Fantastic review. Great job really laying out the pad wear and how it effects sound and touching on the build quality. I adore my dt770 pro 80 ohm. There just something familiar about grabbing them for day to day stuff even though I own more technical headphones.
Exactly this. Every time I've been using another headphone, even ones far superior I put on my 770's and I feel like I've come home. I often forget I'm wearing them, I might have finished playing a game, watching a video or whatever hours ago but I never took them off and they never get uncomfortable so often I just leave them on all day.

I LOVE the DT770 Pro 80 Ohm without any EQ on it for listening to music. Especially Metal, even more so Gothic Metal, sounds sooo wonderful with these. The treble really shines on the female voices and the bass impact is just as well awesome. I love it. Somehow Beyerdynamic did hit my taste to 100% how I like it so that I dont need an EQ for them at all.
@@fgboii4687 (might be a little late of a response, but) you can use the 80 ohm version on a smart phone or laptop, but it’ll be very quiet, even at max volume. If you plan to use these headphones for mobile use, then get 32 ohm.
old comment but same. before I switched to linux I used to use my headphones with sonarworks to 'flatten' the sound, but since then Ive just been listening without EQ. And I love it!! they sound so crisp and a wonderful stereo image
Based on multiple measurements I've seen, it looks like the 250 ohm version is more v-shaped. The 80 ohm looks more balanced. Not sure why the opposite has been getting repeated for so long.
@Has Goodles hi there! Can I ask you what is your audio interface/amp to plug in your DT 770 PRO 80Oohm headphones? I have the Focusrite 2i2 second gen, and I have to turn up the volume min. 65~70% to be at the level I feel comfortable with. Thanks
I just got the 80 ohm version yesterday, and can say with certainty that you definitely want an amp with the 80 ohm cans. You'll have to crank up your phone/ipad volume to full max to get just a medium level of volume. It's fine, but it's not enough to please most people. They work great with my motu m4 audio interface though, so I'm definitely keeping them. Just figured I'd mention in case your on the fence about which ohm version to get. If you plan on using your phone mostly, definitely get the 32ohm version.
Yeah, I can validate this as well. My old audioengine d1 dac/amp didn’t have enough omph. Even with my somewhat new jds labs atom stack, I have to crank the knob to around the 12-1 o clock position on low gain.
So the 250 ohm version isn't actually more resolving, it just has more present/extended treble, correct? My curiosity has got the better of me. I love the 80 ohm version I just got, but I can't help but want to try the 250 for improved sound.
I got the 250 ohm for the low bass and I'm going to be running it on the focusrite scarlett 2i2 I haven't got it yet but I hope I like it this will be my very first set of headphones and first time using a daw or any kind of music I'm building my studio up now should have all my stuff by next week can't wait to start using all these awesome gadgets got a novation launchpad and a novation impulse 25 coming with sustain and expression pedals akg microphone booms and all kinds of stuff so exited can't wait 😀
@@rockman49er was the 2i2 able to drive the 250 ohms? I have a 2i2 too and I couldnt decide between the 80 and 250 version, i will use them for recording, production, and general purpose (music, films, games etc). I have heard that the 250 needs 100% monitor volume and it might be still be quieter than wanted, is that the case?
I got the 80 ohm a few years ago based on a review I saw. The bass was fantastic and quick as you describe. Not a lot of mid-bass which is great (I find stuff like the hd650 and koss porta pro to have an ear-clogged underwater sound because of too much mid bass for my ears). The soundstage, imaging, and build quality are awesome. The only issue was the "mount beyer" treble peak. I would listen to guitar solos and they would sound great until hitting that certain note. Way too loud in comparison to the rest. Either way, these are my favorite headphones.
@@fgboii4687 If it's high end like a Samsung Galaxy or Macbook should be no problem. Mediocre laptops/phones may skimp on the headphone output so the 80 ohm may start to distort at loud volumes.
The issue with pad degradation is intractable really. I've been using Senn HD580s (with HD600 grilles) for almost 20 years which have similar pads to the DT 770, and it's always a (welcome) surprise how much the bass improves in quantity and extension when I replace them (on the fourth set so far). I've just ordered DT 770 Pro 250's because (after all these years) I fancy a bit more bass extension occasionally (I've started to really appreciate the double-kick work that many contemporary hard rock drummers use - love the "serene swan" effect when they seem to leisurely keep time on the kit while machine-gunning intricate 1/16th-note fills/patterns with the kick). ETA >> if you read this, have you considered how the two different versions are interacting with the amp used? Have you tried multiple amps? I'm using a fairly refined Cmoy (opamp) design with a 24v (Li-ion battery) supply and split rail (IOW +12/-12V), and although it should theoretically be fine with 80 ohms I know that ultimately it has limitations in it's current headroom (because of the rail splitter chip) and should be better with the 250 ohm load which I why I went with them (but probably going to swap the cable for a straight one).
Thank you for your video, but I have a question. How did you carry out the frequency response test?, all I can gather is that the two responses are relative, but not knowing what the response of the microphone that sampled the curve was, it is impossible to ascertain the correct curve. As an old fart from a professional recording background, I thought I should point this out. From my research, I found out that the 80 Ohm version has a longer voice coil former so that the 80 Ohm version can have longer excursions (ie be louder) and still be within the magnetic flux. Difficult to explain verbally, much like trying to explain architecture by smell. Industry standard frequency response microphones are made by B&K and cost a fortune, they are used to accurately measure frequency response. Sorry I'm waffling. I love the 770 Pros 80 ohm. Before I always used the Sennheiser Professional HD 25, but have found their construction leads to problems. The plugs into their drivers fail which leads to them being terrible to use. I changed over to the Beyerdynamics and have not had any problems since. I listen at high volume and the comfort of the 770's is perfect for long and detailed listening. I would recommend the 770 Pro 80 ohm. Waffle over, and out. :-))
