Day 20 Suboxone Detox (Im OK!)

  • In my 1st video that was made on Day 4 of my detox from 7 years of suboxone maintainence (6mg/day) I mentioned and wrote that I intended to make a video every day. While that was my honest intention, I simply didn't have the energy nor motivation.
    This video is made on day 20 of my detox and I am OK! Very much so...Certainly not 100%, but very much over the hump.
    I hope this video brings someone some hope.

      Pat Fenis732 I feel bad for you... so I will try and be a light untoo your life quickly- just so on your personal day of judgement you will never be able to say nobody told you. There is a GOD, his name is Jesus Christ- he is real, he came to earth as man and tried to give us important messages in the scripture, maybe just go look up some of what he taught about to start, than you can take it from there. The Bible is the most historically accurate book ever written and not one single thing has ever been a contraindication- study the scriptures for yourself, or be the devils little spokesmen without even knowing it... your call. God bless you and your family hunn..

    Just wanted to stop and say THANK YOU. This is %1000 a mental and spiritual process. I’m on day 12 and can tell a world of a difference. While yes it has been hell for me, I feel it has affected those around me more than anything. The depression and sympathy is high but the will to keep going is not going away. Lack of sleep and ability to get comfortable due to muscle pain is where it’s the roughest. Your videos have gotten me through a lot and I just wanted to say thanks. You don’t know me but you’ve touched me from miles away and have made a huge impact in helping me get through this process. I’m not huge on religion but I encourage anyone trying to just be open to it, even just the thought.

    Hang in there, it looks like the worst may be over. I've been on it for 12 years. Tried quitting a few times but when the exhaustion and inability to sleep well was still not getting better after 30 then couldn't take it anymore. Started on 16mg then got down to 8 five years ago. Now down to 1mg a day and hopefully ill be off for good within couple of months. New patients should be told about the problems they'll face down the road and should taper off quickly and not be kept on it for more than a year. Good luck!

      Stevee D Hey man....Really glad you found my video. I need to tell you that last night...for the 1st time I SLEPT!!
      3 hours, then a bathroom trip, then another 3 hours, then another...
      AND I didnt sweat out my sheets.
      I dont want to get too excited about this, but this has been an incredible milestone for me.
      Not only did I sleep, but I do not remember tossing and turning each time after waking...It was like head down, lights out, DONE...Like a normal person!!
      I hope this give you some hope. My gut feeling is that perhaps you jumped at too high a dose wheb you tried the 1st time OR you had too much stress in your life at the time.
      I know that once you get down low enough, and have mentally and spiritually prepared yourself, YOU WILL DO IT

      Goodbye Suboxone: the mental aspect plays a huge part because it's not just a physical addiction it's also psychological so part of the plan to go off has to be mentally preparing yourself and believing you can do it. I look forward to having a clear mind. Thanks for your reply, I look forward to your future clips.

    • @sputxx
      @sputxx 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Goodbye Suboxone: by the way, my shrink actually mentionned a couple of times that I might want to stay on low dose of 1mg indefinitely because it's been found to help with depression. (I have chronic depression). and to make things worse he put me on methylphenidate to help with low energy. But at least there's no physical dependency with that.

    • @goodbyesuboxone4263

      Stevee D My take and experience is that only you can decide whether or not to stay on or get off completely. Nobody can tell you what is "right" for you.
      For me, I never planned my detox. All my circumstances came together in a bit of synchronicity which opened my mind up to the idea and eventually the decision...Once I made the decision, I never looked back. Your moment of synchronicity WILL COME.

    Just wanted to say, thank you, I'm 25 and I've been on and off heroin and suboxone, and blues for 10 years. I've been consistently on sub for a couple of years now. What some people don't know is metabolism has a lot to do with the duration of withdrawals and how quickly they come on. I'm about 5'10 150Ibs and drugs get out of my system super quick, so I was in full withdrawal around 40 hours in or so. I'm on day 3 was down to taking about a 1/4 of an 8.7 zubsolv every day, last night was super rough absolutely no sleep, assume tonight will be mostly the same. But I will get through this!

