  • If you're thinking about going on one of these opiate maintenance medications, (think again!) & WATCH THIS VIDEO FIRST. Here's a piece of my story of a decade long battle with them, and the aftermath I am dealing with(3 years sober!!!). This is no joke, and I encourage people to PLEASE comment below with your struggles. Is there anyone else hooked on these nightmare drugs, dying to get off but can't?? Please-reach out here. Talk to me. The struggle is real, I know! I fought tooth and nail trying to wean myself off, using heroin and other drugs in place of these, but always coming back because the detox never seemed to go away. Now I'm 3 years clean and I cannot figure out why my body is ERUPTING from the inside OUT. I've tried just about every acne cure known to man-and I'm left to wonder if the cause is from these medications I took for so many years that are purging from my bones through the surface of my skin. I've been told it's 2-3 years for alcohol to purge the body after long time use, and 3-5 years for drugs. This video had a pretty good filter I wasn't aware of so do not be fooled-i have WELTS all over my face and body, that will not go away no matter what I put on them or supplement I take (for my liver/or to speed up detoxification). It's a process I have had to make peace with, that is going to take the time it will take. But if I can educate anyone else along the way, then it was all worthwhile. I hope this helps anyone else struggling /or maybe you know someone who is still on this and can't get off? Please get in touch with me if you need to. I'm here to help in any way I can. Please read my blog I’ve just started too at
www.3rdeyeaddict.com !! Come along on this journey!!! I’m gonna be sharing my story on subs, the solutions I’ve found along the way and SOOO much more-like how our Chakras directly correspond to addiction, which chakras affect which parts of our life and how if u have a BLOCK in one of them (or MANY usually) then you’re gonna be experiencing all SORTS of crazy issues even affecting your ability to earn money and have a healthy relationship! Sooo interesting how things from our childhood get lodged in our chakras messing up SO much in our bodies, or even affecting how we can’t get sober!!! It’s all true and VERY mysterious, but it doesn’t have to be a mystery!!! Come along and learn with me. I SO WISH we were taught these things early on, but I’m trying to spread awareness and contribute to helping our society be more open to these things, that this is ACTUALLY WHATS HAPPENING TO OUR BODIES!! U don’t need to see a million Dr’s who only tell u “nothing’s wrong you’re crazy just stop using drugs wtf”🤷🏼‍♂️ !!🙇🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️no more suffering in agonizing frustration any longer, you can get proactive and learn what’s going on in your body! I’ve just started it so bare with me, SO MUCH MORE TO COME ! So please follow me on
    www.3rdeyeaddict.com !!!
I am so excited about this blog! 👏🏽👏🏽👍🏼✨ Please comment there too and ask your questions, or u can ALWAYS email me at cindeejaycmt@gmail.com and follow my story on IG @cindyseuss ☺️☺️☺️ Together we can get free of what’s holding us prisoner, sometimes we just need a good look inside ourselves🤓👁🙌🏽and of course some help from someone who’s been there too♥️ xo thanks u guys! 💟 IG @cindysuess 🌀🌀

      Ask Miname
Methadone has been around a LOT longer that 15years. The new fad of (eating clean)natural living, sugar/gluten free,Keto etc.has people feeling great and healthy which is great don’t get me wrong I’m happy for them but they tend to assume it’s somehow just the gluten in their favorite foods like cereals or pizza. If you stop eating those things because of 1 ingredient and feel better I’m pretty sure It’s not just that 1 thing that was in said food. Like everyone who’s stops having a sugar diet so therefore stops the ice cream, candy, chocolate soda ...... ya of course it’s the sugar but it’s also ALL the other things in each of them like EVERY single other ingredient. But I’m getting off point. My point is that if you feel your body is all of a sudden starting to react to something you stopped year(S) ago but just started something different than you’ve ever done 1year ago then you got to look into maybe a mixture of both of if your taking the natural toxins out is probably what is going to run its course. I hope everything works out for you! Congratulations on your sobriety. I feel ya with the horror of addiction and what it does to you and your body but it is possible that other things can cause damage even if it’s something you’re not stealing for to shoot up everyday.

I totally agree with the nurse that left a comment. I am 45 started using heroin at 25 , 20 yr addiction. Have been on methadone and successfully came off properly. Then started using again, next time round went on suboxone it saved my life, you cannot use on it. You are incorrect, methadone gets in ur bones suboxone does not !
I have been 5yrs clean now , off EVERYTHING suboxone included. Suboxone is so much easier to reduce and come off than methadone, if done CORRECTLY. It must be a gradual titration.
Please stop using your scare techniques to discourage addicts from going on the program.
This may be your experience however the majority of people who choose suboxone are successful.

