We as a group of casual but higher levels tried the 3 top shuttles as30-as50 We found that the best were as40 for durability price and speed of the shuttle. We also found that when the temperature in the room changed the as40 was still consistent.
Victor Champion Gold is very good. AS40s quality good flight and durability. They are slightly heavier than Yonex. Victor Service are similar to AS20s. Reasonable Flight and more durable but not much feel to it. Victor Masters Ace have superb flight like the 50s, stiff feathers. But 50s last longer. Babolat 1 are Taiwan made goose feathers. Flight is just as good as AS30s, last longer and tiny bit cheaper.
I've been using the yehlex premiership. I thought it was ok for the cost. But I'm going to try the as30 for the next few sessions. And maybe the victor gold champion as well. Trying to find which is the best bang for the buck

Got to try as50s before n I liked it very much, n tried as30s as well when 50s ran out of stock. However I was shocked to realise that 30s were a totally different feel compared to 50s, not to mention the durability as they didn't survive a set of casual game. Guessed that price range of these shuttles do make a difference.
I also tried many different type of shuttlecock including F90, you may want to give a try on RCL Black Gold if available in your region. Having said that, AS50 still the best shuttlecock if cost is not a concern as F90 is hardly available outside Japan.
I haven't used many Yonex shuttles due to their price. Mostly used Aeroplane blacks and green. I would be interested in how the AS-50s compare to other BWF approved shuttles.
Thank you for this review, very informative. :) I run a club for intermediate-advanced players weekly in the UK. I personally find AS30 the best bang for the buck so far and reasonable price for everyone when sharing out the cost. Anything cheaper or other brands just wouldn't last as long as AS30. If you go for cheaper ones they break easy and it's probably going to cost you more in the long run. I didn't really have the chance to try out AS40 or AS50 as we think 30s are already sufficient and not sure if it's worth going for something with an even higher price tag.
Yeah!! It’s certainly false economy to cheap on shuttles as they’ll end up costing you more! Do try the 40/50, you might be pleasantly surprised even with the initial higher costs 👍🏼
I too believe that cheaper shuttles will cost you more on the long run, like costs for a club in a year. The better, more expensive shuttles will last much longer and play much better. On the plus side: the used shuttles can still be used for training or multi shuttle feeding. Paul Stewart had a nice set up to test quality and cost calculations. Can't find it though. In the past I've done tests too with AS50, AS30 and Victor Gold Champion among a few others. AS50 was by far the best shuttle. Build like a tank. However, because it kept its form so well, but does fluff a bit, it tends to slow down quicker than other shuttles. Resulting in changing shuttles faster than you'd like. Maybe that's part of why pro players change shuttles so often. Certainly not because they broke everytime. Victor Gold Champion is comparable with AS30, in price too. A bit lighter in feel, perhaps. But very good bang for your buck. We might change to AS30 though, just to try it out for a year.
Excellent reviews! Unfortunately, the price of a shuttlecock with goose feathers is really not affordable for Indonesian. 90% of us use duck feather shuttlecocks, even some tournaments use this type of shuttlecock.
We use AS30 at my local club and they probably have the best price/performance ratio in the Yonex range. Our youth department used AS20 for a while but we found that they were a significant step down and that the better durability of AS30 more than offset the slightly higher cost in comparison. RSL also makes great shuttles. RSL Classic is an old favorite. I haven't had good experiences with shuttles from Li Ning and Victor.
I prefer AS50. They last very long. We use like 2 per game. Amateur game play. Other than Yonex, I also like Protech Masterpiece. Quite good for the price.

I have a tube of the King Kong 500. They are hybrid so it is feather stuck to plastic stuck to a cork. Feathers feel soft and curve to the left as you look from above, unlike full feathers where the feathers are straight. Adequate for general play where touch and feel aren't so important like forehand reverse slice drop or spinning net shots. Quite bouncy and takes off at a higher speed before slowing down. Natural feathers are more consistent in this area. Suitable for up to intermediate level. Only €1 a shuttle. Also tried the FZ hybrid. Stay clear.
It could be certain batches but I’ve never come across this issue with Yonex shuttles before. However, it could also be the length the retailer/supplier have kept the shuttles for. It could be a very very old batch?
