I must say you have explained in detail and know what you are talking about. Thanks for taking your time to make this video. I wish you the best! GOD BLESS!
I have one for you , old kenmore elite, years ago had problem with the lid , a guy from TH-cam had a video , he didn't live far from me and fixed the lid switch by bending the metal hand slightly, it worked again , my new problem it wouldn't fill with water ? The only thing I could do was to manually fill it myself, it worked, Now it actually fills by its self ??? But it won't wash anymore just makes a humming sound ? I'm lost and DESPERATE!!!! Any advice you could offer me ???? Would greatly appreciate a reply . Thank you .
I am a retired surgeon. You are fantastic. Your details are impeccable. You could have been a surgeon if you had that opportunity as a young man. God bless you. You are doing the Lord's work.
I agree; this guy is a genius. Can you believe his command of the language and the brain it would take to do 46 minutes with no notes, no fumbling, no redundancy, absolute clarity, fun to listen to, etc. etc. He's got it all. The best instructional video I've ever watched. I wanted to give him a big thumbs up, but your suggestion that, "you could have been a surgeon" says it all.
@@lukemccann - I have changed the coupler , capacitor and switch but the machine still does not start on its own, If I turn on, go underneath and manipulate the coupler anti-clockwise or clockwise , it agitates or spin but if I lift the lid or it comes to the end of the cycle , it stops and does not start back- Help !
My husband was ready to call the repair man and we watched your video on resetting the GE washer. We did what you said and like magic it works. Thank you so much!,
i did not complete watching full video but I can not remain calm without appreciating this gentleman with so good information for those who don't know anything about washing machine mechanism
This was soooo helpful!!! My problem was the No. 1 problem. I can't believe I was going to get a whole new machine over a simple $10 part and easy fix! THANK YOU!!
It is not simple as what you think it is. Once you fix or replace one thing in that machine, you have to replace more than one, especially the water level component. If you don't replace this part, one day your room will be in the flood!
I am an Assistant Manager at an appliance store, that also does repairs, and this walkthrough and explanation of issues is very accurate. Despite commission being part of my pay, I always recommend the older, analog models to my customers, as opposed to the newer front-load/stackable options, which are much more pricey. This is because issues often arise due to the manufacturing process put the control board right up front above the door, which ends up getting damaged fairly quickly because of the design. You pretty much covered everything in this video. I wish all my customers would watch this before coming to the store. Hah! It would save me from giving the same spiel time after time! Well done.
Hi good day i have GE washer it fill up with water start to wash then shuts off it was not doing that before i just took out the suspension rod put grees on them when i try to wash it just full up with water start to wash then shut off
6 minutes into your video and i can testify that the first few mentions are SPOT ON!!!! I went through 3!!!!; whirlpool, maytag washers in ONLY ONE Year!!!!! They were high priced garbage. I switched to speed queen so far so good.
WOW ! You look and sound like some of my best technical students. Yea, I was a full line, major appliance service trainer. But, I was a full line service man for 35 years first. I finished my 50+year career, as a trainer, for 15 years at two major companies in Florida prior to retiring. Thank you for your very informative video. You brought back quite a few memories for me. BTW, I've been retired since Nov. 2011. Started working in the field in July, 1961.
I'm a maintenance technician and I've used almost everything posted for HVAC, Hot water tanks and Appliances on here to self teach and do my job more efficiently since Covid has prevented me from doing courses that usually help with all this. So grateful you post these videos and I will never stop using them.
This is wonderful Mr, I as a maintenance technician I really learnt a lot from your video and upgrade my experience ,thank you for your precious tym u have used to share with us
This is amazing, you are killing me. I took a small mirror and looked under the corner where you pointed out the lid switch. I did what you said I can't remember the exact steps but it started agitating and spinning out and refilling. It's been sitting there for 2 years not being used until I saw your video oh my God you're the best!!! You're the only. I am going to subscribe. Thank you
You helped me fixed my washer tonight when I was about to call a repairman tomorrow since I have given up. It's the freaking door sensor that's causing the issue since when I used my finger to push the lever, it works but closing the lid won't. Thank you sir!