I've been on Suboxone for 3 yrs now, had tapered down to 1/4 every 3 to 4 days but than I had a relapse so I returned to the Dr and they put me on a dose that I feel comfortable with at the moment.
But yes I went through the same thing with hairloss only it wasn't Suboxone causing it it was my thyroid. I had the same problem back years ago so when it happened I kinda knew what it could possibly be so I went and got my thyroid rechecked and that's what it was.
Back to Suboxone yes if you follow the program it can be a life saving program but you've got to do what your supposed to and it will work. The thing is you've got to realize your triggers and try to avoid them. I don't know where I would be today if it wasn't for Suboxone. But what people need to realize what works for one person doesn't necessarily mean it work for the next person, everyone is different and what works for them is different.

You can do this! I am 38 now and my sobriety date is 01 15 14, which means my 4 anniversary is fast approaching. I suffered acne, hair loss, weight gain, constipation among a host of other ailements while on methadone and while weaning off of methadone, I hated me. Relief will come. It has taken me 38 years, yet it happened. I finally found me and I loved me. I forgave myself and I realized I was happy for the first time in 38 years and I could do this by just being me. What you are going through is is all part of the process, all apart of your awakening, it is often the loneliest part as you shift from 3rd dimensional thinking to 4th dimensional thinking. You can do this, it is inside of you and has been all along. In the meantime though and in addition to meditation ot crystal healing or whatever you choose to use as an aid(s) in your transition, commercial products that I found helped are: Acidophilus (the refrigerator brands beat out all the others), since the medication messes with our hormone levels leading to acne, hair loss, irregular menstrual cycles, etc., "Lorne Vanderhaeghe" Estrosmart Plus, for a bit of applied self-confidence, 'Make Up For Ever' concealer (virtually sweat-proof), "Bare Minerals" Blemish Remedy foundation, "Indeed" Hydraluron and Retinol Reface (less than $25 each ), a 'Verilux' happy light to stimulate production of Vitamin D, fluids, fruit smoothies, fluids, and more fruit smoothies, and since digestion is tied to our mental health it really does improve 100% when we realize how perfect we are, however, " Microlax" works for the rough days without being too intrusive. I know no one thing is right for everyone, however, maybe one thing may be right for two. Wishing you the best of moments on your journey. All the answers are inside of you, inside of everyone. We all just have to admit we know absolutely nothing first, accept that we know nothing, then begin again with our realized knowledge that we all matter, I matter, you matter. And that true happiness is only realized after experiencing complete and utter despair, as one cannot exisit without the other. Keep taking care of you! You are perfectly perfect just as you are! You got this!

Ok everybody- coming off of suboxone is different for everybody. Everyone's entitled to sharing their experiences, but it's people saying stuff like "coming off dope is way easier than suboxone- I felt like I was on fire for 3 months" that kept me from jumping off. I was on suboxone for 3 years and I jumped off 3 months ago. The key here is tapering off properly, and if you do do that it's a mother F****ing walk in the park compared to coming off dope. I got chills now and then, and some stomach issues but the depression and wanting to literally throw myself off a balcony wasn't there. Maybe it was different for me, but these horror stories gotta stop. Spread positivity! We are all strong enough to get through it- we just have to be smart about it and stay positive as much as possible in a shitty situation. Your mindset and positive thinking will make all the difference. Peace!

I agree it's a lot. "Long term maintenance" is the name of the game these days and you can decide whether to go up or down yourself- that's how it is in Canada anyway. That was the highest I could be at without going to methadone, and near the end it wasn't near as effective if at all because my body had gotten so used to it.

I agree! I've been through what she has and also have a thyroid problem. I'm hypothyroid, but I also believe that I have hashimotos thyroiditis (autoimmune disease) and hormonal issues. I've had acne since I was 11 and I'm now 29. I've done the AIP diet (started to help, but was too difficult ($)to continue doing. Working on cutting gluten, dairy, and sugar again. I'm on levothyroxine and widh I could afford to see a functional medicine doctor and be on a bioidentical medicine. I wonder if suboxone and subutex actually leads to thyroid problems. Something I will certainly research.

