Update: I am doing this job again, and discovered that the shifter does NOT need to be removed from the car. See 4:00. Just unbolt the bottom of the shifter from the Transmission selector arm (after the drive shaft is removed). Presto. Leave the shifter in place.

Thanks for recording this Herman, I'll be really interested to hear how you like the new clutch plate. Bummer that the rear diff is such a big job, I'll be interested to hear if you last idea ends up working, but it seems like a big project. I'll be taking my to my trusted independent JLR mechanic for the Quaife install.

Thank you for making the effort to video your F-Type project. It is very relivant to my XK NA 5.0L MT conversion.
Since XK and F-Type are closely related and NA 5.0L torque is less than 10% greater than F-Type S, the ZF S6-45 should be suitable for a grand tourer. While there are some issues, much will bolt on.
Have you considered the oil filter internal to the S6-45?

Your XK 5.0 NA MT sounds like a great project. Your choice of flywheel should compare the Jaguar OEM/Sachs dual mass vs the Aasco Motorsports single mass flywheel that i commissioned. The difference being smooth low rpm operations, versus faster shifts and more spirited high rpm operation.
I will look into the filter and fluid change on the tranny. Anything special there?

Do you know anything about the jaguar vapor canister? Or can you send me info on how to remove? Thank you. 2012 is the year.

I am not familiar with the vapor canister, but you could look at the jaguar repair manual on the Jaguar Forums and do a search on key words.