You are completely awesome. I am a women and I learned so much from your video. I am so impressed with how you put together all the information and presented it to us. Thank you so so much! I am going to try to fix a problem with my washing machine you mentioned!
Just a few notes /comments: I work for a commercial laundry service company. I do on average 1500 calls per year, mostly apt complexes, universities and hotels. #1 when replacing a pump we use hose crimping plyers and just a towel. Saves alot of time. My biggest problem with pumps are g-strings and bobby pins. #2 Bad rear springs will cause water filling the tub to miss the tub and run onto floor. #3 we have alot of clogged stand pipes, do you see this? #3 Maytag's have a safety mechanism to protect machine from severe out of balance situations. We have to reach between tub and cabinet to reset the arm. #4 I would have mentioned clogged fill hose screens for no or slow fill. We get alot of these. #5 I have never seen the pliers you showed for installing the boot spring. SQ training demonstrates using small screw driver. Where can I find these Pliers? #6 Also a twisted contorted door boot is a sure sign there is a bad shock. Most door boot holes (not rips) occur at the 12 o'clock position and the 2 o'clock position. We repair these using flex seal tape. It works really well. #7 I would have mentioned front load washer over soaping causing failure to drain or spin out water. I get alot of these calls. To clear out the excess soap we flush washer with fabric softener from dollar tree and the soap magically disappears. Last #8 front load washer smells bad and has gunk and mold in it. We use cheap toilet bowl cleaner in a wash cycle and the smell and junk is gone. I liked the video and I understand you could have went on for another hour easily just on these ten problems. I thought it was a professional presentation and informative. THANKS, I SUBSCRIBED
Woo Hoo! Thank you! My issue was Number 10 on your list - dog agits! My 26 years old washer wasn't agitating properly. Given it's age, I figured I'd have to buy a new machine, because a service call just wouldn't be worth it. But those Google algorithms saw me shopping for a used machine and put your video in my TH-cam feed. Can't believe I fixed it myself and I get to keep my good old Kenmore machine!
VERY informative, intuitive, brief and easy to understand presentation. Highly recommended to any novice or journeyman service folks. Good job! Thanks for sharing.
Good morning Jay. I’m a Handyman subscriber who has been watching your channel for about a year and half. Originally I was a secondary math teacher for 28 years who has always been repairing everything at home. Now being retired for last four years I’ve turned handyman. I have a love for learning. Your HVAC and appliance videos are top notch! Your very logical approach in explaining makes abstract concepts crystal clear. I’ve learned a great deal from your videos. By the way, I have a few experiences with water softeners. In this video where you refer to a problem that a customer had this “caviar” or small fish eggs looking stuff clogging the inlet supply filter in a washer, well that’s actually a case where the customer has a water softener that has failed. The resin tank has a type of “filter” that keeps those tiny light tan, translucent beads from leaving the tank when the water softener is in regeneration mode. Once that happens, those tiny beads get into the plumbing system and reek havoc. They can clog all the aerators in the faucets, clog the washing machine inlet valves, clog the toilet tank fill valves and even get inside the water heater. I thought you would like to know that. Keep up the excellent job your doing and I will keep watching. Thanks!
Good morning Richard! Sounds like you had quite the career path! Glad to hear you are enjoying the handyman work and that my videos are helping with furthering your knowledge! I definitely appreciate you explaining how the water softener can cause that! I actually called a senior tech about that one and he told me the same thing. The only problem is that there was no water softener installed in that house... So in the end I never did end up finding out where those small black beads came from.
Most softeners have a mesh screen but if not put a sediment filter on output because that can be a serious problem. I recently installed a carbon tank pre softener this greatly extends life of resin you mentioned, the chlorine kills resin. It also, removes most all chlorine so you don't breath it in while showering. Look at the AO Smith carbon whole house filter, looks like a softener resin tank at Lowes and carbon can be replaced after 600k gals.