Interesting. What amp were you using for the testing of the 250Ohm? Considering they are tough to drive, maybe that had an impact? I've had a different experience than you. I bought my first 80Ohm set of DT770 Pro's in early 2009. It was my first good set of headphones, replacing my old cheap and beaten up 1990's vintage Sony MDR CD250's I inherited from my dad. When I first got my 80ohm set in 2009, I struggled with them. I thought the highs were harsh and sibilant enough to make me cringe at times. The Head-Fi forums peeps suggested I "break them in" with pink noise. I didn't actually believe this would do anything but I gave it a try, running them for a week straight with pink noise on a loop. I'm not convinced that did anything, but over time I got used to them. It was probably a case of breaking in my ears more than it was breaking in the headphones. That said, I bought the 80hom version specifically because I wanted to run them straight out of the 3.5mm line out on my laptop and iPod. Back then dedicated DAC's and headphone amps were - shall we say - less prevalent than they are today. Like you, I prefer open backed headphones for music listening, (this is what I use my Sennheiser HD650's, or rather, the Massdrop HD6xx version for) but I like to keep a closed set around for when things are noisy. These days, I have a decent DAC (Second gen multibit Schiit Bifrost 2) hooked up with balanced cables (to avoid noise) to a first gen Schiit Jotunheim. The Jotunheim has ample power, so a couple of years ago, I decided to pick up a set of 250ohm set to see how they differed. Side by side, I find them pretty similar. The 250Ohm set is maybe a little bit more civilized, and I think I like them better, but it is really very close. (Yes, I used new pads for the comparison) To your point, this may be up to unit variance. Who knows.
Thanks for the video ! I see the boss katana in some shots, are you using the 770dt 80 ohm with this as well ? I have the 990 which I use with my katana and my helix, but I find them too bassy and a bit muddy. The rule of thumb for the helix is 12ohm x 8 > 96 ohms impedance for the headphones. Would you still recommend the 80 ohms for that usage, or rather the 250?
Very helpful..What would be a good closed back specifically for music monitoring/reference only?? Specifically for recording of piano instrumentals in studio setting? They have very high dynamic range and note separation. Looking for something airy and crispy, but must be closed back, unfortunately. I have open backs and speakers for personal listening though. Ty
Just got mine , love them , wow what quality ! I use with either a Play 3 or Play 4 DAC. Play 4 is USB-C so works with my A53 5G smartphone. The sound is incredible , after years of using plastic "gaming" headphones. Will buy a separate mic too , when needed.
I am looking for a smaller, cheaper but good amplifier/dac for the Beyerdynamics DT 770 pro 80 ohm. I have very little knowledge about this and can use all the help choosing the right product. I want to use this with an LG CX television. Is it possible to connect an amplifier to this television via optical, USB or 3.5 mm cable? And would this just work well with these headphones? If so, do you have any recommendations or can you recommend some products? Thanks in advance
I suspect a lot of this comes down to individual variances during manufacturing and not the impedance of each model. I just replaced an 80 ohm set with tame highs that were perfect for all-day music listening (and that I should have never sold in the first place) with another 80 ohm, and these new ones are painfully bright. I've personally found the change in sound signature when replacing the pads to be extremely minor, though this could be because the adhesive failed long before the foam collapsed both times I needed to replace them.
I'm so torn! These, or the K371s? I'm not looking for a super neutral set. Rather, I'm looking for something with a fun signature. Something I can enjoy bassy music, and big dumb action movies with. Would you recommend these?
I picked up a set of these cans years ago but, as I found out in an odd fashion, I have a larger head than average head. It took a few days of leaving the headphones stretched over the box they came in to make them comfortable to wear all day. Something to keep in mind if you find these amazing headsets a bit too tight when you first get then. They really are bullet proof!
Great review! How's the volume with a smartphone? I've been looking at the 32ohm version but I prefer the pads on the 80ohm, also I think the 32ohm is brighter like the 250, which I don't like the sound of. Thanks
@Wheezy Tech How are you powering yours 250ohm version? What you describe sounds to me like an under power issue. If you are using that Focusrite on the background that won't be enough to drive the 250ohm up to it's maximum potential. This being said I also own the 80ohm.
Hello i have a question, so i am producing trap music and i am looking for beyerdynamics dt770 pro but i dont know ehat to choose should i buy 80ohm or 250ohm and my interface is scarlett 2i2 gen3 please respond thanks! 🙏🏻
I need your advice! I am a family guy who have used the Sennheiser HD700 for a long time. With kids running around and noise in general i kinda want to invest in a closed back headset and this one have gotten so much appraise from everyone. But the question is, could this be good enough to replace HD700? I am not a studio guy, i like to listen to music and game with them. I am perfectly happy with the HD700's but kinda want some noise isolation. But if i sacrifice too much of sound quality im not sure, also HD700 is known for theyre great sound stage ...... not sure :o
1 of the big selling points of these for me was the extra long uncoiled cord, however, after a year's use, the cord has become curled in 2 separate large areas. Are there any tips to uncurl it and get it straight again. When I try to pull it straight, it just curls back into a permanent coil.
I see you have a Boss Katana and a Les Paul in the background, and I'm currently looking for a pair of headphones that can be used for practicing quietly with the guitar, with the headphones plugged into the guitar amp. What impedance would you recommend?
Yes you do deserve more subs than this for sure. Subscribed. Quick question, does the 80ohm version work well on the focusrite solo you have behind you? I bought the dt700 250ohm version and the focusrite was not enough for them, they were not loud at all so I returned them. I wasn't gonna buy a headphone amp...