@@CKYew Nope, brand new. I find my pre 2014 AS50s perform quite a lot better than these 2022 batches. I'd even go as far as to say last years Aeroplane Black shuttles are now more durable than AS50 by Yonex here in the US. Edit: And for the record, I absolutely loathe Aeroplane Shuttles.
@@CKYew I see, my bad. I just read that it was founded in London and originally from there but upon further reading it does seem to have moved production etc to China. Thanks for clarifying. I guess since Brexits it’s harder to get most stuff now? I’m in EU and RSL is still readily available.
@@CKYew hhmm It's not expensive for some people here. But, most of people here using local shuttles around IDR 60.000 - 80.000, good enough. But, I think that league 5 is the fastest n the lightest shuttle around IDR 60.000 - 150.000. Maybe $8,5 for league 5.
@@CKYew true. When I moved to Germany from China I brougt 5 dozen with me.🙂 Chaopai is better than Yonex I feel. Durable and the flight path is predictable
As far as i tried, the 40 seems to be more durable compared to the 50. 40 feathers are thicker than 50 from bare eye view too. Flight wise,50 is the best out of all aerosensa.40 comes in 2nd Feel wise,40 and 50 have similiar cork and built stiffness.
Too bad I live in an area where the feather shuttles are not really accessible, and also very expensive when bought online. The whole badminton community here plays with plastic shuttle like the Yonex Mavis series. Fun part is, I personally see these feather shuttles as very prestige here, but there are people here who actually REFUSE to play with them just because it's going to be inconsistent for them. xD
@@CKYew Yes! I have also realized that it’s easier to do most of the trick shots (at least those that i know) on feather shuttles compared to the plastic shuttles. Plastic shuttles have more “straightforward” reactions. Many of the cuts and slices which will cause a shuttle tumble on feather shuttles, will end up bouncing off your strings and becoming a straight net drop. I feel that it’s because of the weight ratio of the shuttle head to the feather/plastic end.

Stay clear.
What about the tournament shuttlecock? Its the most expensive from yonex.
Yes, that's a Japan only model. The legendary Tournament F-90.
Best ever used. 1 shuttle last 2 sets or longer.
I can't wait to try them personally!
@@albertchui8462 In your opinion, which string do you like the most?
What do you think of the Yonex ACL 30?
All the shuttles quality dropped quite a bit recently. Aerosensa 30 and below is almost unplayable. Do you find that the case with all shuttle brands?
It could be certain batches but I’ve never come across this issue with Yonex shuttles before. However, it could also be the length the retailer/supplier have kept the shuttles for. It could be a very very old batch?
@@CKYew Nope, brand new. I find my pre 2014 AS50s perform quite a lot better than these 2022 batches. I'd even go as far as to say last years Aeroplane Black shuttles are now more durable than AS50 by Yonex here in the US.
Edit: And for the record, I absolutely loathe Aeroplane Shuttles.
Global warming is affecting our geese!!!! 😂😂😂
@@CKYew apparently happening to Li Ning too. So sad.
I think most brands are affected 😬
Nice video. Personally I really like the RSL classic tourney when it comes to bang for buck.
We cant get them in the UK unfortunately but I did use them a lot when I was in China
@@CKYew what really? RSL is a English brand so this surprises me a lot that they aren’t available in UK
Haha, having England on the logo doesnt mean its from England nor widely/easily available in England. 😂😂 Its all about the marketing lol
@@CKYew I see, my bad. I just read that it was founded in London and originally from there but upon further reading it does seem to have moved production etc to China. Thanks for clarifying. I guess since Brexits it’s harder to get most stuff now? I’m in EU and RSL is still readily available.
@@jojoavenger Haha no worries lol! It's all about supply and demand isn't it!
Hey ck can you review the shuttles on Amazon, the black feathered ones, and some random ones?
I've tried some in the past and they were awful.. not sure what brand you was referring to though.
Can you recommend any ethical shuttlecocks?
what kind of shuttle is good for people who are not good (i.e sometimes miss hit the shuttle)?
It depends on your budget. Sometimes, it might even be plastics that’s the best option
@@CKYew Thank you!