Absolutely love how you put together this compilation of problems. I find myself working on just about everything so I love watching these types of videos! Very knowledgable and well spoken. Your shirt reminds me of star trek. Lol...
I sounds like you are on the correct path. We live out in the sticks, and can't get a repairman come out in less than 3 weeks. We have a flex washer, that upper washer works fine. Bottom washer will not respond at all. It will not go into calibration, or diagnostic mode. It pumps out water and then stops there. I got a new PCB board and installed it. I still does the same thing. No codes on lower washer. Thank you Stuck
I sort of volunteered to deal with issues that popped up with my employer's many washers and dryers we use across the campus. The previous approach had always been to buy an new unit when the old one quit working for whatever reason. Some times the unit was only a few months old. Due to security issues at repair tech was never called in to troubleshoot. This meant new a dryer purchased for broken door switches or a thermal fuses or a drive belts or drum rollers and new washing machines any time one would wear through a rubber motor coupling or 9 dollar pump. I thought it was great fun and a challenge to figure out what simple part was keeping the machine from working. I came upon many of the breakdowns on your list. My background was aircraft engineering and the toughest repair was figuring out the Kenmore Top Load Washer Transmission replacement like you said. This was back about 2002 before the TH-cam videos of today and I just had to figure it out as I went along. I remember the transmission part was about 155 bucks from Sears Parts but still less than half the cost of a new unit. That same washing machine lasted another 12 years running 5-8 loads a day M-F.
Oh wow, that's too bad about those machines.. That got scrapped because of a bad lid switch or tripped thermal fuse. I worked with a guy named Rick who was also an aircraft engineer in the past. He was a smart guy too! (must run in the aircraft engineer blood) About the pricing though, when a company gets called out to replace a transmission, the cost of replacing it would be much higher than just the $155 part cost. The part gets marked-up, there's the trip fee, labor cost, and cost of shipping the part (many times I need to order it, not sure what it's like at other companies). Add all of that together and the price is easily over half the price of a new machine.
I’m always trying to find ways to save money “if possible” and researching for my granddaughter who does tons of laundry! This video will be so useful. I was actually looking for how to get stains off my old style tub like yours.
Thanks so much! Very informative! The greatest fix I learned on TH-cam is lifting the lid on a top loader GE washer 6 to 8 times to get my washer to spin the water out. It acts up once in awhile. Its only 6 years old.
Your video is the best on YT! Thank you for taking your time & sharing your knowledge. Had it not been for you, I would’ve junked a perfectly good washer and bought somebody’s second-hand machine. Again, thank you…really.
One time my 20+ year old front loader was draining slowly, and barely completed the spin cycle. Removed the front panel and disassembled the hoses from the tub to the drain pump. Quickly located a nickel directly in the pump inlet. Removed it and rejoiced. 😀
I had a client with a washer problem. I felt sorry for the family, the son's fetor was almost putting off its own atmosphere. I told the father what the problem was and they had us open up the kid and you wont believe what what we found! All it was, was a 29:33 ! Astounding! Thank you for your TH-cam channel and help!
This was such a fantastic video, thank you for being so open about sharing so much detail about the kind of work you do and all the nods to those of us who can probably tackle much of this stuff ourselves. I wish you continued success with all those people out there who'll never bother with videos like this and will need to call you to tighten a loose screw or plug back in their units ... though I imagine you get much more job satisfaction from tackling the more complex jobs. Thanks again.
Andris Batraks I totally agree - what a wonderful video. Kudos to you Andries and all the men and women are able to tackle things themselves ( I’m not one of them😊😱🤪😊😱🤪). What a professional and my gosh, how detailed you are. And to share this information - well just thank you so much, Jay for sharing your time and expertise with everyone.
