- I take a close look at the Yonex Mavis plastic nylon badminton shuttle/shuttlecock, especially at the Yonex Mavis 10, 300, 600 and 2000 models. They are some of the most popular plastic nylon badminton shuttlecocks being sold. There are other models such as the Yonex Mavis 200, 250, and 350 being sold worldwide but I wasn't able to get a sample of them for this comparison.

I woulf love to see more nylon shuttles reviews like this it's just so detailed. Love your videos CK YEW!!
👌
Your attention to detail is superb, CK. Thank you for another well done video!
Thank you 😊
I have been hoping you would make this video! Thank you
Part 2 coming soon 👍🏼
You are making some amazing content! Thanks for such useful and well edited content!:)
Glad you enjoy it!
When I was playing with plastic nylon shuttlecock I prefer the 2000. I like the speed change consistency. Some opponents prefer the 300 or 350 because of price & they want the shuttle to just be fast. I noticed their entire technique is just hitting the shuttle as hard as they can. All I had to do was stand in the correct place to return the smash. They'd eventually get tired or get a tennis elbow.
Yep! That’s when technique is sacrificed for power based game and it ruins the skill level of the game. We always try and play with the right speeds too 👍🏼
After using the Mavis 2000 shuttlecocks yesterday for 2 hours, I can certainly say durability wise it's definitely very good. Held up with my jump smashes and certainly aint no slouch when it's flying towards you. For a plastic shuttlecock I'd personally recommend it :)
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
What's about its speed comparing with traditional one
Hey CK.. missing your badminton POV games, like to see you do moree 😁👍 awesome vids as alwayss 🔥🔥🔥

@@CKYew I am waiting bro!!! 😇
I was the 1000th like!
I really liked the video, I watched the feathers one and left wanting to see a plastic one
Was using Mavis 350 till now. Switched to 2000 and it moves slow and the landing is great.
👍🏼
Thnx a lot for this , was waiting for this to drop.
More soon too 😂
Been using the Mavis range for the past 10 years. Used almost all its range, 300, 350, 500, 600, 1000, 2000. We played outdoor and prefered using the 10 because if the ground is wet, it won't absorbed water due to its synthetic. 10 is cheapest too. Definitely much more durable than feathers, lower the cost.
😂👍🏼👍🏼
Which shuttle is durable and good for outdoors on a cement court in mumbai temperature
@@narendramodi6306 All Mavis range are durable. You can experiment yourself. Try the 350 blue first. But the 10, because of its synthetic head is the cheapest. Bear in mind that the 10 is lighter and players must get use to it...but they are playable and the head would not soak water.
@@narendramodi6306 You can see the flight in our game here. I'm the single guy. th-cam.com/video/hR5cMq4SvXA/w-d-xo.html
What would be the best for total beginners??
Thanks for the review, do you know what is happening with the Yonex’s Synthetic Shuttles that were supposed to be used by BWF in international tournaments?
lets hope it never happens more woke nonsense
Oooo good question!
I want this to happen real soon as 60% of the badminton players play with nylons only
Depending on the occasion me and mates sometimes using plastic/feather, for plastic we use Adidas Flieger TS3, sucks a lot because im using 30lbs of tension but cant help it because its cheap 😂😂😂😂. However when we wanna do some serious sparring we use feather ofc
But speaking of plastic/synthetic materials, i really wish to see your take on Victor's synthetic feather because it looks interesting
Yeah, i've heard a lot about those Victor shuttles. I'll try and get hold of them to test them out! 👍
Would love to see a badminton racket video best options for advance, intermediate, beginner
All down to budgets 😂
@@CKYew 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi can you also do a review of strings, tension and racquets that are good for plastic shuttles?
I've previously posted a Yonex string review, more to come in the future 👍
Would love to see a video where you test hybrid shuttlecocks and are there any diffrences lets say between kawasaki king kong 500 or forza 5000.. or do those just come from same factory and they change the labeling?
My experience of hybrid shuttles arent great. I'm sticking to normal feather shuttlecocks
@@CKYew but for players who use nylons it's still an upgrade right
@@CKYew And also one request please can you make an updated video of comparing different top brands nylon shuttles which are comparable to Mavis 350 as mavis 350 has gotten a lot more expensive so I'm trying to find an alternative
Love the mavis 600, plays much better than 300 for me.
Great video ck
Thanks 👍
hi, can you compare between mavis 300 and mavis 350
From my experience Mavis 10 is the most durable of them all. They last forever till you lose them.
And mavis 300 has the best sound but least durable among plastic. Their speed tend to increase after several use. If you compare m-300 that has been used in several match vs a fresh one, the used one would be significantly faster
👍🏼👌
Brother you should have included Mavis 350
Yes
Yes! Mavis 350 fam!
Mavis 350 isn’t sold where I am 😂
350 is the best for plast shuttlecock
@@CKYew That's extremely sad for us here in India because there's this Mavis 350 mania here without much proven reason. Once Mavis 2000 was the costliest but over the years Mavis 350 has beaten everything else to the top. It is used in ALL non-feather tournaments here. We all could have benefitted from head to head comparison between 350 and 2000. I personally am a stickler for company specifications and rules. I simply can't understand how and why 350 could be a 'better' shuttle than 2000 when Yonex made 2000 as the next best alternative to a feather shuttle? Can you throw some light on it please?
C❤️K please make a video that the benefits of tawal grip vs over grip🙏
There’s no extra benefits, it’s all personal preference
Sir which shuttle is more durable in all of these
Which type has the slowest speed? thạnks
Which is best for outdoor
How is the speed of nylon shuttlecocks as compared to as-50, is the feather one significantly faster or what?😃
Feathers are very natural. Plastics feel stiff and slow.
Which one is most durable
What strings would you recommend for playing with a nylon shuttle?
Slightly thicker strings 👍🏼
You should include the mavis air field
Mavis 350 is heavily used at club level in India. Even Mavis 500 .green label. Sad that you couldnt find them .It wouldve been good to see the comparison
Yeah, they're not available worldwide
Not heavily bro we only use Mavis 350 and we are running out of stocks in stores, for small tournaments to beginners, intermediates all use 350, but due to unavailability of 350, we are using 500, 600, but 350 is the best one
@@GAMEON805 never tried 2000 ,if theyre better will try those once.thanks
@@TauroChuck nope I just received 2000 and I played with it, I am not satisfied with it as 350 is better than 2000, 2000 feels like it is too heavy green cap when compare to 350, I didn't the like the feel of 2000, 350 is king

