The music at the start of this episode is everything. Ramin Djawadi is the real MVP of GOT because even if the show declined in quality his music never did.
He also did music for Prison Break
I really liked Margaery so seeing her go was heartbreaking. But! Cersei kinda had it coming, in that she basically more directly killed her last child by committing her plan. So that prophecy of all three of her children dying did come true. Honestly even if Margaery would've been allowed past the Faith militant instead of being barred, no one probably would have survived the blast since it went so far.
Tommen's death isn't talked about enough for how tragic it honestly is. He wasn't a bad kid. He was just led astray by bad advisors who didn't have his best interests in mind. He didn't deserve his fate.
All of that and just the slightest glimpse of a smile from Cersei. The actress is so understated and brilliant.
You know thinking about it Tommen’s suicide is honestly kinda sad, because he may have been a weak king but he had a kind pure heart of gold, no different than his sister Myrcella and he didn’t deserve to die, and what is even sadder was that we know Tommen loved Margaery but did Margaery love him back? I don’t think she did but it was clear that she genuinely cared for him and liked him because she never put him in danger and never hurt him. But she didn’t love him, so he killed himself for someone who didn’t love him back, that is sad.
That's how I always saw Tommen's death too. Cersei always said she was worried about people ripping him apart, but she played the largest hand in that. He was yanked all different directions and then saw his wife, who he loved (maybe naively), killed by his mother's hands. His heart was truly broken.
@mixtapemystic And Cersei is so controlling that she couldn’t see that the Tyrells would actually be good counsel for Tommen in being king, Margaery is very smart and cunning and she could teach Tommen some tips and tricks and Loras could teach Tommen how to use a sword and teach him how to fight.
Myrcella and Tommen were both far too pure to be Cersei’s children. All Tommen wanted was to play with kittens and to be with Margaery. And all Myrcella wanted was to be with a cute Dornish prince. Neither wanted any of the petty political BS.
I understand why people hate Tommen a lot, granted, he was weak and a wuss but he was a pure and kind soul, no different than Myrcella or Shireen and people were liking them so why pity those 2 but not Tommen when he is just about the same as them?
The unrealistic part is that he couldn"'t immediately know for sure Margeary was dead. He would have hoped she escaped and tried to find her, rather that committing suicide immediately.

It's the sound effects for me lol. Another great reaction Miya! RIP Lady Margery. Cersei's dress was her "war dress" so to speak but she did rock it whether you love or hate her.
Queen Margaery. She died as THE QUEEN in the end.
The soundtrack in this episode is something perfect, amazing ...
Margaery was one of my favorite characters this season because even though she was cunning, ambitious, and manipulative she did show herself to have a kind heart and empathy and this season kinda proved that. I mean she loved her family so much. She genuinely loved her brother so much and did everything she could to get Loras out of prison. She loved her grandmother Olenna very much and in a way she kinda saved her life because if she didn’t send Olenna home she would have stayed in King’s Landing and gotten blown up as a result with her family. And while she played him like a fiddle I also believe she genuinely cared for Tommen as well (I don’t think she loved him but I think she liked him, more than her other 2 husbands) because whenever she manipulated him she always found a solution that would benefit him as well as her and her family. For example when she was manipulated him into sending Cersei away, yes it would benefit her because she would have more control over him but the result would benefit Tommen as well because with her influence over him I think she could have molded him into a great king because I believe she would have been a great queen. And even in the sparrow fiasco when she got Tommen to side with the faith, yes it would benefit her and Loras to secure their safety but the result also benefited Tommen as well because he would be more safer as well. Notice when he made his speech the king’s landing people were cheering meaning they must be happy with the sparrow movement and they now loved Tommen because of that and not just her. Plus she never put him in harm’s way and never betrayed him or hurt him. I think she genuinely wanted him to be happy with her in their marriage. I honestly think she just wanted to attach herself to whoever became king and be the true queen behind the scenes.