Wow! You're a champ to take on a line of work like this. It's hard on the body. I know because I've been in it for 46 yrs. Mostly fridges in the beginning, then added the other appliances later. Unfortunately now, there aren't enough hrs in the day to keep up with the new technology. Often times some things just can't be fixed, like the Korean fridges with ice up issues. There are no suitable or long lasting fixes for them. Drain freezeup issues can be a challenge too in general. We don't have decent add on drain heaters other than the Sh-250 which doesn't always yield enough heat to resolve the problem. Drain strap heaters sometimes work and sometimes don't. All in all, it is a challenging line of work to attempt to correct engineering flaws.
Evidently, you are an well trained and expert technician. Your data sheet is well detailed for the most of the problems on different brands washers....Big thank you
I really enjoyed this, I busted out laughing every time he said “the laundry break is over“ 🤣🤣🤣 My laundry break has been three months long! I won’t get into the long story, but I’m getting an older washer, I cannot stand the newer ones. In the meanwhile I’m going to have to go to the laundromat ☹️ my old Maytag last 35 years with no service calls!
I recently fixed my AC with help from your channel (huge thanks -- summer in Houston is HOT), so I was thrilled to see this video when googling to figure out why there's suddenly a puddle under my washing machine. 😬 Have some ideas on what to check next after looking for drain blockages, so thanks once again for your detailed and helpful video!
Really appreciate your data driven and well organized issue categories, and great presentation in an easy to understand manner with picture overlays to help us visualize the parts you're referring to! Thank you!
Hi thank you so much for your videos! You go over so much detail and explanation, of things that we can do ourselves it's fantastic ! I'm not sure if I resolved my issue but there was a couple of thoughts of some of the explanations that it could possibly be but my friend has a washer, that it is not fully spinning initially I Googled and researched and I found out that you can reset the washer because it might get offset due to power surges are unbalanced. So I unplugged the washer for at least 1 minute, then I plugged it in and proceeded within 30 seconds, lifted the lid about these two inches 6 times in a row open close each time not exceeding the 30 seconds, then plugging it in and proceeding with a new wash but it did not solve the problem problem. The washer is a whirlpool top loader. The agitator does spin constantly to the left, and to the right it's locked and turns the drum, so I don't think it is the agitator dogs, but not I think I should still check it out but I can tell you that when you push against the agitator back and forth it does move so it seems like it's loose so whether that would be the dogs or something else that's loose holding it in place maybe that might be a problem? The other thing is when it is in the wash cycle it kind of sounds like there is like a loose chain or change sounds like it's kind of rattling or making like a slight noise Another thing is in the spin cycle the light for spin starts flashing which indicates an off-balance but it's been doing this for a while a while for all loads, &a couple of times it didn't sense the water but it was after changing from one setting like white to a quick wash after pausing , this I believed happened about 3 different times. Sorry so long any help I appreciate it thank you so much!
Sorry meant to say to reset, washer, unplug 1minute, lifting lid 6 times at 2 in not exceeding the 12 seconds & plug back in not exceeding the 30 secs & started a wash cycle no garments
Very good video, informative and easy to understand. I just had to call a repair specialist because my Whirlpool washer is acting up. I tried to start a load but the panel didn't light up and then it started humming. I tried a hard reset by unplugging it, but it just goes right back to that humming sound, like it's trying to drain. I've only had this washer for a few years, so it's quite frustrating that it's acting up already. It's even more frustrating that the repair person can't see me for an estimate until next week. Here's hoping it's something simple that won't require any additional parts, but I'm not holding my breath. We bought my old Estate by Whirlpool washer in 2003 and we had it for over a decade before it started acting up (first it was the lid switch splitting, then it was the motor dying). We just bypassed the lid switch entirely (which I don't recommend) and then a few years later had to replace the whole washer.
Thank you so much for this insanely thorough video. I just fixed my machine and this helped a lot to trouble shoot my problem. Spares cost a fortune though 😞
I find it so depressing to see that across industry, devices don't last nearly as long as those manufactured in prior generations. Great tip on tipping the machine back! I was soaked one day a few years ago.
