The Park Ball play was insane, you were in full rights to say "lol screw off" after people suggested what is BASICALLY a non-existent filler Pokeball, but NO, you broke reality just to catch Palkia with a damn Park Ball, and THAT earns you my respect.
It's even more hilarious if you know that Palkia is the god of space and was breaking SO MANY RULES of space (and time) just so it could make 89 clones of itself..... just so Toasty could do this.
I can explain! Glitches like that are not "discovered", programmers that understand a game's software can fetch for that kind of behavior by analyzing the game's code and looking for exploits in the game's code, after that, it's not that hard to translate games behaviors into code, its also not simply, but its all intentional and more a task of optimization.
Fun Fact: You can actually do the Sinjoh Ruins event *twice*, though the second time involves hacking in the Azure Flute from that unreleased event and getting the Arceus from that event. HG/SS will even recognize that you've already done it once and only give you the choice of the two remaining legendaries.

Smth about Legends not only being responsible for a good chunk of the different catches, but also being the one game that restricts Dialga and Palkia as being the only two mon catchable in every type of ball, is just oddly funny to me. Like, over two decades worth of games, and they just NOW decide to include a special type of poke ball that only one pokemon can be really caught in?
It may have been overkill, but I loved the section covering the crazy Gen 4 glitches. It's always so cool seeing Code Execution in older Pokemon games and all the nonsense you can do with it.
A note about the DNS trick: If you have a modern and somewhat capable router, check if you can enable Guest Networks. What it does is create an isolated and restricted virtual network, which you can then set up so that it requires no authentication while still being able to filter conections based on a device's MAC address, so that it allows only conections from your DS/3DS. This is very useful if you don't have a capable hotspot device and you don't want to mess around with your main network, as all settings can be enabled and disabled by a button and don't expose your private network to whoever passes nearby your house.

I once caught a shiny Palkia in a regular poké ball in Omega Ruby. I wasn't even looking for a shiny pokémon at the time. It just appeared on the first try.
I'm sure it would take a ton of work, but I'd love to see a video on obtaining every evolved Pokémon at their lowest possible level. For example, trading a level 3 Raichu for Electrode in FRLG, fishing up a level 1 Gyarados in B2W2, etc.
Lots of Pokemon can be Level 1 from Go but are unobtainable because the event that put them in the wild is over like how Latios/Latias or the legendary Beasts were in the wild during the regional tours

1:32 im pretty sure it will not respawn if killed but only if you flee. It’s possible dialga and palkia are exceptions to the rule but generally legendaries respawning if killed was introduced in platinum

Loved how you caught the first Palkia in a heal ball, in my first playthrough of Pokemon Pearl which was my first pokemon game, I was running out of pokeballs and my last pokeballs were the healballs, and I managed to catch my Palkia in a heal ball

Way back in the day while playing Pokemon Diamond, my game actually glitched and respawned a second Dialga after the elite four even though I already caught it. I never researched why and assumed time shenanigans because ya know... Dialga... Lol.
That whole deal with the park ball was crazy. But its interesting that in the code to D/P/PT, there are unused locations in the pal park for all the gen 4 pokemon. Some make sense but some seem... a little off... (looking at Ambipom & Drifloon in the pond)

My face when I thought Premier Balls were masterballs for the longest time because I wasnt sure how i got it, but in my first encounter with palkia I immediately threw the Premier ball and it caught it... 1.6% chance
2:26 you want an event arceus? I have 2-3 boxes of them - spent hours soft resetting in our local toys r us to get as many as possible. It was a very big deal to finally “take back arceus from the action replayers” - so we were super zealous in grinding as many as possible.

Since the event for Dialga and Palkia is going on in SV, I decided to check out how it compares to SW/SH. For SV, from starting a fresh save, it will take just about the same amount of time to be able to do raids (52 mins speedrun to 1 hour more relaxed). It’s roughly the same amount of time needed. However, in SV you can instantly fight dialga/palkia after trading over a trained mon holding a ball, catching it much easier and *significantly* faster than from max raid dens. The special pokeballs are also somewhat easier to get, assuming you already beat the game and simply fill the pokedex.
I feel like there's some beautiful poetry to be made of how only the embodiments of Space and Time could even be caught in all Pokeballs available. Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.

Old phone is exactly how I got the DNS trick to work for me. First tried it with my router to no avail, and the my current phone, which also did not work. Then I dug through my drawers for an older phone and Micro USB charger, and that one did work, in this case the phone was Huawei Honor 8 lite, but I had older options too if that had failed me
Its a shame, but Pokemon V&S are doing a Palkia/Dialga tera raid event you can use to easily use any ball in those games on a palkia. Probably wouldve made your job a tad easier
I once sold a copy of diamond that was stuck in the void. Only reason I wanted the cartridge over my emu was the Pokemon on it so if I had to reset it I didn't want it 😂 hope whoever bought it got a laugh from being stuck. I also hope they figured out how to get out

For SV, from starting a fresh save, it will take just about the same amount of time to be able to do raids (52 mins speedrun to 1 hour more relaxed). It’s roughly the same amount of time needed. However, in SV you can instantly fight dialga/palkia after trading over a trained mon holding a ball, catching it much easier and *significantly* faster than from max raid dens. The special pokeballs are also somewhat easier to get, assuming you already beat the game and simply fill the pokedex.
Yup, and while when the event began there was still the Sport and Safari Ball exclusive to Galar, Indigo Disk added those back too

Old phone is exactly how I got the DNS trick to work for me. First tried it with my router to no avail, and the my current phone, which also did not work. Then I dug through my drawers for an older phone and Micro USB charger, and that one did work, in this case the phone was Huawei Honor 8 lite, but I had older options too if that had failed me
When he was told to catch them all, he took that personally.

Its a shame, but Pokemon V&S are doing a Palkia/Dialga tera raid event you can use to easily use any ball in those games on a palkia. Probably wouldve made your job a tad easier

2:35 you can also use a wifi/hotspot with no security at all, I limit the max users to 1 in my phone settings so only my ds can connect.