Hey CK,so which is the best tho?
Pls reply thx
It’s all down to personal preference, I preferred the 300 but as you can see, lots of others don’t 😂
Bro Mavis 350 is the shuttle widely used mostly but I use Mavis 600 these days.
👍🏼👍🏼
I want to buy a slow flying type because the field is short
Hy..please review adidas TS3 & TS5.🙏🙏
Read the description- everyone who's been saying CK left out the 350s. He couldn't get those for testing.
Thank you 😉
@@CKYew it's a custom here in CK Yew's youtube comments section... instead of thank yous, give us a shoutout and that'll work better😂
Thanks for the video! That's weird because when i'm using Mavis 2000 shuttles, my mates (who normally use Mavis 300 or 600) are hitting almost every single clear out. I thought they were the fastest :D
Are they all the same speed shuttles?
I felt too m2000 is very fast and go out a lot. Hwz future 9 flight?
Yeah 2000 is super fast! 350 can be good but they quality consistent isnt best. I prefer Mavis 600. Blue color on speed is best no matter if its 2000 35 or 600.
@@CKYew 2000 is pretty fast fastest of them all i think. Mavis 600 is much slower then 300 and 350. All blue speed. You have to have a pretty good clear to hit 600 base to baseline. 600 normal/blue speed is most fun plastic shuttle for doubles imo.
@CK few i have few questions on this the mavis 350 is good but comparing it to thhe lining gold series its the same then why such a vast price tag difference ....
I’ve not tried the Li Ning gold series so I can’t comment
@@CKYew do you plan on cus i am sort of waiting to pull thr triggerr on gold series if not i am still good , but hey always a big fan of your chaneel with notification always on