I agree.. The average life of a new washing machine is 6-10 years. Whereas the old washers can easily get to 30 years or more. Haha yeah, I know what that's like. I used to hate replacing drain pumps or cleaning the filter. But now with tipping the unit back, I rarely get soaked anymore.
So appreciative of your clear and time stamped video! I found exactly what was wrong by watching your descriptions of the various parts and how they fail. I need to order some new dogs ordered for my agitator. while I was removing the agitator I observed a very rotted agitator bolt washer. Cost of these bolt washers are anywhere from a few cents to $12 plus shipping of another $10! How do I make a smart purchase of this washer? I cannot find the actual dimension of the bolt washer. Is anything acceptable? If Im making the repair, I want to do it right.
So far your vids have been super great with lots of info. I’m a maintenance tech and my biggest problem with different appliances is the multimeter trouble shooting with Hvac, dishwashers, washer/dryers. I’d love to see videos with multimeter troubleshooting. Thanks keep up the good work!
Glad you like the videos! Yeah, troubleshooting appliances with a meter is the hardest part because each brand and model is different which makes it hard to make a "general troubleshooting" video on them. But thank you for watching and suggesting the video idea!
@@WordofAdviceTV : I also like the idea of making a video on troubleshooting w a meter, even if only on a specific model. I am struck by how frequently I pick up a useful tip for general use in specific-machine videos. Great work that you are doing.
Dang Buddy, you are a great communicator. I think you could explain anything well. What ever you do, you'll be good at it. Thanks for this great video!
Great job! You obviously like fixing stuff like me. (50 years fixing cars and my own appliances). I had to give up on my 13 year-old top loading Whirlpool. Not one failure of any kind since new but last week rust spots appeared on wife’s new white blouse. Looked carefully in holes at bottom of basket-rust peaking through so I ordered a new 4955 top loader Whirlpool. Always had long trouble-free life from Whirlpool although they have dropped in CR ratings and you said so as well. I stripped old washer apart in back yard and found hub of basket rusting badly. No fixing that. Had it been stainless it might go another 13 years.
This is very helpful. It would be even more helpful (less intimidating to watch) if you could list in the description at time stamp for when you start each new problem so we could skip right to the problem we need help with. Thanks for doing this video!
I fixed my old whirlpool lid switch a few years ago, bought it used and I've had it 9 years. The old ones are the way to go!! I also fixed it filling slowly by checking the metal filter in the fill line, I have well water so I need to clean it more often due to sediment
This video changed my life. I was unemployed, unhealthy, and alone. Then I watched this video and my life was transformed forever. Now I'm the CEO of a successful company, I have a six pack, I'm happily married, and have two healthy sons. Thank you Word of Advice TV for the amazing video!!!
Great video, thanks for taking the time to make this! Those black fish eggs that you mentioned were in the screens and toilets and other fixtures are the filter media or resin from the water softener, when they flushed the hydrant they probably turned the water back on too fast and the pressure sent the resin all through the system from the mineral tank in the basement. I’m a plumber by trade and see this once in a while, if you have a water softener or acid neutralizer or any other treatment system that uses loose granular media, you should always turn water back on very slowly until system fills back up. Thanks again!
I always refer back to this video and has helped me narrow down my washer symptoms. Thank you very much for this detailed video, truly appreciate. Also this guy looks like a young Jeremy Renner 🙂
Great check list! I didn't think of my shop vac to remove remaining water, oops! 1. I need agitator dogs, and possibly clutch assy. Thanks so much for the list!
