  • How to clean your Hydroflask or insulated bottles. (How to Remove odor and grime)
Yay! I got my first Hydro Flask and I have been cleaning it with this method since i got it. There are other Hydro Flask sold online: amzn.to/36bRnZh ranging from $27 - $44. There are also gasket replacments ( amzn.to/3b5TPET ). But if you clean your insulated bottles everyday it will be odor and grime free. You have to remove the gasket to clean the build up of grime and protein, especially with coffee and sugar drinks. Get a good bottle brush ( amzn.to/31HdfNj ) a tooth pick, some liquid dish soap ( amzn.to/3b6NdWN ), and wash cloth for this cleaning.

Thanks for this video. This is the only thing I found that explained how to reset the gasket. Mine feel out the other day while I was washing it and everything I did ended up with a slow leak. Then you explained that I had put it in upside down

Yeah... i had to call Hydroflask to confirm about the seal. You can also remove the seal with a fork.

Thank you so much for this video!! I took off the plastic part from my bottle cap and haven't been able to put it on correctly. Whenever I shook my bottle or had it sideways, water would start leaking out and I thought it might be the end of the life for my bottle that lasted 4 years. After watching your video I put it on the other way and now it's all tight and doesn't spill!

Gotta be smarter then that, even though you plan on using it again right away, putting something wet over that inner part that doesn’t get wet (the plastic part that is against the lid) can cause mold, so it probably is smart to fully dry everything before doing that. You could of even took a paper towel or a blow drier to do that as well

  • @Brianfitzzz

Hi people, just a squirt of hydrogen peroxide will clean the flask. Shake it up. Then use hot water, usually about 140 degrees inside the flask shake it up then rinse. All done.

Do not clean anything you plan on eating or drinking out of with bleach. Most often times you don’t need something as strong as bleach to clean with anyways

You’ll ruin the insulation! Don’t do it!
      From HF website:
      “*You shouldn’t:*
Put your flask through the dishwasher or soak the exterior in hot water: The dishwasher can get hot enough to affect the insulation property of the flask as well as discolor the powder coat. Similarly, soaking your entire flask in hot water can discolor the powder coat.”

I had my hydro flask for around 6 years now. Mine had that flip up straw lid. I think I brought it home for my wife to wash twice. Although every few months I’ll take out the mouthpiece and gasket and clean it out. Always filled with dirt and stuff. Sometimes the dirt is red, maybe some kind of mold?

      1. I don't want to damage my bottle design, its a limited edition. 2. I wash a full load every 3 days, so it only takes 2 minutes to wash by hand. 3. The lid gasket still has to be removed to be cleaned.
