The video shows my first attempt at Susano hard mode, didn't know what to expect other than the QTE so I tanked it pretty badly. Dat QTE tho. Other than the server issues, everything in Stormblood seems to be of a superior quality to Heavensward. The visuals in this trial were absolutely stunning, and Soken's of course has nailed the entire soundtrack thus far. Also video footage of me marking the wrong Gaol, sorry person.

Sure there's no lyrics, but on the other hand this guy talks quite a bit and sounds like a primal having fun as opposed to being all serious. He actually congratulates you for surviving his ult unlike most.
FlippyMcGiantDad He is a party god, according to his lore on the page. So maybe he thinks it's no fun if you lose that easy.
We're going to invite him over for tea after the main story.

Ramuh was another primal that was an ok guy.
He IS the Lord of Revel. He embraces loud and boisterous occasions and is the only way he sees fit to enjoy himself.
I want Susano and Ravana to:
A) Fight each other in a battle for surpreme glory
B) Have a tag-team match against the Warrior of Light
C) Both of those things at the same time
so basically a fight where the raid wasn't a thought in each overs heads and the dangers of the fight were the two clashing.

Susano came off as very playful, as if he wanted to battle for fun, not out of malice, and his theme reflects that.
Yeah, he's a very jovial kind of guy.

Why do people dislike this theme? I personally love it. I'm ok with the fact that it has no lyrics, this theme pumps me up whenever I hear it.
Dudecrafter This theme is pure perfection. All it's really missing is kabuki yells, ala Okami.

Succubi Pie Nah, I think he means ala Mhigo.
I love the bit that kicks in during the Active Time Maneuver. Really emphasises the intensity of the battle, plus the sheer fact that someone's holding off a sword the size of a tower while it plays makes it all the more badass.
The fact that he talks so much is why there's no lyrics, I think.

To be fair I thought the tank just had to stand on the right spot and do nothing XD It's actually more involved than I thought!
I did it with an open book. Get on my level.
For real though, it was really funny looking to block as a SCH, and I plan to take pictures doing it as a AST.

The QTE is pretty fun for the tank. Looks awesome when you are a PLD with the spirit shield glamour so it looks like you are blocking the massive sword with your offhand.
then you go in as a 90 party hunting doggos and the fricking ast is blocking it while you the pld is just watching... my reaktion to that moment was literally, i'm the healer now then, you're the tank xD
@@shadowtheshadowlord As a scholar who know the QTE happen but no one going to parry the sword so I choose my trusty codex to receive the blade by myself.

I remember the first time I tried this fight, during Stormblood launch. Me and several friends were in Discord enjoying the content, when we finally made it here.
It was so innovative. The graphics, the animations of the boss; blocking the huge sword as a tank was incredible and the music was just astounding. Amidst laughs and chatter I lost track of time so easily, trying to process all that was going on... it was unbelievable. When the final phase began it had dawned on me “Oh right, the fight hasn’t ended yet”.
The theme transition on the last phase is one of the best in the whole game. It’s just as if the transition itself was telling you: “This is not over yet. The real fight has just begun”.
The best part about him I think is that he doesn't even try to temper anyone. He just straight up wants a good fight and that's it.

I love how the Theme is like a storm, starts calm, then you see the Giant Sword and it ramps up like the storm just hit, then to end it all, it gets high energy like lightning is cracking the sky.

This fight was SUPER FUN!!! But as a healer, I have to tell you all to get with the program and dodge! D:<
EDIT: I also had no idea that the tank had an active time maneuver! Super cool! XD
Fun fact, Anyone can take that Active Time Maneuver, I myself have take it as a Dragoon before, the only way to fail it is either failing to mash, You die from AOE damage cause the healers failed to heal you, or your team fails to DPS the 'add' in time.
Open Sunlight I took it by mistake as a healer. We didn't wipe (surely thanks to the other healer) and I REGRET NOTHING.
And I would probably never had known the existence of this QTE of I didn't clicked ahah

The VA for Susano is great; I felt chills when he yelled REJOOOOOOOICE!
When I went into this with my FC, we discovered that when he does the stone gaol shuffle, our scholar's pet follows them and it was easy to know where they were. xD
Just came back thinking about Final Fantasy XVI, I'm so hyped!

I thought they fixed it last night on the Chaos data centre. All of a sudden everyone that was at Raubahn managed to get through after hours of waiting.

This was the Trial that hooked this WoW vets heart, and every single one since. \o/

This first phase reminds me of the Okinawan festivals my mom would take me to
I like the first half of this music. Very jaunty, good music for chores.
2nd half is very serious, and it fits a battle with a Japanese god pretty well.
I love that a change in rhythm and arrangement turns a Japanese folk song into a sea shanty type song xD. Appropriate as Susanoo is god of storms...his persona matches what he is in mythology: a trickster.
When the sword, magatama, and what I'm guessing mirror came together I thought we were going to fight Amaterasu or some kind of version of her and not this jolly fellow

...Also, what a fun fight. I really like how Susano isn't all "Grrr big monster man, destroy smol Warrior of Light", he actually has a little more personality. He's just sort of a...goofball, really. He just likes having a good time, and I think this music fits him perfectly. It has a silly sound to it, but gets heavier and stronger, much like a storm building up.
He's like Gilgamesh except he actually has a good sword :P

Well he is a mix of my two favourite summons in FF lore. Of course Gilgamesh due to his attitude and as well as Odin due to the fact that he is constantly sleeping inside a sword.

When I first did this fight as a Dragoon, my friends ran it with me, and made sure I was the one doing the Active Time Maneuver. I didn't even know it was usually the tank's job, but it sure was fun.

I was stuck for about 12 hours, so wouldn't say I was lucky exactly, although I know people were there for even longer than that. I think the issues are pretty much gone on EU now anyway, I got through when the vast majority of my server did last night. Think it's a different story for our NA brothers though?

...how bloody soggy must our party be when fighting this lad? ..not only is it a literal poolfight, but its constantly raining.

*-Warrior of Light accidentally summons a primal by bringing the final piece to the summoning spot*
*-Primal is overly excited to fight and enjoys battles for the thrill of it, even congratulating his opponents for standing up to his attacks and surviving them. Overall, a very playful personality, unlike most of the other primals that want you to bow before them and become their thralls*
Yeah, part of me is convinced that the main reason the Warrior of Light even fights these primals is just for the challenge. Stopping them from corrupting everyone around them and destroying parts of the world is just a bonus XD

In the headcanon I've been slowly building as I go through the game, Susano was the fight that really made my WoL realise how much they loved combat. They oppose summoning out of principle, but they *really* want to fight Susano again.

I wish there was a bit more to this theme itself though. Like Zurvan's, it has good parts as it progresses, but it just never really goes anywhere.

I'm irrationally upset only 1/3rd of this fight has an orchestrion roll even five years later. Ffs, if they're "too similar" to warrant a second roll, just roll them all into "Revelation". It's not like we have to source both halves of "In The Balance" to hear the whole song