Thank you for the informative video. I have a Behringer XR18 digital mixer and its headphones output impedance/level is rated at 40 Ohm / +35db (stereo). Which DT 770 PRO should I consider? 32, 80 or 250 Ohm?
I wish there were more resources to explain the sound of the 32 and 16 ohm version. I got the 16 ohm version as a gamble for $60 and I enjoy the sound and durability. However, nobody talks about since it was an exclusive for Guitar Center.
I watched the video but didnt really understand one part of it. What is the main difference between the 80ohm vs the 250 ohm in a general daily use task. I just want to play story games listen to the amazing sound track and play games watch youtube etc. Should i pick the 250 ohm or 80 ohm ?
For people like me with not so good and trained ears, I consider a headphone with big bass (but CLEAR and FAST) and high peak around 8-10k, to detect the sibilance much more easier when I mix, a blessing. Ordered this today - eager to “see” how it sounds!
You will definitely need a dac/amp to make the most out of it. Get a $100 dac and $100 amp (jds labs atom stack, schiit audio, etc.). On my old audioengine d1 dac/amp combo, it wasn’t enough.
'Nice review! Would you recommend this for mixing? I am considering this or the AKG K701 or K702 because they are open back, but I´ve heard really good opinions on the 770 for mixing, besides they are closed headphones.Thank you!!
If you want an AKG i heard that the K612 Pro is better sounding than the 700 series. I would personally not use a v-shaped headphone for mixing because it is not neutral and so you will compensate for the v-shaped sound, not saying that the DT770 Pro is bad just not neutral
Yeah regardless of how much bass each unit has anymore for the 80 ohm, the big difference is definitely that the 250 ohm not only has more treble but the air elevates in addition to the treble spike. Regardless of variation, this characteristic above 10k has been pretty consistent with 250 vs 80 in my experience. I keep around a decade old or so DT770 80 ohm because the soundstage is immense and the bass is so much fun. K371 is a much better headphone for hearing what was actually recorded
Or you can try the Custom Studio which is supposed to be just a DT770 80 ohm but with an adjustable bass port and removable cable from the factory. Not sure why there isn't more hype behind it
@@metal571 think the adjustable Bass is for many a no go in terms of seriosness. The Feature has a toy charakteristic. I have my 80 Ohm Version, since many years and it did never bother me. Since over a year a use my Elegia as closed back, though coming back from time to time is always fun
I've wanted to try the Custom Studio for a while because of the removable cable mostly. But the price has generally put me off, I mean if its basically a 770, I'm not sure a removable cable and bass ports are worth 50% more cash. It is probably a neater solution than drilling holes in the chassis for a mod, but maybe less fun?
Thanks for your review question I’m looking for head phones to practice my bass guitar I will be using a Palmer pocket amp would these headphones be a good buy for my practice thanks
Ik this is a late response so idk how useful this’ll be, but they’re great for that. I bought mine for monitoring my guitar and they’re awesome. That’s pretty much what they’re made for actually. They’re very comfortable so you can wear them as long as you want, and they have a nice tight clamp so you can move around in them without worrying about them falling off. The 80 ohm version is actually pretty easy to drive so you don’t need to worry about having enough power for them. I’d want something more neutral for mixing, but just for practicing and tracking they’re prefect.
Great all round package for a closed back. I sold my sennheiser 58x because of the dt770 80 ohm. I can add that the creative play 3 pairs amazingly well with the dt770. For 15 bucks it’s a no brainer.
Question. i am looking for a headphone with Minimal Bleed, main use will be for tracking vocals. I have a pair of 7506 and they bleed too much. *Are the 770s better in that regard?*
You probably would have been fine with the 80 ohm. They aren’t that hard to drive, just slightly more than an average set of 32 ohm headphones meant for listening on a phone or whatever. Pretty much anything will sound better with a proper headphone amp, but it would definitely work
A very nicely done review...straight to the point...I'm planning to buy one, would you recommend these (80ohms) or some other pair for watching movies where clear vocals is the utmost requirement without having to crank up the volume too high and/ or focusing too hard? Would I require a headphone amplifier to drive these or should I go for the 32 ohm version?
@@aditya50499 if all you care about is vocals then you'll want something more mid range focused like a Sennheiser hd600 series headphone, since that's the part of the frequency spectrum where voices live
@@squidwardstesticles5914 yeah, vocals are pivotal, but, having some base would not hurt as long as it's not spoiling the mids... the 600 series would be hard to drive without a headphone amp...560S should be worth considering?
Can i just plug them in my pc or do i need a audio interface if yes wich one would you recommend under 50$ ?(yes i know im a complete noob when talking about audio)
The 80 ohm will probably be fine in terms of loudness with just plugging into your PC, but the better dac/amp included in an audio interface will be beneficial when using these headphones.
The 80 ohm ones are fine off of a pc, but you should probably get an amp because pretty much everything will sound better with one and you might need it for quieter music. Btw, audio interfaces are for using microphones and things like that, I’m pretty sure you’re just talking about an amp. A decent usb powered dac/amp is all you need for something like this. I don’t have any recommendations because I haven’t bought an amp in years so idk what’s good rn, but I hope I at least gave you a decent starting point to do some research
rickert ik, I have an interface that I use for connecting my guitars to my computer and it has a headphone amp. But most people don’t need one because they just use usb or 3.5mm microphones running straight into their computer for voice chat and that’s about it. It makes more sense in that case to just get a dedicated headphone amp because it’ll usually be cheaper, and a lot of the time interface amps are pretty weak so you’d get a better amp for less money. The amp in my interface is about half as powerful as a usb powered dac/amp I have that was a little over half the price

