  • Join James Barry along with guests David Whitlock and Plamen Pankoff as they report the results of some prominent Porsche sales from this week, including a 993 3.8RS, a Seinfeld-owned 993 and a record setting Macadamia 997GTS. The guys also share some valuable information and knowledge while taking a journey through the many generations of the venerable Mercedes SL.

Great episode. You really concentrated on finding the essence of each flavor of SL through the generations in terms of value and performance. That's not easy at all.

Well done guys. I have owned 3 generations of sl. You showed a pic of my current sl63 which I am immensely enjoying. Although R129 is and will always be the best. Current sl is not selling and should have never used the name. It’s simply a amg gt.

David the engine judge. Good to see you online. Missed you at the Birmingham parade. We had the 904 GTS this year.

Excellent episode. Enjoyed every minute. And you're absolutely right about R129. That and W140 were the last really over-engineered, top quality Mercedes-Benzes. Just like when the transformation from hand built 964's and 993's moved to water cooled and new mass production like with 996/Boxter, Mercedes quality went down. Both Porsche and Mercedes seriously cut the production costs at that time. I think the only reason why R129 prices haven't gone up is that they made so many of them. I think more than 200.000. Ironically it was too popular.
Keep up the good work. Great channel.