Well done explaining everything. I'm a retired law man, you would made an excellent law man explaining to violators why that are being arrested or ticketed. Occasionally I've met governors and a president after being on the president's guard. You would have also made a good lawyer or even the President!
yeah man you got what a lot of other videos of this sort don't have DATA and a comprehensive overview based on your experience..... dang.... only thing missing from pure perfection would be maybe an additional video/animation playing in the corner of the repairs that you are talking about....or a stable video of your experiences...I've been binging on washmachine videos lately and this one is REALLY good
Thanks for this video and all the others especially with the air-conditioning ones this summer. I service my own units in my rentals and it's very helpful. Thank you again for your investment in these videos
Back in the good ole day's I use to get washers that the filter and pump would get clogged with cloth diapers that were not rinsed out before putting into the washer. The tub is full of water to the top and had to come out. The only way to move the water out was to crawl underneath and pull the drain hose off. If you weren't quick enough your day became rather uncomfortable. Of coarse no one washes diaper today. Good videos!
I was told I was psychotic because I kept track of problems like you do but when there was a problem others couldn't figure out, they came to me. Is that a StarTrek shirt you're wearing? Thanks for the excellent video.
My Maytag toploader was in storage for 2 years in AZ. and when I used it the first time quite a bit of water came out the front, left side bottom (as you face the washer). Also, when it was filling, the water sprayed like a fan (imagine holding your thumb on a garden hose), more outward instead of down. I was told by phone that "seals dry out from non-use" Any suggestions as a fix? BTW...GREAT VIDEO! CLEAR, CONCISE, & INFORMATIVE!
This is an amazing piece of careful, beautifully presented work. I'll be looking to see what else you've done on YT. Thank you so much! OMG was sitting here and saw one of my favorite sights in the world, the approach to Honolulu.
Thanks for all your knowledge. I was working on my son Amana washer that would stop at the final spin, but when he pressed the start button it would complete. I did something online that said it could be the lid switch or the shift actuator. He had a service come in and it stumped the service tech from the codes he got on his diagnostics. I not sure how he did that diagnostic since there is no display on this model. He did confirm it was the shift actuator. I wish I could have confirmed that for sure to same him money. Live and learn.
And thank you for watching and sharing your washer experience! It's constant learning with washers. I already got used to coming across problems I can't figure out on about a bi-weekly basis. The machines that have self-diagnostics do help though. Nowadays there is a lot of info on TH-cam, including how to put the machine into a diagnostic test mode so it's getting easier to find solutions. I am sure you will get it fixed next time!
Lol, you’re a tease. Interesting video though. We have been using a Whirlpool washer for years. Had it fixed once for one of those plastic actuators. Then I saw a Samsung in the scratch and dent section in Lowe’s. It didn’t have any dents or scratches, but it had a new pump installed. It was half price, so I grabbed it. It’s got a huge drum. Washes really well and saves water. It decides how much water you get, and balances the clothes before it starts washing. It even plays a tune when it’s done. I’m keeping the Whirlpool just in case...
If you have a place to put it, I would keep the Whirlpool as a back-up too. On average, the lifespan of a new Samsung washer is 1/3 of those old Whirlpools. Those machines are pretty much the best out there, according to the majority of appliance techs. The new ones are nice and have cool features but their quality is not as good. But hopefully in your case, that Samsung will go over 30 years, easy!
You are very easy to understand and you get right to the job. Over all you make great videos. And I will always look for your videos.keep up the good work. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing. I am now convinced that I should have replaced my old machine with the same thing. I am not pleased with the newer no agitator. I will never buy another whirlpool washer.
I've got an Admiral washer that is at least 23 years old (my dad gave it to me). I think the timer is going bad, which is how I ended up here. Thank you for this vid.