Should I get dt770 80Ohms or ath-msr7b? Interesting that some recommend 250ohms over 80Ohms for tamer treble but I guess the comparison between old and new pads explains it!
I love these cans.. only problem. not detachable cable. renders the cans useless when they break, wire or the trs plug.. mini-xlr's are in most of the new cans, BD DT700 Pro X are already set up with the mini XLR detachable cable port.. (i just found your repair video... going to try it.. if I mess them up, then they are still defunct and unusable.. but lets see how steady my soldering hand is)... thank you for that modification video.. awesome.
Ever since I started using sonarworks reference profile on them they sound absolutely amazing. Paired with calibrated genelec 8050s they sound very close to identical it's almost crazy.
@@attawa3339 cheap really depends on your particular budget and what you need to drive, but I would recommend somethings like the fiio Q1, dragonquest usb dacs, etc...
Everyone talking bout amps. Bro, get a good soundcard (Native etc.). Better sound overall and can drive up to 600Ohms and relief your laptop from the soundprocessing.
I have the Sennheiser HD-25's for DJ'ing and I can't fault them for that if I'm honest - they also are a bit of the industry standard for this. These aren't a typical DJ headphone so to speak so just something to be aware of
Hello Mr, I want to buy the 80 ohms byro dynamic headphones and use it for mobile devices without an amp, do you think it will still sound beautiful and loud?
Hi, i kinda want to buy those but i generally dislike the "anechoic chamber" effect from closed back headphones, where you're completely isolated from the sounds around you. Some closed backs i have have this effect and after a few hours its really annoying, do those headphones do that as well or is the passive noise cancellation low? I also have the choice to buy the 990 pros but them being opened backs might cause too much leak noises to be catched up by my mic, do you think that would be an issue?
How do you equalize? Are you using a computer? Is there a way to global parametrically equalize on an android phone? I am thinking of getting this since AKG 371 is not available in my country. The DT 770 costs $200 US here compared to $150 in the US. Thanks
Great thanks. What's the difference between the DT 770 Pro, and the DT 770 ? I see some that do not include the "Pro" in the name or on the side of the headphone. Any difference?
From what I've heard there is no difference. They have at different times had the pro name on and other times not they also make them with a badge that says "DT 770 STUDIO" but its the same headphone with a different badge, I have no idea why. europe.beyerdynamic.com/dt-770-studio-80-ohms.html