Yesssss that’s what I thought! Doing drugs deff burns out the thyroid. Doctors misdiagnose thyroid disease so often. I was misdiagnosed for 7 years I felt like a walking zombie until I finally was like enough and did my own reasearch about it. The doctors had me on so many different meds that none of them even really made a difference. I did my own research ordered my own meds and now I feel like an actual human. I have never felt better. Lost weight got in shape and few amazing now. Crazy such a small organ can cause such havoc on the body!

Levothyroxine is one of the cheapest medications out there and can correct both hypo- and hyperthyroidism, she just needs some simple blood work to determine whether it’s an issue.

The only thing that helped and eventually cured the cysts was a medication called Luxiq for lupus patients, prescription strength benzoyl peroxide topical cream and a retinol cream used together. Couldn't go in the sun for 6 months but it worked well. The Luxiq worked immediately. I was like you- cried all the time, didn't want to leave my house and saw every single doctor in my state. First and foremost, congratulations on your sobriety. I think everyone’s body chemistry is different. I’ve been on methadone for 28 years and I’m 60 years old. If anything, my hair is thicker now than when I was in my 20’s. I don’t have acne or skin problems. I have had constipation issues with it but everyone does because it’s made to do that. I’ve been around hundreds if not thousands of people through my 28 years of this and have never seen anyone with the type of problems you’re having. I study this med closely because of my age. It sounds almost hormonal with the problems that you’re facing. This is an old post but it hit home and had to comment.

@@travissoff9521, I know that Methadone has helped me tremendously. I’m able to function in society and in my family unit. But Methadone helps me in 2 ways. It helps me stay away from the pills and plus it kills my pain. I’m a retired Bull Rider and have broken many bones and been beat to a pulp by them damn Bulls. Subs wouldn’t help me for that. Everyone is different when it comes to chemicals in the body. If you think you would start using again then you should stay on something like Subs or Methadone. I don’t know what your drug of choice was but it’s not worth going back to it. Try Methadone and see if it helps you more. People give it a bad rap but I’m living proof that I’m enjoying life instead of hustling to get pills everyday. Whatever makes you feel like you’ve made a change for the better is all that matters. I have been on methodone for 5 years now. 3 years ago my skin changed and weight gain and hair loss. But I'm 46 years old and my periods are 8 months apart. I'm depressed and my skin is slowly getting better. My bones hurt every morning no sleep. I'm lowering my doses every month. I been lowering every month for a year now. It's 27mg now So this might be why I feel awful plus menopause is starting I'm not sure but my body is crashing hard. I was good at 50mg but my Dr is retiring and he is the only Dr doing methodone program in my town. A major sinus infectionfor a year and candida overgrowth my mouth and skin very weird. Soon as I started lowering my dose every month. Worse when it was weekly I could not continue and even went up10mg to start all over lowering. I stopped wearing makeup until my skin healed. Now I just don't want to wear it.

I begged my doctor I absolutely didn't want to do Suboxone anymore she gave me the least dose but warned me not to get off ..I called her a month later to tell her I was ready to jump off if she could give me clonidine or something to help me with the withdrawals she refused and told me I won't be able to go through the withdrawals....that alone made me rebel and jump off cold turkey. I went through 2 weeks long of acute withdrawals from Suboxone... insomnia, anxiety, tremors,cold/hot flashes, irritability, diarrhea, cramps, restlessness and absolutely no energy to do anything. A monthly later all withdrawals are gone except sleep deprivation and lack of motivation...it gets better though... good luck 🎉

I have been on methodone for 2 1/2 years I started at 60 mg and I’m down to 42. Some days the withdrawl is worse than others but I just tried to see the light at the end of the tunnel. And the thought of being completely off of it really scares me so I really wonder if I’m mentally ready to be off of it. My biggest problems are profuse and Constant sweating, and also the weight gain. I have put on about 70 pounds. Most of that was in the first six months to a year. And I also developed a sweet tooth. Nobody warned me about that part. For a while there I was eating ice cream all of the time. And I am not typically a sweet eater. I hope to get off of this and back to a normal life. I found out after-the-fact that getting off of the pills would’ve been easier than going through the methadone route. Hopefully someday. Because this shit is expensive too!!! And I very much appreciate you sharing your story. I do that as well whenever I am out and about. Since I’m always sweating a lot of people will make the comment about it being hot. I will say that’s not my problem. And if the Conversation is heading that way I will explain to them what I’m on and how I got on it and how I feel. I explain to them that I was taking pain pills for a legitimate reason it first and it got out of hand, and fast. If I can just save somebody from this hell I want to do it. I just want my normal life back. I really hope I get to a point where I’m not feeling crappy all of the time. I know I’m going to have some aches and pains because I am 45 years old, but just not the ones that you have from withdrawal