Thank you for the wonderful video! So much good info!!! I am thinking I need to replace the pcb (?) Part after watching this video. I spoke to repairman who heard my problem and said it might be a bad timer. I was wondering if that was another name for pcb? I had been doing laundry. Was getting ready to begin a new load of laundry. I added my detergent, closed the lid and was letting the washer begin to fill. After there was a couple inches of water, I opened lid and added the dirty laundry and closed the lid, but nothing happened. I was expecting the washer to continue filling. All I could do is get the washer to spin but that seems to be all it will do. Does that sound like anything you have experienced? Love to know, thanks soooo much! Have a great day
Great job on this video , buddy, really appreciate it !!!! Came here becos I have a Whirlpool ( 20 yrs old ) where the tub is banging on the side during the spin cycle ( got unbalanced with coat/jackets ) . However it does not have 4 suspension springs. Some other mechanism on bottom. Have to keep looking at what is off. 3 horizontal springs on bottom look fine. So something else is the prob....
Do you want to do that or you will do that? There is a difference. May I recommend a good video? You may or may not know him but this guy is awesome! th-cam.com/video/ht-uJbfYMlM/w-d-xo.html
@@WordofAdviceTV yes, I'm already saving money to buy her a washing machine. I know it's not much yet but soon, I'll be able to save more and buy it. Thank you for your help.
yea, had the problem with the lid switch years ago on my washer. I just bypassed the switch and it is working fine ever since. I thought it was not really needed at the time! Nice long video this time. I am surprised your company let's you do washer & dryers along with hvac. seems the washers would be too specialized, with so many different makes models!
I've done that plenty of times before too :) The lid switch is more of a safety for people who have kids that could stick their hand in the washer while it's spinning. Haha and you are right about that... Not a lot of companies will do that. And even less companies will work on all brands of appliances. I guess I got lucky :) I get to see them all. I prefer HVAC work but during the slow seasons, appliance work is good to have around.
One that was not covered, and you should check before you call the repair person is this... Some model washers come with an accessibly long drain hose to make it easy to put into the wall drain receptacle which eliminates the use of clamps to prevent the hose from coming out of the wall from the water pressure when draining. The problem is if the hose inside the wall receptacle is lower or even with the water in the tub then it starts to set off the emergency shut off system. Solution, simply pull out the long hose out of the wall receptacle and cut off 50% of the long hose and put it back in and BINGO! Problem Solved! If by cutting off the long hose and the hose wants to jump out of the wall drain receptacle, then just get a clamp to hold the hose down in the wall receptacle.
What an excellent video, really informative, full of real-world content of problems resolved, time for the real trip to Hawaii... you deserve it my friend for that presentation...
Excellent, very informative video! From what I saw points to bad MCU on my front loader. Also, shocks may be old as it bounces 3 or 4 times. Unplugged after 06 error code plugged back in and was acting weird then plug let out a bit of smoke like it was pulling too much power while the motor just spun slightly. It is an older Kenmore He3t so I'm sure either the MCU or ECU or both. May need a new plug as well, hmm... Thank you for the great video!
Thanks.very informative. Had heavy rains flood house. Ruined new maytag washer. I'm about to tear into it and see if I can fix it. From your data, seems like a belt problem. We'll see!
I must say you have explained in detail and know what you are talking about. Thanks for taking your time to make this video. I wish you the best! GOD BLESS!

i did not complete watching full video but I can not remain calm without appreciating this gentleman with so good information for those who don't know anything about washing machine mechanism
BRAVO! A MAN WHO KNOWS HIS PROFESSION AND ALSO KNOWS HOW TO EXPLAIN VERY WELL. VERY ORGANIZED MIND. THANK YOU AND THANK GOD FOR PEOPLE LIKE YOU
This was soooo helpful!!!
Well done.
Wow. You're a good person.
The Beeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssstttttttt.
Hi good day i have GE washer it fill up with water start to wash then shuts off it was not doing that before i just took out the suspension rod put grees on them when i try to wash it just full up with water start to wash then shut off

Excellent video !!! Anyone lucky enough to have you service their machine should feel blessed. Thank You!!!
6 minutes into your video and i can testify that the first few mentions are SPOT ON!!!! I went through 3!!!!; whirlpool, maytag washers in ONLY ONE Year!!!!! They were high priced garbage. I switched to speed queen so far so good.