everyone saying if you want to plug into phone or laptop for music listening go for 32 ohms but my question is ..is 32 ohm version good for MUSIC PRODUCTION?
In Australia, the Cals cost 100aud, the DT770 80 cost 240 and the AKG K371 go for 300 aud... seeing that you seem to put all of them in the same bucket.. is the price difference between those three justified?
Ouch, thats some crazy price differences, its no where near that much in the UK at least. The biggest price jump is between the CAL at about £60 and the DT770/K371 which are about £100 now. The CAL is great but very cheap and plasticky feeling, so in terms of build not in the same league as the 770, but in terms of sound, well a lot of people will tell you its the best you can get for that price.
@@WheezyTech Indeed, I've owned the CALs for years and, while I love them, they literally disintegrate over time, there is more tape than headphone on my head right now. Tha's something I was trying to avoid for my next purchase, but I don't want to spend double the price for something that's ultimately not going to be a significant sound quality upgrade. I was debating whether I should get the DT770 or the K371, or just get a cheaper Coolermaster MH752 as functional closed backs for when we need isolation (my girlfriend needs a headset for teaching online) and then invest in proper open headphones for general purpose (movies, immersive, non-competitive gaming, music, etc), though that would add a lot of extra homework for me to research open options ^^
Hi folks! I am in the prosess of desiding on gear for my first home studio ish setup. Mainly to have the possibility to record guitar and vocal, but also getting a midi keyboard to learn to make beats and music. And want to learn to mix and make my music sound great! So when it comes to headphones I am thinking about the dt770 250ohm or 80 ohm. My impression after watching many videoes on youtube is that the 250 ohm is better for mixing because it's easyer to separate de different sounds and frequencies, any opinions on this? I will not get monitors to start with, just one pair of headphones. And thinking about the presonus studio 24c interface. So if I get the 250 ohm's I might need an ekstra headphone amp right? But might be worth it to get a good set of headphones and enough sound? Would appriciate som opinions on this, thaks!
Pads... I have got some more pads from Aliexpress and the sounds changes dramatically. I settled on this pair of pleather pads with memory foam and gel tops. I cut some cardboard rings spacers and inserted them in the pads. I stopped sounding muffled, the highs weren't piercing anymore but the bass seems slightly rolled off but that's absolutely fine. My DT770s are still bassy enough and now they are incredibly comfortable.
They don't make an 80 Ohm version with a coiled cable but you can buy the coiled cable and swap it over, you need to be able to solder to do it. Or you can do the removable cable mod th-cam.com/video/DtcbfdyHWvY/w-d-xo.html
Mine sound good in my focusrite but I just bought an amp anyways to see what changes, plus I can try more headphones now and it just looks cool lmao........did you buy them?
SeeD just picked up the amp yesterday, gonna try to hook it up tomorrow I’ll let you know, if you don’t hear from me in a few days, remind me. I also just bought the akg k371 headphones and they sound amazing. I bought those to have something that would be powered easier for my iPad and phone, 32 ohms, I love both of these headphones but I thing the DTs are going to be great with the amp I’ll let you know. They sound really good though just through my Scarlett 2i4, I just think they should be a little more powerful. These two headphones sound super clear and open to me, yet tight, I’m hooked on this sound, tried some V Moda L2 things the other day, geezus so much bass and no clarity in the rest, certainly for bass heads and ppl how don’t care for all the details.
Tim Flipkens yeah so I returned the sterling 4 channel amp because it seemed weak, and the connectivity seemed off.......so I got the Mackie HM-400 amp, it’s big, but looks cool on the desk, has 4 channels and you can adjust bass, treble, and mute each ear at a time if wanted, and tons of connections.............you must be carefull not to blow your ears out, with volume on the interface, and the amp, and the amp headphone channel, you could easily kill yourself. Made the AKGs sound incredible and the DT 770 80 ohms sound great, I’m going to mess with them again tomorrow, hit me up again in a couple days. I really wanna try the 32 ohms. The 80ohms certainly are not to color up the bass and such, very flat and clear to me, bright, shimmery maybe, on that mackie amp though you can pump in the bass if just listening for pleasure. Nice to have multiple headphones with different outputs. I love the 80 ohms but catch myself wanting more bass sometimes, but remind myself these are not meant for blown out bass, clarity is what these are for I believe. They pick up little sounds you never hear. Amp certainly helped. Hit me up in a few days.