You'll be ok. Just take it super easy once u hit 20mg. No more than 1mg/wk decrease, that's what I recommend. And u can stay at 1mg as long as u wish! What I did was just skip my take-homes & only dosed when I started feeling withdrawals. Eventually you'll get to where ur confident to stop. Even if ur only dosing when u go in for take-homes.
You can either dump the ones u miss, our have the nurse dump then when u go in. Just make sure they're still sealed if u choose this route. And ask ur particular clinic if they have any policies related to skipped take-homes.
I was at 1mg for 3mnths before I stopped! No physical withdrawals! Like I said earlier, I had some anxiety & sleeplessness for a cpl wks, but prob cuz I already have anxiety. If I was taking my Welbutrin, prob woulda been fine :-)

Jaimie Jansen you got this baby! And even though I don't know you, I'm so proud of you, so so proud! My mom died of a herion overdose when she was only 41, and I was 21. My son battled this, and is going on 2 years clean. Unfortunately i have 2 sisters that can't break free, so i know from watching how hard it is. Everyday will be different, but everyday please remember life is so beautiful (even when is not) And u hope of have a full life filed with love, and hope!

Jaimie Jansen oh wow fantastic!! I started on 50 mg of methadone like 6 years ago. I am prescribed it for pain management though. I am starting to taper off now. I’m at 35 mg. And going down. It’s a very strong grip and hurts so badly without it. But I’m scared of what it is doing to my body and what if we have a Emergency situation and can’t get to the Pharmacy to fill or etc? I don’t want to be tied to this anymore. I think it has its place but they should definitely get people right back off it once they’re finished with the detox from heroine and such drugs. They leave people on it too long and it’s just as dicey using it for people like me for pain management. But the thing is there isn’t enough oxy or morphine around to help people with long term pain management cuz you just keep going up and up on your usage. So I chose to do methadone to control it and have the pain management. I wish I had never started. And yes I have lost atleast half of my hair. And gained twice my body weight!!!

It's a team headshops sales. I've abused it because it helps with opiate withdrawal. Its actually terrible for you my hair and teeth have gone to shit, and heaven knows what shape my liver and kidneys are in. People hide behind kratom saying its safe, they even did a Netflix show on it. It's not I've taken it for a long time and I'm seeing the effects. Congratulations on your sobriety! And I pray your body heals. I have been feeling just what your sharing and then I stumbled on this!!I was in denial that kratom was destroying my body because I'm an addict. Don't let their ignorance become your shame, you have nothing to be ashamed of! You are strong enough to get off that crazy ride, when most others can't. Your "weakness" is really your strength, you just have to convince yourself you aren't the one with a problem. I think I need to make a new video here -u guys have totally gone ape shit on some of these comments.. I'm just trying to help anyone suffering from adddiction as I WAS. If you don't like it-watch something else. Free country, freedom of speech too-- I am not a dr, pharmacist, or even someone claiming to be a nurse or have ANY MEDICAL background whatsoever... i'm just a drug addict in recovery that finally managed to break free of THE PRISON from the opiate maintenance program FROM HELL (I TOTALLY FEEL PAROLED!!!!) lol Only way for me was total abstinence. No "lowering my dose" or trying it with a benzo, or "only on weekends" LMAO 😂 this med is unforgiving and does not discriminate-(like any drug really) but my experience had me wishing I was dead on a continuous basis and I just wanted to be free from the prison and pain. If u have been on this longer than a year and find u can't get off---PLEASE DO NOT THINK THIS IS MERE COINCIDENCE U WATCHED THIS VIDEO...this is the road u are headed down if u stay on-it's so hard to get off this shit!!!!! I didn't care about my son , about my life- about ANYTHING but my drugs-- finally went to jail to have everything taken away to finally LEARN THE DRUGS WERE THE PROBLEM (then of course ME!!!) please listen to what I am telling you...this is no joke. This is My experience-nothing else, thanks.

Cured both plus many more things by introducing probiotics on top of diet exercise and stress management and im not the probiotic pills or food you buy at the store im talking about actually fermenting your own food at home. 1 Jar of fermented cucumbers has something like 1000 dollars of probiotic supplements packed in it. Cheers hope you are doing better.