Out of all the music in the show this far this opening scene is the first time we've heard a piano play in this show. The composer said it represented entering a new age since the piano is a fairly modern instrument
When the sept exploded I didn’t know how to feel about that, I mean I wanted the High sparrow to die but I didn’t want any of the Tyrells to die, not even Loras and Mace, I am one of the few people who actually liked Loras and even though I didn’t care for Mace, I felt sympathy for him in his final moments.
If I'm not mistaken, at this point that is the first time we hear piano in GoT. So as soon as they hit the first note, we got this "something's wrong" vibe at the begining of the episode haha.
S6 episodes 9 & 10 are two of my favorite GOT episodes.
Cersei became one of my favorite characters after this episode! If you really think about it she has one of the tougher times out of anyone in the show. This is where I feel like she decides to take control over what happens to her

I agree, Cersei’s outfit is bomb! If there’s one thing that stayed consistently good throughout the WHOLE show, it’s the outfits.. without spoiling, Dany’s outfits for next season are possibly my favorites.♥️

When Tommen was coronated I think you said something like "Tommen seems like we fill finally have a good king". Welp. gentleness does not always equate to a good ruler, especially in these times.

What an awesome experience the Winds of Winter finale is! The best GoT episode imo. So much for the illusionary reign of the Boy King Tommen Baratheon. The moral is "power resides where men believe it resides" like Varys said. The whole edifice of the ruling power that was held together by so much bloodshed comes crashing down like a deck of cards. To watch it all go up in flames (literally) was as rewarding as watching it slowly being built up was irksome. Out of the wreckages of the North, the South and the East emerge the three contenders to the Iron Throne : the Bastard of Winterfell (or is he?), the Lioness of Casterly Rock, and the Stormborn who intends to re-create what her ancestor Aegon the Conqueror had done three centuries ago.
All I can say is, epic. So much happened and so many emotions.
There are so many iconic scenes from the series up to this point in my mind but this episode alone has more of them packed into one than any other for me.
And Cersei, wow. The kingdoms had one mad king, now they have a queen of madness.
The line Qyburn says to Pycelle just before the kids take him out is straight from the books. In the books it Varys who speaks that line to Kevan just before he takes him out.

Maya.....feel BLESSED! You just watched the single GREATEST thing EVER put on any screen anywhere.....EVER. This episode is PERFECT. Not a single bad or uninformative, or boring scene ANYWHERE. Grips your brain from start to finish. Even when you jump up and down, or smack your forehead, or cry. It just doesn't stop.

I love how you picked up on the costuming this episode. Cercei's dress is actually made from the same fabric that they used to make her father's, Lord Tywin Lannister, tunics. So it's a way of showing how Cercei is trying to be more like her father by wearing his fabrics and wearing armor
....and that's why they call it King's Landing. Lol rip Tommen.
This is THE best episode EVER … from Any series tbh honest; THE. BEST. EPISODE.

On the Wildfire, in season like 2 before the Battle for Blackwater, the battle Tyrion commanded against Stannis, Tyrion was shown the surplus of Wildfire. Varrys said they could use it against Stannis, but Tyrion chose to only use like a fraction of it and still won the Battle and told Varrys to keep it a secret because of the implications of having so much of it. At one point Cersei finds out as well. And this, this is the culmination basically

So glad to see Arya kill Walder Frey!! Using her faceless man skills! Jon being revealed as the child of Lyanna Stark & Rhaegar Targaryen!!

This is probably my favorite episode. I just love the music. Even though Cersei is horrible, I'm kinda rooting for her in a way in this episode as she's making boss moves. I just like a well thought out plan and I like how the show just lets the music carry you through with little dialogue. Obviously, the deaths of Margaery, Tommen & Loras are sad but this episode does it for me. I also like seeing the prophecy the witch gave Cersei years ago coming true.
Cersi commitment war crimes but.... yes she did look great while doing it
Cersei is not the purest...but damn can she play the Game of Thrones! She earned that throne and outplayed everyone so far.
She can make impressive moves but I wouldn't say she's very good at the game of thrones.

So this was the last really good season imo. I still like parts of season 7 though. Even season 8 has some good episodes. But for sure not as consistent.
But this was a shocking but oddly satisfying season finale. All people Cersei considers a traitor is out. Even if some were pretty awesome people