old comment but same. before I switched to linux I used to use my headphones with sonarworks to 'flatten' the sound, but since then Ive just been listening without EQ. And I love it!! they sound so crisp and a wonderful stereo image
Germans would know about gothic metal lol doesnt surprize me if their headphones just happen to match their music as well.
Based on multiple measurements I've seen, it looks like the 250 ohm version is more v-shaped. The 80 ohm looks more balanced. Not sure why the opposite has been getting repeated for so long.
Dang man, you deserve more subs. Keep it up bro!
Thanks man
Thanks for the review. I think you may have convinced me to get a DT 770. :D
@Has Goodles hi there! Can I ask you what is your audio interface/amp to plug in your DT 770 PRO 80Oohm headphones? I have the Focusrite 2i2 second gen, and I have to turn up the volume min. 65~70% to be at the level I feel comfortable with. Thanks

K371
Can i plug it directly on my pc though ? (In a jack)
@@niraii9070 You can, but the volume will be low with these being 80ohm's. You'll want a mini headphone amp, or get the lowwer Ohm version.

So the 250 ohm version isn't actually more resolving, it just has more present/extended treble, correct? My curiosity has got the better of me. I love the 80 ohm version I just got, but I can't help but want to try the 250 for improved sound.

I have a 2i2 too and I couldnt decide between the 80 and 250 version, i will use them for recording, production, and general purpose (music, films, games etc). I have heard that the 250 needs 100% monitor volume and it might be still be quieter than wanted, is that the case?
Thanks for the info! I prefer open backs (hd590) but am buying a pair of closed backs this winter and this video helped me a lot!!
DT770 pro 80 ohm without an amp. Will it able to be driven by mobile phones and laptop without audio interface
Would you recommend these better than the AKG K371?
Thanks for sharing your opinion, picking up an 80 ohm set to replace my dying m50x's for general use.
(Yes, I used new pads for the comparison)
To your point, this may be up to unit variance. Who knows.
Can I mix with this ?...
Nice video Bro - Thx for the feedback with the DT 770's
Do I Need a amp for the 80ohm version
I am looking for a smaller, cheaper but good amplifier/dac for the Beyerdynamics DT 770 pro 80 ohm. I have very little knowledge about this and can use all the help choosing the right product.
I want to use this with an LG CX television. Is it possible to connect an amplifier to this television via optical, USB or 3.5 mm cable? And would this just work well with these headphones? If so, do you have any recommendations or can you recommend some products?
Thanks in advance
What headset would you choose for vinyl listening? These one or the Beats Studio3 Wireless?
That is exactly what the 770 is good for

I picked up a set of these cans years ago but, as I found out in an odd fashion, I have a larger head than average head. Something to keep in mind if you find these amazing headsets a bit too tight when you first get then.