    Lovely to see a positive video about coming off subutex. I'm currently doing the same I was put on it in August, then a few weeks ago I was told by my prescriber that there taking me off it (I wanted to come off but no where near as fast as there bringing me down) I was on 18mg but not stable,then I was brought down to 16mg the next week 14mg then the withdrawal symptoms got bad. I asked for the taper to be slowed down, or some meds to help they said we will help we will speed it up to 4mg a week to get it over with! I asked them not to but they did anyway. I'm currently on 6mgI'm having bad symptoms, very little sleep, constantly yawning eyes watering,nose running,aching legs and back, anxiety, nausea,no appetite, stomach cramps that are agony , allways cold,and feeling weak and no energy. My drug service after a family member complained to them how ill I was have agreed to let me stay on 6mg over Christmas but then back to drops 2mg a week untill I hit 2mg then nothing. I asked could I go lower than 2mg but was told no as it wouldn't make a difference (I disagree) they've also told me I'm proloning my withdrawell symptoms and making it worse for myself by staying on 6mg over Xmas (again I disagree,I think I'm giving my body chance to catch up!) What's your opinion on it? Should I jump at 6mg like they said (mind you these are the same people who told me it's like mild flu and won't last more than 2 weeks and then I'll be fine) or should I taper? Thank you so much!

      To taper down from 16 mg should take many months. I think the rule is only go down by 10% each time & only if you aren't already having strong withdrawal symptoms. You're right about your body needing time to adjust.

    • @fancyjosh111
      @fancyjosh111 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If NOTHING else is taken from this, make them give you the 2 mg strips, that way you have access to going lower than 2 mgs. Cutting the 8s into fractional pieces can be difficult in dosing and it's just better to have the 2 mg strips. Trust me, you will be happy you did. You can also try to find a "connect" for them, as that's some bullshit and doctors do not always know what is best. But then again neither do I. You'll know what you need more than I or even a doctor will. There is no shame in "doctor shopping" or buying these things off the street as I did 8 YEARS of heroin IV use, and I can confirm suboxone produces the same withdrawal effects. Just longer. I urge you to accept these feelings. As they are coming. They are as bad or as good as you decide to make it. Over the counter medication help barely imodium is a life saver, it activates gastrointestinal opoid receptors AND because they do not cross the blood brain barrier they will not give the dreaded precipitated withdrawals. If you need anything, ask. I have years of experience on this subject :p

    Yes, thank you for this. I watch them over and over just for motivation. I’m on day 12 and finally feeling partiality better. Can’t sleep, toss and turn, maybe get an hour or few hours per Night, but better than when I couldn’t on days 6-10. I’ve eaten at least a couple fruits a day cause that’s all I was able to eat in the beginning when I chewed 100 times to swallow. Finally getting a small appetite days 10-12. My withdrawals didn’t hit me till day 5 because I was taking 3 8-mil Buprenorphine pills per day all in half’s. I’ve been pounding water after water. Also what I think helps me at least, CBD gummies to take a very small edge off even tho I don’t smoke weed, and lots of showers, walking around as much as I can even tho no motiv or desire to want to do a thing. Fortunately in the same situation as you my wife works, it’s Covid and not working and I’m tired of being in that loop with doctors and pharmacy’s ripping me off. Anyways, I really appreciate this video. Do you have any other people you related to and watched? I’m not sure if you’re responding to these but JW. Thanks again. It’s hard for sure, but doable if you really really want to. I stopped from this dosage to 0 cold turkey.

Ive been on about a mg a day for 2 weeks took .75 today was planning on using my last strips 8 mg at .5 for 8 days .25 for 8 days then .125 for 8 days then hopping but im terrified of the wd...is it bad or will it be tolerable?

    • @goodbyesuboxone4263
      @goodbyesuboxone4263  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cory Shields Hey there friend. Let me start by telling you there is nothing to fear but fear itself. Reserve that kind of fear for the unknown...This is so very tolerable. But the person must be ready and without reservation about what they are doing. If you truley believe that now is your time to jump, then you will be fine. I did not really taper. I got down from 8mg/day to 2mg/day over the course of 4-6 weeks. Based on my short "taper" there are many who would have told me I would experience hell...that the depression would be crushing and could last years...or forever!
      Well 136 days later I can tell you that just isn't so. I am happy, healthy, full of laughs, sleep 8 hours a night without issue, and have a great sex drive. Remember, it IS the fear that makes this so much harder. Fear not!

    I'm tapering Subutex, started at 16 mg for about 7 years. i am tapering down 2 mg a week, down to 14 mg a day this week. Did you have anxiety attacks? I have Klonopin 0.5 mg that the psychiatrist gave me. He does not know I am tapering yet but said I could take Klonopin for my anxiety attacks which I also want to get off. Just wondering if you had anxiety and what what did you do for it?

