THE ECU, or Engine Control Unit, is a computer housed in the engine of vehicles since the mid-90s, in most cases, until today. Its appearance was justified by the industry's demand for vehicles with more efficient combustion in mechanical and ecological terms.
This computer regulates some engine functions, such as working temperature, fuel injection, ignition, valve opening and closing; manages engine rpm, exhaust gas emissions, oxygen levels, and various other parameters for optimal engine operation.

Owner of S500 W221 with issue on ECU cost me 2,200$ to fix replaced with new one. For all people with that issue...my car was running super poorly...from 8 cylinders only 6 were working and not in sync...causes vibration while accelerating - super poor performance...sometimes my car didnt start, but after few IN and out putting key and taking out it works (took 2-3 min for the car to "wake up" and recognize the key go ignite the engine), not gonna mention about the fuel - super bad. If YOU have issue with ECU...FIX it as soon as possible with NEW one that gonna carry your VIN number and the key. It hurts, but if you love your car...you gonna spend 50% of its value to mantain it super nice. And trust me...the car gonna thank you with 100-200k of pure joy. If you drive some sh1tty car - its not worth...like C class or some basic cars with 2 extra cables as "feature" then just scrap the car. But for your expensive babies, please take care.

For me it's the ECU stand's for educated clue useless. 😅 If you don't have a diagnostic tester to tell you what is the things to check. You could have a lot of guess's to what is going on. I want to shoot my truck but it would be best to trade it in. 🤨First got to get it fixed to get there. 🤪 Just need one more good truck to last me. Three years later. Yeah! Sound familiar ladies. 🤣

Sorry folks, but there's nothing to see here. To sum up 14 minutes of video: "If your car isn't running well, take it to a qualified mechanic." That's it. The video claims to teach you how to diagnose the problem, pointing at the ECM (the COMPUTER that manages the performance of nearly every electrical component in your car) when in fact the problems is much more likely to be a bad sensor, wire or connector! In fact, not one sentence of the video discusses actual DIAGNOSIS procedures, they simply tell you over and over again to take your car to a qualified mechanic, which is safe advice for them to give.....
This channel is owned by a company that rebuilds ECMs, but nothing about that is mentioned in the video. Just buying and rebuilt ECM from them or any other company, without having done REAL diagnostics and identifying and troubleshooting the codes that the ECM stores, would be folly, as mentioned above. On the other hand, there are a few outstanding videos on youtube that will teach you how an ECM functions, and more importantly how to diagnose the wiring and connectors, as well as the sensors themselves to find the ROOT CAUSE of the problem, and fix THAT problem instead of throwing part after expensive part at your car until it hopefully runs better. Unfortunately that is how a large percentage of repair shops make their money. Educating yourself on how the ECM and other sensors accessories communicate and how to TROUBLESHOOT them is worth the time you spend learning, whether you effect the repair yourself, or use your newfound knowledge to keep your mechanic honest. Good luck to you all..... 😉