Would you do a Victor shuttle review
Please make a review on the perfly shuttles
I'm not sure if they're available where i am 😬😬
@@CKYew ☹️, thanks for the reply
which one is best?
I use the Yonex Aerosensa 5 and they are good.
I believe they are the duck feather varient of the Aerosensa range.
@@CKYew yep it is. And also one downside to it is that if you smash it too many times, the rubber base might give in and shrink itself.
😬
AS30s for practice 😅 If only most people had that luxury. Those are premium match shuttles for most clubs
For testing purposes 👍🏼👍🏼
None of them beats Aeroplane ✌🏽
I've heard lots about Aeroplane but I dont think the UK has a dedicated distributor atm
you should try the bonny king no.2
Please also try fz froza shuttles too
👍
Why aerosensa 50 is made in china not in Japan?
I dont think it matters where it is made so long as the quality is the same
Arcsaber 11 pro review 😫😫🤤plz
Soon 😂😂
how about aerosensa 10?
There was no stock in the UK :( But from experience, they're not worth it as the quality is even worse than the AS20.
@@CKYew i just bought 3 tubes aerosensa 10 from germany and it costs 90€
Ouch!!! That's expensive!
Aerosensa 10 is useless
personally have never tried the aerosensa, the only yonex brand shuttles ive used were the different types of Mavis
Feather shuttles certainly play differently to plastics 👍🏼
What about yonex league 5?
I’ve not come across Yonex League 5 shuttles 😬
@@CKYew price of league 5, around IDR 110.000 - 120.000 here
Is that considered expensive shuttle in Indonesia?
@@CKYew hhmm It's not expensive for some people here. But, most of people here using local shuttles around IDR 60.000 - 80.000, good enough. But, I think that league 5 is the fastest n the lightest shuttle around IDR 60.000 - 150.000. Maybe $8,5 for league 5.
Wow!
RSL Ultimate ftw
💪
Usually play with Victor master 1
I look forward to being able to test them 1 day!
How about Chaopai Pink?
We can’t find any Chao Pai in the U.K. 😭
@@CKYew true.
When I moved to Germany from China
I brougt 5 dozen with me.🙂
Chaopai is better than Yonex I feel.
Durable and the flight path is predictable
me using same Mavis 350 for straight 4 sessions
i am exposing my bad actions i actually took 2 aerosena 30 from my badminton coach even tho he saw he didn't say anything
😂😂
As far as i tried, the 40 seems to be more durable compared to the 50.
40 feathers are thicker than 50 from bare eye view too.
Flight wise,50 is the best out of all aerosensa.40 comes in 2nd
Feel wise,40 and 50 have similiar cork and built stiffness.
the 40's are 50s are both really good options!
How about A50 a40 made from china? Just as good? They are much cheaper
Yonex aerosensa 50 price in $????
Each country will have slightly different pricing so check online with your local shops.
Me remembering in my mind that there is a Aerosena 10 🤨🤨
Yes but i wasnt able to get it for this review and from experience, they're not good value for money
28£ for AS50?? In Norway these cost 90£+ 😄😄😁
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
😊
Too bad I live in an area where the feather shuttles are not really accessible, and also very expensive when bought online. The whole badminton community here plays with plastic shuttle like the Yonex Mavis series. Fun part is, I personally see these feather shuttles as very prestige here, but there are people here who actually REFUSE to play with them just because it's going to be inconsistent for them. xD
Feathers shuttle certainly play differently to plastics. They’re also more responsive as well as kinder to your joints and strings too
@@CKYew Yes!
It all adds up!
Aerosensa 10,2,aeroclub
Nice!! which did you like best?
5:40 jump scared me
😂
I've tried Yonex League 5. Its really awful.
😬😬 are they duck feathers?
@@CKYew I didn't notice, but certainly feathers, not plastic or synthetic
I be used acb tr
Where did you buy it? Is it good?
@@thirdytheadventurer1835 not very nice but hitting sound is good and it is not very durable
@@cubingwhiteofficial1671 thanks for your opinion bro😁
Mavis 350 >AS 50 for me😂
lollll 🤣