    • @brockwalker462
      @brockwalker462 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Cindy, the problem you're having is that you never tapered off the suboxone/subutex properly from what I understand. You have put your body through extreme stress by jumping off at too high a dose. Therefore, you would have experienced prolonged withdrawals because you're not just supposed to jump off suboxone unexpectedly. That's also why your skin would have been on fire for three months, etc.
By jumping off it without tapering, your cortisol levels fluctuate dramatically as well as your hormones and so on. I always recommend tapering correctly when coming off any opiate, as well as also using the vitamin C protocol.
Taking large amounts of sodium ascorbate and/or Liposomal vitamin C during tapering is by far the most effective way of getting off all opiates without experiencing withdrawals.
Basically, your body is still experiencing some negative withdrawal effects three years after ceasing suboxone/subutex because you never tapered. Suboxone also makes your hair fall out while you're on it but also afterwards if you don't taper, in my experience.
I highly recommend the following protocol for recovering and/or withdrawing off suboxone, subutex, or other such opiates properly.
      opiateaddictionsupport.com/how-to-use-vitamin-c-for-opiate-withdrawal/
If you or anyone here has any questions regarding this protocol, please don't hesitate to ask.

I lost my mother, father, and brother to opiate overdoses. And have one brother on suboxone.
I myself am as clean as a whistle. I went the opposite direction as many in my family.
    And I’m a nurse.
I recently was working in a rehab, and I had to leave bc I couldn’t take it. I felt like I was contributing to everything I hate in the world.
The rehab I worked at, in the detox section. We do detox with suboxone or possibly methadone. It depends on a variety of things. We truly do keep the patients as comfortable as possible.
In fact. Many seem to sleep thru 5-7 days of detox and go in scared to death waiting for withdrawal to get worse and worse.
But then they sleep.... and before they know it they’re black out period is over.
Suboxone is honestly meant to be used for 7 days. It’s supposed to relieve w/d.
However there’s so many people who’d rather see their loved one take a suboxone (with a blocker) and function, and be “healthy” but they have no clue what the long term affects are
In my opinion, this seems to affect woman then men long term.
I’d highly advise against accutane, however I’m not your dr. I’m simply a Nurse Practitioner.
But I commend you for sharing your story, and even more so I commend you for recognizing you are worth living, and whatever hell you’ve went thru, and continue to go through. You’re a beautiful person who deserves to live a happy life.
You are stronger then you realize.
May god bless you and I pray you continue to take it one day at a time....
(And no. Being on subs or methadone doesn’t always mean you’re sober but it’s definitely the lesser of two evils. I’d take that over someone using a bundle of heroin and losing them that’s for sure) but you have to just keep on keepin on.

Emily Horrigan thank you hun!!!! Lord knows I have put everything into my education and then my career!! I’ve seen too many Drs with lousy bedside manner. So I definitely try to make anyone, patient or not, as comfortable as possible. Because they shouldn’t ever feel like they have a stigma attached to them and sadly I do see that all too often especially when it comes to addiction.
I see many come into the ER, and they’re immediately treated as if they’re lying or drug seeking by Drs mumbling under their breath. And I think it is awful to judge someone before they know the whole story.
Granted plenty do come in and lie. Sure. But plenty come in with REAL problems and shouldn’t be punished bc they’re addicts or in recovery.
I treat people how I would want to be treated. And remember that I put my pants on the same way that anyone else does!!!!
      God bless! 😘😘😘😘

+Catch aGlimpseOfZion I’ve been following this thread, and I haven’t commented but I’ve reading other comments. Bcuz I’m in a similar position. I don’t really talk about it often. This is the first time I’m making any sort of public comment.
But you have been really helpful. And I can tell that you have compassion for it and it seems like it’s even painful for you to be around. (I hope you don’t mind my opinion) I don’t mean that in a bad way at all. But it’s obvious you’ve been hurt by the disease, you lost both parents. How could that not hurt someone.
And you’ve weighed in on the comments with a variety of help. You never said once that someone SHOULD NOT be on suboxone in fact I did read in one of the comments that you said “you often have to pick the lesser of two evils” (I think that’s what you said) and I took that, as you understanding the people who ARE on suboxone or methadone and why.
And you understand that it’s better for them to be on that, then to be doing heroin.
I mean honestly you’re the reason I felt compelled to comment. And I’ve been following this for weeks. And I wanted to thank you for all of the stuff you’ve written bcuz it’s been full of knowledge like from both ends of the spectrum.
You even said you help your friend bcuz u know it’s better she be on that, then what she was doing.
I haven’t once seen a comment where you really judged anyone and said they SHOULD NOT take it. You simply replied to the video and replied to coming off of it and how it affects the body. Mainly female in your experience.
Yes! I’ve been paying attention and I wanted to write b4 and ask if we could talk privately somehow bcuz of the fact that you were being honest, non-judgmental and helpful.
I’ll post my email first if you’re up for talking privately. Just reply to this and lmk. Thank you & Happy New Year! 🎆♥️🎉