I will try 👍🏼
In India 350 mavis is used mostly. Bummer its been left out.
It’s not available where I am 😂
also plz give a review on red shuttlecock
It’s faster 😂
thumbs up for effort and a good idea but i dont think this is a very useful video. much time is spent at what each shuttle looks like, but only performance matters, and that can be broken down largely into 1) shape of flight path, 2) speed, and 3) cost per hit. it's the first one that's hard to get right. i realize you are not going to have the equipment to test that directly, but at least understanding the fundamental problem of creating a synthetic shuttle can focus your inquiry. i would have liked to see all the time spent on the court with direct comparisons and player comments about on-court performance of the shuttles you are testing vs. tournament grade feather. specifically, what's it like to clear each shuttle 50x, hit drop shots 50x, smash 50x, and what is it like to do technical net play
Cost/hit for plastics: 678947264/shuttle 😂😂😂
Mavis 350 is the plastic shuttle used by everyone in india
Mavis 500 super is also really good
👍🏼👍🏼 soooo many models isn’t it 😂

why not 350 ?
I heard that BWF is going to adopt new synthetic shuttles from Yonex. Is it still in development?
where did you hear this?
@@CKYew From the most famous Yonex Stringer Tim Willis but also you can find BWF news stories about it.
Ahhhh niceeeee.. I knew bwf was trialling it a few years ago at lower level tournaments but not sure if it’ll ever filter through to the top end
Which shuttle to be used for outdoor cement court in Mumbai weather
How about Victor Carbonsonic?
I havent had a chance to try them but I heard they might have been discontinued in certain regions.
Can we use the same method to check the speed for nylon? ie to underarm stroke from baseline?
Ooooo!! Good one! I’ll keep that in mind!
Why people used 350? it's very slow to attack and durability comparing 2000 mavis, in my case 😀😀
👍
i cant control nylon the way i want to and put it where i want from clears to lifts, but feathers i can move my opp around a bit 350 feel so heavy and witha ll my might cant clear it to the back, 2000s i can do a bit better with.
Maybe the shuttle is too slow? Try a faster speed?
Disadvantaged of mavis 2000?
Not really, it’s all down to personal preferences 👍🏼
U missed the infamous mavis 350
are plastic shuttercocks good for outdoor when there's wind?
Not always. If it’s windy, they’re not very good. Maybe airshuttles would be better
A cost vs durability test would be good. So how long a plastic plays before it becomes unplayable to get a cost/time comparison vs a feather
985726859 hits/plastic shuttle. 😂
@@CKYew and I want to see every one of those hits on a timelapse/montage 😂😉
Just a bit of anecdotal experience, the club I grew up with when I was a child played with plastics; until they realised they went through plastics nearly as quick as feathers (in terms of cost back then it was fairly equal!).
When it broke down the consistency of flight speed will change as well as wobbling. These were Mavis 300s.
I suppose the takeaway is that if you're at a certain level of intermediate skill level, this may not save you money when playing with plastics.
"Typically" a *feather* shuttle can last 1-1.5 games. On a bad game however it will cost about 3-5+ feathers 🤣
"typically" no way, I dont even dare count but they change shuttle typically like every 3 points in a pro game, so in a 2 set game they go through easily 20-30 shuttles. You hit the feather shuttle with any force at all it will break and then it is useless. A broken feather shuttle is unplayable while a plastic shuttle with some tears can still be used because it still has some aerodynamics while the feather one doesnt. Plastic all the way, feather is way way overrated
There are really lots of parameters during a cost/performance comparison and it’s really down to the level of the players. High level players will find more enjoyment with feathers with the feel and sound.
@@CKYew it's a force of habit, their clubs always provided them with feather shuttles so they never tried anything else. And if they wanted to play with plastic shuttles their national teams wouldn't let them.
Mavis 350 is has the nearest flite to feather shuttle
👌
For me in midwest US, I found the Mavis 350 had the perfect balance of flight consistency, speed (medium), durability and price.
I've also used the Mavis 300, which were terrible in durability and consistency, and the Mavis 2000, which were definitely nicer but much more expensive. The 350 had a good balance of both, but being not much more than the 300 and much lower than the 2000, it was a no brainer.
In India Mavis 2000 is cheaper than Mavis 350 because Most Use 350 And No One literally Use 2000 anywhere
👍🏼👍🏼
