Very interesting thanks! I went out on a limb and bought a certified 15 GTS, low mileage white on black with a factory fitted aero kit in May-20 when no one wanted to buy a car. It was sat around for a good few weeks and I got it at a great price because I also traded my 2008 997 C2S for it, for not far off what I paid for it three years earlier. The dealer wanted lower value stock at that time I think.
I’m now watching the prices with amusement, but ultimately I bought the car to treasure and because it was always my dream to one day own a racy 911 that sounded epic. When the whole world has moved to EV these cars will be priceless in terms of the pleasure they bring to petrol heads, regardless of whatever happens to $$ values. I think it’s a good lesson in just buying something that you love, can be proud of and enjoy. It’s one of life’s pleasures in a crazy world.

Have to agree on the 2016 991 GTS - Last year of the NA car and the GTS cars should hold values long term and actually could be the next big RUN in price. It hits all the buttons!

Just what the doctor ordered (and I requested a few months back) - well done, guys!
Feeling even better about my loaded 18k mile 991.1 S that I picked up for under $70k right before the pandemic;) At the time I thought, I'll drive this for a few years then sell it as the "last normally aspirated 911!" and basically break even. It's precisely what I did with my 996 (made a $2k profit after 2 years and 25k miles) and 997 4S (only lost $1k after putting 65k glorious miles on it over several years). Look like I may be able to continue my near-free Porsche streak;) Man, only Porsche allows this kind of craziness. Anyhow, thanks again for devoting an episode to those of us in this market segment. Your expertise is much appreciated. -

This was helpful to sort out the differences. I decided on a 2012 991.1 Carrera S Cabrio as I like the naturally aspirated drivetrain. I can update the stereo for Carplay. The lights, fine as they are. Fabspeed exhaust going on when I get the car. Thanks for the content.

Great video guys and the review of your 991.1’s was great listening. I have purchased a 991.1 C4S cabriolet (the same as that White exterior with Black wheels cabriolet you had on here). This dream car is finally a reality. 😁

That ultra limited numbers 2017 991.2 Endurance Racing Edition is gonna be huge money down the road. Because it is so under the radar is why it will be so extremely exclusive in the 911 market. You are spot on predicting these are all the elements that bring crazy money down the road to a Porsche.
235 world wide production and only 73 cars for the USA and that 73 is spread out to all three colors (white , red , black). So now you are down to 24 of each color in the USA. Can’t think of any modern model more limited in numbers from the factory???
Considering it’s even optioned up from Porsche to a GTS with special edition top options all over it and bespoke carbon fiber interior really sets it apart from the herd. I had to look it up what to see what Porsche did for this “Endurance Race Edition” after this video and it’s a hell of a lot besides the race graphics.

I just picked up a 2013 911 SPDK coop with 60,000 miles in 2023 with ceramic brakes I went to go get Dunkin’ Donuts coffee meet my dad one day after Easter because he was bored and what happened was I was on the market for 997.2 manual keep in mind I had a lot of Porsche 911 air cool vehicles which are awesome I never would’ve looked at the automatic Porsche I just took it for a test drive to see what was all about and when I came back I didn’t know where to sign the papers in the dealership phone calls coming in and out for my 2013 Porsche 911 I paid 57,000 but taxes and title and all fees came out around 62 k I am very pleased I was not thinking I was going to buy this car but man do I love it on my test drive I passed a dealer in the 2013 Porsche 911 and found a 997.2 manual and let me tell you what I did I didn’t even give it a second glance the soundtrack on the Porsche 911 991.1 is let me put it to you this way rated R for adults only a real man’s car naturally aspirated all the way Porsche there is no substitute Don’t get me wrong I like Ferraris but Porsche is always going to start up in the morning and I’ll leave it at that

Curious that black wheels are [temporarily] popular. Don’t think they will lend themselves to value over time.

Great video David and Jim. 991.1 are awesome for the money. What do you think of the 50th anniversary models? Next anniversary is just around the corner. Can't wait to see what Porsche introduces.

Don't be dissing me 991.1 cab, looks much better than the coupe, which is looks awfully pedestrian! And with sport exhaust on the S model, it sounds like a GT3! Same torque too!

Apparently 991.1 Turbos (S non S Cab etc) don’t even exist. These guys even say 991s are “not Turbo cars”. They like GTS and white cars. They put cars on here that are something they like to look at and ignore the people who would like some serious answers about cars that are hard to value like the 2104 turbo S cabriolet.