It's so sweet of you to share your expertise to save unwarranted calls to the appliance repairman! THANK YOU!!!
Do you have to have both hot and cold water hoses connected even if you don't use the hot Water, for the washer to run?
Thank you
Haha glad to hear you were able to get the washer fixed! :) Thank you for commenting and subscribing!
Why the washer does not spin dry it stops at spin on the last cycle
You helped me fixed my washer tonight when I was about to call a repairman tomorrow since I have given up. It's the freaking door sensor that's causing the issue since when I used my finger to push the lever, it works but closing the lid won't. Thank you sir!
This dude knows what he's talking about so listen to him. Great channel!
This is the most informative video that i have ever seen from a technician, lots of information thanks alot man.
Great info.
Informative and even entertaining, you are keeping appliances out of the scrapyards and landfills.
Your knowledge is invaluable.
Every video I watch, I become a pro, I'm now qualified to speak on the subject.
And you had five cents to spend at the store.
You are an absolute awesome teacher and easy to understand. You're also easy on the eyes. smile.
What a well done video. I love that you have sectioned each problem out and given it a title. Great job explaining in layman's terms. Very helpful.

At this point, i call it a scam, actually closer to an organized crime.
I have put about $100.00 into the washer and still didn't work. I got so frustrated with it decided to buy a new one. That solved the problem.👍
Really appreciate your data driven and well organized issue categories, and great presentation in an easy to understand manner with picture overlays to help us visualize the parts you're referring to! Thank you!
)
The other thing is when it is in the wash cycle it kind of sounds like there is like a loose chain or change sounds like it's kind of rattling or making like a slight noise
Another thing is in the spin cycle the light for spin starts flashing which indicates an off-balance but it's been doing this for a while a while for all loads, &a couple of times it didn't sense the water but it was after changing from one setting like white to a quick wash after pausing , this I believed happened about 3 different times.
We just bypassed the lid switch entirely (which I don't recommend) and then a few years later had to replace the whole washer.
i always go to this guy for all my problems he is one of the best of the best i make sure to always include him in my searches
Thanks to Walmart and China

THANK YOU!! I WAS PANICKED THINKING I HAD TO BUY ANOTHER!!! 💪🏿❤️💪🏿

Hahaha I love it! I enjoyed the comment my friend, be blessed in all your career, family, and fitness ventures!

Took apart my washer this afternoon, nothing clogged. Ordered a new drain pump on Amazon for $20, should be here tomorrow. 🤞
I was told I was psychotic because I kept track of problems like you do but when there was a problem others couldn't figure out, they came to me. Is that a StarTrek shirt you're wearing? Thanks for the excellent video.
This was the first time I watched your video and I was impressed. I'll have to fix my washer now.
Thank you for all the info that you put out there to help those of us that want to try to do it on our own. Much appreciated.
This was very informative. I think it's my board. The water runs for about a minute and stops. I have an older Kenmore.
I am sure you will get it fixed next time!
what brands have the least problems and does agitator have less issues than impellar type? Thank you very much for sharing your expertise.
In my opinion they are all junk in five to eight years you will be buying a new one
Our top loader whirlpool has had one replacement joint and now needs a bearing replaced. She is 22 years old this month.
Lol, you’re a tease.
Interesting video though.
We have been using a Whirlpool washer for years. Had it fixed once
for one of those plastic actuators.
Then I saw a Samsung in the scratch
and dent section in Lowe’s. It didn’t
have any dents or scratches, but it
had a new pump installed. It was half price, so I grabbed it. It’s got a
huge drum. Washes really well and
saves water. It decides how much
water you get, and balances the clothes before it starts washing.
Thank you.

So something else is the prob....

yea, had the problem with the lid switch years ago on my washer.

Awesome information buddy, thank you for the great value you bring with these washing machine problem videos. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for making this video your are my favorite person

We'll see!
I just bridge out the door switch not necessary for adults. Informative video