I love the positivity you put in this video and there should be more videos like this! Many people think suboxone is going to help them and many fall back into the opiates or they refuse to stop taking the suboxone over all! I'm sharing this video to a couple of people who really need to see this. Thank you.❤

Hi ive just seen this video, and I have some advice. I am a doctor working in the uk in the pharmaceutical industry but have a passing interest in issues which you are describing. If you would like to get in contact with me I would be happy to help. I have seen many patients with similar complaints as yours and some things you explain doing thinking to relieve your symptoms may actually be exasperating them.

i know exactly what you mean. I have hip arthritis, medically diagnosed with xrays, and metal shards in my stomach from when i was a kid. I ended up in hospital with a part of my intestine stopped working, while on methadone. they spent more time telling me it was coz of heroin addiction (which i stopped years before this happening) and that they couldnt give me pain medication (which i didnt want, i just wanted treated for my intestine)...its a joke.if you came in with a broken arm or a bullet wound theyd blame it on meth...

yes. you could walk into an ER with a broke neck, hit by a semi-truck and as soon as the find out. they immediatly treat you so different. no matter if your on 10mgs or 100mgs. Any hopes of you walking out with anything for pain (besides tylonol) is slim to none. pretty screwed up but its the truth.

I never did drugs. My drug of choice is sugar, sweets, & carbs. Poor diet and exercise for a majority of my life. Currently 38 weeks pregnant and my skin is almost as bad. I am super into makeup, but when it comes to the texture of moderate to severe acne their is little you can do. Still, people are so much nicer when I have it on vs bare face. I'm sorry you are paying for your old choices. Most of us do unfortunately. You are an inspiration to anyone in need of breaking an addiction & I wish you all the best!

I had to be on Methadone for almost 20 years for pain. I have Lupus and Neuropathy. I’ve been off of it eight and one half years, when I had to have a pain pump implanted. I’ve never had the problem with my face breaking out but have had severe constipation and loss of hair. Even my eye brows and lashes got really thin. It’s great that you are making better choices and eventually,I believe you will rid your body of all the built up toxins. You are very attractive. Just stay on the right path. You are in my prayers.

This video was made awhile ago now, I do hope things are going better for you with the issues you were having. Normally I wouldn't comment but I felt I needed to. What struck me about you was how strong and happy you seem. The happiest you've been in your life as I recall you saying. It shows. You look happy and it radiates from you. The cosmetic things are minor issues, although to you they may be irritating and stick out like a sore thumb. what is beautiful is your attitude and honesty and humor about it all! Curious have you checked to see about any possible hormonal imbalances? After I had my little girl, I lost ALOT of hair and my skin was a mess. Things were out of sync for awhile. Oh course I have been on methadone since 12 years also people need to know it eats your teeth up inside. I had toothache without cavities. 3 years of 20 mg methadone I had to have my teeth pulled the outside was fine the inside were trash. I have recently starting losing my hear. My body image was low after the accident and now these added lost has trash my self confidence. Still on the methadone for pain. It's the cheapest way to help control my pain ,which am still at about 5 all the time on the stupid pain chart,I don't know what to do just venting

I agree on the thyroid too. Lost my thyroid to cancer and I've really been put thru the ringer with both hair and acne. Although I thought the acne was due to the breast cancer treatment I had 7 years later. Currently I'm at an all time high for hair loss even tho my thyroid markers claim to be regular, I can clearly see they arent. My hair is down to my @$$ but super thin. Please see an endocrinologist for thyroid issues. Try to get one that works with dessicated thyroid if you don't want synthetic meds in your body.