      Yeah you wanna get off that benzo my friend. Clonidine is a safer choice for the anxiety and it's not euphoric.

    I started taking subs because I was taking opiates for a couple years and some sold me a fake 30 that was straight fent luckily I only took a half and it almost killed me. I’ve been off subs for 8 days now feeling ok just can’t sleep and dreading going back to work Monday. I work in a freezer for 10 hours a day it’s going to be rough

    I dont know how much vitamin c you are taking but I do know excess amounts can also cause diarrhea. When I watched your day 4 I was thinking dude the withdrawal hasn't even started yet. It usually takes me roughly 5 days off Suboxone before "real" withdrawal starts.

      @Marcus Ralius Reeder to be honest it took a while not with the sickness but with the anxiety I found my self saying to myself omg how am I going to get through this day and my heart would start pounding and there was this dude his name was Joey and he could see it in my face what I was going through and he said to me that these feelings I’m having are coming in waves you’ll feel like shit for 10 minutes and then it goes away for an hour then the wave hits again but just remember it’s going to go away

    hey! you mention not getting much sleep & insomnia being your worst symptom, but never said how many hours a night you were sleeping around that time.. do you happen to remember (roughly)?

    • @goodbyesuboxone4263
      @goodbyesuboxone4263  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Alexandra K Between days 5-30 sleep was touch and go. There were many nights where I did not sleep at all. Other nights I would get about 1-2 hours, wake up for 3 hours and watch youtube, then sleep 1 more hour. Falling asleep is a struggle. Your mind won't shut off even though your body is exhausted. Yes, it sucks, BUT my sleep got much better after day 30 or so, and has been 100% normal since day 50 I think. You will reach a breaking point with frustration but you must trust the process. It will get better.

      Linda Rodriguez Hey there! How’s it going Linda?

    • @fancyjosh111
      @fancyjosh111 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Linda were on in the same, 12 mg suboxone, 2, 2mg xanax daily 2 years (thanks doc) he really cured our addictions huh? From my experience. And this is just me lose the benzodiazepines first. They're "harder" to come off of, mostly it's the seizure risk. Suboxone helps in coming off the benzos barely but once you're over that. The suboxone will be pretty easy. I'm having rebound anxiety and post acute withdrawal symptoms that literally make me think I am going to die. My heart jumps I'll get the brain zaps and seizure feeling (light headed electrical pulses from my neck deep into the brain) but mostly it's the heart attack feeling. I get flush red faced hot burning sweating and spiked heart rates. I've thought I was going to die in 5 minute intervals for the first like month. Straight with no let up. I HAD to taper the benzos. That was not an option for me. I tapered both medications at once. It may be best to start off this way but I wouldn't "jump off" both at once like I did.

    What’s up bro I hope you’re doing good. I got encouragement from you on day 3 when I was feeling so bad and alone. I’m on day 8 and I feel amazing!!! No anything mental just sleep and some stomach pains but I laugh at those compared to sweating and sneezing and anxiety from the first week lol. I’m a chemical engineer and just got a new great job after searching for months. It’s like my life gets so much better each day. I cry like a girl sometimes now from all the new emotions but I love it. I drive and listen to music like it’s the first time I’ve done it. I would suggest to people that using a sauna in conjunction with vitamins, water+amino acids, and mental supplements sped this up so much for me. Thanks for the inspiration. I truly needed it. I’m a new man that gets better each day. I get angry when I get cravings. I’ll never go back! Good luck😎

      tyler brown Thats all great to hear friend. I often wonder what my experience would have been had I never researched he subject of suboxone detox...had I never read a single horror story. So much of what we go through (anxiety in particular) is born out of our own anticipation. If a person can find a way to stay very objective ("I am doing this for a great reason, and I WILL get better over time") and try to stay focused on that it really helps. Its when we get caught up in the moment, thinking about how bad we feel right that second that things spiral out of control. Please keep checking in. So happy for you and congrats on the job.

      I’ll keep ya updated. One quick question... did you experience some sweating. I thought I was over it but like in the evenings I’ll sweat bad on my chest and back and I’m it’s 25 degrees right now where I live so when I walk outside it’s so cold. If you had sweating did it stop after a month or so?

    • @goodbyesuboxone4263
