There's even custom, very exclusive dialogue saying "we know today isn't really your birthday, but we still wanted to celebrate!", stuff like that. Very minor details that don't need to added, but are still appreciated by the very few people who get to see them, like me!
Do they celebrate on March 1st, or February 28th? I know some people differentiate the date depending on if you were born before or after 12pm, but I don't think Pokemons going to ask for your specific time of birth lmaoo

An Onix and Steelix oroboros in the shape of a mobius strip with each segment of their body being a ribbon that Balboa wouldn’t be able to get without the use of these game breaking shenanigans that allowed her to be brought back into the older generations and get those very ribbons and mark

@@je19493 I haven't made a writeup for the setup, as the reason for it not being humanly viable is 1) millions of frame perfect tricks 2) takes roughly 68 years and 3) is otherwise very similar to dp's setup. The reason it takes so long and requires so many frameperfect inputs is because it abused a glitch known as ledge cancelling to overflow the player's x coordinate multiple times, because out of bounds traversal was 'patched' in platinum.
i got good news for you buddy! (its now possible to get ace is pt/hgss by using ace in dp or the dns exploit to send custom mystery gifts to the games)

This ribbon quest is truly the ultimate undertaking in ribbons! It's a shame just how many ribbons introduced in gen 3 went completely unused, and even became overwritten to be other ribbons entirely. This video is a wonderful culmination of the hard work of many talented glitch hunters! I'll be looking for a guide on how to do this in my own copies of emerald and platinum! Well done!

Event ribbons actually prevent you from wonder trade, which is actually how I was first introduced to ribbons in the first place!
If I'm not mistaken, they also prevent you from putting that pokemon on the GTS

I did that myself and got a hall of origin arceus, I really wanted to see the special event before I started a new save file on my heartgold
Ye that was how I got my Shiny Arceus, it's actually slightly faster than doing soft resets normally since you can do Run Aways.

Really amazing that ASE can be done in Diamond/Pearl, and ACE to an extent as well! Hopefully there is a breakthrough with ASE/ACE in Plat/HGSS
Currently there is a theorethical setup for plat, but it cannot be performed by humans. Hopefully that changes in the future.