You are very honest. In my opinion your skin isn't that that bad. I've seen worse, and these people didn't even use drugs anytime in their life. But what what I wanted to say: did you try probiotics , these is powder/pills with life bacteria, the kind your guts need. Because we need a healthy bacteria system inside our digestive system, it is very important for your health. This ALSO can explain your other constipational problems. Yokult is a diary drink, full of life bacteria, , invented in Japan, but one can buy it in every grovery here in Holland, next to the yoghurt. Yoghurt also is full of bacteria, but the real probiotica has a much bigger variaty of bacteria. You need to "inject" your digestive system with this.
It will solve a lot of problems. Maybe even the candida.
Something is not right with the equilibrum, Ph values. That's why this drinking of apple cider vinegar was not a bad idea.
Also, stopping with sugar is a good idea, gluten, too. But , please you have to eat/drink diary product, of course moderately.
You have to eat meat, of course moderately.
Supplements are not that expensive, pipingrock, an American webshop has very cheap supplements. Also bodybuilding websites.
But my advice is: take probiotica and Yakult yoghurt.
You can thank me later. LOL. You were right, it is coming from inside. So cleaning your skin with charcoal is not the answer.
It is the bacterial system in your intestines/stomach.
My wife also has this acne, and candida. And she never used drugs in her whole life. Don't even smoke cigarettes.
It started when she gave birth. And she took this horrible strong pills for acne, it is some skin cancer chemotherapy pill, it did work, but this stuff is very bad , you cannot be pregnant in 5 years, the manual advice: please don't get pregnant within the next 5 years, it will harm the foutus/baby. So this medicament was very strong and bad for your system, but it DID solve the acne for a while. I DON't recommend this treatment al all for you, please no.
But I recommended for you this probiotica, preferably the ones which contain more than 10 different bacteria stems.
Cheers from Simon from Holland, Bye.

I'm the same age with the same back story, it's crazy to hear extremely sim story I wrecked all of my early to mid 20s with OxyContin and smack living in Baltimore it was too easy. My life was changed by suboxone for what I thought was the good when I was 28, I got my life back physically and went beyond what I thought was possible but the long term effects of subs has destroyed my inner inner soul I once had I can only get momentary happiness from physical things the real true happiness and innocence are gone and I've finally come to grips with that fact. It sucks bad I feel like I died in my 20s and all of this has been and is a weird dream. The years of anti depressants has what I believe only compounded the problem and in all honestly the only thing that keeps me going is that I feel a super deep passion to pass on my history to help people understand opiate addiction fully as well as suboxone avoidance at all costs as well as any methadone or any substitute. Speaking or preaching has never been my thing always through a lens. I would love to interview you for a documentary I am working on about the long term behavioral physical and emotional changes that happen to us, I want ppl to see exactly the real effects and concerns like the 25k I spent on new porcelain teeth bc my real ones got destroyed by suboxone and not shitting for a month at a time feeling so bloated it hurts to lay on your stomach as well as loss of self and spirituality while living like a shell of a person who needs plenty of instant gratification to smooth over the horrific depression and endless confusion. I want ppl to feel the despair and consequences that seem to stay unseen or heard in society

It says on the labels now that long term suboxone use does in fact cause hair loss so try again! And also when I was on boxes I had terrible bacne or back acne but it stopped when I stopped the boxes so go figure. We all react differently and the drug companies are only stating what they legally have to on the labels so unless you are a doc who has studied this chemical then you are you and no one else!

ts happening after stopping methadone or suboxone, not till you are still using. Many people have the same problem after quiting methadone or suboxone. I read that methadone is reducing testosterone levels and after you stop it you start producing normal quantity testosterone, which is something new for your body after years of using methadone. So its basically hormonal imbalance, but it should go away around 1 year sobriety. maybe she is just using too much products on her face which only makes her skin more oily, and makes things worse

U will never get off maintenance...if u do,u will be right back on it, or right back on the drugs. I would just accept it at this point. I mean, it's great if you have another hope, sure...but don't go around praising it as if it's some type of awesome life saving wonder drug. it's as bad on every level as any street drug and the doctor is your dealer...and now he's got u and your $$$ for as long as you're alive.

I was on painkillers for 20yrs. It was like a marriage. Percocet was the love of my life. At 40, I was done. I went on suboxone and it saved me. I do not feel like a slave. I do not feel like a drug addict. It is keeping me clean from my one vice. I dealt with cystic acne from 12 to 38. It sounds like you have dealt with it too. Please don't blame suboxone, especially with a history of acne. Suboxone is truly a life saver for some people. The more it gets stigmatized the faster it will be hard to get for people that really need it. I know for myself, if I didn't have it I would be back on painkillers in a minute.

Deborah Mccarthy congrats on your soberity! I've been on subutex and have had no issues. Addicts are already scared of stopping drugs. We don't need more fear on top of it. Did you do NA as well? Her mentality is a lot of why I don't want to be around NA.

