1 of 2 things. Either look for an aftermarket kit that allows you to install an aftermarket radio into your RX300 and modify it. Or mount the tablet in the glove box and wire it into the tablet. Either way you have some work ahead of you but if you are good with wiring and have the pinouts for the Lexus it should be easy. Good luck!
Interior Auto Mechanic thank u sir , the thing is am not good with wiring but i was thinking to keep the climate control screen and ahead of it under the same bracket i wanted to mount an 6" screen ipad that can open as a door in order to see the climate control screen and when its closed i can use the ipad , with music i can attach a Bluetooth adapter to the CD changer so i can use the stereo through i pad to avoid any wiring ,, once i press on CD then the music from the ipad or tablet will be played on the car speakers , using Bluetooth, do u think this can be done ?!??
hamzeh alkhufash personally I would just put the tablet in the glove box and run any wires needed over to it. That way your ipad is hidden, you don't have to cut and trim your bezel or brackets , and you don't sacrifice your other screen or have to try and make a flip door. But again thats just my personal opinion.
HOW TO DISCONNECT POWER ANTENNA
so I just bought a 2000 RX 300 and the radio and computer are not working. Fuse is good. IS replacement the next option? best place to buy parts? Thanks man!!
When you say computer are you talking about the main engine management computer or something different?

@@christsonton3808 there could be quite a few different issues. One of which could be wiring. If you are just curious I want to replace it the cheapest place to find that specific part is probably eBay or a U-Pull-&-pay salvage yard. I would probably recommend eBay over the salvage yard just because at least with that you probably will get some form of a warranty or guarantee that it works. Can you identify which is the speaker wire for the radio

my lcd panel lights have been dimmed w/no blue and is now totally blank. i can still turn things on and off with knobs but no time, temp, etc.
I'd say it's time to replace your LCD screen they go bad over time. That just a guess though

@@fossnaomi personally I don't believe it would be a fuse. Just because you are still able to operate the climate control features even when the screen is all dim and in my opinion if a fuse was bad nothing would be functional in the climate control. My 2000 Lexus I put an alternator on it sound like a turbo came on and now nothing inside the car wants to work not even the scanner
Sounds like you may have a bad alternator. Double check your alternator plug and harness, and harness nut.
Say Asians It starts up but the interest rates control panels inside the radio don't work the headlights don't work till ice don't work windshield wiper runs all the time and the blower motor comes on but you cannot see the control panels or the dash lights
And the security horn won't quit blowing
