पालघर जिल्ह्यातील डोंगर रांगेत, आसावा किल्ला वसलेला आहे. गर्द रानातला या किल्ल्याचा डहाणू बंदराला देशाशी जोडणाऱ्या मार्गावर लक्ष ठेवण्यासाठी उपयोग केला जात असे. मुंबई अहमदाबाद रस्त्यावर, मनोर गावानंतर बोईसर कडे जाणाऱ्या रस्त्याला आसावा किल्ला आहे.
किल्ल्यावर काही वास्तूंचे अवशेष, पाण्याची मोठाली ३ टाकी, मोठ्या गुहा, तटबंदी, दरवाजा आणि बुरुजांचे अवशेष व तोफा पाहायला मिळतात.
पावसाळ्यात असावा किल्ल्या भोवतीचा परिसर अगदी बहरलेला असतो.
या किल्ल्याला रायगड, राजगड किव्वा प्रतापगडासारखा मोठा इतिहास नसला तरी त्याच्यावरील उध्वस्त अवशेष खूप काही सांगतात. त्याचा अनुभव असावा किल्ल्यावरच जाऊन घ्यायला हवा...
किल्ल्यावरील भटकंती करताना काळजी घ्यावी, गावातील जाणकार कोणीतरी व्यक्ती आपल्यासोबत घेऊन जावे. Selfie व Photo काढण्याच्या नादात नसते साहस करू नये...
In the hill range of Palghar district, Asawa Fort is situated. This fort, surrounded by dense forest was used to guard the route connecting Dahanu port with the country. On the Mumbai Ahmedabad road, after Manor village on the road leading to Boisar is Asawa Fort.
The remains of some buildings, 3 large water tanks, large caves, ramparts, gates and bastions and canons can be seen at the fort.
The area around the fort is in full bloom during monsoons.
Although this fort does not have a magnificent history like Raigad, Rajgad or Pratapgad, the ruined structures on it tell a lot. It can be experienced only at the fort.