@Wheezy Tech How are you powering yours 250ohm version? What you describe sounds to me like an under power issue. If you are using that Focusrite on the background that won't be enough to drive the 250ohm up to it's maximum potential. This being said I also own the 80ohm.

Which impedance-version would you recommend for plugging into guitar amp and mixing and recording music through an interface?
I'm looking at either getting these, the 250 ohm or the audio technica ath mx50's using them on a boss katana MK2 which would you recommend?
Do you think the new cheap akg k361 sounds better than these?

Yeah I think once I've done the cable mod on the 80 Ohm, my old 250 Ohm is being retired

Ik this is a late response so idk how useful this’ll be, but they’re great for that. I bought mine for monitoring my guitar and they’re awesome. That’s pretty much what they’re made for actually. They’re very comfortable so you can wear them as long as you want, and they have a nice tight clamp so you can move around in them without worrying about them falling off. The 80 ohm version is actually pretty easy to drive so you don’t need to worry about having enough power for them. I’d want something more neutral for mixing, but just for practicing and tracking they’re prefect.

Which would be good for recording metal ?? 80 or 250??

Hi, i kinda want to buy those but i generally dislike the "anechoic chamber" effect from closed back headphones, where you're completely isolated from the sounds around you. Some closed backs i have have this effect and after a few hours its really annoying, do those headphones do that as well or is the passive noise cancellation low?
I also have the choice to buy the 990 pros but them being opened backs might cause too much leak noises to be catched up by my mic, do you think that would be an issue?

iam a voice over, i have a "presonus studio 24c audio interface" and i wanna use this headphones for video explainer recording & documentary, so which one is better to use for this type of works, "the BEYERDYNAMIC DT 770 PRO-80ohm version" or "the 250ohm version".
I game on pc and stream. I've tried so called gaming headset from astro and arctis but they mostly suck. Should I try these? Don't have an Amp or anything like that
If you buy these you will feel like you went from some cheap supermarket earbuds to these lol.
everyone saying if you want to plug into phone or laptop for music listening go for 32 ohms but my question is ..is 32 ohm version good for MUSIC PRODUCTION?
Will the 80ohm model work with a phone?
No, go for the 32 ohm version
All work, even the 250Ohms, but the sound volume will be lower.
An the Audio Quality of course.
Do I need a dac/amp to run the 80 Ohm version on my pc
yeah
I use the 250 ohm on my pc, volume is fine too
In Australia, the Cals cost 100aud, the DT770 80 cost 240 and the AKG K371 go for 300 aud... seeing that you seem to put all of them in the same bucket.. is the price difference between those three justified?
Can I get a coiled cable for the 80 Ohm version?
They don't make an 80 Ohm version with a coiled cable but you can buy the coiled cable and swap it over, you need to be able to solder to do it. Or you can do the removable cable mod th-cam.com/video/DtcbfdyHWvY/w-d-xo.html
Do they work plugged directly in the Focusrite or you need an amp to use them? I am referring to the 80 ohms version.
So I've heard you can use the 80 ohms version plugged directly into a laptop without an amp. I assume this means you can use it with a Focusrite.
Mine sound good in my focusrite but I just bought an amp anyways to see what changes, plus I can try more headphones now and it just looks cool lmao........did you buy them?
@@jdssurf Any difference when you use the amp? I did not buy them, I am in between 770 and 990
SeeD just picked up the amp yesterday, gonna try to hook it up tomorrow I’ll let you know, if you don’t hear from me in a few days, remind me.
Hit me up in a few days.
what camera you use ?
Great review man! Really detailed and useful, I was looking for the right version of the 770 for me and I think I'll go for the 80 Ohm. Anyway, which IEMs are you wearing? I can't recognize them.
The IEMs are the TRN v90 which I will be reviewing soon, spolier alert, they arent too bad
@@WheezyTech thanks! I have them too, actually pretty nice, I agree
Which headphones do you recommend under 200 USD now?