Deborah Mccarthy If people are able to get therapy I think that is the best choice IMO happy people dont do drugs. There is usually a reason people want to forget. And I understand why people like NA but to me and again this is just my experience but it gets super cultish. NA becomes their new drug. I only found really good contacts at NA meetings but I'm not going to tell others not to go to them.everyone has their own road to sober and these ideas where sub's are going to ruin your life are so dangerous. Acne is way better than infected track marks at least or ya know, death...

Ya I think it works differently for different people I've been on suboxone for 3 months now and it's worked wonders! I take what's prescribed (actually a little less) and I haven't had a thought of painkillers and I can live my life! I have money now along with repaired relationships! But I understand it's not for everyone I'm just saying that suboxone, along with a strong will, can keep addiction at bay!

Deborah I agree 100%! I was big into NA for the first 2years of being clean(I have 5 years as of Nov 1st 2017) and I also started attending church regularly when I got clean. 2 years into NA I had a relative die and it was very difficult to deal with for me. Not one person from NA reached out to me. My church though, offered to feed my entire family a huge meal following the funeral, tons of people from the church reached out to me, sent a card etc. Plus just before the death, I found out that my NA sponsor(who I ADORED) of 2 years had actually been using the entire time!!! A lot of the regulars at NA were constantly relapsing and everyone would tell them that it was ok and that “relapse is a part of recovery” and I don’t believe in that statement at all. Relapse isn’t an option for me! I feel like if you don’t have that state of mind then you’re setting yourself up for relapse.
Oh and I want to add that I don’t think you have to go to a church(or even be a Christian for that matter) as part of recovery. That was just a personal choice and it has happened to be a giant help for me. I do enjoy the group meetings at Celebrate Recovery though and in my experience they dont give that “cultish” vibe like NA does.

Lynda Harkness , so does eating little to no meat, with a daily meal of fiber and fresh, high-iron produce.
People need to start eating like they give a shit. They want to get off junk, but they eat like shit. Food is an essential part of being healthy AND helping a drug situation.

I've been on suboxone or subutex (back and forth depending on insurance) since 2010. Ive always had clear skin, until this year! No matter what I do my skin keeps breaking out! I can relate to pretty much everything you've said. Except I have been strong enough to go through the hell that is withdrawl from buperenorphine, I've felt the withdrawl but only for about a week and that's as long as I can stand it. Keep going on your path. We need you to speak out about your journey!

woolitejones Just wondering how are you doing? I am on subs and have been now for 6 yrs. I'm down to 4 mg and wanna get down to 2mg and off completely very soon. Just wondered how you felt when you totally came off and what mg where you at when you came off? You don't have to answer if you don't want to but I would really appreciate it!

      hi Breanne.
      in doing well , thanks.
i was at 10 mgs - 15 mgs a day when i quit. i basically stayed in bed for 10-12 days.
no energy and no appetite and stomach pain. the symptoms, for me at least , were up and down.
i could not have done it with out my buddy who took me in and gave me lots of water and little things to eat here and there.
you may fair better since you are on such a low dose.
i hope i answered your question.
i recently stated taking kratom. 3 tbls a day. it has been a huge help.
i know im forgetting something important.
good luck and YOU GOT THIS.

It could have been long term effects of the Accutane you took years ago. I see alot of comments stating you're wrong about the meds you're talking about. I'm not saying it's not true. Thankfully I've never been addicted to anything. Thank you for sharing! It could also be hormonal acne. I think you're a beautiful lady!

Have you gotten blood tests? I started getting weird cyst-like hormonal acne at 33, along with excessive hair loss. I thought I was going insane...but nope, my hormone levels were all jacked up, and deficient of a few vitamins (D the most)
i am on methadone, have been for 5 years.
Do not have constipation, only really bad side effect is sweating profusely a few hours a day, and low energy. But I HATE SWEATING while wearing a tank top in below freezing weather. I feel gross and it's not healthy. I think our bodies get so messed up from so much shit we put in our bodies..but really it could be a reaction to something you changed recently...new multivitamin, etc.
    Update??

CMC Carpentry yes suboxone saves. Bc . Its better to live on sub's than to keep using. But it also makes you blind to emotions. Vivitrol was the only way I could get off suboxone. I am going through all of what she is going through. I was also on for 10 years. Losing my hair my teeth. Kratom also is very helpful. I have energy from Kratom. I also have pain relief (the main part) fro Kratom. I dont know how good it is for you. But i know it helps.
