I am currently using my MSI Prestige 15 PS63 as my daily driver. It has a design flaw on the LCD back cover hinge mounts. (It breaks after 2-3 years of usage). I replaced it with a new one and have loosened the hinges so that there is less strain on the screw mounts. Also, noticed that the hot air from the CPU and GPU were directed at the plastic screw mounts. So added thermal proof tapes near these regions beneath the LCD bezel to prevent them from degrading. Now the laptop is 5 years old and still performs really well.

super comprehensive video!, loved it, would you recommend the latest thinkpad e series ? its build quality looks a bit weak, also on amazon there's a choice between thinkpad t480 vs thinkpad p50 which is better to buy?

The e-series is a bit weak, but probably not the worst ever laptop. The t480 and p50 are both solid machines. The p50 is 2 years older than the t480, but the p50 has better performance. The t480 will have much better battery life than the p50 and is still usable. Amazon is not a great option to buy a used laptops, better deals are often on eBay. Another newer option would be the thinkpad T14, or p53/p73 if you don't mind poor battery life.

As my first laptop I received an Asus Vivobook f1502za-ej1508w. What do you think? I've been using it for a while now and I don't mind at all.🙂

Dell Latitude 7000s series is nice for finance and data analysis. Dell Precisions 7000s series is nice for extreme engineering.
HP EliteBooks 840/845 series have been excellent business laptops. Although, they have motherboard issues when you adjust the RAM.

The 6th gen will have better battery life and cooling due to double copper heat pipe. Although it is old enough the battery might need to be replaced soon. I would see what people are saying about battery life, but an advantage of the newer ones they have efficiency cores, so if you set your device to battery saver mode, battery life should be better. Although I don't have much personal experience with those newer 12th and 13th gen cpus.

@@Duraputer right, but 7th speakers are way better (i cant hold myself with this one lol)
Also easier one hand lid opening
Buying a new laptop on the similar price range with a used thinkpads wont get you the superb build quality tho 😓
(I'll probably go for an amd)

@@warth45The Thinkpad x1c gen 6 is quite grear in my opinion from some close people I heard from, but if you are looking for AMD, try looking for some of these x395/x13's or t495/t14's, yes they may lack the upgeadable ram, but so does the x1c gen 6, and they are way cheaper with more features like a touchscreen, I would recommend the latter of both models since even the 1st gen of those models come with an upgraded 4th gen ryzen 5 or 7. They are prettt cheap too, I saw one the other day for 200£, which is a hell of a steal.

My Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 that I bought two years ago already had to undergo a motherboard replacement, and now its keyboard is acting strange... Repair technicians think it's the keyboard matrix itself, while my dad and I are sure it's the keyboard controller on the motherboard, and given how official Lenovo repair centers work is they will replace the whole motherboard instead of a single IC... Never buying a gaming laptop ever again. 1000€ waste. Cheap plastic construction, short battery life, and of course, issues.
Meanwhile my ThinkPad t43 from 2005 that still works, has a working battery, functional keyboard but unfortunately too old of hardware... Might as well never buy a new laptop again. Go refurbished or second hand.

Every model will have flaws and negative comments about them, it's just a matter of what flaws you are willing to deal with. Also there might be uncommon issues, like if a motherboard failed, if there is only one review it might just be a defective model. Although with new devices the warranty should take care of that, and with used the devices there usually aren't defects, just wear.

The biggest flaw with Macbook Air is that the CPU temperature is extremely high because of lack of fans which could degrade its overall lifespan when heavily used with CPU/GPU intensive tasks.
